"Meaning ‘come’ in the Southern language, ‘Maadae’ invites you to enjoy delightful seafood in a welcoming atmosphere. Supporting local Chumphon fishermen and sourcing seasonal organic produce, their menu rotates with fresh ingredients. The evening selection offers diverse options, including superb freshly grilled seafood paired with a spicy sauce." - Michelin Inspector

Love the place! We literally ordered every food on the menu! Some dishes could taste alright but most of them are super delicious. Highly recommend to come with a group of friends so you can enjoy as many dishes as you can. We also ordered dessert which made from the real sako tree and they have homemade cola. Definitely going back there again! Highly recommend for those who wish to escape the normal northern local food!

I came here alone, so I just ordered two dishes. Personally, I liked the food. I enjoy a variety of flavors, and everything had a nice mix of sweet, salty, and bold tastes. The pomelo dish reminded me of yum from Isan food, a bit sweet and salty with that kick of kapi flavor, which I really liked. I also ordered a 600g fish. Yes, you can squeeze some lime over it and dip it in seafood sauce, then eat it with rice. So good. The only downside is the price. It’s not exactly budget friendly, but I can understand. *** I recommend booking before you go to save time and avoid long queues. They do accept walk-ins, but you might have to wait a while.

Been here twice and loved it both times! Delicious food, good selection of wine and the service is great! **FYI: The restaurant can get very busy and most people call in to reserve ahead of time. I've seen people who did not reserve the table and just walked in to wait for a table and they definitely did not look happy! Even looked around and gossiped about tables that they felt like should hurry up and leave for them. So I 100% advise to book your table before you go so you can really have an enjoyable evening**

Small seafood focused restaurant. Catch of the day varies. Grilled fish seasoned very simply and served with thai sauce. The stir-fried prawns with petai were very tasty. Ceviche could have be cut larger, pieces were too small for good texture.

Delicious place. Food was fab, a little pricey but hey. My fave was the shrimp in garlic sauce. Soooo great. The best thing was the chilled glass of Duoro Rose to accompany it! Not easy to come by in Thailand.

Had a great dinner experience here on Sunday night an hour before closing. Ordered the Pomelo Salad w/ Yellow Queenfish and the Fried Barracuda. I enjoyed the citrus, tart, and sweet seafood dishes I ordered. It was a refreshing dinner after eating heavy curries and fried street food for previous meals. I should note that if your palate opposes strong citrus/tart forward flavors, you may not enjoy the dishes I ordered. Service was friendly and great. Come early if you want to try their grilled fish because they sell out if you come later.

I can see why this place is popular. Almost every dish was a crowd pleaser. I especially loved the pomelo fish salad, ceviche, and hor mok pla. The crab omelette was a little disappointing, with not much crab. They have a good alcohol selection including honey wine from chiangdao-based day drinkers collective. Best to make reservations, especially on weekends.

Food was delicious. We went on a Monday Lunch and didn't have to wait. Decent wine list. Had a Riesling to go with the spicy food. Good: Fried Egg, Stir-fried fish with Ginger, Stir-fried Squid with black ink, pomelo salad.
