"A cocktail of vitamins! Julien Gautier’s cheerful establishment adds a whiff of exuberance to Lyon’s well-heeled, tree-lined Avenue Foch. The smart interior sports a muted blue and flashy orange colour scheme, felt grey designer armchairs, linen tablecloths, a bar and a wine cellar encircled by a conservatory… The similarly charismatic service is as smooth as a silky béarnaise sauce. In the kitchen, the veteran and talented chef, formerly of Léon of Lyon, rustles up an appetising, market-sourced menu, combining flawless technique and know-how in a bid to pamper our tastebuds with delicate flavours tailored to modern appetites. The honey-flavoured madeleines served with a fromage blanc sorbet are awesome!" - Michelin Inspector

The food was very good, and we were very lucky to have the new menu on the first day. I especially like the taste elements of the farmhouse chicken appetiser, especially the mushrooms, which are so wonderful. In addition, the pork I chose for the main course is also well handled, which is one of the most wonderful pork I have ever eaten. The dessert is delicious. The service was very good, and my friends and I enjoyed a wonderful experience. I will come again soon!

We booked a table for 6 and we are satisfied with excellent French cuisine experience. Wine and dessert are good.

We wanted a quieter and special meal. Food was made from the finest and freshest of ingredients. The staff were impeccably gracious and helpful. While we wanted to practice our French, the English menus were very helpful for nuanced food words not in the common vocabulary. Adventurous desserts too! Standout winner was the madeleines!!!

Restaurant M, led by Chef Michelle, visited our table, very kind and nice person, offers delicious, well-crafted dishes paired with excellent service. The menu is creative yet approachable, and the wide selection of wines ensures a perfect pairing for every meal. Great value for the quality—definitely worth a visit!

Google
This is hugely disappointing when you book a table, because menu on the restaurant website is very tempting and when you show up the very same day it starts to be clear that menu is completely different, far from your taste. This is what happened to us. Menu (shown as pictures to this review) had octopus and ceviche. None of this were present. Dishes we have got were average. Duck was overcooked, roaster pork was tasteless. After reading reviews, we were really excited. Excitment soon turned into disappointment. In an enviroment that takes care about waste, this place doesn’t seem to care. We were given olives as a snack, which were taken away from our table only only half-left when starters arrived. Service was average, as nobody asked us whether we are satisfied with our food. I have given a chance to the restaurant, sending an email afterwards, but that was ignored and never heard back from them.

Food and service was excellent. Dinner set menu was perfect. Pumpkin soup, warm madeleines, pears, cheese plate, all spectacular. Service was excellent. Attentive, polite, precise and took care of everything without being asked. My favorite Michelin restaurant so far.

Google
Fantastic M Restaurant I was looking for a restaurant to organize my Team event for 24 people. I selected the M even if it was a bit further out of the hypercentre of Lyon. This was clearly the right choice, the food was amazing and had the expect 'whaow effect' on my Team. Food was great, very French, very elegant and the portion size were perfect. The staff was also really nice & super helpful & attentive. To be noted I was worried obviously about the wines they would select (as you can never be sure when you select a wine package, can go either way), but here in fact it was amazing and the wines were really great! Everyone enjoyed them. The M comes highly recommended by me, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
My rating is actually 4.5 stars, taking away half a star for service. The food here is excellent, definitely a Michelin quality restaurant, both of us ordered fish, a salmon and a pollock, both steamed to perfection. I would say that's the best piece of pollock I have ever eaten in my life. The green gaspacho that I start off with is summer in a bowl, bright, tasty, beautiful and oh so refreshing. The service is a little less perfect. I actually witnessed a little argument between two of the staff. Also, I think they might be understaffed that evening. Our food was served promptly though, just to be fair. I would come back for the fist main course again and again.

Yelp
Love the foie Gras with chicken meat, surprisingly very tasty! The glutenfree chocolate caramel dessert was heaven... don't mind coming back. Reservation is recommended

Yelp
Came on a recommendation from a co-worker. Very very very disappointed in the service. Had to flag down the waiter for our wine. Had to flag our waiter for our dessert. Had to remind our waiter for a little of water. Had to flag our waiter for the bill. Other tables seemed to be receiving far more attention and, in fact, came after us and left before us. Extremely, extremely slow and underwhelming service. Appetizers were really great (scallops and braesola). Main dishes were average (Iberia ham, cod). Desserts, in particular the toffee and mousse were worth the wait. Expected a lot more in terms of overall experience. We will not return and cannot recommend.

Yelp
Although the food was quite tasty and refined, it lacked SOUL. Maybe I felt this way because of the awful decor (a sort of "I'm trying to be chic, yet I'm trying to be 70's, and basically I have no taste" mix) and the snooty French attitude I got from the waiters. We ordered a lot of different dishes from the menu (foie gras, escargots, saint jacques, dessert ...) and although I enjoyed all of them, I was bored. One waiter slammed the water jug I had asked for on the table (please let me insert an eyeroll at their French attitude here). We asked for the check at least 20 minutes before they brought it, REPEATEDLY.

Yelp
I have eaten at M Restaurant 3 times now, and each time it has been very good. During my most recent experience I ordered: For appetizer, the poached egg over truffled lentil salad, which was absolutely delicious. For entree, the scallops with pumpkin and chestnut. The scallops were nicely cooked if a bit boring, but the pumpkin and chestnut just tasted like fall, really nice. For dessert, the madeleines which were excellent - light, a bit citrusy, and lovely. The atmosphere is a bit casual which seems incongruent with the food, and unfortunately, they don't have an English menu. But overall, it's an excellent restaurant and highly recommended.

Yelp
Great lunch on the patio. Food was all prepared well and several dishes were outstanding. The ice cream and sorbet that were part of the desserts were especially good. There is a large staff, so you are well tended to. A bit pricy for lunch, but it does feel more elegant in a relaxed way making it a good choice for a special occasion. Not great for vegetarians. I had two courses with fish from the menu of the day. The mascarpone mousse from the menu is wonderful.
