Yelp
I loved our meal here. The $90 per person price tag for their (summer) garden tasting menu is more than reasonable given the quality of ingredients, portions, and accompanying service.
They offer wine or bourbon pairings with the tasting menu. An impossible choice if you ask me. (!!!) I finally landed on bourbon, since it felt different than a more typical wine or beer pairing.
Course 1: Citrus vodka cured salmon with rosti potato, cucumber, crème fraîche, red onion, capers, and dill. Perfect warm up for the meal ahead, and introduction to the chef's culinary skills.
Course 2: Heirloom tomato caprese with grilled flatbread, and arugula pistachio pesto. The tomato and housemade mozzarella were so tasty on their own that they almost didn't need the pesto and flatbread. Almost.
Course 3: Duck confit with arugula, prosciutto, grilled peaches, yam chips, Humboldt Fog chèvre, and a blackberry pinot noir gastrique. This is the only dish I didn't love and that is only because I don't love duck. I tried a bite and shared the rest of the duck with my dining companions. I kept everything else to myself because it was too good to share.
Course 4: Filet mignon with shiitake chimichurri, Lyonnaise potatoes, blue cheese crème fraîche, green beans, almonds, and fried onions. Perfectly cooked (medium rare) meat with complimentary flavors from the potatoes, cheese, and veggies. Ample amount of everything.
Course 5: Chocolate budino with vanilla ice cream, salted caramel sauce, and candied hazelnuts. Gratitude to our server who offered us a break between course four and five so we could fully appreciate what this incredible dessert had to offer.
Bonuses were their house made sourdough bread, made from a 40 year old starter (!!!) and spotting Mittens MacCallum who is the stray cat who adopted MacCallum House.
We left very full and very happy.
