Me and a friend visited this location for lunch for the first time. I ordered the Hong Kong Fried Rice, which had shrimp, sausage, pineapple, cashew, eggs, and onions. The meal was very delicious, and had plenty of flavor. The pineapple's added a very flavorful taste. My friend had the Shanghai Lo Mein Noodles, and her dish was delicious! We also had their Lobster Spring Rolls which were awesome! We were greeted very well upon entering, and the service at the bar was outstanding!

Google
The food was really good. Service was ok. I just didn't like having to see so many dishes just stacked everywhere on the counters and shelves. Otherwise it was nice.

This was my first time going to this restaurant. Believe me I was not disappointed. From the time you walk in and walk out service and atmosphere was phenomenonal. The food delicious my co- workers and myself was happy with everything. I will be back.

My first time having lunch here and I was pleasantly surprised. This is a great hidden gem of a place in Columbia for sushi and other Asian fusion cuisine. I had the red devil roll and rainbow roll both excellent quality, the service and the ambience were also excellent. I’ll definitely will eat here again.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have not set foot in this restaurant. However, last week I had the opportunity to dine there twice for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and quick delivery of piping hot, fresh food, despite the lunch rush. The portion sizes were generous and the value for the price was truly remarkable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious meal.

Google
I had a wonderful time here. This place comes across as upscale with very reasonable expenses. The food and sake were amazing. The overall service was excellent, the servers looked polished and had great manners. Tyler was my server, he was delightful, and I loved his aesthetic. There was no waiting, I walked in on a Monday during dinner, and I was sat almost immediately. I felt comfortable and I enjoyed myself. I have absolutely no complaints. And I look forward to revisiting & exploring more of the menu.

Google
Saw about this pla e online. Decided to go. Got there. Not alot of people. But it was Labor Day. We were seated and greeted nicely. When it was time to order. I believe one of owners came over and talked and helped with order she was nice. The service was good. Everyone seemed nice. The food was good to me. Nice portions. 2ic said hers tasted bland. But overall I thought it was good. And not too pricey. Maybe another visit would give it all 4 stars..

Google
We had lunch here after my nephew's graduation. Due to circumstances beyond our control, or timeline changed- but M Vista staff were gracious and accommodating. We got to enjoy the party room- even though we hadn't booked it! Food is consistently delicious. Our servers went out of their way to make the occasion memorable. Thank you, and we'll be back!

Yelp
I haven't been to M Vista in a few years, but after last night's experience, I may become a frequent flyer. We came in around 8 and were able to grab a few seats at the bar. The bartenders were great and very quickly served us. We started with a few appetizers: the Green Tuna and the Shrimp Wontons in Hot Chili Sauce. The Green Tuna was impressively beautiful and even more delicious. I adored the sauce. We also loved the Shrimp Wontons, but next time we will ask for a little more spice in the sauce. For dinner, we split some sushi and sashimi. The sashimi was all very fresh and cut perfectly. We ordered the Palmetto Roll and the M Vista Roll. We annihilated them both. The Palmetto Roll has just the right amount of sweetness, and the M Vista Roll tasted like a very fancy Rainbow Roll. The service, drinks, and cuisine at M Vista are wonderful. We love the Miyo's brand and know that we can always get a great meal at any of their establishments. We will definitely add this location to our local rotation. If you haven't been, GO!

Yelp
Good service, timely. Good prices. However, the quality is a concern. Jasmine tea, water temp far too high, little burnt- but very good flavor. Edamame appetizer- hard to get the beans open. Curry /basil tofu - barley taste of curry and no basil to speak of. Inconsistent tofu cubes. No heat to the curry. Sesame tofu was soupy and not good consistency. Replaced with lo mein (positive customer service!), but mall noodles are better. Szcheuan beef - plate full of green peppers (good peppers but masks how little beef there is). Good heat level though. Beef is cooked well. I'd order this again.

Yelp
Okay, totally violated my food, so the deluxe rice, I did not get to picture. I did snap a picture of their lobster spring roll. It was way better than I expected it to be. A decent amount of lobster meat, great crunch, and good size. The deluxe rice was delicious as well! It was made fresh and a good portion, especially considering it was lunch. The egg drop soup and their crispy wontons were on point as well. M Vista brought their A game today. The service was great. It wasn't too crowded. I like the lunch vibe is laid-back.

Yelp
Ordered their bibimbop and boneless wings for takeout. The bibimbop was good but nothing special. The wings hardly had any of the soy garlic sauce on them and I had to use the extra bibimbop sauce to get any flavor on them, which ended up working out fairly well. It was a bit pricey but the portion sizes were pretyy good. Just wish the wings had been prepared better.

Yelp
I just delivered for M Vista and walked through the back and what I saw is absolutely disgusting and unsanitary. Meat sitting out of the fridge, cooks cutting raw meat with no gloves, cross contamination with silverware from raw meat to veggies. DO NOT EAT HERE. I WOULDNT BRING MY WORST ENEMY TO EAT HERE.

Yelp
I'm here sitting at the bar writing this review. When I was in college, I worked as a hostess at this restaurant. It's sad to see how the service has become. One of the bartenders is coughing without covering his mouth and is saying profanity and talking with the other bartender about personal things out in the open. The hostess is sitting in a chair coughing nonstop, also not covering her mouth. I've heard multiple comments about tips from other patrons and just chatter about so many things. The one coughing bartender went up to the hostess and was saying "I thought I have covid" "are you sick"? Nobody even checked on me. As soon as the bartender spit his mucus in the trash can I asked for my tab. Nobody asked if I wanted to see a manager or what they can do. They didn't even comp my drinks when i was very obviously upset. Completely disgusting and unaware of their surrounding, I now would never suggest this location to ANYONE. Just hope I don't wake up sick.

Yelp
Hi there! Excellent restaurant in all aspects! Beautiful decor and ambience is upscale. Impeccable service by my server, Albert! Food superb! I ordered several things that I forgot to photograph. Oops. Had miso soup, veggie fried rice, cali roll, yellowtail roll with fish roe, new york roll & I am now stuffed! 5 stars! Addendum: my table was decorated with two real red roses in a vase! Impressive!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with coworkers. Nice menu, good service and the food was very tasty. Will have to come back and try this spot for dinner.

Yelp
I have to go with four stars, because I have very comfortable seating their service to me has always been excellent, and what I order is always good. Which is some for an appetizer sampler with egg drop soup. Their dessert options could be much better. And their ginger dressing falls short of competitive restaurants. It is not thick enough for my taste. It's something so easy to fix. I wish they would fix that.
google avatar

Yelp
Amy and Joe worked so hard to make the wedding reception run smoothly. I was so impressed with them, in particular, because the off sight caterer was running late and they jumped into action. I can't say enough about them.
google avatar

Hannah D.

Yelp
This place was great! I ordered the green tuna appetizer which I loved and I could have eaten 20 of them. The service was good I just wish they had Toro; they didn't know what toro was which was disappointing because it's on the menu online. I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo and it was fresh and delicious! The place was quiet for a Friday night

Yelp
Great food, awesome selection and friendly staff. A small group of us came to M Vista for my birthday and we really enjoyed it. Not everyone wanted sushi so there was a nice variety and happy hour was spot on. The server did not sing happy birthday which was exactly how I wanted it. The sushi was delicious and no one else had anything bad to say about their meals either. If I'm ever back in Columbia, this will be the first place I go.

Yelp
We were in town visiting family and went with them to the weekly Sunday afternoon dinner here. We were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately shown to our tables for our large party. Everything that everyone ordered was delicious. My husband ordered off the sushi menu and was not disappointed. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was delicious. The service was great. She stayed on top of the whole party and had a great personality. You can't go wrong giving this place a try.

Yelp
The food at this establishment is really delicious however Customer service could improve. Before the pandemic we went here quite often for lunch and Allie seems like we were sometimes overlook while waiting to be seated not sure of race played a part but it happened a few times. Took our chances in win again today for lunch and we literally waited 20 minutes To be seated. Once we were seated it appears that our waiter was discombobulated and cannot juggle his tables. Needless to say he did apologize and I do understand staff is limited due to Covid but the overall experience could have been better.
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
I have loved this place for many years but lately, it's gone downhill. I've ordered carry out on two separate occasions and my food has been subpar but the prices have increased. I won't be going back.
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
Your service blows. Waited 20 minutes to be seated for lunch. I know it's tough finding folks but staff could've said something not just leave everyone hanging. Folks walked out. You're losing money Miyo's.

Yelp
This restaurant caters to Asian food lovers! Especially sushi. Today I had the Godzilla roll, mermaid roll and Lobster tempura roll. We also had Thai Basil chicken, chicken fried rice and and Singapore chicken noodles. This was an amazing meal. From start to finish. This was probably the best Godzilla and Lobster tempura I have ever had. Give this place a try if you are in the Columbia SC give this place a try!

Yelp
You'll notice a trend that I love giving 5 Star reviews and don't often go with less. First off, the service was very good and you could tell they really take pride in their preparations. Overall, the cocktails were nice. Refreshing. Not too sweet. We were a group of six... three alumni, my wife and me, and a boyfriend, so very assorted choices of food and beverage. The menu was huge and it took a while to take it all in. In the end up, my wife and I had the Geisha roll to start. Asked for a bit of spice and did get the spice rack thingy like you get at Thai restaurants. It was great. Love the soy paper. Others had spring and summer rolls. Also good. King Pao Chicken and Beef I think was the biggest hit. Good spice, flavorful sauce and ingredients. The rest of us went with the make your own" option. Here is likely where we went wrong. The meat, whether chicken or beef, was absolutely flaccid and flavorless. The fried rice (extra charge) didn't seem fried at all and had no color or flavor. Wife and I did make your own Shrimp Wok with the curry sauce with extra on the side and again with the spice rack. We split it and we were very happy. Others had garlic sauce and another sauce. My daughter sent hers back due to non-fried fried rice and flavorless chicken and shared her BF's Kung Pao and his rice which was great. Others were ok but not enthused enough to come back. Saw some sushi on other tables that looked good. They offered to make something else for my daughter and we wouldn't have time at this point. Is was a Friday night and we had plans. Ambiance was what you'd expect from a Asian dinner place but a bit more upscale. All in all, mixed levels of satisfaction amongst the group. 1 very happy, 2 happy, 3 notsomuch. I might go back and order a specialty Wok which is likely their sweet spot. So, probably more of a 3.5 stars, but an extra .5 for effort, attitude, etc. Just try it. You might like it.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat down town. Good food. Excellent service. Timely manner. Best sushi in Columbia.

Hayes A.

Yelp
From the moment we were greeted, it was clear that this server stands out from the rest. Not only does he have a welcoming presence, but his kindness and personability make the dining experience exceptional. His attentiveness to our needs, combined with a friendly demeanor, set the tone for a fantastic meal. It's rare to find someone who not only excels in service but does so with a genuine smile and effortless charm. The server's handsome appearance is just the icing on the cake. He's a true asset to the establishment, making every patron feel like a VIP. Would dine here again just for the top-notch service. Plus the amazing food.

David K.

Yelp
There's a ridiculous variety of options here.... You'll definitely find something for yourself. I had the black dragon roll as well as a tempura fried tuna roll. They were both made well. Service at the bar was excellent too.

Michael N.

Yelp
Great service, delicious food. Two orders of sushi and a full dinner for under 35$. Make sure you go here.

Yelp
Great customer service. I purchased a M Vista / Miyo's gift card for a friend that got lost in the mail. After a few days doing some research and figuring out how to help me, Ray was able to void the previous gift card and give me a new one. He could have just told me "sorry, not my problem". Thanks Ray!

Yelp
This was delivered via Door Dash (which was quick and the food well handled). The food was not good and it had nothing to do with delivery nor being "to go", it was bland with the exception of the chili sauce on the shrimp wontons and beyond greasy. The veggie spring rolls were still warm when I got them and at first i thought they were plated on some type of sauce. The "sauce" however was an actual puddle of oil. The rolls were leaking oil when i picked one up which was a shame because the filling, though tasteless and mostly shredded cabbage was cooked nicely and still had some crunch to it. The crab wontons lacked the aforementioned oil but the interior was cold and resembled tuna fish salad both in taste and appearance. The shrimp wontons in chili sauce had excellent flavor somewhere between Frank's Buffalo Wing sauce and peanut sauce, unfortunately the sauce couldn't save this train wreck but does garner 2 stars.

Yelp
Great place. Our conversation with the waiter about how he was thinking about being vegan/vegetarian made my day. Not too common for South Carolina. The food was delicious and we had leftovers, which I gobbled up the next day.

Susan L.

Yelp
Food just ok. Restaurant and bathroom are filthy. Needs to close for cleaning asap. I can not eat here again due to lack of service and cleaning standarta

K L.

Yelp
Manager didn't even know what was in the ingreidents in a meal. The meal my sister ordered did not state it had peanuts inside of it- my sister has a severe peanut allergy and we had to leave in the middle of our meal to take her to urgent care. Don't eat here if you want to get allergy-free food and if you want correct menus.

Bruce A.

Yelp
We are going to stop going here. The food comes out cold regularly. Luckily they have the good to go plastic containers. Also the food takes a long time to come out and at lunch this has been a problem. It's a catch 22 if you send it back because it's cold everyone is going to touch the food to see how cold it is. Really too bad we liked this place. The food tastes good but the rice and vegetables are cold from the refrigerator. It could be later in the day after 12:30 the food warms up.

Yelp
Haven't had to leave a one star on a place in a while. Man first and foremost, I ordered through door dash. I was missing a roll and an appetizer. Secondly the sushi I did eat, was just fishy. Wasn't fresh. I ordered general tso chicken. Deff was more of orange chicken. Super horrible experience. I'm a sushi person I eat it at least twice a week. Konnichiwa and there's another one that starts with and I, inkubira or something along those lines. Just wasted 70 bucks in food. I'm sure door dash will refund me.

Yelp
Authentic fresh sushi. Fantastic service. Wonderful setting. A must try when in Columbia!

Yelp
Amazing food! Diverse menu! Great service! Relaxed, casual atmosphere! Highly recommend! 5

Yelp
Arrived a little after 3PM today and by 4:30 PM still had not gotten all of our order. Waitress did not come over to refill drinks or explain the status of our order until we asked. place was not busy so we could not understand the delay. Waitress obviously had gone out for a smoke break because when she came back to the table she "reeked". Would have been nice if manager had acknowledged the delay. This was our first time visiting M Vista in the last 5 years. service has definitely gone down. save your money and look elsewhere for Asian cuisine and excellent customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably my favorite spot for fried rice; well second. The location in Harbison has an amazing salmon fried rice. However, the Carolina fried rice (minus the pork and beef) is amazing. It's always served piping hot and well seasoned. The ambiance is always filled with a murmur of good conversation and clanking utensils.
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
10/10. This was my second time here and I will come every time I go by Columbia! I don't usually eat a lot but I ate literally everything I got here. It is hard to find a spicy tuna roll that is actually spicy, and it sure is here! Highly recommend.

Wayne G.

Yelp
My grandson loves this place. Always good service and a friendly atmosphere. Food is good as well. We will continue to eat hear.

Sandra A.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant! My only complaint, check order before leaving restaurant. Some time the orders are mixed up. The food is excellent

Yelp
Dined here last night and had a wonderful experience all around. Delicious sushi. Fresh and flavorful and well-made. Eggplant main dish was also delicious. The staff was very helpful and attentive. We enjoyed an impromptu concert by a Bulgarian women's choir who had been visiting the restaurant each day this past week and wanted to express their thanks in the best way they could. Definitely recommend Mvista!

Amanda C.

Yelp
The food is always good but the service is even better. It's nice when the staff has a positive attitude and attentive to the customers. The atmosphere was great and very welcoming. Thanks to G-Love and Elijah. They were absolutely the very BEST!! I'll be back!

Yelp
We visited M Vista on Valentine's Day around 6PM and were seated immediately (to our surprise). We ordered the garlic green beans to start, and they were definitely a highlight of our visit. They have a great consistency and are seasoned very well. We both ordered Orange Chicken for an entree, Kelsay had fried rice, and I had the white rice. The orange chicken was good, but on the menu, it indicates that it is a spicy dish. Neither of us thought it was spicy at all, it had more of a sweet flavor. I If you are looking for spice, Kelsay recommends the General Tso's chicken. We've heard great things about their sushi, but we didn't give it a try this visit, maybe next time! Overall the service was great, the food was okay, and the apple martini was pretty good as well.

Kim B.

Yelp
Ate there yesterday for lunch. It was awful!! We all got the chicken skewers and steak skewers. Both were extremely over cooked. I only ate 3 pieces of steak as it was so tuff! We didn't say anything that our waiter because he was very attentive and it wasn't his problem! We just boxed up leftover and out pups loved it. Maybe will try again.

Yelp
We ate here a month ago and really enjoyed it. We are back in town and it was great- again! We enjoyed the wok dish. We chose chicken, garlic, asparagus and added spinach. The miso soup needed to be hotter. The M Cafe sushi roll was very good! Cold beers, nice staff. Give it a try!

Kimberly R.

Yelp
I asked a friend who lives in Columbia for a recommendation for a good sit-down Chinese restaurant. We didn't want to do take out. She suggested M Vista. I read the reviews about long wait times for food and service and was a little skeptical but we tried it anyway. We had a great experience! We went on a Saturday night and were greeted and seated at a table within minutes of walking in the door. Our server came over right away and was attentive throughout the meal. The food was good. I didn't love the pork dumplings but then I'm not a huge fan of pork anyway. The menu said pan fried but I think they were deep fried. My chicken lo mein was made with chicken breast (I hate dark meat!) but I'm still looking for a replacement for the best chicken lo mein I every had. My husband enjoyed his Mongolian beef. All in all a very good experience

Haiqing K.

Yelp
My husband and I attended a birthday party at M Grille this afternoon, and M Vista catered food for the event. These two venues are just one block away from each other - what a nice set up to accommodate an event! The dishes that the host ordered from M Vista included a combination of Chinese and American food, and they were all very tasty. There were several types of sushi including salmon and spicy tuna sashimi, Kung Pao chicken, sour and sweet shrimp, satay beef, curry chicken potstickers, garlic green beans and broccoli, grilled chicken and beef, fried flounder, fried rice, etc. M Vista not only served delicious dishes, but also placed the food in very unique plates, which enhanced the appeal of the atmosphere for the event. I highly recommend M Vista. No matter what your preference is when it comes to food, you will be able to find something that you like at M Vista.

Scott A.

Yelp
I've been at M Vista many times including this week and it is as good as ever, with expertly prepared fresh Asian cuisine with fine service in a comfortable environment. At M Vista the ingredients are always fresh and our meal was prepared well with the right amount of seasoning and temperature. Sushi and sashimi is expertly prepared and superb. Appetizers we had--fried crab wonton, spring rolls and edamame--were delicious. For a great noodle dish ask for chicken chow fun which is not on the menu but a popular requested item you will love. In addition, while desserts at Asian places are usually an afterthought, the dessert selection at M Vista is terrific. Cake was moist and fresh and superb. This is a place good for casual dining as well as business meetings. I saw many local bankers, lawyers and healthcare workers among the lunch crowd as well as families and college students. In short, M Vista doesn't disappoint and a go-to place for excellent dining in downtown Columbia, SC.

Yelp
Went here on a whim when our favorite sushi place was closed for renovations. Nice space, the food was pretty good and the prices were decent. Thy also had a few veggie options which is always appreciated. Pretty standard sushi restaurant but I wouldn't mind coming back in the future!

Connor R.

Yelp
Great sushi. Their secret menu item is perhaps one of the best rolls I've ever had. I frequent this establishment.

Yelp
I am teetering between 3 and 4 stars for this review. If I could give M Vista 3.5 stars I would, but I will settle for 3 stars since I don't think M Vista compares to some of the places I have rated 4 stars. M Vista serves decent Asian cuisine. While they seem to be mainly a sushi restaurant, they have a large menu with many options ranging from sushi to wok and grill specials that span a variety of Asian cuisines, such as Thai, Szechuan, and Malaysian. Located on Lady Street, the restaurant is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking out back. The interior is spacious and the ambiance is nice. Service was also fantastic. Our server was very informative for our first visit and made sure we were well taken care of. We were recommended by a friend and we were certainly impressed initially by our experience, though as our meal went on, the quality of the dishes varied from good to outright bad. We decided to partake in the four course dinner for two, which honestly ended up being more than the actual dishes we decided to get, so the server was nice enough to charge us for the individual items we had instead of the $50 four course dinner. Also, just to note, the server did inform us that ordering sushi would have resulted in about a 40-minute wait for our food. I am not sure if that is the standard, but for a place that does seem to primarily serve sushi, that's a bit of an issue. Anyways, the food was alright overall, again, the quality varied between dishes. The appetizers were good, we got the Malaysian combo, which included satay and potstickers. The miso soup was, well, miso soup. Hard to do that wrong. The avocado crab salad was great! Probably the best part of the meal. My fiancée ordered the chicken basil and it was good, though was more of a curry. I ordered the Carolina fried rice since it seemed to be a popular item and was thoroughly disappointed. It was like any fried rice I could have made at home. For dessert, we had green tea ice cream mochi that was absolutely horrendous. It didn't even seem like mochi, it tasted of plastic and had melted ice cream in the center, no thanks. I am not sure if I would come back. I'm sure they have better options on their menu given its length, but I would prefer spending my time at better and cheaper Asian options locally.

Yelp
My daughter loves sushi. We've been here about 5 times in the last year. I think the menu is slightly overpriced but they do offer a variety of sushi options. Wait staff has never been the best here. Either they're forgetting to bring something or fully ignoring you. The food is good but I admit I'm currently in the process of finding a new sushi spot mainly due to poor service.
