M Boutique Hotel (Paphos, Cyprus) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"M Boutique Hotel is a contemporary hotel with a personal backstory. Built on the bones of the old Daphne Hotel, one of Paphos’s first post-war lodgings, it was reimagined by Anthimos Economides in honor of his mother Maria, the original matriarch behind the family-run hotel. Today, it is an adults-only stay designed for couples, with minimalist rooms, warm wood tones, and, in some suites, private pools. Geppetto, the house restaurant, takes its cues from the nearby mountains, serving local wine and Mediterranean dishes with a seasonal focus. The sea and harbor are just a short walk away." - Tablet Hotels

We were very happy with our stay. Room was modern, very clean. Bed sheets were clean. I honestly don't know why the property had so many bad reviews but it was absolutely good and worth the money. Located 2 blocks or 5 min walk from the beach. Street parking is easy to find around the property for 1$ per hour and you only pay from 8am to 6pm. We had a problem with a microwave and they replaced it the same day. Wifi is not for work but for some internet surging is fine. We would love to have some closet or hangers to put the clothes on but it was not a big issue. Generally, we are very happy about our stay.

This place is in need of maintenance. The hotel looks like an abandoned house with overgrown weeds and moldy walls. The room was clean, but there was no room service for my three days stay. The AC leaks water inside the room and a bucket and towels were needed. Nobody showed up to fix it. Door handles are lose, tower hanger is missing and the other lose.

Was alarmed when I got a text stating the check in procedure not realizing that there would not be staff present. When I arrived I told my Uber driver that I would be walking during my stay as opposed to renting a car and he said he would not recommend that I do so in that neighborhood alone. I got to the front gate and no need to use the code they gave me as the gate was wide open. At the front desk there was indeed a sign that said that no one was at the desk and gave two numbers to contact if anything was wrong. Upon getting to my room it felt more like a high end hostel than a hotel. The property was earily quiet and I felt very unsafe especially as a single female traveler. Within an hour of arrival I booked a different hotel and notified the staff I would not be staying and they responded. I returned home from my vacation and thinking more about the experience requested a refund. They denied my contacting them even though I have proof that I did. The experience was bad enough but the service after is deplorable.

My boyfriend and I booked this boutique hotel in north beach for a quick getaway to Miami and ha a great time! The room was clean and well equipped, with a microwave, fridge, electric kettle, dishware and utensils. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable, the common garden in the back was adorable. The manager, Mr. Mamoudi was communicative, welcoming and accommodating. I also loved that everything was keyless. It made everything so much easier. The hotel is only 3 blocks from the beach and about a 20 minute cab ride from south beach, so conveniently located if you don't want to be in the thick of the hustle and bustle of South beach but still have it accessible. Overall we had a great time!

I really liked the hotel. We spent 5 wonderful days at this hotel. There was a very friendly lady at the reception. The hotel was quiet, comfortable and there were no extraneous smells. The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay, its own small kitchen and cutlery, it was possible to cook food, TV with different channels. Excellent location of the hotel. Near the beach, a good walking area near the beach, restaurants and a public transport stop with which you can get to the center of Miami Beach and other attractions, grocery stores, shops where there is everything for the beach. We will definitely return to this hotel.

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. UNPROFESSIONAL, DISGUSTING AND SAFETY ISSUES!|We checked into 2 rooms, 1 smelled like weed another had a strong bleach smell, it was impossible to be in the room. We had to open the windows to get rid of the smell. |Both rooms had cracks on the windows, stains on the sheets and towels and outdated renovations. |For one of the room the front desk gave us 1 big and 1 small towel even though there were 2 of us staying in the room. We have asked for more towels, however received them only next day. |Wifi wasn’t working the first evening and the front desk wasn’t helping to resolve the issue until next day. |On the second day the hotel said that they need to move us into a different room but there was no explanations why. |AC in the new room was very loud and once we turned it off it was leaking on the floor. |Toilet flushing didn’t work. When we reported this to the front desk they said that they know and there was no action taken. |On our third day the fire siren started working at around midnight and the fire department didn’t come until after 1h later. There was some flooding going on and siren was very loud making it impossible to stay in the hotel. The stuff was just walking around and smiling at us. No one tried to resolve the issue or apologies for the convenience. |Next morning the sirens went off again at around 5:30AM and noone was solving the issue again. We left hotel at around 8:30AM and the sirens were still on. There was no stuff at all in the hotel, fire department never came. At that point it was a safety issue staying in this hotel. |We have packed our luggages, reached out to Expedia and they helped us to refund the money for the rest of our stay. |

This place gets 1 star because It won't let me rate without 1 but this place is far from habitable. It looks absolutely nothing like in the photos. It doesn't feel safe. Room looked like someone had a good night a nobody bother to clean up for the next stay. It was disgusting. We got there for a stay of 2 nights after a long day of work and a 4 hour drive at 1:30am, only to realize there was no way we could sleep there. We rather sleep In our car. Nobody picks up the phone ever. Finally got a contact through expedia and he said owners would not refund. They should close the place. It's disgusting. UPDATE!!!! This hotel is still horrible, no change there nor my initial review... but they dared contact my credit card company and apparently provided proof that the room we got was in perfect condition, liars!!! What did you do? Clean the room and send pictures?! These people will scam you out of your money!! Do not go there! I will be making sure they close them down!!

Google
Honestly I’m shocked about the hotel specially for the price! there were a few things that we notice when we first came in, and when we notified the staff, they took care of it the very next day! They all friendly from the Maintance lady all of way to management! They will answer all your questions, give you clear instructions and on top of that self check out and check in is so cool! I was supposed to check in on the 8th at 3 pm but my flight arrived on the 8th at 11:20 pm and they said it was okay I can check in any time after that! The beds are comfortable, we have enough towels, it’s so quite in a certain time, and the location is perfect! We got so many restaurants and a Starbucks near by !! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you have a budget and want to have some peace and comfort, and safe, there is so many cameras outside the building and in the hallways! this will be your place to stay! Thank you so much !

Yelp
Hard pass on this one! Stinky, filthy room (see photos). We cleaned it ourselves because we couldn't stay there otherwise because it was so disgusting. It was Miami Boatshow weekend so everything else was booked or we would have left immediately. After informing the management via text (no one is ever at the front desk) they never even responded. We did catch 1 guy the next day and informed him but he shrugged his shoulders and said "you can leave and go stay somewhere else"...with no refund of course. Bathroom sink was stopped up and again, we sent a text message with no response. They do not care at all. Photos online do NOT depict reality. What you are actually getting looks nothing like the photos. The only positive is the location is good being close to the beach, restaurants and shopping.

Yelp
The worst hotel I've ever stayed in my life. After a few nights we left (thanks to Expedia - with a refund). The rooms are shitty, after the first night they decided to move us to a different room because they gave us the wrong room. The toilet doesn't wash off and they were not going to fix it, it took us a while to get Wi-Fi working properly, not all staff even speak English and communication is awful. Air conditioning also worked bad. On our third night, the fire alarm started because something broke on the second floor and the first floor flooded. It took around 1.5 hours for them to stop an alarm and everyone had to wait on a street during this period because it wasn't possible to stay in the hotel with this sound. Then the same thing happened at 6 AM, we called Expedia and left in around 2 hours, the alarm was still screaming and nobody from the staff was available. Totally NOT recommend anyone. Don't destroy your vacation. Also note that most of good reviews are old as hell, maybe sometime back it was a nice hotel, but right now it's trash.

Yelp
If your looking for a nice, clean and quite place to stay in Miami, M Boutique hotel is your place. I really enjoyed my stay there. The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. My family enjoyed it as well. The staff were amazing, especially an attendant by the name of Rosie. We were attended nicely by the staff and were informative when we needed information. The only setback on this hotel is the parking. Very limited and no pool. Other than that, it's a very nice hotel. I was celebrating my anniversary on my visit and the hotel offered a Romantic Package that was worth it. They set up the room so nicely that was wife was shocked and amazed of how beautiful it turn out. So if your looking for a nice way to blow your marriage mate with amazement on your Anniversar,y just ask for their Romantic Package. Definitely recommend this hotel for a nice getaway and be close to the beach.

Yelp
Had a sewage problem in the next room over, which we could smell through the walls. I lit a candle and the smoke alarm went off, meanwhile the hallways smell like weed in the evenings (and bleach 24/7. Got a supposedly free upgrade (probably because they forgot my reservation and place me in any ole room). My upgraded room came with a smaller bed. And as for my romance package of which I paid $55 for, they forgot. So no rose petals on the bed, no chocolate truffles, no bottle of champagne in a budget of ice. I got a refund and a compliments bottle of sparkling wine, so I guess happy birthday to me. Will not return. Full disappointment.

Yelp
You get what you paid for. Nothing was particularly bad, but you can tell it's not a 4 or 5-star hotel. Of course it was so much cheaper than the high star hotels. The reception desk closes at 3pm, so you'll receive a text with codes to enter the building and your rooms before you arrive. The room was very humid, which you can tell from the smell of the room and the wet sheets. There were some areas in the room where mold is pretty visible (especially in the bathroom). But overall, the room was decently clean. Not having to pay the ridiculous valet parking fee was the biggest plus (most hotels ask for 30-40+ per day valet fee). The parking was on the street, but they provide you with a map of the parking spaces both in front of the hotel and across from the street. The space is limited and can be filled quickly especially at nights, but we had no trouble finding parking during our stay. The staff was very kind, showing us exactly where to park. The maid provided us with beach towels as soon as we came, right before she left for the night. Had a good experience for the price I paid.

Yelp
This hotel is so full of charm and thoughtful touches, superb cleanliness, cheerful and easy color and design palate. We felt very welcomed by the beautiful couple hosting and came to feel as if we were visiting the home of friends. We highly recommend staying here and enjoying peace, a beautiful setting and a more personal atmosphere than many of the accommodations in the Miami Beach area. Surrounding exploration is also peaceful and neighborly with a lovely beachfront walkway and some tasty food options. Overall, friendly and relaxing, cool respite despite the active visit time and hot temperatures outside. We would definitely go back!

Nya P.

Yelp
My family and I stayed here last week and it was an ok stay. The main thing was when you walked in the smell of mold. Come too find there was mold right next to the shelf near by the closet. There were also roaches. We weren't very pleased with our stay.

Yelp
This place is very cute at first sight. When I first opened the door I noticed that there were two twin size beds put together to make a king! (In a studio apartment for two adults)When I asked the front desk staff about the two twin size beds put together and how uncomfortable it was she said to me that I did not put down a preference when I first booked the room (either way no one called to confirm anything with me) then offered to put us in the VIP SUITE for the difference of $400 ummmmmm.....what??? there are no staff here on the weekends....so we had the very same towels since we reached! The bathroom looks really cute til you look into the shower...MILDEW ON THE GROUND. Do anyone actually clean here?? I will not come back here and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. Bottom line! The room looked like a bedroom but I certainly did not feel clean enough to be one!

Yelp
Initially the hotel, well boutique is cute upon arrival. BUT We had several issues ... the first day our ceiling was leaking in the bathroom, next kitchen faucet came off causing water to go everywhere, & last but not least the toilet stopped up on our last day. There is NO 24 hr service- front desk or maintenance/ housekeeping. So if you have a problem outside of the hours of 9am-5pm you're out of luck! When we called about the toilet we were told to wait for housekeeping to come in a 930 am. This definitely not a HOTEL. I would not stay here again

Yelp
More excuses.. we called your phone twice. You only answered once. You knew we needed the room early when we booked and assured us it wouldn't be a problem. Another lie. And why would we bother the "girl up front" with an AC unit that was blowing cold air but was WAY to small for the room because the cheap owner didn't buy the more expensive correct unit. Plus she was busy being "forced to work her 12 hour shift alone". I don't care how expensive or energy efficient the unit is. Tons of guests have written it doesn't get the job done. So you make excuses. I like the one where some people like to feel the ocean breezes. There are no ocean breezes hitting that small house wedged in between run down buildings blocks from the beach. Also no one goes to Miami Beach for the breezes. It's humid as heck. But you know that. All this is for show. You just made a mistake and bought the small AC units and won't admit it. So stop lying about us calling you and demanding a room and that you had a technician check it and blah blah blah. Just replace it. All of them. Once again people. No one is there except for a few hours during the day. There is an iPad that no one answers in the lobby. It's stupid and another example of being cheap. I didn't even bother bringing up the drug use at the "courtyard table" outside because I am sure you have excuse for heroin needles too. Owner has shown his true colors by attacking the guest when his cheapness is pointed out. Stay elsewhere or sweat your butt off..... you have been warned. Read all the travel blogs. One star

Yelp
I am sharing my experience just so travelers can make a more informed decision when booking rooms from this website. I booked a room in this boutique hotel for our stay during Christmas based on the reviews and a rating of 8.6 out of 10. While the ratings are usually a good indication of the quality of a hotel, this was not the case for this hotel. First of all, there is no reception at the hotel. They have a system what they call a virtual concierge which does not help at all and no one is ever available to help. On the descriptions, it was said there is parking; however, all they have is street parking which is first come first serve and most of the times we had difficulty finding a spot. One reason why I booked this room instead of the many other hotels in the area with higher quality was that they bragged they have parking while others said they have street or valet parking. The entire building and the room stank! The bed sheets were dirty, moist, and covered with stains. When we told the manager after we finally saw him, he lied and said they are brand new!!!!! The hair dryer was broken. The bathroom did not have any ventilation and the door did not close! The shower had mold and was filthy. There was no tissue in the room. We had the worst hotel experience ever. The room does not look anything like the photos. On the last day of our stay, we finally saw the manager and communicated our comments to him. To our surprise, instead of receiving our feedback he insulted and yelled at us, like it was our fault their place is filthy and worn!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone especially families who travel with kids as the place is super dirty and not hygienic at all.

Yelp
I made a reservation through booking.com and received a notification that something was wrong with my credit card. The email specifically instructed me to contact the hotel directly if I wanted to keep my room. I called the number immediately and no one answered, so I followed up with email trying to rectify the situation. I never heard back, but instead received a cancellation email. I called again and this time got a horrifically rude man who told me that he didn't bother to respond to my messages because I should have fixed the issue online and it wasn't his problem to fix...wow! BTW, this wasn't an option in the email from booking.com (I went back to make sure I read the instructions correctly). He did mention during the "conversation" that for legal reasons he couldn't take information over the phone (that would have been reasonable to share with me in a return email, or on my call without hostility). He did aggressively tell me I should have read the email more closely. He went on to yell at me and tell me he "wasn't my bank and not responsible if I didn't have money on my card", which wasn't at all the case and grossly inappropriate. I was taken aback and asked if he was the owner and he told me it wasn't my business who he was. He demanded to know what I wanted from him, and I told him that at this point I just wanted him to be nice as I was trying to work through the remedy, that we were looking forward to staying at the hotel. He told me I could stay at a different hotel and hung up on me. Crazy!

Yelp
This place was amazing!! Even though it is in north beach it is right next to the 120 bus stop which is super convenient to get to south beach. The staff is super nice and even allowed us to leave our bags in the back office before we were able to check in so we could go out and enjoy breakfast. it's very clean and affordable and the kitchen is perfect because they are right by publix grocery store which is in walking distance.

Yelp
My friend and I stayed at the M boutique hotel this weekend April 8th- 11th. We loved it! The staff was friendly and very helpful with information on places to eat and go. The location is also great because everything is very close. The rooms are very cutely styled and the bed is comfortable !!! They were very accommodating of all our needs. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I stay in this hotel with my family. We stay few days in this place and we felt very good. We had the room or little apartment with one room in the garden, so clean. you can use barbecue and enjoy in this wonderful and quiet garden

Yelp
Hotel was great. Only complaint I have was the hassle they gave us about fresh towels and wash cloths every day. Other than that the staff was beyond friendly, helpful and attentive. Amanda, the receptionist was super helpful and informed us about all the the local attractions and how to get around. The rooms were clean as was the hotel itself.

Yelp
What a wonderful spot! The staff was very accommodating when we asked to keep using the shower and towels after checkout while waiting for our evening flight. The building is beautiful, and recently updated in a fun, modern style. We even got upgraded to the VIP suite. Close to the beach and a lot of wonderful Cuban, Brazilian, and argentine restaurants. Great value!

Yelp
Loved our stay in M boutique. Great staff, super clean environment. I never thought I would find a place like this in South Beach for the price. I will be back Thanks.

Yelp
Good location .. two blocks from the beach. Nothing fancy or over the top but if you don't expect that , it's fine. We used the outdoor space when our son came to visit since there's no place to sit in the room. No ice machine (if we knew that we wouldn't have booked there) ...

Yelp
The service and the rooms are nice and clean . Riley was really helpful and very friendly staff and will come back again if am around Miami. Recommend it!

Yelp
First of all I arrived to the "Boutique Hotel" it was literally just a house with nothing appealing to be called a "Boutique Hotel". As I arrived at night, there was no receptionist to host me. One has to carry 3 different codes to enter the "Hotel" and access the room. When I entered the room, it had a terrible humidity, and was smelling like mold. When I went to bed, I had to sleep to the other side of the bed because the air conditioning was blowing dust right over the pillows! Yes, dust! I have allergies and I had the worst night of sleep ever as there was nobody there to give support as a customer would expect from a serious hotel. As this was not enough, in the morning there was noise and steps from the upper floor waking me up since 7am. The receptionist (who stays on-site only for a short period of the day) simply entered my room because she thought it was empty. That was the final straw for me. This receptionist was in training for only 3 days, and the management left her alone to take care of customers, which she obviously didn't know how to do. My stay was supposed to be for 3 nights but after this nightmare on my first night I just wanted to find another place as I already lost too much of my valuable time and health, especially during the weekend of my wife's birthday. They are refusing to refund me the money of the 2 nights I didn't use. Worse than that, they updated my reservation in Booking as "cancelled" which is not true, and which was preventing me from reviewing my stay. I had to contact booking to be able to place this review. That was the easiest money they ever made. The most "interesting" thing was their response to Booking when I filled a complaint: "Miami is a humid city and everybody knows that." "The guest didn't put the "Do not disturb" sign outside and therefore the housekeeper knocked and entered". That's not true, first because it was not the housekeeper and second she didn't knock before. My recommendation to you, stay away from this place!
