The 17 Best Places To Eat & Drink At The Battery Atlanta

"It’s hard to miss the bright red brick wall near the back corner of The Battery. And when the easy rock tunes are blasting, the Guinness is flowing, and the garage windows are up, it’s even more of an attention-grabbing scene in the already lively Battery atmosphere. The Irish bar offers all the expected hits like crispy fish and chips, along with a few curve balls (why yes, we’ll have the curry mayo and sweet and spicy fry dips). While the quality of the food won't knock your socks off, Mac Mcgee comes in clutch for the all-day Monday half-priced appetizers and their big local brew collection." - nina reeder, demarco williams, juli horsford

There was a little wait getting a table but this was a great little pub to get a bite to eat and a drink before an event. Everything tasted really good and they're homemade fries were exceptional. Bonus points for having Heinz ketchup...

Hubby and I went here to grab a quick munch Monday night but were surprised to see how busy the place was. They seemed short staffed but our server was really nice and kind. Unfortunately we didn’t have a great luck with our food. Most of it had to be returned. But the manager Aary was nice enough to come to us and understand the matter acknowledged and did not charge us for the food. I really appreciated that gesture, even though we would have paid for the food. I may go back there again for drinks and maybe give something else a shot.

We arrived about an hour and a half before a Braves game, which was perfect for us to get a table and enjoy food and drinks. Since it's an Irish Pub, I started with a Smithwicks. We ordered food from the limited game-day menu. I had the Philly Cheesesteak with fries, and my friend had the Fish and Chip. Both were good portions and served hot. The service was great, despite how busy they were on a game day. We also grabbed a couple drinks to go, so that we could walk around and check out the festivities in The Battery.

Beautiful new Irish Pub at the Battery. It has such a cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. My team and I tried it out today and have decided this is our new favorite spot. Lots of choices on the drink menu. I got the Ginberry Mule and my friends got the Texian Mule. We loved our drinks! We all tried different appetizers: sausage rolls, smoked salmon on brown bread, and the Scotch Egg. They were all fantastic. I only wished the brown bread was toasted. It is a little pricey, but it's the Battery. Otherwise, we enjoyed our entire visit and definitely will be returning.

Google
Great atmosphere, two large bars, not a bad seat to view a game on the TV's. Of course tried their Guinness pour which was spot on, thick creamy head. I got the pb&j burger medium. The burger was cooked perfectly and the burger, while smaller than you may expect, was very tasty. Only complaint is that the pimento cheese is very messy and they put a ton on so it became hard to eat. Suggest either ask to go light on the cheese or have it in the side in a bowl. My friend got the cheese steak which looked great. Fries/chips were heavily salted but really excellent. Great whiskey and bourbon selection as well. Definitely recommend!

Google
Always a fun little spot! A Sunday afternoon date landed us in a near empty bar! RC was an awesome bartender and made a couple killer drinks for myself and my husband. The food is always on point! This time around we tried fab and chips and an Irish dip sandwich, both worth having again!

Google
This place is GREAT! came to see a Braves game and wanted some good food. This place didn't disappoint. I ordered the Chipotle chili fries, and for 12 bucks, they are HUGE!!! My kid ordered the fish and chips, and it was also enormous. The fish looked great. I will definitely be back. Forget the 20-minute wait at wahlburgers. Go here it's right across the street. And its service is way better. The servers are friendly and keep your drinks full. Even john taffer would approve of this place.

Google
As is universal in The Battery, the quality, price, and operations are geared for a Game Day cattle-crush captive audience, and service at other times is a third-class experience, if not just just an advertisement. The location turns it into kind of a family restaurant. The food turns it into kind of a kids’ restaurant. You have your collection of import beers, though fewer than you might hope. Jobbers behind the bar.

Yelp
It's pretty obvious...they hate customers being there. Sounds crazy but, they are built to get people out. We were there post-Braves, there were easily 100 ppl there at 10P. They had the back bar closed, and the front bar was being handled by a rattlesnake. 1130 is last call for a midnight close, and you can be sure if you try and order a drink at last call, they'll say no. Too bad. Good location. But horrific service.

Yelp
This was the perfect spot for us before the braves game!! We shared quite a few things on the game day menu. I enjoyed trying a couple things since it was a smaller game day menu. Highlights for me was the Pretzel and the Fish &Chips!! The food was really good and it was perfect to grab a beer to go before the game. I would definitely suggest it for game days because it is kind of hidden and less busy than other spots in the restaurant! You can still get in relatively close to gametimes.

Yelp
On St. Patrick's Day, my wife and I were denied service due to my service animal. The manager refused to provide a reason as to why we wouldn't be served. Today, May 3, 2023, I received a message from Yelp that someone complained about my previous review. I stand by my words. I was denied service because of my Service Animal in violation of my Civil Rights. In the future, if you want a good review, follow the law and provide good food and excellent customer service.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to hit when I come to a Braves game. I love Guinness and I am pretty sure they are the only place in the battery that serves it on draft. They serve absolutely one of the best pints around! Thanks for not only a good time recently but also for the consistency over the years.

Yelp
The food was just meh. I wish I had gotten the fish and chips. I feel this shepherds pie was not that flavorful. Could have used more carrots to bring in more savory tones and more onion to sweeten it up. The mash was dull and I feel that a bit more crusty potato on top would have brought in some flavor. Unfortunately, once you're out of mash, the soupy ground beef is all that's left and that's where I feel this could be better. Parking is easy, 3 free hours when a game isn't going on. 2 if a game is going on. Inside, you have a darker tavern bar with screens playing a game. Not bad. Server was nice and quick. Attended to what was needed. I would skip the shepherds pie if you're super hungry. I was not that impressed. Will try the fish and chips next time.

Yelp
Something shady is going on here. The battery offers a deal to individuals who park in several colored parking decks to have their parking validated when spending $50 or more at a vendor at the battery. My wife and I attended the Morgan Wallen concert and went to Mac Mcgee beforehand. After having an appetizer and a few rounds of drinks, we asked for our bill and for our parking to be validated. Our waitress told us Mac Mcgee was no longer validating parking because people were scamming them. I called a manager over who explained for special event days they still provide validation and asked who our waitress was. I was hesitant to provide this information as I thought she had done a good job. Eventually he came over with a validation sticker and jokingly said "I fired her". Upon leaving the parking garage this evening after the concert, the validation sticker I was given was expired. I had to pay the full $50 for my parking. I hope the restaurant will make right of this situation.

Yelp
1. Drink came out wrong. Replaced, but replacement was suboptimal. 2. Ordered the pimento cheeses appetizer. Although delicious, it wasn't mixed well. Golf-ball size chunks of cream cheese. 3. For an entree, I got the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was dry. The fries were straight up burned. 4. Service was acceptable, but not good.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance to this place, it was a large space nicely lit with sports on TV. My server was extremely nice (Zoe I believe). I had the Irish beef and it was delicious. The Guinness gravy was on point. Fries were freshly made. Would definitely come back if i was in the area again!!

Yelp
It DOES NOT get better despite coming back again. Just arrived to have a beer and a bite to eat despite my better judgement. Sat down and was promptly (accidentally) sprayed with water directly in my face and all over my shirt by the bartender using the glass washer. She laughed and apologized to me and the other guy sprayed. I jokingly said, well I should at least get a free beer for that, while wiping myself off. She laughed and walked away. After ten minutes of her putting away glasses and not taking my order I had to call her over and ask for a menu. She acted like she didn't know I was there (after spraying me with water)....umm ok. Just got up and left. The service and food has gone drastically down hill since they first opened. Never again.

Yelp
Food--scratch kitchen. Shepherd's Pie...Amazing. Side salad with awesome dressing. A real winner. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Service--RC, bartender. Working the late lunch crowd like a champ on Friday afternoon. Pouring a "Proper Pint" with aplomb. Ambiance--Traditional pub decor and feel. This is a must try if you're in The Battery!!!

Yelp
I go to The Battery pretty often and not sure how I missed this place. I think it's new so that may be why lol. It was a friendly Irish pub. You seat yourself and a server will come to your table shortly after. It's at the battery so parking is free for 3 hours as long as there isn't a game going on. The food was pretty good and the portions were large. We were not disappointed and definitely left on a full tummy. I ordered the salmon burger which was good but I would have preferred the salmon itself be seasoned a little better. I was here with friends and we all agreed that the fries we on point! The establishment was clean including the bathrooms and the staff was welcoming. I think our server was new because she had difficulties remembering our order but overall we had a good time.

Yelp
Out-of-Towners enjoyed a quick drink and appetizer on the way to a ball game. Staff was LOVELY and super helpful during an unfortunate incident involving a phone dropped down a near-by Sewer grate! Also huge thanks to Atlanta city engineering crew!

Yelp
We came in for St. Patrick's Day. They had Harp, Guinness, and great Irish food. Irish music was playing...great atmosphere!

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere with good service. We just stopped by for a beer and app. I had their Braves beer and it was nice. We shared the home cut chips, were surprised the were fries but enjoyed them. The gravy dip with malt vinagre was tasty.

Yelp
A beautiful, and much needed Irish Pub for the Battery. They have the proper beers, the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I sat at one of the 2 bars - comfortable - and saw some cool nook seating at the back of the pub, which would be great for small groups. Great option for this area and will be back!

Yelp
Wow! What a gem. Enjoyed a great dinner (meatloaf) with Guiness and Irish coffee. Don't sleep on a great place while at the battery.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Even when it's not busy, it's way too loud. This is the land of "we don't have it" or "we're out of it." Out of Magner's (for months), Coke Zero, another Coke product, and some other things Trivianwould be better if you could hear it over the noise and the app worked better. Service was okay. Trivia host was personable and helpful.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Nice looking bar, very nice server and good service. You could appreciate the pretty bar easily because it was empty, which should have been a clue. The food was terrible. We won't go back unless there is no place else on Earth to get a Guinness!

Yelp
We walked in and took seats at the bar. Friendly bartender who was very prompt. Ordered drinks & received them quickly. We didn't stay long, the acoustics are terrible in here & a solo gig was performing 20ft from the bar & it was an unbearable decibel. I couldn't get out of there fast enough between the noise level & the sticky bar top that smelled like a moldy wet bar rag. Menu is ok nothing that made us want to stay. Great location and ambiance is typical Irish Pub style.

J. R.

Yelp
Great service! Great selection of beers and the ambiance is perfect! I'll definitely be back I have yet to try the food since my husband and I always come here for late drinks and the kitchen is closed by the time we make it there

Yelp
I went in alone and on a quiet evening but I found the food and service to be 10/10. I had the fish and chips and the portion was huge, but the fish was light and fluffy and I was left wanting more. I imagine my experience might have been different on a busy game day but I would still come here for great food and drink even if I had to wait a bit longer.

Yelp
Low rating because they don't validate parking on non-game days, nor on days when there's special events at the Roxy. How do they expect to have repeat customers if this is something that they can't offer? Certainly a downside when picking from one of the many restaurants at The Battery, when the others in the vicinity offer parking validation. Yes, our bill was over $50, it wasn't too difficult to achieve that with the food and drinks. Aside from that, the service was great. Food came out hot and fresh. Taste was good, happy with that aspect. Large drink menu, and several beer options. Lots of TVs, plenty to see from any angle that you are sitting. Fish and chips entree was literally one large piece of fish siting on a pile of fries. For the price of the entree at $20, I would've expected at least two pieces of fish. Still hungry after eating it, but was hot and flaky. Irish dip, really good portion and something to get if you have a big appetite. This one was satisfying! I would like to go back, but probably will end up at another restaurant there that validates parking on non-game days.

Jeffrey H.

Yelp
Place keeps going downhill. No energy. Smells bad. Poor business decisions. Poor menu changes. Used to be a fan but now it's just trash and would be better served to just close down. Oh. And the manager is a putz. Stay away.

Khadija U.

Yelp
RC is the best, sweetest bartender, thank you for your patience and your customer service!! highly recommend

Yelp
I love how the last two times I've tried to come grab a drink at your place, you rudely yell out WE'RE CLOSED! It was about 10:30 on on non-Braves home game weekend. Then on a home game Friday at 11:00 you did the same thing. Good luck to you. Idk how you're expecting to survive as a business in the Battery outside of serving customers after the game. Oh yeah... Your place smells like rank fish. Nice place. It's clearly professionally run.

Yelp
Went there last night to eat before a show at the Roxy that was to start at 8:30. Group of 6. Got there at 7, ordered food at 7:20. Around 8:00 we asked the waitress to check on our food because it hadn't arrived and told her we needed to leave soon. At 8:10 she came back and said it was "2nd up" we asked her to see if it was being prepared yet. While waiting on her to come back another table of people got their food who had arrived probably 30 minutes after us. She came back to say our food would be another 15 minutes so we cancelled and left. The seating was full and appeared to only be one waitress so I'm sure she was overwhelmed but the restaurant should be better prepared for nights when there is a show at the Roxy, since they are sure to be crowded. I see there's another review from 16 hours ago that's not great so looks like it wasn't just a mistake with our order only.

Yelp
We came here to grab a drink and apps before a movie and were pleasantly surprised. We got a couple craft beers, and tried the fries! They have a solid selection of beer and some great apps, but we really enjoyed the fries! Good ambience here, it was pretty quiet and chill which is super different from other bars at the battery.

Yelp
Service was prompt and very good and they had seating when other battery locations didn't . The pub food was delicious. I had a Rueben that was thick sliced and very flavorful. Thick fries were good and more than I could eat. Decor was definitely Irish pub style and I would go back to try the bangers and mashed potatoes. They were so good that I still give them 4 stars, despite some significant issues. Now for the issues: Main door was open on a hot evening. Whatever air conditioning they have could not come close to keeping up. They need to close the door, or crank up the ac or get a handful of ceiling fans. It sucks to not be comfortable. Yes it's a crowded bar. But the noise level was off the charts. You could barely hear people talking. They need something to improve the acoustics. Wood is everywhere. The smell. The odor when you first walk in is bad and was not temporary. Garbage needs to be taken out or a good scrubbing should be done asap. Two person tables were ridiculously small. The plates barely fit on them with condiments and a couple other small items. I felt like something was going to fall off the table at any moment. So, bottom line, for now my rating is quite favorable but if they don't fix the issues by the next time I go, I will drop the rating and would not go back again. Too many options in the Battery.

Jonny G.

Yelp
Awful Guiness and experience. Cannot pour Guiness correctly. I watched them pour multiple glasses out cus the foam was half the glass, while still pouring into it.... Then they proceeded to serve me in a crappy plastic cup while I was sitting inside.

Atlanta G.

Yelp
Food was good, but I have no idea what time they close cuz it just says "11:30am - Close" on their website.

Dan P.

Yelp
Decent place if you're looking to grab a quick bite before a Braves game. Burgers were good but just a little over cooked. Prices are reasonable considering there are limited options in the area. Would go there again if I were going to a game.
