The Movie-Themed Chocolates from Misfit Confections | Eater NY
"Operating under the trademarked name Misfit Confections, Bossett quietly produces tiny-batch, highly imaginative chocolates and confections from Dirt Candy’s kitchen and sells them mostly via Instagram: fillings and combinations include cheddar-caramel popcorn crunch, mayonnaise caramel (featured in a Halloween 'Mirrors' bonbon with nougat and toasted walnuts), and a Twinkie-reminiscent chocolate created as a Die Hard nod; one Die Hard piece called 'Nakatomi Plaza' paired bonito caramel with a rice-and-seaweed crunch. Her first release was an extremely limited Die Hard–inspired Christmas set (12 total) at the end of 2020, followed by themed collections (Thriller for Halloween 2021 and Coming to America for Valentine’s Day), and she keeps production deliberately small because scaling up would make her miserable. Holiday items currently on sale (while supplies last) include a Buddy the Elf snack bar ($6), the Festivus Collection of bonbons with meatloaf caramel and coffee coconut ($22), Holiday Love hearts with peanut butter and banana pudding ($8), and Jamaican-style sorrel truffles ($5); she emphasizes staying creatively unpredictable rather than designing exclusively for an upper-middle-class, White audience." - Charlotte Druckman
UPDATE: OMG. I pre-ordered their apple pie for Thanksgiving and holy moly it's the best pie I ever had. The crust is flaky like a slightly crisper croissant. The apples were obviously fresh and didn't end up mushy. It's literally so good that I had to post about it halfway through eating it. I'm so happy I bought the pie!
This is the best chocolate shop around! Each chocolate is so beautiful and well balanced. The little desserts they have are just as divine (peach cheesecake yummm). It's a good thing I don't live that close by or I would spend way too much money on treats. My favorite chocolate is the bayleaf one, which may sound weird but it's so good! Their caramel centered chocolates are really good as well even though I'm typically not a caramel person. Oh, the owners are so patient and polite! This place is honestly the best.

Heard Jonathan at a presentation about business and chocolate at Front Range Community College. Appreciated the ability to learn about the business that his wife and him lead. To hand make delicious chocolates the way they do, the time it takes to make each chocolate comes through in the flavor. I love how creative the flavors are.
They are peanut tree nut free and safe. Jonathan has family with severe allergy and is very trustworthy about it!
So unique and delicious. I tried the burnt passionfruit and the lemonade, all I can say is WOW!!!! Amazing for gifts!!!

Best place in the area BY FAR for pastries or truffles. You know it’s good when you’re spending a Saturday afternoon to write a review without reward or prompting.
Everything about this lovely, family-owned business exceeds expectations. Their passion for flavors and presentation has led to a delectable lineup of treats which they continue to build upon.

Haven't even tried their delicious works of art yet, but I can say all of their communication/correspondence and overall customer service has been above and beyond! I found them on Etsy and was delighted to see that they were local! Will be updating this review and anticipate showering them with praise further. I learned you can order directly from their website, or visit their local shop as well!

The most incredible chocolates! They are so beautiful, creative in their flavors, and taste amazing. The family that runs the shop has always been so kind as well - shoutout to their little daughter who recommended the caramel one, it was a hit!

Friendly, Great presentation! Fancy Lil Gem. Lots of original flavors that I am excited to try! The milk chocolate bar was very nice, smooth, not overly sweet. I tried a toffee sample and was surprised at how fresh it tasted and it was easy on the teeth.. by that I mean other toffee I have had was made very hard or maybe it's harder cuz it's been sitting on the shelf at the store. Either way I learned the difference today.

Yelp
Very friendly and great chocolate. They retrieved a receipt for me from a week prior when I had mailed chocolates (along with other gifts) to a family member and it took much longer than the overnight delivery I had paid for, so I was able to be reimbursed by USPS.

Yelp
I bought some chocolates for a backyard party. At the end of the party, I got sick of hearing compliments about how beautiful the chocolates were and how amazing they tasted. Burnt passionfruit was my favorite flavor. Oh, did I mention that the staff is very nice and friendly?

Yelp
Great chocolate and such a cute store and a lot of variety. Mainly chocolate but they do have some ice cream in a case. It's great to come here for a bday gift or anniversary if someone likes chocolate. Choices like smoked margarita, lemonade, and other yummy choices. We really enjoyed our chocolates. But the biggest downside was how small they were.
Pricing for 4 is $13 plus tax. But they are more sample size. I have traveled places for chocolates and I think this place has smallest chocolates. I typically go to Miettes and they are same cost so that's fine. But just a bit bigger. That's my only criticism for this place. Because of that, I'm not sure I would be back. Cause of how small the pieces are. But I loved the taste of them. It's just small pieces.

Yelp
Wonderful rich chocolate. I always stop in after surviving Costco. Beautiful handmade chocolates. The husband and I enjoy them and we frequently give them as gifts. Husband wife business and sometimes their little one is there. Open kitchen concept so you can see what they are working on that day. I've cream treats too!

Yelp
We bought the handpainted chocolates as gifts for a wedding. They were a huge hit! We strongly recommend the chocolates and the mango candy.

Yelp
Really delicious chocolate and also so beautiful! We also tried their amazing marshmallows and Aztec hot cocoa mix (great hot cocoa with a little spice!). So glad this place opened so close to us before Christmas!

Yelp
Highly recommend this locally owned chocolatier! Husband and wife run (with occasional help from toddler) and they take so much pride in their work. Their truffles are outstanding! Today, I left with a homemade s'mores kit + more truffles. This is a special treat to enjoy their confections!

Yelp
My son gave me a box of artisan truffles and confectioner treats as a birthday gift. Truffles were beautiful and I almost hated to eat them! The confection treats were tasty with good flavor and not overly sweet. Just ordered truffles and hot chocolate with homemade marshmallows for a gift. Can't wait to try the hot chocolate

Yelp
Exquisite chocolate. One piece savored was an experience. Was waiting to float (just saw Wonka right before we went there). Lovely shop and the toddler pointed out her favorite which I got. Great shop. Don't miss it. We all want locally owned businesses to thrive. This one has the good stuff!

Yelp
No better Chocolate in the Denver area. Extremely artistic pieces too. Check out their web site, order on line or visit the store. You don't want to miss their sweets.
