Our waiter Joshua was fantastic! He had a great attitude and was very accommodating throughout the night! The food selection isn't very detailed on the menus provided. There isn't a very wide selection of seafood entrees and is more of a barbecue spot if you ask me. The portions were very generous! The blackened fish and shrimp were delicious! The fried seafood platter had a little too much breading for my liking and the broccoli was a little too watery as well. Pretty great spot for big parties! Had over 20 people in our group, and even though we sat outside it wasn't too bad with all of the fans and breeze in the evening.

We had lunch at MacDaddy’s on Sunday. The wait for an inside table was long while seating outside was immediate. The weather was hot but sitting under the covered porch was surprisingly comfortable. The porch area had some large fans that kept the air moving so it was nice to be outside under the porch roof. The food was good. I had the MacDaddy burger and it was really good. Everyone at our table also said their food was good. Our server Joshua was also exceptional. He wasn’t the helicopter server but always seemed to pop up right when we needed something. He was funny, helpful and a great source of local information. And he seemed to take pride in his work. You don’t find many employees like that anymore so we hope to sit at his table the next time we are in Port A. Good food, atmosphere, fair prices, and attentive, pleasant employees, what more can you ask for?

Fun cool place! Food is always on point! Love their Mac and cheese!! I tried the fried chicken and it was very good. Husband got ribs and like them. We had a party of 16 so I know that’s hard to get everyone taken care of and our waiter did a fabulous job!

Great food! My family and I come from San Antonio and we love Port A and have never heard of Mac Daddy’s! It’s been awhile since we’ve back to the coast. My son and I had fun in the gift shop and the merchandise was very reasonably priced. The toys are fun to play with. My husband got the burger and fries, my son got the fries, Mac n cheese and pulled pork, and I got the jalapeño cheddar sausage with broccoli on the side. Today was my 3rd meal here. Abby was our waitress. Actually, she was our waitress all 3 times. She is always so nice, attentive, friendly, and polite. Today I had the fried chicken. Let me tell you, it was top notch. I would definitely recommend and want it again. Thanks again Ally.

So I’m at MacDaddy’s never been here before, I was seated in a VERY TIMELY manner an JOHN was my waiter.. so I asked JOHN if he had any recommendations so he recommended the Mac daddy burger and I have to tell you he hit the nail on the head. I am a 57 year old blue collar worker and I have to tell you this is the MOST AMAZING BURGER I have ever had… so than you John for the best service I’ve had in a long time and the most amazing recommendation ever I highly recommend this place and I highly recommend John as a server. The food and my waiter was amazing. I cannot give enough stars for this meal and the service.

The hostess in a teal shirt working on 7/25/25 was rude. I noticed her demeanor changed when I walked to the counter to put my name on the waitlist. The gentleman in front of me was Caucasian (I'm Hispanic) , her tone with him was very pleasant, welcoming and up beat when I approached it quickly changed there was no smile or a pleasant tone. She didn't enter our phone number in the system correctly. I know this because I never received the confirmation text that I was on the waitlist. After waiting 15 min and not receiving a text I went back in to check, the gentleman is the one who informed me my phone number was entered incorrectly. Once we were seated our server Ali was absolutely AMAZING!!! We loved her! The food was great! The only recommendation I have would be to talk with the hostess about her customer service skills.

Dog friendly and family-friendly place! I had an outside seat with my 2 dogs. The server immediately gave my dogs water. I like the welcoming atmosphere. I had Armadillo eggs and pulled pork sandwich lunch set with Brussels sprouts. This was my first time eating armadillo eggs. It was delicious with a little bit of spiciness from jalapeño peppers. Not too oily, it was cooked right. I recommend it as your appetizer. The pulled pork sandwich was also delicious. I didn't put any BBQ source because I like to taste the ingredients taste itself. It had a lot of flavors, so I didn't need to add any flavor. It was fulfilling and tasty!

Food was great, we were a family of 6 people they got us In and out. We assumed at 3:00 it would be non-hot burnt leftovers from lunch. We were clearly served the opposite, great service as well.

On an island full of bland food, this place stands out. FINALLY some seasoning in the food. The fried chicken and the shrimp were amazing. The restaurant was very busy but we got seated right away and the food was out in a reasonable amount of time. The Best part of the whole experience was our server Kris! She is a great asset to the restaurant. She was patient with all of our questions and checked to make sure we were good constantly. She was very busy but stayed on top of everything. This will be our spot from now on when visiting Port Aransas! Make sure you ask for Kris!

MacDaddy's Family Kitchen was yet another Port Aransas, TX, restaurant that said we would have a 45-minute wait, yet, seated us way earlier than anticipated. Indoor and outdoor seating was available, but I know the kids were a little low energy from the heat, so we wanted inside. Our waiter, while nice, was forgetful about several things. He apologized profusely when he forgot my daughter's tartar sauce after three times requesting it. I opted for the "Barnyard Burger" ($18) which entailed a "1/4 lb beef patty, cheddar cheese (by request), sliced smoked sausage, topped with a fried (sunny side up) egg." For my side, I had the delicious lightly oily house chips. All of the sides were made from scratch. The sausage was really good and my patty was okay - cooked medium to my liking. My kiddos both received kid's meal. My oldest enjoyed her flaky white fried fish and tater tots. Afterwards, they both got to make fabulous swirl ice cream cones. Private lot parking was available. Very good BBQ spot the corn bread was very tasty and the butter so sweet. I got the lemon pepper smoked and fried wings mac and cheese and corn bread super good but didn't taste much lemon was more of a butter sauce. We also had the jalepeno sausage with their spicy BBQ sauce was good! KIDS GET FREE ICE CREAM.

This place was delicious and I'd definitely go back. The brisket was an extra charge and had no flavor so I probably wouldn't order it again but everything else was on point. The cornbread was by far my favorite so far. It was so moist, it just melted in your mouth.

Fast and friendly service, but the food is pretty average maybe even below average for BBQ. Brisket and ribs were not tender. Most of the brussel sprouts were burnt. Mac & cheese was bland. Enjoyed the sausage. I didn't try their seafood, so I can't comment there. Good portion sizes though, but overpriced for the quality. Expected better after reading the previous reviews. As a native Texan, this BBQ isn't the kind I'd go out of my way for or call delicious. Comfortable seating outdoors! A bit loud inside.

Good selection of seafood! The blackened shrimp & fried shrimp turned out really good, especially coming from someone who normally doesn't go for shrimp! The fish was alright. Cornbread was alright. The seafood paired great with some tartar sauce on the side. They had the order ready quickly. Ambiance is rustic.

Supper busin busin everything was cooked perfectly I ate everything rice was really good if you come here I recommend the blackened shrimp I felt like I had + 1000000 Aura and skibidi rizzzzz

I don't even know where to start with how awesome the food was here, my family of 7 was told it would be a 30 minute wait which ended up being only a 15 minute wait which was great having 3 toddlers and a baby. We sat outside and the outside fans made it feel great, we got 3 kids meals and the 3 meat plate and lemon pepper grilled shrimp and fish. The seafood was amazing but let me tell you about the ribs .... Beautiful fell right off the bone! We all picked jalapeno cream corn, mashed potatoes, Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts and rice which were all fantastic. We will definitely be back for more!

Came in here to this very popular place in Port A, it was a large group for my family, but we immediately got sat as soon as we walked in. The server was very on point with assisting us and getting the orders in as soon as possible. The wait for the food was a long while. I would not recommend the fish, as it tastes like freezer food. I don't know though! The drinks (margaritas) tasted super syrupy which didn't turn out to be that great. The BBQ was very cold so I don't know how to feel about this place. I wouldn't recommend.

This place was really nice! All the servers were kind and made sure you had a good experience. The Shrimp was VERY tasty, and the soft serve that they have is to die for! If you're in the area, GO TO MACDADDYS!

The food is fantastic! Maya our waitress was on top of things. She explained anything we had questions about. Great job Maya! Portion sizes are a good size. I had the sausage which came with 2 sides. I chose the chili and Mac-n-cheese. I absolutely LOVED the chili! The macaroni was good as well! My husband got the brisket/sausage with jalapeño cream corn and coleslaw. As well we had corn bread. The brisket was expertly cooked. It was so tender and the bark was perfect! I was amazed as I am not a big BBQ person. Coleslaw had some BBQ sauce in the recipe. The cornbread isn't sweet but is fantastic! Our overall experience with this restaurant is very satisfied! If you can find a seat I recommend you try it!!! We loved everything we had! Kudos!

Great experience from beginning to end. Friendly staff. Waitress is amazing. Food was good. We got chili and cheese tater tots for the appetizer and they were great. Shrimp, with Mac n cheese and their jalapeño corn for my meal. All was great. Ended with a peach cobbler and ice cream.

Just wanted to say thank you to Kris, it was a crazy busy night in the restaurant but she was very persistent in making sure our requests were fulfilled. Even as far as making sure there was no cross contamination due to a food allergy, thank you Kris

The bartender does not know about customer service. We sat at the bar for a while before he even acknowledged us. Asked us what we wanted without asking if we were dining at the bar, we had to as for menus. We came from San Antonio for a second try at this place. Never again!

Food was great! The Mac and cheese was delicious!! So was the fried shrimp!! Service and atmosphere was fine!...prices were slightly high but I would definitely come back!

The food here was delicious. We chose it by a google search not a recommendation. Everyone loved their food but a personal favorite was the MacDaddy burger. Food was fresh, temperature appropriate, and our waiter was great! Would definitely go back. Prices were also appropriate and servings were generous. You won't make a mistake ordering from here that's for sure!

Busy, big party, we'll see. 45 minute wait, not worth Beer is on tap, you can't screw that up. The mixed drink are crap, plus had to wait for ever at the bar, one bartender. Mac daddy's, needs a better daddy. I am happy to say, that the food almost made up for this experience. The brisket was moist, and good. Had a bit of bark, which is what I had wanted. Waiter didn't know what I was talking about when I asked for burnt ends. Good thing I didn't ask him what wood they cook with. The sides were decent, we had the beans and potato salad, with jalapeños. We had a three meat plate, brisket, chicken and sausage. Sausage was cold, I didn't send it back, cause we were hungry. I was really disappointed with the bartender, just one bartender for the whole restaurant, waited for her to acknowledge us while she did other orders. Felt like we weren't important. Had to return one of our drinks. I guess customer service isn't important to her. The ambience is super chill, cause we are at the coast. No shirts, no shoes, almost service. The waiter was cool enough to given us cones for ice cream.

Had another great meal here when we were in Port A! Bbq was great, the cornbread was wonderful, and we enjoyed our meal. It was pretty warm in the restaurant so that made it a little uncomfortable but I guess it's hot outside and probably hard to cool off during the heat of the summer.

Amazing food! Service is also very nice. I will definitely be coming back soon. It's also fairly family friendly. I would de recommend going !

MacDaddy's has bbq, fried chicken, fish, and shrimp. I got the lemon pepper shrimp. The shrimp, broccoli, and rice were all cooked perfectly. The shrimp had a great flavor and tasted good with the butter sauce. I got to taste the MacDaddy's burger too which was tender and delicious with their barbecue sauce.

Wife and I are in Port Aransas for the weekend and we stopped by MacDaddy's for lunch. We were greeted and immediately seated at a table. Our waiter immediately came over and started our order. Our food didn't take long to arrive my wife had the fried fish platter and I had the dagwood. Most folks that came in requested to be seated outside.

Excellent service! Be sure to ask for the Armadillo Eggs. They keep their own Armadillos and collect fresh eggs daily. The eggs are stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon. Delicious & reasonably priced. The Surfers & Fishing Guides in Port A love this special Texas treat.

Food was ok. Nothing special. Nothing bad to say. It was fine. Had the fried red fish and it was ok. Cole slaw was good. Chili queso fries were good. My daughter hated the burger. It was very heavy on garlic salt and she didn't eat but a few bites. I tried it and agreed. It was all just ok. Maybe because we didn't get the bbq I just would say "it was fine." Service was great! Our waiter was a sweet teenage boy and he did a great job. Ambiance was good! The place is laid back and can accommodate outside groups.

We didn't even get to eat here because the service was crappy. They called the wrong name and got mad at US FOR THEM SAYING THE WRONG NAME!!! They said "Jane" when my mom's name is Gina. We sat there for 45 minutes! We finally went inside and my mom said "we've been sitting for 45 minutes and haven't got sat yet. The person at the front said "we've called your name 4 times". No you didn't. You said Jane. All in all AWFUL SERVICE! The woman said "you have a nice night" rudely. Sickening. Also they had us give our phone number so they could text when our table was ready. They never texted us that our table was ready. We also saw someone have to say their number 3 times and never got it right. That person even left.

Very good. We had the brisket nachos, BBQ and a burger. Nothing amazing but what we had was good. Service was very good. They do charge a 20% tip (party of 6) which as a customer I hate. I will tip based on service which in this case was great. I would have tipped more but since they automatically charge 20%, I won't support that.

AMAZING!! Everything we got was sooooo good. This is the best place we've eaten at between Port A and Rockport. We would eat here all day everyday if we could!!

The BBQ seemed to be the focus, so we both opted for BBQ related items. I got the Smoked Turkey-good smoked flavor, and a generous serving. The corn is GREAT and the potato salad much better than your average fare. My wife got the chili and a side of Brussels Sprouts. The chili had a good kick, and the Brussels were nicely cooked with a simple preparation. The hot BBQ sauce has a nice kick. We sat at the bar (it seats 6) and got great service even though the bartender was covering for the whole restaurants' drinks. Very reasonable prices, and great food and service!

Food is good if you don't order a lot. Apparently if your order is too big they turn you away. Call it in. The manager was a jerk to my Father in law who is a war Vet. Shame on you! You should be ashamed of yourself treating a senior citizen this way. You suck!

The coke was good. I am always happy to order from the kids Menu. Getting pulled pork. Waited a while for the server. I decided to get Mac and cheese and salad. The salad was delicious. The pulled pork was okay but Not my favorite. I liked the Mac and cheese a lot. I enjoyed the ribs. The potato salad was good.

Yiiiiikes... cheap tasting food, cheap ingredients, cheap uniforms, understaffed. Yall got a lot to work on. Your workers were nice but you need more of them. The environment is great and there's nice lighting. But the food guys. I ordered a cheeseburger and curly fries, so simple. It was dry, unseasoned and made from cheap premade ingredients. That goes for everything in the meal. My partner ordered mac and cheese and it was unseasoned too. If you're into flavorless bland basics for a moderately expensive price then it's cool. But please guys, buffalo sauce and hot sauce aren't the same, you need salt and pepper shakes and please for the love of god season your food. Also why is your ranch watery ew

Worth the wait - just me & the kiddos for dinner last night, got in sitting outside immediately. Food was delicious, great service and fun vibes! Highly recommend the surf & bbq platter - the brisket was Texas quality and the fried shrimp biggest ever seen! Yum

Our waiter was attentive and made sure we were comfortable during our lunch. The food was quite tasty, especially the BBQ sandwiches that stood out. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, making it a great spot for enjoying a meal and spending time with friends. The open layout, which includes both indoor and outdoor seating, adds to the experience. This place is definitely worth a visit when you're in Port A!

All the food is really good, but the fried chicken is through the roof great. Taco Tuesday is also amazing. Great friendly young staff!

Go for the BBQ! I don't think I'd recommend anything else, but the BBQ really hits. This is a casual eatery with relaxed, beach decor. Nice location with parking. Our service was fine and this really isn't anything to rave about. It's an easy lunch spot or good for when everything else has a wait out the door.

Troy was a good waiter with good recommendations. The fried fish in the saltine breading was delish. The cole slaw was good. The place was so good Thursday that we are going back Saturday

This place is my "go to" for BBQ in Port Aransas. In high season it can be a busy place so plan ahead because the wait is worth it. It's a big open space with really friendly serves and hostesses.

Service was ridiculous. Waited over 10 minutes to be greeted at our table then when we asked for a server, she came over with an attitude. She came to our table all of 4 times-for the order which we had so much time we were able to do drink, app, and meal all at once; to deliver the food; to ask if we needed boxes; and to bring the boxes and check. Mac and cheese, corn, and fried shrimp were good.

This place has Delicious bbq brisket and sausage & yummy cocktails! Service was also great! Definitely also recommend the jalapeño corn!

Food was very good, I got fried chicken and it was really good. My wife got the chef salad (no protein) and it was ok. The nachos with brisket were the highlight. The place is nice and clean. Waiter was very friendly super good service.

My sons both ordered fried chicken & loved it. Large portion! My husband enjoyed the brisket. I had the prickly pear iced margarita-unique sweet & tart flavor. The smoked turkey was good. I found the macaroni & cheese lacking in flavor. Tasted mostly like milk; no cheese or salt flavor.

I was going to the port A Community Theater on 10/12. We went to our usual restaurant but it was packed with Longhorn fans, the game was on. After some searching we decided to try this restaurant, they had a full service bar, which is one of my requirements since I enjoy sitting at the bar, watching the games and having a brew. Valerie was the bartender at the time. She provided excellent service to us and answered all our questions about the menu. I had a burger, totally different from what I would usually have and my wife had the turkey. The prices are good. The restaurant had a steady flow, mostly families at the tables. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone and o shall be visiting on my next visit to Port A. The wait staff were also excellent, although we were being taken care of by Valerie.

Food was great & service was amazing ! ALLIE was a great waitress ! ( love her ink ) We had fish & shrimp ! Wonderful !

Mac Daddy burger was so good hubby wanted to go back for another burger so we did! Brisket was very good and the jalapeño cream corn was yummy!
