Mac Tabby Cat Cafe - Concord

I love visiting Mac Tabby because of three things: 1. They have a great and inspiring mission 2. They have delicious coffee 3. They have the funniest and sweetest cats that love getting human attention This is such a gem to have in Downtown Concord and suggest that anyone reading this review should go pay them a visit. Even if you think you’re a “dog person”, this experience will change your opinion very quickly because it’s so natural and therapeutic. Already excited to come back to visit!

This is my first time at a cat cafe. Since giving up my cat Katara I needed my cat fix. It cost $10 for a half hour to be with the cats. There were 12 cats all adoptable and cute. Their coffee was delicious too. I had the Huckleberry latte. Nice place.

The only complaint I have about this place is that I’ll never be able to experience it for the first time ever again! The coffee selection is wonderful and all very delicious, the staff at this location were incredibly hospitable and kind, and playing in the cat room was an hour well spent. I enthusiastically recommend this place to anybody looking for a fun way to hang out with friends, to anybody seeking good coffee in the Charlotte area, or for anybody in need of an inexpensive mood-boost. I really cannot commend enough the hospitality of the staff here. Everything about my time spent here was perfect. 🐈‍⬛

A MUST visit if you loveeee cats 🐈 ☕ Coffee, latte, smoothies, beer/wine 🍷 The kitties are all adoptable, yall! Come experience this place. The ambience is so inviting and extremely clean. Outdoor patio with string lights and patio heater /fans. You know you want a great drink and pet the sweetest funniest cats. 😍 Solid 10/10

Had the most amazing time here today! The staff were very friendly and patient, coffee was done quick and it was really delicious. I would come here for just the drinks. Hanging with the kitties was also amazing. They were all so chill and it's really fun to watch them all interact with each other/do their own things. There's something therapeutic about being in such a cozy environment with so many kitties. Will definitely be coming back, absolutely worth the 40 minute drive :)

Cool little place. I love the idea of having the cat room (sounds like you should expect to make reservations based on high demand). I would never have though in a million years people would pay $7/person for 1/2 hour to play with cats. LOL Good for them though for figuring that out. Prices are reasonable. Staff is nice. They serve alcohol as well. It has a nice patio seating area outside. One thing that would be nice would be to add some more natural light inside. It's a little dark. Otherwise, the environment is quite nice.

This place is awesome! Cat Cafes are generally just a cool venture but Mac Tabby is spectacularly so! Ava and all the staff are wonderful, the cats are adorable, and the drinks are spectacular! I had a soda (Lavender?) And it was not too sweet and not overpoweringly flavorful but just the right combination to make it delicious! Will definitely be going back 😊

Traveling Texan here, THIS PLACE IS SO COOL! We have a cat cafe in Austin too but this place has amazing coffee, cats to play with 😻 (7+ and $15 for 30 minutes I think) , and it has the cutest cat theme art and photo ops everywhere. I am pretty particular about my iced lattes and this one was just 🤌🏻 muah, amazing! They had several cats to interact with and also do adoptions too!

Stopped by Mac Tabby Cat cafe when I was in town to check it out. Walking in I just fell in love the ambiance of the shop, so cute and of course cats. :) I didn't try any food this visit but I will in the future.

This place is beautiful! I love all of the art and how it is detailed and peaceful. You can buy a coffee or a beer and sit inside or outside near a bonfire some weekends. The cat room is by reservation but it has plenty of windows if you just want to look inside. There is a nice desk area for extra work near the bathroom. 10/10 I always recommend Mac Tabby to anyone coming to Concord!

Another great visit to Mac Tabby in Concord. Employees are so helpful & kind. We enjoyed our visit with the kitties. This was quite a sociable group of felines that provided a lot of fun for us all.

GR8 all around friendly vibe inside. Helpful staff, good selection of alcohol & non-a beverages. All of this AND being able to chill with my favorite creatures. I love the outside concerts, and can't wait until they finish all of the construction around you. Wishing success and lots of adoptions in 2025.

This place is so cool! My friend brought me here for a coffee and to visit the cats that are all up for adoption. What a cool concept. Mac tabby has baked goods, beer and wine, coffees, and you can book a spot to go in and visit the cats that are there. It was so fun to spend some time with the kitties and support the animals in need. The coffee was also delicious and the have beard bakes goodies which are a 10/10!

The crew was so nice and we had an amazing time playing with the kitties and drinking coffee! We'll be coming back very soon!

If you love kitties then this is the place for you, if you're allergic to them, then yea stay away lol. I love what the place stands for, they take in kittens and set them up for adoption. Can get you a yummy coffee, then reserve a time to play with all the cats of various ages. It's really so sweet and relaxing.

Love coming here! Drinks are great as is the coffee. Small business and we love to support their cause. It's a fun night out with some cute kitties. Staff is very friendly too

Oh I love visiting this place! Amazing coffee, beer, and sweet, lovable cats!!! I go here often with a friend and this place is just an amazing idea altogether. I love being there! So many beautiful cat-related decorations and artwork and the ambiance is wonderful. Fast, always friendly service, and it's an experience like no other!

Great service, adorable down town spot, latte was good missing the mark on texture for me. A bit pricier than competitors in the area that have better quality hand crafted coffee. Would return again!

We made reservations for our twin toddlers to enjoy Saturday "Kitty Time," which is available twice a month (2nd/3rd Sat of the month). Kitty Time is for kids 0-6, while all other reservations throughout the month are for those 7 and over. This cafe is so cute and welcoming - beautiful interior with a friendly staff. The section with the cats is in its own closed room. All these cats are rescues and adoptable. Visit their site! Our kids had a great time interacting with the cats. It was a bit of a hike for us, but well worth the trip. The menu of drinks was extensive and delicious. Me and the kids each got seasonal items: Butter Beer latte for me, peppermint hot cocoa for the kids. My husband got the Maple Pancake latte. All drinks were amazing, which was just the icing on the cake. Merchandise is also for sale. My husband and I each got hoodies because they were so cute and unbelievably soft. The kids have been talking about the experience all day. Thanks so much to the staff for making this such an absolutely pleasant and memorable experience!

My 7-year-old daughter desperately wants a cat, but with family allergies that's a no-go. Our visit to Mac Tabby Cat Cafe was the perfect solution to her desire to petting cats without owning one. We were incredibly pleased with the decor, design, and care and attention given to these rescued cats. When we left we were already looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time and reading the details on the website to know what to expect.

We went here for my daughter's 10th birthday as a special treat for her (she loves cats). It was so much fun. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The sweet woman who greeted us also makes an amazing chai latte. The cats were adorable. They all are available for adoption. If I did not already have 2 cats, I would have loved to take one home. There is a variety of cat toys and comfy cat furniture, as well as a back room where the cats can go if they need some leave and quiet. They all seemed so happy! We are already talking about coming back for my son's birthday. Parking was easy in a free deck across the street. Highly recommend!

This place is super cute! The aesthetic is nice, the coffee tastes great, and the hosts are all very friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up getting an elderberry Kombucha to start and finished my hour here with an iced dirty chai with oat milk. I also got espresso on the side to get a feel for the flavor profile of the coffee and it was tasty. It was more on the lighter end with hints of a berry taste -- definitely not smokey, which is a plus for me! My friend got a cupcake iced coffee with soy milk, and he enjoyed it. There is a variety of drinks here for coffee lovers, tea drinkers, and anyone who wants smoothies and brownies. The merch items are simple in nature, but soft and warm. The enamels and magnets are cute, and everything is decently priced. If you wanna purchase coffee, there is a ground and whole bean version. Their bags of coffee are decently priced. Actually a steal compared to other coffee shops. Moving on, as soon as you enter, you feel the warmth and love of this place. Everyone seems to know each other and get along. Really feels like a community. The cats are all lovely! They all have different stories -- some of rescued, some are surrendered. The staff here do take care of them well, and they all seem trusting of the workers. There are toys to use to play with the kitties, and you are allowed to pet and play with them. The only rule: don't pick up the cats. The waiver you sign before kitty time is really easy to fill out, and staff will assist if needed. As a tourist, this was a really great experience! I got to check something off my bucket list, and had a very pleasant experience. Would definitely recommend as a spot to check out if you have time.

My family and I love going to Mac Tabby! The cats are always so sweet and the beverages are delicious! I love how Mac Tabby is able to find homes for these precious cats and take such good care of them while they wait to get adopted.

This is a really lovely and nice cafe, and I think it would be fun to just come and sit, but as someone who is actively looking for a cat I found the experience kind of frustrating. I got scheduled in the cat room at the same time as a party of six kids and teens, and whenever I tried to interact with a cat they would laser pointer it away from me. So I left with only a vague impression of the cat I tried to go to see (who seemed a bit stressed out by the zoo situation anyway). And then I got home to find that the rescue org had rejected me because my current cats are due for rabies shots, which I literally just got the notice for within the last few weeks. Anyway, I'm still in the market for a cat if you know of one that needs a home.

Booked the cat room for an hour so I could take my 3 year daughter to play with the cats (we just had to put our cat down a few weeks ago) and we absolutely loved it. The cats were sweet and playful, and the employees were so nice and helpful! I look forward to going back.

So much fun! Easy to make a reservation online to guarantee your time! BEAUTIFUL building in DT Concorde. Great coffee and tea options and ALL THE KITTEHS!!! Cats were delightful and we loved the time playing and petting them. Don't delay and make the res for your time slot. We will be back next time we are in NC!

So much fun! Friendly staff and playful kitties. Kids had such a great time. Although you aren't allowed to pick up the cats, there are many and they come up to you and will sit on your lap if you are still and patient. A lot of the kitties love to play and there are plenty of toys available to tempt them with. Staff is helpful and kind. Hot drinks are also delicious and well made. Highly recommend!

This has become my favorite hangout, by far. The coffee selection is varied and imaginative, the beer is primarily local, and there's even a wine selection. Select baked goods are also available. The staff is friendly, informative, and seem to really care that the guests enjoy their stay. Located in downtown Concord, just one serene street off the main drag, in a recently renovated mill-era building, the guest area is cozy, warm, comfortable, eclectic, and speckled with cat-themed artwork, mostly by artists that actually frequent the place. For those who would rather sip al fresco, the large covered front porch is shaded by a wise old tree and heating stands keep things comfortable on all but the coldest North Carolina winter nights. This porch overlooks a small private parking lot that hosts food trucks on Saturday nights. There is free street parking and two free parking structures within 500 feet. Oh, and they have cats (in an enclosed room where you're welcome to bring your drink).
