Google
Visited after the recent inclusion in the Houston Chronicle Top 100 Restaurants (it was #11). It was extremely good. The food is great. Ordered the vegetable spring rolls, wontons, tilapia and General Tsao chicken. Everything was very tasty and prices were reasonable. My only complaint is that it needs to decide what kind of restaurant it wants to be with regards to the service. I ordered at the counter while others sat down and ordered to a waiter. If it's going to be the latter, then there was just one waiter for about 10 tables. With this kind of food, they can easily be a formal restaurant. Other than that, it was great!

Google
An amazing find all by accident! Delicious food at great prices! Beef, Singapore Vermicelli, General Tsao chicken, and fried chicken wings with shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. Great stuff! June 25, 2018...Back again... It's been too long!

Google
We randomly stopped in to try this new restaurant and came away really enjoying it. The grilled chicken bahn mi was very fresh and flavorful served with Pho fries. Also, the brussel sprouts are a must-try!!

Jacob Thomas

Google
Beautiful and minimal decor. Counter ordering and food is brought to the table. The prices were very reasonable...9 bucks for my dumpling entree and 12 for the Singapore noodles. I know that the food was freshly made because they were able to make the Singapore noodles vegetarian. What really stole the show were the dumplings which were placed in a delicate rice wine sauce and garnished with thin slices of cherry tomatoes and jalapenos... The meat filling was well seasoned, the skin was light and airy and the sweet and spicy sauce just lifted me to heaven. I'll definitely be back here soon. Oh and skip the Sweet sake rice if you don't like fermented stuff.

Google
Extremely friendly staff, everything on the menu is delicious. Definitely worth trying, I highly recommend!

Google
Maba never disappoints me! I'm Asian and whenever I'm craving for Chinese "Tai Chao" or rice dishes, I will definitely check this place out. The place is very underrated and little crowd shouldn't deter you from giving them a try as they are only a few months old in town. Try the fried tilapia fish and ask for extra fish sauce and drizzle it on top of white rice. It will blow your mind, I promise! Oh and the wanton soup and the Trung sister is a must try too! Oh, also don't be discourage if you need to order from the counter and take your own utensils, it's just how they work at the moment.

Google
Service is super slow. Food came out in 30 minutes. Not good for ppl with limited lunch breaks. Good portions.

Great place, fantastic food and excellent prices. Great to have some new veriety in Midtown. Will definitely come back. Salmon and osso bucco salad were amazing

Yelp
I loved taste of mulan! We initially went for the All You Can Eat Dumplings, however, we found that we got more variety just ordering form their dim sum menu. They have an extensive dim sum + dumpling menu (steamed, pan fried, deep fried) in addition to their other entrees. If you're interested in the AYCE deal, it's $20 per person but limited to the steamed dumplings only. Their spicy wontons were superb! And the curry chicken puffs were really good as well. Portions for the rice and noodles are generous and can probably be shared between 2-3 people. If you like dim sum, this is a great place to go with multiple people and share plates. Vibes were great, they played lively music. Service was quick. No wait time during lunch time during a weekday.

John W.

Yelp
I had a very good experience at taste of mulan the dumplings were great and super cheap. We tried a bunch of dumplings here & they were all awesome. And so cheap too! The pork and chive boiled dumplings were good. The pan fried ones were just as good too. We also got the bbq pork buns which were good too. The highlight was the crispy prawn cheung fun which was phenomenal. Super crunchy and flavorful, these were great. I'd come back just for these alone (and the 18 count pork and chive boiled dumplings) The restaurant itself was pretty nice and the service was good. Overall, great food and even better prices. This place is worth a stop

Lalanica C.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday pretty early in the evening and it was very quiet. We sat outside to enjoy the cool weather- clearly no one has been outside in a minute. Dust and pollen for the season sprinkling the furniture. For being one of the few (only?) options for dim sum within the loop it was truly ok, but not necessarily one I'm running back to. Maybe a solid 3.5 for overall rating? We ordered quite a few things to share and were sufficiently filled with not a bad price tag at all. The beef curry puff was rarely memorable, and the sui mai too.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to try a new place for dim sum and came across Taste of Mulan. I would personally say that I wouldn't come here for the dim sum. The items that we tried was not good as something you could get in Chinatown. However, they had AYCE 20 dollars steam dumplings that were good if you like dumplings. Service was great and I even saw them give a homeless man a drink which I thought was sweet.

Erin P.

Yelp
Went here from a Tik Tok my friend saw and planned on getting the AYCE but decided we weren't hungry enough. We split the Pork and chive dumplings (both boiled and fried), BBQ Pork Buns, and the Shrimp Cheung Fun, which we got on a whim since our waiter recommended them so highly. The boiled dumplings were fantastic, but the shrimp cheung fun was to die for, we almost got another order but decided we were all stuffed. Like John said, I would come back for these alone. The place was pretty quiet and the service was good. Overall, you get amazing food for a low price, would highly recommend.

Thuy V.

Yelp
Wasn't sure what to expect when our relatives said we would have dim sum here. It just looked so clean and modern. We ordered some larger plates and smaller dimsum off menu and everything was pretty darn good. We came around 1:30-2pm on a Sunday and thought it would be busier but it wasn't which was great for us. Things came out sporadically so we always had something to eat and finish. I enjoyed the black bean ribs the best, and it came out last.

Nate C.

Yelp
Better than average food. Worse than average service. I visited Midweek, midday. There were only two tables occupied when I arrived. I was promptly seated. My order was taken promptly. I had the Mapo Tofu lunch entree with white rice and hot and sour soup. The price was right at 12.99. The order came out fast. The food tasted great, but for an entree touted as "mouth-numbing spicy" I actually thought the hot and sour soup was more spicy. In spite of that strong start described above, the service just fell apart. I never saw my waitress again. Never checked by. Never refilled the drink. Never even brought the check. I finally just walked up to the hostess/cashier station without one. I will come back for the food.

Yelp
Tried this place during Houston Restaurant Week and was pretty disappointed. The interior of this place is really nice and the staff is super friendly and helpful, but the food was mediocre at best. Course 1: Rainbow Shrimp which was pretty good, but I got tired of the taste after awhile, and the Sweet and Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs. The ribs taste like something my dad is able to make at home. Course 2: Seafood/Meat Lover Dim-Sum Medley and Xiao Long Bao. These were all alright at best, but if I had to choose the Black Caviar Dumpling would be my favorite. Course 3: The Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin was a tad too salty and the portion size was rather small. The Braised shrimp and Egg Tofu was surprisingly good, but also tastes like something that can be made at home. Course 4 (Dessert): The Konjac Jelly was good, though would have tasted better a little more chilled, and the Salted Egg Sesame ball was alright at best. The salted egg flavor was not strong enough. We also ordered some a la carte items like Siu Mai, Har Gow, Crispy Shrimp, and Cheung Fan. The Cheung Fan was the best, everything else was rather mediocre. Overall an alright experience.

Mirrer S.

Yelp
The first time I had steamed ribs with edamame underneath, I was okay with taro and pumpkin, but edamame was something I had never seen before. Two stars for the dishes, but the service was good, so I added one more star.

Alina P.

Yelp
This is my first time here and I'm very impressed it's very clean and the wait staff is very attentive always refilling your drinks and asking if you need anything else . Now let's talk about the food we had we tried the hot and sour soup and it was delicious but their DUMPLINGS were WOOOOOW great quality and flavor and they were so goood the chicken and cabbage were pink too cute I love this place our waiter Patrick was friendly and always asked if we need anything and the Manager was very profesional and took his time to explain the menu to us . I would be coming here again a lot .

A A.

Yelp
Nice staff, plenty of seating and menu options. Food was ok, not bad, but not memorable. Most items were prepared to be bland without seasoning or a sauce, and they had soy sauce and chili oil on the side, not my preference. No sriracha or similar sauce available.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Most of the dishes that I tried were pretty good. I appreciated the smoky flavor from the truffle beef fried rice, but there was no truffle essence. The dim sum dishes all had good flavor & ingredients were all fresh. It can get pricey though, and I'm used to getting good dim sum for much cheaper in chinatown. Good for when you're in the area and craving dim sum though!

Maria N.

Yelp
decent dimsum for midtown. service was good - simple and easy. we sat outdoors and they accommodated my dog! always a plus it was $40 for all of this so it is a little pricier but it sure beats having to drive all the way to chinatown! shrimp balls sticky rice short ribs in garlic sauce pork and shrimp shu mai spicy wontons (not pictured) was prob our least favorite. it was more peanut buttery vs spicy will be back to try more food as they recently changed their name and think some of their menu items have changed too

Danielle C.

Yelp
I love dim sum but- This place didn't have as many items i would have hoped for. The best item was the spicy wontons. Everything was just okay. Service was a little slow but overall, the service was good. We had the entire restaurant to ourselves. We ordered about a variety of things about $200 worth. Nothing made me feel like I had to come back. The restaurant decor was nice, very simple. Overall it's an okay place to eat. Plenty of parking outside. Their menu had no cocktail which was a bummer.

Bri R.

Yelp
The parking is easy, right in front. Service is great, our waitress was very enthusiastic,, & the food was delicious in our opinion.

Mariel T.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and I wasn't blown away, but it wasn't bad! We got the 3 treasures of the world and the Beef Ho Fun. It was better than other delivery options in the area.

Angelique H.

Yelp
Went tonight with my husband and everything from the food to the service was great. It was cute inside. Everything we ordered was amazing and the staff was very attentive. The food was trendy yet still managed to keep very traditional flavors.. will be coming back and bringing a few others with me

Maria E.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this restaurant but it unfortunately fell a bit flat. Nothing was bad but I definitely felt like each dish was missing something. I found the textures to be executed really well but the flavors could have used some work. I'll go into detail about a few of the dishes that we tried. -Pumpkin Puffs: I wanted to love the pumpkin puffs and I was halfway there. The flavor and texture of the puff itself was great. Well-fried with a mild sweetness. However, the stuffing fell short for me. I felt like it needed more of a savory and meaty flavor to balance the pumpkin sweetness of the outside. Our waitress told us that it had duck inside but it tasted vegetarian (mushroom or eggplant, maybe). Either way, it didn't have enough flavor. I think a BBQ pork or a salty duck filling could work really well. -Mongolian Beef: We asked for a milder spice level and it was a perfect amount of spice however that's all it was. There wasn't any flavor to the dish outside from the spice. The sauce was thin and it tasted pretty bland. I've had significantly better versions of this dish in the past. -Dry Sautéed String Beans: I usually love this dish but I wasn't a huge fan of their version. I order it because I love the dry texture of the beans however they doused them in sauce. My favorite items were the Xiao Long Bao and the Shrimp Stuffed Cheung Fun. They weren't great enough to make up for the other disappointments however. The service was friendly and the vibe was pleasantly casual. They have a small patio but it wasn't open (due to the midday heat, I assume). We brought our 7-month-old and saw a couple other babies as well. Parking was easy although we came in the early afternoon on a Saturday. They have several spots specifically assigned to this restaurant.

Yunan Y.

Yelp
Fantastic Chinese Dim Dum restaurant. My friend told me, the previous One dim Dum location upgraded. Stop by today with friends, from menu to food, totally bring me a fresh taste. I will be back definitely. My kids would love their fri rice and dim sum.

Chris D.

Yelp
Taste of Mulan has an extensive menu selections but we opted to try the little dim sum dishes. Dim sum is like a Chinese version of brunch and English tea. Regarding the dim sum, I am going to compare to the standard Cantonese style dim sum I am familiar with. Their dim sum style here may be from a different region. To start out with, the tea pot came with just instant tea bags and I am not used to this short cut at any respectable Chinese restaurant, especially during dim sum. Dumplings were good and cool presentation of the orange colored pumpkin fried dumpling and green colored dumpling. The chicken feet was disappointing, bland and not tender. Dim sum dishes were expensive, we spent near $70 for 2 during lunch and still not full. If you live in the Midtown area, it is a solid authentic Chinese restaurant, has some interesting dim sum dishes but I would say dim sum is not their forte.

J T.

Yelp
Delicious food! There are numerous options for your dim sum and entrees preferences. Pumpkin puffs, soft shell crab with salted egg yolk, prawn and pork siu mai, and so many other delicious items. The service is friendly. If you're looking for a dim sum experience similar to Chinatown, this is not the place for you.

Mina M.

Yelp
Beef Tenderloin! So tender!! So good!! Everything I had here was very good - including the service!

Dustin F.

Yelp
We ate alot of the Dim Sum and all of it was delicious. The soup dumplings was easily the best one though. Nice atmosphere and very good staff. Nice place to come if you love Dim Sum.

Edward B.

Yelp
The Stuffed Youtiao Cheung Fun (5/5) is excellent! I'm a big fan of the dish. The chicken dish I tried had too much sauce, so beware.

Moni T.

Yelp
Service: We came here on a Friday night at around 6pm, the restaurant was very quiet and peaceful, we were seated right away. Our servers were very sweet and attentive, food was brought out in a timely fashion. Parking was easy and it is free, in the heart of Mid-town Houston. Food: The food was impeccable, definitely at the equivalent level with some Michelin-starred dim sum places I have tried in Asia. Every dish is artfully crafted, Pumpkin puffs and curry chicken puffs: both have mochi-based dough, fresh, crispy, crunchy on the outside, juicy and savory filling on the inside. Definitely worth a try, plus look how cute they are! Spareribs with garlic sauce and chicken feet with black bean sauce: both are traditional and classic dim sum dishes, you can't have dim sum without those two. The meat was tender, soft, juicy and flavorful. Pea shoots crabmeat dumplings and mushroom dumplings: delicate, freshly steamed, the fillings are so unique, you can't get it at any other dim sum places. Love the presentation of the dumplings, it is such a treat for the eyes and stomach. Highly recommend this place, come here not only for the food but for the presentation and experience of those artfully crafted Chinese-style tapas. Each dish is perfect to share with your friends and family, you will get to try a little bit of everything, the price is very reasonable!

Jordana G.

Yelp
Awesome food - terrible service and incredibly slow kitchen. Food gets 5 stars and service gets 1. But the food was good enough to bump to a 5. Gorgeous and delicious. On the plus side, order the lovely chicken curry pear shaped things. Marvelous crunch and flavor. The Singapore noodles are a dream of glassy noodle flavor and texture. This is the prettiest dim sum I've ever had. Many items were garnished with various colors of caviar. All the dim sum was delicious but you must order the black morel shrimp dumplings and shrimp and chive, too. The $5 house wine is a deal. The house white goes great with the food. I'll be back. The slow service will no doubt annoy me but I will know what delights await if I'm patient.

Ally H.

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant. We had chrysanthemum tea and did several dim sum dishes. Fried rice, pumpkin puff, radish cake, xiao long bao, chicken curry puff. I think the radish cake, pumpkin puff, and chicken curry puff were my favorites. The puffs were cute because they looked like a little pumpkin and a pear. Staff was very polite and helpful. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Each dim sum included 3 items. I'd definitely one back for the pumpkin puff!

Vy T.

Yelp
I was looking for some congee on a Tuesday and came across Taste of Mulan on trusty Yelp. We come in at around 6:00pm, there was one other table there and we had the other half of the restaurant to ourselves. I loved the hot Jasmine tea, it brings back memories of family meals, and the tea stayed hot in the pot the entire time. I got the congee and chicken feet in black bean sauce, definitely coming back for dim sum when this wisdom tooth pain goes away! My husband got the General Tso, super fresh, veggies cooked to perfection, protein wasn't over cooked and it was flavorful! I loved the congee so much I ordered one to go! We will definitely be back for dim sum!

Braden J.

Yelp
Came here after an invite from a friend. Solid place with good dim sum selection. Atmosphere: Modern style restaurant with Asian decor. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Food: There is a large selection of various foods so it can be a little overwhelming, but fortunately there are pictures to get a better idea of what to get. My friend and I got the basic dim sum dishes such as shumai and chicken feets. We did also get a special buttered blue crab. All very tasty and filling at a good price Service: The server we had was very helpful, again with the large menu the sections can be overwhelming and hard to choose but she ended up helping us a few times in what to choose. Overall a solid restaurant with a solid dim sum selection, certain worth a look if you are in the area and craving for some of those delicious dishes at a good price.

Richard N.

Yelp
We have been here many times but this is the first time we experienced such terrible service or the lack thereof. The food, thankfully, was the only saving grace from this service. Our waiter never came by to check up on us. We had to get up each time to ask for extra napkins, water, togo containers, and our check. We even had to hunt down someone to charge our bill. Basically almost a self service visit, minus physically charging the credit card. We will not be back which is so disappointing, because this was one of our favorite dim sum places in town. We have always had amazing and attentive service here. Staffing was fully sufficient so it's inexcusable to say otherwise. We have reached out to the business and left public reviews to let them know, but they lamely blamed it on staff shortage. If they didn't spend their time on the phone or talking to each other, maybe they can service the customers better.

Jacob D.

Yelp
Came at lunch time on weekday with a group of 4. Seemed like they had some waiter handling the tables for the whole business. Maybe get her some help, but other service and Parking were fine. Ordered a ton of small shareable from the dim sum menu and they all came out around the same time. Quality ranged from just right to slightly over done, and there was a nice variety of textures. My main critique would be many of the dumplings tended to have a similar taste, you could be forgiven for thinking they were the same in a blind taste test.

Jesmin N.

Yelp
We stopped by this place while wedding dress shopping for my sister-in-law. Of the items we tried, some were a hit, and some were a miss. The shrimp ball and siu mai were both good. The black caviar mushroom dumpling was good. I had high expectations for the edamame dumpling because it's generally one of my favorite things to get if it's on a menu. Unfortunately this one had a grainy texture that wasn't pleasing. I wasn't a fan of the mushroom dumpling but my brother enjoyed it. The truffle beef fried rice barely had any truffle flavor and needed more seasoning. Service was quick and staff was friendly. I did love their chili oil - perfect pairing with all the dumplings.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
I would recommend coming here only on the weekends for dim sum in order to ensure that dishes are fresh. They do offer dim sum every day all day, but if you come on a weekday when there aren't many patrons everything tastes like it's been refrigerated/frozen and reheated and the meat is tough and tastes old. If you're coming outside of normal dim sum hours (weekend mornings) I would suggest ordering from their regular menu instead. I've seen a lot of complaints about the service here, but either it was never a problem or it's been fixed. The service is very attentive even when it's busy and we didn't have any issues with promptness or kindness after multiple visits. A lot of the decoration of their dim sum dishes are similar to Yauatcha which was an upscale dim sum restaurant in the Galleria area (I believe a chain from New York). There are mushroom pumpkin puffs made to look like little adorable pumpkins, etc. Recommendations: - BBQ Pork Buns - Pumpkin Puffs - Crispy Beef Puffs - Xiao Long Bao - Har Gau - Shrimp Balls - Pork and Shrimp Buns - Tea - it is served by the pot and not by the person which is not common for dim sum locations. This location is in midtown which is very convenient for those who don't want to make the trek to Chinatown. The ambiance in general is also much nicer than a lot of dim sum locations; it's clear the location has very modern decorations and furnishings and is maintained well. Pristine. Parking is also available and pretty easy to find in the lot associated.

CB T.

Yelp
The pros: Service was prompt. Even at lunchtime, the atmosphere was soothing. The cons: All that aside, the food was not good. It was bland and lacked flavor. The braised spareribs were expensive ($19) for an appetizer portion. The meat was fatty and chewy. The pan fried chicken dumplings were flavorless. I would've had a much more rewarding experience at Panda.

Alex W.

Yelp
The sweet and sour soup is top rung. Best I have eaten this side of the Atlantic. Also the lotus-wrapped sweet rice dim sum. Every dim sum dish is delicate and high gourmet level. All in all, good stuff!

Mercedes S.

Yelp
Wow! Blown away with how clean and welcoming this restaurant is. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the staff from the beginning was incredible! My water was never half full, when I was done with a plate they removed them immediately and constantly made sure I had everything we needed. The Dim Sum was phenomenal, I loved the vegetable pan fried dumplings and the puffy BBO pork dim sum. They also we're celebrating the lunar new year and came around with a box after we paid and we got to draw a card in celebration of the new year; we won a gift card for next visit. I thought this was very thoughtful. Great dining experience

Dat N.

Yelp
Came back for the Memorial Day dinner. They said they were busy so some dishes were out, so we had to choose dishes that were out of our comfort zone. It turned out to be horrible. Three of our dishes were incredibly greasy. The Bake BBQ Pork Puffs were too greasy that we believed that they were frozen buns and thrown into the fryer. The shrimp balls were ok, a bit salty but again way too greasy. Same thing with the Shrimp Stuffed Youtiao Cheung Fun, which I love it last time we came. The Pea Shoot crabmeat Dumplings were ok, but I don't think I would order again. The only dish that we actually liked were the Congee. Overall, I definitely won't suggest anyone to come here after they have a busy lunch.

Omar M.

Yelp
Pretty authentic spot despite it not being in Houston's Chinatown. Typical trendy joint with higher prices that come with. The dishes were pretty fresh, but the XLBs were a tad chewy for us. Everything else was great and my family was satisfied. Staff was distanced and so the service wasn't the best. Not very friendly and seemed bored. But they did their job I suppose.

Ivy L.

Yelp
The dim sum here is actually really good and high quality, which makes the prices a bit higher but the bad reviews are definitely just for the service! We came around 11:45am on a weekday and there were only 3-4 other parties in the restaurant. It took them a bit to take our order and then almost another 45 minutes to bring the food! Like I said before, the food is fantastic! The rice rolls with the crispy Chinese donut inside remained crispy and fresh! Everything came out hot and made to order! The dumplings weren't as mushy as the ones you get from Chinatown, so you can actually tell what ingredients are inside! My favorite is the sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves and the bbq pork buns! Yum!

Shirley I.

Yelp
Food was okay, they messed up the order for two out of five dishes and then tried to argue we ordered it wrong. The table was also dirty when we sat down. Ultimately this restaurant is just okay. The food taste was okay, just seemed standard and nothing to write home about

Chelle N.

Yelp
Dined in on a Sunday around 1 with a party of 4, requested outdoor patio seating with the cute umbrella, and was seated immediately. We sat for a good 15 minutes and no one came to offer menus or drinks. Obviously, with all the horrible service Yelp reviews, it is what it is. Finally when we got to order, the food came out quick, thank the LORT. The HANGRY-ness is real. Every dim sum dish had good flavors, quality is definitely top notch compared to Chinatown bellaire dim sum. This is the first time I have had a good Xiao Long Bao in Houston. But it needed the vinegar and ginger dipping sauce. When will DIN TAI FUNG come to Houston?! So glad there are more restaurants opening up in the heights/midtown area. No one likes driving in China town bellaire!

Elijah L.

Yelp
Honestly not bad. But not great either. The wait is perplexingly long. I came on a Thursday evening and there was maybe one other party in the restaurant but everything felt like it was taking forever. I wasn't in a big rush so it wasn't a big deal, but annoying nonetheless. The food itself is alright. Somethings are definitely better than others. The shumai was alright. The chunfun was not bad either. They have a few options for chunfun. I tried two and I can't remember which, but there was one that was dramatically better than the other. There was also a crab meat dumpling that was not too bad. Everything else, the bao, the wontons, some of the fried treats, were not that great. I'll be honest and admit that I hold dim sum to a high standard but I don't think I'm being unfair in my assessment of the food that I tried. I've been here twice and I'd probably come back again but that's just because I love dim sum and the options in Houston are slim these days.

Jana H.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was very good and attentive. The purple dumplings...uh uh...no thanks

Miriam R.

Yelp
Googled for chinese restaurant nearby. Found this place in a small strip mall. Walked in and place smelled great. Clean and pleadant simple decor. Service was quick and pleasant. Ordered several entrees for our group. The food was fresh and so good. Each dish had its own unique flavor. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will be back to try other entrees. The price of our meal was decent. I highly recommend it.

Mia G.

Yelp
Yea very mid . Ordered shrimp cheung fun. Mushroom cheung fun, pork belly and cucumber , chicken feet and black bean sauce , basil egg plant , chrysanthemum tea & jasmine tea ...the chicken feet which I love and afore tasted like they had started to turn unfortunately which was disgusting . The shrimp cheung fun was cool I had never tried it before been seeing it on tiktok was looking forward to tasting it but tbh I wish I had the green onions or crispy onions or garlic it was just plane shrimp & starch paper which is fine nothing exciting the shrimp are big & juicy thought . The mushroom was okay it's a mushroom mix probably wouldn't order again it sort of has a truffle taste to it that I'm not a big fan of . Pork n cucumber was one of the better dishes . Eggplant and basil was okay . Idk if I'll be back but I'm glad I stopped by

Yelp
Located in Midtown, small parking lot in front. You can find additional parking in the garage nearby. Easy to make reservations. If you come when they open at 11am, it's a bit less crowded but will fill up when it's the lunch rush. This place is similar to Yauatcha, it's not your traditional dim sum. The dishes are a bit more decorated but, nonetheless, still delish. We ordered the following dishes: My favorite was the shrimp ball, very crispy and filling. The pumpkin puffs was between a savory taste and a bit of sweetness with a nice thick texture. Their har gau is a bit different from your usual dim sum. The shrimp stuffed youtiao cheung fun was a bit different, very creative. Everything went great with a hot cup of jasmine tea. Overall, would definitely come back in the future. Yelp
Came here based on a good mention from friends and family. Plus this was one of the few places that were actually open after Christmas Day. We were seated promptly and we ended up making it in time before the lunch rush. When we were seated, we were given two different menus. One was for ordering dim sum and the other was for entrees as options rather than dim sum. We ended up ordering off of both than sticking strictly to the dim sum menu. We ordered the short ribs in a honey pepper sauce as a main entree and soup dumplings, har gau, and pork + prawn siu mai. It took awhile for someone to take our order. Which was unfortunate, but that's okay. I was just looking forward to the meal. We finally ordered and it was delivered shortly to our table. The har gau was served first and it was delicious, juicy, and steaming warm. Though it was absolutely delectable, it went as quickly as it came. They were rather small and only three which was unfortunate considering how much we were paying for. We then got the short ribs next, but after some time had to remind our waiter that we were waiting on the steamed rice that comes with the entree. We did have a bite of one of the short ribs and it was incredibly tender and crispy in some ends of the rib. It's difficult to fully describe, but it was really good regardless. I highly recommend this. It was sweet and savory in the sauce and it was perfect when the rice came out to eat with it. The pork and prawn siu mai was moist and very flavorful and probably a dish we always order at any dim sum restaurant. The staff forgot to bring out our soup dumplings so we had to remind them, maybe 20 minutes into our meal when we were mostly done with everything else. It was kind of difficult to flag down a server because they were running all over the place and not really checking on their tables and more focused on the newer tables or arriving guests and groups. It was kind of disappointing in that regard because we did end up getting our soup dumplings, just rather late in our meal. And when we did remind servers of little things like water refills, napkins, or more steamed rice, they always forgot or got distracted doing something else. Which caused us to constantly remind them every twenty minutes. Though the food is impeccable and absolutely tasty, the downside is the service. There was probably only one or two servers that were on top of things, but the rest of the staff was kind of hectic and chaotic. It wasn't a terrible experience overall, but it was just slightly disappointing to have to wait for awhile and constantly remind staff. I still would recommend this place if you're in the area for a decent selection of dim sum and other popular Chinese dishes.

Yelp
Everything was good until I found out the Chinese broccoli was 13 dollars for a small portion. Maybe I didn't notice it when I ordered but I think its a little overpriced. Other kind of food was really good tho.

Yelp
Food is really good as per usual, the restaurant is nice too, but where it takes away from the experience for me & why I'm giving the 4 star is because they charge $3 for CANNED SODA and no refills same goes for the lemonade. Drink is most of the time watered down already by the time the food gets out. I feel like the owners should consider maybe changing that, specially in this Texas heat while we wait for food.

Yelp
Met some girlfriends here for brunch. We tried 5 or so different dishes and each one was better than the last. Would definitely recommend One Dim Sum if you're in the mood for delicious dim sum.
