"Meaning ‘come’ in the Southern language, ‘Maadae’ invites you to enjoy delightful seafood in a welcoming atmosphere. Supporting local Chumphon fishermen and sourcing seasonal organic produce, their menu rotates with fresh ingredients. The evening selection offers diverse options, including superb freshly grilled seafood paired with a spicy sauce." - Michelin Inspector

The dish has a good flavor and is not overly spicy. This may not the authentic flavor, possibly because it has been altered to appeal to people from other countries. The components that are utilized are of high quality and freshness. The shop has a nice appearance, however it can be a little on the tiny side. Because there are not a lot of seats available, you should make your reservation in advance. Additionally, due to the location of the shop, it could be a little bit challenging to get a parking spot. In general, it is not considered to be bad.

Amazing seafood dishes cooked to perfection! Love the sardines and pomelo salad! Definitely you need to make a reservation or be ready for super long wait ! It’s super popular with the locals Great wine selection to accompanied with the dishes. First spot that has wine by the glass I have found in Chiang Mai Definitely be back agin next in town :-)

I was lucky to get a table without a reservation because I travel alone, but you should really try to make a reservation in advance since there not many tables. The food is great, the mood is super cozy, and the staff are super friendly. But I have to talk about their homemade cola. That was one of the best beverages I’ve ever tasted. Does it taste like Coca Cola? No. This is way better! It’s kind of sweet but mostly it has a nice acidity and all the flavors from the spices are very rich. It’s a must to try if you’re here.

Probably Chiang Mai’s best restaurant, if you like fish. The atmosphere is authentic. The food is delicious. The drinks are wonderful. Everything is cooked straight next to you in the open kitchen over open fire. Truly skilled chefs are in a perfect synchronization with wonderful staff serving you a great meal. Don’t be afraid, if you have no reservation, the wait will be worth it!

Coal grills were outside, drinks were delicious and I appreciated the full page of drink cocktails that were non alcoholic though if you drink they have all kinds of wine and alcoholic cocktails too. The food was amazing, and it’s a nice touch that the kitchen is outside where you can see everything. The fish was so fresh and delicious.

Amazing little seafood place serving up modernized Thai seafood classics. Crab fried rice: not oil and lots of crab meat. Must try. Crab omelette: needed more crab as the eggs overpowered Grilled fish over charcoal: got the king fish. Well cooked. Meat was flaky and served with Thai green seafood sauce. Squid in squid ink: rich, bold. Bitterness of the inn paired well with the tamarind Pomelo salad: refreshing, and tamarind and lemongrass added s Thai punch.

Amazing honey natural wine . I like the ceviche dish and their squid stir fried with krill is chef kiss 🤌🏼. The rest of the dishes are alright. Nothing impressive for a Thai tongue like mine.

Perhaps we went with higher expectations, but lunch was disappointing. Went for the recommended pomelo salad, but it was not available. Ordered the catch of the day, which was described on the menu as fried fish - we asked for more details and the server was unable to elaborate even after checking - and the resulting small bite-sized whiting were hard and crunchy. The fried squid with black ink was very nice. For dessert, the sago pudding with coconut milk was a delicious experience, but the purple potato ice cream was served in a takeaway package and had not been properly stored as it was separated and full of ice crystals. (We were here on February 28 and are posting the review a month later.)
