First stop after arriving in Kansas City. Ordered the hook em up sandwich and a cinnamon roll. I am not a fan of cold sandwiches but this one was really good and the cinnamon roll tasted like a next level donut. People kept coming in during the little time we were there and the customer service was great. Very nice, welcoming people.

Love this place! The bread was super fresh and the sandwich was made neatly. The apple fritter, cinnamon roll and cookies are huge! Fresh and delicious. Prices are great. Definitely will continue to visit.

Hook 'em Up is the best damn sandwich I have ever had! And the fried cinnamon rolls and apple fritters? Unreal! You will never be disappointed.

I ordered a corned beef sandwich and it seems like the gave me the cheap corned beef in the lunch meat packages that you can buy at Sav-A-Lot. Corned beef is thick brisket meat. All I can say is WOW!! I'm upset. I threw that mess away. You can't fool someone that eats good everyday 😡

This place has some of the best baked goods ever! I have a huge sweet tooth so I've been to my fair share of donut joints, but this place has hands down the BEST apple fritters I've ever had! They're warm and crunchy on the outside, but soft and oh so ooey gooey on the inside. Not to be dramatic, but these apple fritters changed mah life! I was going to save some for my friend to try but it was literally so good I devoured the whole thing. Also got their sticky buns, baked cinnamon roll, and donut holes and they did not disappoint. The owner was so so kind and personable - conversations here always brighten my day and you can tell they really take the time to get to know their regulars. It's not surprising at all that there is always a line for this place because everything here is to die for. I would suggest coming earlier in the day because the donuts and rolls get snatched up real quick. The prices are very reasonable considering how gigantic their baked goods are. Due to Covid, the dining area is closed, but you can place an order to pickup or order at the window (just remember to bring your mask!). This is a must if you're ever in Kansas city and I would seriously consider making a road trip just to get my hands on their DELICIOUS baked goodies. Reviewed this place on Yelp AND google just cause I want everyone to know how amazing it is!

Been going here for over 20 years, the food and baked goods are excellent and the customer service is ALWAYS No.1! The owners are wonderful and make you feel at home. This is a must go-to spot.

This place is so simple and so unassuming that if you're here it can only be for one of two reasons: 1) You're from the area and you've been coming here for 15+ years. 2) You heard about it from someone in 1). (or maybe you found it on Yelp) Everything thing about this place is punishingly plain...and then you can your sandwiches. They are fresh, meaty, crisp, nourishing, perfectly executed. None of the parts are extraordinary but the overall sandwich Gestalt is just mind-blowing. Come here for lunch.

This hidden gem has been something my family has always loved since I was a little girl. The sandwiches are so flavorful, and the prices aren't bad at all. The hook up sandwich is made on an onion roll and contains two or three different types of meat, no pork. I always live with a sweet treat whether that is a cookie or a doughnut. I highly recommend this hiden gem if you've never tried it.

I came home and had one thing on my mind Hook Em Up! Of course BBQ is always on the agenda but getting my sandwich was #1. I came during the lunch rush but it didn't take long to get my food. They've remodeled and it looks dope as just a lunch counter. Whenever you're in KC try this establishment and always order the Hook Em Up

This has been a staple in the community for years. Generations of my family have eaten here and/or did odd jobs as children to get a bite to eat. They have the best sandwiches, Hook 'em up is a favorite and the cookies are amazing. I highly recommend. Whenever I'm in town I definitely check them out. It is clean and sanitary and the service is satisfactory so have no worries.

The food here is sooooo good. Definitely is your local deli. I also got an Apple fritter, and a chocolate long John they were so soft and delicious.

Ordered delivery to surprise my daughter for her bday. There is a $3.99 delivery fee, a "convenience" fee of $1.75 plus still had to tip the Uber driver. I ordered the Reuben based on reading reviews. Daughter said it was good but not the best. Said the sauce was weird and sweet. Also ordered a veggie for her spouse, a vegetarian - the only veggie choices besides lettuce and tomato are jalapeno peppers, banana peppers and olives, none of which she likes, so ended up with basically a cheese sandwich for $7. If you are gonna offer a vegetarian option, at least have some other veggies - what happened to bell peppers or cukes or avocado, etc? Also ordered cheesecake, and my daughter said it is not cheesecake, but more like a muffin with strawberry goop in it. Had I known that I would not have ordered it at all. Overall disappointed.

Great sandwiches and you would never know that the ham is really turkey. The bread was super soft. They are a take out only so make sure you have some place to eat.

If you Really want the BEST SANDWICH in KC it's the Hook 'em up! It's meaty , big, great onion bun !! Can feed 2 people easy!! Get cookies too! Delicious!!

Oh my goodness, so glad I searched Yelp for bakeries near me, once again Yelp has helped me discover another delicious place! I was heading out of KC but had not had breakfast. I was in the mood for something fresh bakery style breakfast sandwich. (Next time here I want to try their lunch sandwiches)! Oh and the best part everyone was so friendly and nice, all the workers and clientele. From the conversations I could tell they were repeat customers in the bakery which is always a great sign. Thank you for brightening my day today! (This is not a sit down restaurant but I was not looking for one.)

I know this is a good review but the food just taste even better when there's great service. Great service is exactly what you will get here. The sandwich, well, we got the Hook 'em .....four of 'em! They are really good good and very much worth the $9 price tag. There are a variety of other sandwiches available including build your own options at just really good prices..... There's not any seating available but there's plenty of room to talk and get to know Pat, the ladies behind the counter and other customers There's also several fresh baked cookies and donuts with apple fritters that are REALLY GOOD! Sorry, didn't get a fritter pic.....I ate it! A visit to M&M is really as much about meeting just some really good people as much as it's about the sandwiches Both are 5 stars!

Absolutely top tier! Probably the best sandwich spot in Kansas City. Everything you'd like on a sandwich and the service they offer is polite. There is typically a wait, but if you know M&M bakery, then you know it's because of how good their food is! I always just go with someone so we can chat while waiting.

If you want a family owned, local deli that never misses the mark, this is the place to be! If there is a line out of the door every time you come in, you know the food is good. They make one of the best Reubens in the city Hands down - piled high with corned beef (that isn't greasy or fatty), cheese, kraut, 1000 Island, pickles and red onions. I add jalapenos to mine for an extra kick. And don't forget they make the bread for all their sandwiches IN HOUSE. You cannot beat the flavor or the price - $8 sandwiches all day. I have yet to try the desserts or cinnamon rolls, but I can guarantee they are amazing if they are anything like the rest of what they have to offer. Very friendly people, you can tell they take the time to make it good and make it right. I've been slowly getting all my coworkers hooked!

Y'all this place is Yum-to-E! They had me at cinnamon rolls & cinnamon twists. I must go back and try that chocolate long john. Super tasty! Hubby has been here so many times for lunch sandwiches & brags about how tasty the sammies are! I love sandwiches. A LOT. I'm always on the lookout for a good one and have been reading reviews for this place for a while now. Today, I finally got the chance to try it. And boy, was I mad that I've waited so long!! I ordered online through Menufy, which was super easy. When I arrived, there were a lot of people standing around on the sidewalk, in line to place and pick up their orders. Always a good sign when you see that many people. The man who gave me my food at the pick up window was incredibly friendly and told me to come back soon. I will, sir. I certainly will. I had the hook 'em up and also picked up a half dozen glazed donuts and some donut holes. I have to admit, I almost modified the sandwich a bit since I don't love pepper jack cheese and am weird about tomatoes. But I took a chance and trusted their creativity. OMG. I am so glad I did! I had to unhinge my jaw to take a bite (this thing isn't for the weak) but every bite was perfection. Every topping played together nicely, offering texture, flavor, and pure freakin joy. I don't know if my face hurts from eating it or smiling about it. Oh, and those donuts and holes? Melt. In. Your. Mouth. These guys know what they're doing. I can't wait to try their breakfast next!!

We stopped by after reading about their incredible cinnamon rolls online and had a wonderful experience! The staff were so kind! We ended up getting several donuts and rolls. All were huge and next level amazing!

Anyone we asked about getting a sandwich from said we should come here. We got two sandwiches, potato salad, chips, drinks and donut holes. Everything was great. Prices were great and so was the food.

It has been years since I visited M & M Bakery and Deli. It is a spot that one can forget if they don't frequent it. If you don't place your order early, to pick up, during lunch time, PLEASE plan to stand in line for 30+ minutes. The line actually circles around the inside of the establishment, during lunch hours. I can't say what it is like during the early morning, breakfast hours. I will say they take pride in making each sandwich to your liking. If i could, I would eat here, for lunch, once a week. The food is the bomb.com!

I cannot wait to go back. I usually don't care for cold deli sandwiches either, but this by far is the best deli in Kansas City, and if you think there is a better one, put them on notice.

I was planning a weekend visit to Kansas City when a friend of a friend of a friend suggested I come to M & M Bakery and Deli. You know how some delis are just like any other delis? This was not the case! It had a friendly atmosphere, in fact the owner Pat was extremely kind. But let's talk about the food! That's why we are here! I had the hook 'em up sandwich which is what they are apparently known for. It was a perfect combination of several meats and fresh vegetables. My partner had a turkey sandwich with a variety of toppings. They have a great selection of toppings by the way. My only suggestion is to have a better menu. There really is no menu. I had to rely on a picture posted to Yelp to understand what we were getting into.

Not near as much meat as advertised. Online order for mayo, tomatoes, and lettuce but got mayo, tomatoes, and pickles. Ordered a diet coke and got a regular. But they have the best apple fritters in town!

I ordered online and picked it up at the takeout window. Delicious sandwich and fabulous pastries! Easy ordering from the website. The sandwich descriptions helped me choose and the add/omit options were very helpful. Deeeelish!

We had the pastrami sandwich that included chips and a drink for lunch today. I was very good! Soft bread, perfect portion size, wrapped so you can eat it in your car or at the park and not make too much of a mess. You should give it a try.

I was traveling to Kansas City, a friend told me about this place. Man oh man! It was a little bit of everything in there! It was right before Christmas so you could buy t-shirts perfume, Knick knacks! Anyway, the food! Any good sandwich the bread is where it's at! Of course I had to get the Hook em Up sandwich. I wish I would have ordered 2! It was a little ham, turkey, fixing on an onion roll (GOOD). But, those cinnamon rolls! It's like they're talking to you through the window. It was messy, that's how you know it was good! The door never stopped opening, clearly everyone in the neighborhood knew about those cinnamons rolls! This isn't the time to be healthy treat yourself!!

If you haven't tried it, you're missing out. Extremely satisfying portions, flavor, and pricing. Places is always packed and food is coming out quick. Definitely a once a week stop to eat.

This is one of those places that doesn't look much from the outside, but the food is so good. My first time trying this place out. Glad my coworkers suggested this place out for lunch. I had the Hook Em Up Sandwich, it was probably one of the best sandwich I've ate. It also includes a small bag of chips of your choice. The sandwich was so rich in flavors. I had to save the half of the sandwich. I got full from half of the sandwich already. This was definitely a new favorite. Please keep in mind they don't serve Pork here.

Ok this place is so understated & amazing. The staff were very friendly. I got there too early for a fresh baked apple fritter, but even the day old one was delish. Also....the cinnamon roll....holy moly was it huge & yummy. The cheesecakes looked so cute. Can't wait to go back & try more!!

The service was friendly and kind. It did take a little over 20 minutes to get a deli sandwich when they weren't all that busy. From the bakery we ended up getting a baked cinnamon which was large, fluffy, and delicious. We ordered their cheesecake which was more like a bundt cake with jelly filling, so that was disappointing. The snickerdoodle cookie was airy and soft. The brownie with nuts was underwhelming, it was pretty average/bland.

Pretty good sandwich. Much better than the national chains. I wasn't a fan of the bread but that's only because I favor hard crusty bread rather than soft bread. Personally I like the fact they still close the indoor and still operate via a pickup window. It was convenient. Place your order and provide your cell number. You can then sit in your car and wait for the call. Then go to a separate pickup window. The only suggestion is it would be better to text rather than call.

I finally got a chance to try this little bakery and deli. I've heard about it for quite some time and the reviews were always glowing. Specifically, I wanted to try their Reuben sandwich as I had heard it was one of the best in town. There was a line outside the window to order food. I've been by a few times before & there has always been a line. Food worth waiting for is a good sign!Apparently they still are not letting people inside their space. The man taking the order was very friendly and took my phone number saying it would be 15 to 20 minutes for my hot Reuben sandwich & they would text me when it was ready. He suggested I wait in my car to stay out of the heat. After about 20 minutes and running short on time, I went to the window to ask if I could go ahead and get it cold. Apparently, my order had been ready for quite some time but they had not sent me text. So I got my slightly warm Reuben, chips @ a cookie for about $12.00 with tip. For what you get, the food is reasonably priced. My sandwich by itself would have been $7.50. It had plenty of corned beef, dressing, cheese & kraut. I found it interesting they also put slices of pickle and onions on their Reubens. Overall, it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Love this gem! Excellent service and the best sandwiches in town! There is a variety of menu choices and the staff isn't flustered with a huge crowd. They made my order accurately which is really important! They don't take carry out phone calls so that was kind of a drag but it's a good hangs.

Amazing Midwest goodness! I ordered donuts, apple fritters, donut holes and cinnamon rolls for a work event. They were a huge hit. If you've ever wondered what growing up in the Midwest is like, eat one of M&M's apple fritters, it's basically everything good about the Midwest in a mouthful of wholesome apple cinnamon goodness.
