The 35 Best Restaurants in Cartagena, Colombia | Eater

"In Bocagrande, one of Cartagena’s main tourist drags, you’ll find this pleasant Lebanese-inspired restaurant, outfitted with chic, gilded decorations. Mónica Espinosa opened the restaurant a decade ago, serving recipes she learned from her mother-in-law (whose family is from Lebanon). Diners especially love Espinosa’s kibbehs, tabbouleh, rice with almonds, stuffed grape leaves, “pharaoh’s beef loin,” fatay (empanadas filled with spiced ground beef), labneh, and lentil soup. I'm vegan & have been struggling to find any vegan restaurants, even good vegan options. I went to get falafel from a Lebanese restaurant in Boca grande but found M Cocina Arabe on accident. Lovely aesthetic, neat, sleek design and clean interior. But $13 usd/53000cop for 8 small thin pieces of falafel would have been okay if was good, unfortunately it was very basic. The Lebanese restaurant's is better. More flavorful, larger, and more reasonably priced. The service was excellent though, just misrepresented the falafel, it was dissatisfying.

👎🏻👎🏻I have been coming to this place for years, this is why I can attest to the fact that the quality has gone. Service was poor from the beginning, a hostess that doesn’t come to greet you, no. You go to her. A waiter that let’s you sit more than 10 minutes without bringing you a menu. Paper napkins at a place that charges like a 5 star experience. A server that brings you the food and does not take away the plate you had in front of you. The plate stays and you have to reach out to your food. Honestly don’t know what happened but I felt I was better treated at a less pretentious places. Won’t recommend it, won’t be coming back, unless something changes either the prices where you can expect a more informal experience or train staff and better the food and drinks. 👎🏻👎🏻

I wasn’t impressed with the appetizers (babaganush and Tabouli salad) but the mixed meat dish and almond rice were amazing! We also had some chocolate sphere for dessert which was also excellent. All topped off with great service. Will definitely visit again.

I visited this restaurant for my birthday and it exceeded my expectations. The food was 5/5, service 5/5, and atmosphere 5/5. The building appeared to be a bit confusing at first, as there appeared to be two or three restaurants inside one building. The restaurant was more upscale than I imagined, as we were dressed very casual. The waiter was extremely nice and helpful and even brought me a dessert and sang happy birthday to me. The pictures online captivated me and drew me to this restaurant, and the food did not disappoint, if you have a chance, do yourself a favor and visit!

We have had four excellent meals here, we wound up eating there everyday. The portions large, prices good, food very good and service excellent. We do not speak Spanish and I have food allergies, used Google translate first day, second day our same waiter, Edwin who is great, remembered everything, we just ordered and he customized to make sure no allergies. Highly recommend. Very local place. Ask for Edwin, he is very laid back, very professional.

One of the best of Cartagena!!! Absolutely delicious food - Beautiful venue Think of this as a 5 in 1 restaurant. It’s literally five restaurants combine into one. It doesn’t matter if you’re are vegan or carnivore this will be good for you. At night they have live music. I don’t know often they change is but we had a violinist this night. Which was very fun actually! They have a fully Arabic menu which my vegan sister was enjoying very much. The prices of all five menus ranged from very cheap to expensive. It doesn’t matter what’s your budget you’ll find a great affordable plate. We went during COVID-19 and it was very safe actually. They took all the right procedures to make sure one is safe. We enjoyed very much this restaurant and would recommend to anyone.

The most delicious culinary experience of Cartagena! Wide choice of meals, each on of them tastier that you could imagine. The staff is extremely lovely. Don’t forget to order one of the signature cocktails! Highly recommend 🤩

The food was ok. My sister’s salmon was too salty to be consumed so they redid it… then brought out a complimentary tres leches dessert as an apology. The service was slow it took forever to get the bill but finally we got it while standing by the door… it took so long to get an itemized copy that I didn’t look at it until I was in the Uber riding away. Imagine my disgust that they charged me for the ‘complimentary’ dessert!!
