MacDinton's Irish Pub

Perhaps the worst place I’ve ever been to in my life. Trashy bar. Was there with some friends we drank a few drinks tried to go to the restroom and assaulted by security who denied us entrance to their restroom even though we were customers. Do not go to this place ever.

On May 10, we had a VIP section at the Tampa MacDinton's and it was absolutely fabulous! We had a safe and secure section of our own with amazing service! Billy, the manager, made sure everything was perfect from a tub of Champagne to sparklers, party poppers and a framed graduation diploma from Macdinton's! The night could not have been more perfect! We will definitely be back!

Went to watch a big English soccer game on a Sunday and TVs showing the game were plentiful. This place must really take a beating on from a raucous crowd on Saturday nights. Be prepared to pay $10 to park. Later found the price tag was normal for that part of town. Was not expecting a *whole* fish & chips (It was very good).

Pretty nice bar to hang out with friends, though on the weekends it gets busy. Very busy. It's a great place to celebrate or bar crawl, but just be aware that it can get packed with all the USF and UT kids. Definitely a nice place though! I'd rate the food but I never get around to ordering from them. It looks good though!

It's always a good time, cheap drinks and a great atmosphere regardless of the occasion. I also love how for a lot of sports games they mute the commercials and put on the DJ until the game is back on. In my experience at night, MacDintons is mostly young college age individuals. (I've never had the food so gave it 4 stars instead of 5)

I’ve been to this bar many times and have always had a good experience — until this past Saturday, which happened to be my birthday. The bouncer on duty was extremely rude and unprofessional. What made it even more upsetting was that he made a racial comment directed at my husband because of his accent. It was completely uncalled for and deeply disappointing. No one should be treated that way, especially in a place meant for enjoyment. I hope management takes this seriously, because behavior like that ruins what could otherwise be a great environment.

Great service did not eat there. Drinks were served fast and with smiles! Had so much fun. Loved that they have outside fans.

The security guard working inside during happy hour last night was extremely aggressive and almost tackled our guy friend out of the bar for getting on the edge of the stage for ONE SECOND. There was no warning, my friend had not done that previously, and it was not an ongoing thing. The security guard didn’t even come up and tell him to leave. he RAN at our friend and pushed him all the way out of the bar. It was extremely dead and there was maybe a handful of people inside at the time. The entire situation was handled extremely poorly and according to the manager it’s an “unspoken rule” that men don’t get on the stage. Maybe make it a “spoken” rule and hire security guards that actually know how to handle and de-escalate situations instead of causing a problem when there isn’t one. Had we gotten a verbal warning there would have been no issue - we are never looking for trouble and we just wanted to have a good time. Also, raising your prices to $15 for HH while simultaneously making the cups smaller is an interesting move lol.

Came here to watch Arsenal v Liverpool game with other Tampa Arsenal fans. The food is actually much better than you may expect from a "club". The fries are salty and thick. The avocado chicken sandwich is really tasty too. This was a great place to watch a game with some friends.

We had a great time playing trivia and having drinks. Great smashburger with fries. The bartenders were friendly and the trivia was fun. Lots of people great vibe exciting environment.

Visiting from Dublin, Ireland, looking to watch Leinster v. Scarlets Qrtr Final rugby match live at 10am on a Saturday morning ... MacDinton's pub management arranged for the match steaming subscription, we had a lovely breakfast and a couple pints of Guinness! Brilliant service, friendly staff, good food & drink

The fact that they fired Mike (the best bar tender at the main bar at any given time) over someone who barely attend MacDinton's is insane. This is someone who has been here the first time I've came here, which is years ago, and should be here till the last time I'm here. They should be embarrassed firing one of their best workers for because of absolute nonsense. I hope this message is heard because this is coming from someone who has been here for a better part of a decade.

I went to MacDinton's last night to see my favorite bartender Michael and, to my surprise, I heard he was terminated over something ridiculous! I started going there a few years ago when you would post videos on instagram with the bartenders favorite shot and went there for that! Michael is BY FAR your best bartender. Whole package, speed, customer service, friendly, therapist, and all around a great dude! I am unsure of the whole story behind all of this, but I truly feel (as a manager in this service industry) Michael should be allowed back to work.

The fact they fired Michael is absolutely absurd. i met Michael a few months back and from the moment I met him till the day he got fired he treated me with respect and always looked out for me (which is tough to do in a busy bar.) and now out of the blue hes fired? Over a situation with a random? Like get your priorities right dits!!! Take care of your own #bringbackMIKE!! Dits isn't the same without him.

Best bars to party when you're in college. Dollar beers on Thursday, can't go wrong with that.

Update - just went through these reviews as well as Google Reviews, and it looks like this is common practice for this establishment. DISGUSTING!! They should be sued for assault, endangering minors, and intimidation. I just witnessed this guy take money from a couple of under age girls to let them get in the bar. However, it looked like another girl refused to give him money, and he got very aggressive, and literally slapped her hand. I don't care if the girls were right, or wrong. It was infuriating to see this guy hit a girl half his size and age...COWARD!! I think the guy pulling him back, saw it happen too. This establishment needs to be careful, before they get slapped with a lawsuit for assault and getting paid on the side to let under age kids get in.

Terrible customer service and food was just as bad, also very hostile environment. Would not recommend!

I love macdinton's it's so great, I'm a long time customer Gina Marie is by far one of the best. I approached her tonight and saw her outside by the doors. Not my usual spot but made sure to stop for a drink.

Food was bad, service was horrendous. The establishment also felt very aggressive to lgbt friends of mine.

Clyde and Michael are so kind and sweet. They were so wholesome and made my friends and I feel so safe. Give them a raise immediately!! They are angels sent from heaven!!!!

Me and my friends flew from Toronto to Tampa this past weekend for Halloween. Friday we went to MacDintons for their 7 deadly sins leather and lace. We were thoroughly impressed at how much the staff dressed up. The whole place was decorated, there was great music and the bartenders had great energy. We loved how they extended the bar outside and had a DJ out there. Friday night our bartender was Quentin under the tent and we loved him so much we actually came back Saturday. Saturday we loved him, Ashley, and Bailey on the smaller bar on the patio area. You guys know how to throw a party! Already planning coming back next Halloween! Thank you for such a fun and unique experience.

Mac Dinton's has great cheeseburgers and fries. The wine doesn't have any sulfites. Great tasting and healthy red and white wine.

Come hear to feel different- when I hear " I like to move it move it" I immediately side eyes the several twenty somethings that must be thinking this song is an original that seem to be losing their minds. That's when I knew I was too old to be in this place. Three long islands later paid for by someone's son that thought my drink was unique made me second guess my assumptions. :-) This could work. The bar was busy but good. Super strong drinks! I do a drunk smile ahead and notice a dude at least 60 years old. Yes I'm not the oldest person here on a Monday night! Most people are watching a pitiful Miami game and sipping drinks as they chat with friends but a small few are dancing (the main reason I'm here.) An IG post lead me here for salsa/bachata dancing (but there wasn't much dancing) and the drinks have me stuck. It's an ok bar.

I am very much a regular here this is my spot! I love this place I've been here so much since the first time I've reviewed this place ! It's Literally the best and located right in the middle of Soho here in Tampa, i've had so many good nights at this bar it's ridiculous it's a vibe every time I walk in and The drinks baby !!!! Went here tonight to celebrate my graduation with my family and a bouncer grabbed my bother for no reason and escalated a situation that didn't need to get physical. We had been explaining to the bouncer that we were saying our goodbyes to our family members and were getting ready to leave and they were being impatient, and constantly kept telling us that we needed to leave immediately when we were getting ready to go. However, they refused to listen to us and understand that we were saying our goodbyes, and it ended with my brother being dragged out by bouncer for no reason.

Absolute terrible customer service. The bar back pushed us before even asking us to move out of his way while we weee kindly ordering drinks from the bartender. Then the "manager" pulled us aside and had a talk with us saying we were wrong because we were standing in the Bar backs way. Completely siding with the bar back that had a complete egotistical attitude. The bartender even tried to say it was her fault not ours or the bar backs. She was just being nice. The barback was a complete d**k. Our three drinks were just placed on the counter in front of us. Any respectable employee would let the customer grab the drinks and pay the bartender before shoving the customer out of the way. I will NEVER go back. If you've worked in customer service you know this is not how you treat paying customers.

The place to be in soho!!! Newly remodeled outdoor HUGEEE patio, drink/food specials ALLL the time. Helpful staff. Amazing boneless crispy wings!!!! This is truly the definition of a BAR, as you will come here and guaranteed to meet someone to chat with haha! Everyone is so friendly, and if there are ever any problems, security is on it ASAP. My applause to the owner! Very affordable drinks/food, especially considering this is a very college populated area. -1 star because this place does tend to get TOO crowded on weekends and there's barely any room to walk.

Completely unreasonable, saw someone get thrown out because they wanted bottled water and you didn't have it. Never coming here again

Everytime I go to Macs I have a great time! Not to mention Ana is a great server on game days and a great shot girl at night. Love when she serves me as I always feel welcomed with good vibes.

First time ever eating here! They have $15 unlimited mimosas on Sunday's with live music! We ordered the boxty balls with beef- kind of like stuffed mashed potato balls that are deep fried! Came out fresh and so good with the accompanying sauce. We also ordered the pub pretzel which was nice and soft with delicious beer cheese!

I've becoming coming to this establishment every week with me and a dozen other of my buddies. We actually go out of our way to gather a major crowd to come out and support this place because not only are the prices on Thursdays insanely irresistible, but also the music and multiple different bars with different vibes are all you could ask for. Me and one of my other buddies feeling in the brink of the moment, and after witnessing all night many individuals going on the stage indoors next to the DJ dancing, felt a sense of excitement. I got on staged, grabbed my friends hand and twirled him around, nothing inappropriate, in fact was very romantic and overall very alive, exciting for the both of us, which is exactly what you want in a night out. Within seconds we were kicked off staged by a security guard saying the stage was for woman only. After a few seconds of confusion and conversation the security guard basically stated only woman are allowed to enjoy the staged, in exact words "show off themselves" while all I had was allowed was the dance floor and was warned to stop questioning or else we would get kicked out. Keep in mind, me and my friend were being very respect and in general making the highlight of our night, while also having a dozen of our friends cheer and celebrate the night with us. I understand for marketing reasons you tend to appeal for a certain demographic. To just be so blatant that you want only woman to show themselves off instead of a collective group of EVERYONE having such a great time kinda completely destroyed my excitement for the establishment. I'll be coming back next week and the week after but it's just the overall message that sends an uncomfortable feeling over me and all my buddies. It was hard looking at the stage seeing individuals have so much fun knowing I would get kicked out within a heartbeat.

Not a family friendly place. Fights every weekend. Cops are there and do nothing. Waiting for something to escalate like it did in Ybor. I won't be back.

Biggest wings ever! Had Buffalo, bbq and jerk- all were great and huge! Service was nice , large patio.

The food from the food truck is a delicious and fresh. The environment is nice and friendly with fast service. I love the chicken wing's, hot, fresh, and crispy.

Good parking, great ambiance, and FANTASTIC customer service. If you go be sure to order from the best, Gina! She is quick, friendly, and super personable. I don't go out much so I'm always anxious when ordering drinks because I don't know what I like and she was beyond patient and gave amazing recommendations and everything she gave was amazing. She didn't rush me to get to someone else, she truly made a mommy night out the best experience. I will certainly return just to see her.

Came here while visiting Tampa and Hannah W. made the experience absolutely incredible! Had such a fun time because she took such good care of me and my entire group all night while handling everything else going on and always had a smile on her face. Hope that girl gets a raise soon, definitely will be coming back because of her!
