LOVED this museum. Exhibitions are excellent, innovative, and beautifully installed. Very original. They also have a great Keith Haring mural from 1987 installed in the cafe and a James Turrell on the 5th floor deck (along with a great garden).

An interesting museum, very technical exhibit’s The cafe on the roof has outside seating. A lot of screens and projections. Well worth a visit

Cool museum, but some of the rooms have TV screens that produce a lot of electric noise sounds the are very headache inducing

Just visited. Heard they are closing. Because the collection and exhibitions have been some of the best the only reason for closing must be some petty personal rivalry or corruption. I’d stay away from contemporary art in Flanders in the future because of this. Plenty of great collections in France and Germany. That’s where I’d go.

Visited Antwerp’s contemporary art museum on a short day trip. The building and space are really spacious as well as well thought out. I really enjoyed the permanent exhibition that hosted works of both international and Flemish artists such as Marina Abramović, Dirk Braeckman, Jan Fabre and more. The current exhibition on Hugo Roelandt and the archival exhibition on Today’s place were excellently curated.

Absolutely loved & highly recommend for the art scholar & professional. Maybe not digestible for the passing tourist or art hobbyist as the exhibits are quite abstract and mostly all contemporary (not so much old, famous, pretty portraits). Very well structured and low crowd even for a weekend. If you’re looking for a museum that engages the mind and sight — this is it!

Google
A bit disappointing for the price. We would expect more contemporary artists in the gallery of contemporary art, although one exhibition was very thought-provoking. Overall, I think the potential of the institution was not really fulfilled.

I went to the Panamarenko exhibition and it was great. The installation is quite big and bright. Very well done. You have space to enjoy admiring all those crazy machines created by this artist! I always wonder how many of them actually "worked"... apparently the submarine can go 7 meters deep! Enjoy! (8€/pers)
