Maadae Slow Fish Kitchen

"Meaning ‘come’ in the Southern language, ‘Maadae’ invites you to enjoy delightful seafood in a welcoming atmosphere. Supporting local Chumphon fishermen and sourcing seasonal organic produce, their menu rotates with fresh ingredients. The evening selection offers diverse options, including superb freshly grilled seafood paired with a spicy sauce." - Michelin Inspector

Well-cooked and seasoned fish. Sauces were bright, flavorful, and addicting. Very pleasing dining expereience, made even exceptional with refreshing whites on the side. Would like to try more of the honey wines and different menus next time.

The dish has a good flavor and is not overly spicy. This may not the authentic flavor, possibly because it has been altered to appeal to people from other countries. The components that are utilized are of high quality and freshness. The shop has a nice appearance, however it can be a little on the tiny side. Because there are not a lot of seats available, you should make your reservation in advance. Additionally, due to the location of the shop, it could be a little bit challenging to get a parking spot. In general, it is not considered to be bad.

Highly rated spot so decided to try it out! I made a reservation 48 hours in advance and managed to get a spot at 6:00pm. If you make a reservation, you’ll sit inside, and if you don’t, you’ll sit outside. I ordered the charcoal fish 15 minutes before ordering my other dishes as I was still deciding on which items. All 3 of my dishes ended up coming out together! - Yellow queen fish 600g - 10/10 - delicious!Enough for 2-3 people honestly. It wasn’t dry nor was it difficult to remove from the bones. Some parts of the skin (top) may be difficult to eat so be careful. - Hor mok pla - 9/10 - It has a kick but a good kick! I ate it with the fish and the spice mellows out. The paste wasn’t dry as what others say. - Crab fried rice- 4/10 - I had some kind of shell (crunchiness) in the dish. It’s nice seeing small bits of crab in my fried rice but the spice/flavor wasn’t there. - coconut spago - 3/10 - the coconut milk was really salty. The spago was sweet. Even when mixed together, the salt took over. Price - it’s on the pricier side. The fish I worth it though. Interior - it’s warm… went in and it was 28C, as we left it became 29C. Saw multiple people wiping their face while eating. I’ve read flies being outside but I didn’t expect it to be inside as well. I had to shoo flies 4 times during my dinner.

Such a cool spot! Almost every dish is made from fish, with a menu full of tasty and varied Thai flavors. Recommend African pompano grill & flora lime drink ~

This is a Southern Thai dish with rich, well-balanced flavors—not too spicy. My only complaint is the portion size, which is quite small. The price is also a little on the high side. It’s best to make a reservation beforehand, as it can get quite busy.

Lunch menu has much less choices compared to dinner time. Highly recommend to go early as “slow fish” probably means they slowly cook😂. Food does take time so if you go late, you may have to wait for a while. Pomela salad was recommended from many people in google review however personally think the taste was too strong. Recommend booking in advance. There is parking lot nearby 30thb per hr
