Macelleria Popolare’s counter is a top destination for chefs and diners searching for Italian street foods of yesteryear. Tongue, spleen, tripe, lampredotto (the cow’s fourth stomach), chopped heart, and fried brains are paired with prodigal butcher Giuseppe Zen’s daily choice of wines. Picky eaters can stick to meatballs fried in gargantuan breadcrumbs or select some cheeses from the stall in the Darsena market nearby. Order and sit outside at the picnic tables overlooking the canal.
Best for: The best street food in Navigli canal district, tucked away inside a market that visitors often miss." - Elizabeth De Filippo-Jones
“A dining destination for raw, roasted, braised and grilled meats expertly prepared and served to standing guests with an incredible selection of vino.” - Katie Parla
Also great tiramisu and coffee.
Part butcher shop, part sandwich shop, part standing bar. Many meat and offal small bites that can be grilled. Prices are super reasonable - skewers range from €3-5 and plates €10-20. Some brilliant items, including a fantastic tiramisu.

Without question the best sandwich I've ever had in my entire stupid life. Bread-steak-bread and that's all it needed. Perfect everything and as I got to the last bites I got extremely sad because the sandwich was ending. If I'm ever anywhere near Milan I will go here and shove as many of these sandwiches into every hole in my body.

This place is fantastic, away from most tourists and by the river. It is almost like a butcher at the market. If you go outside on the weekend, they have tables and local musicians for entertainment. They also sell local wines, and the meats are from naturally raised animals. You may want to ask what everything is... But whatever you do, try the "Grandma's recipe meatballs". Yum!!! Enjoy!

Great atmosphere (sit by the canal while enjoying your dish), lovely and kind staff (they encourage me to speak Italian but will use English to help me understand), and tasty food (I've been slowly working my way through everything). Love coming and having some freshly cooked meats and drinks with friends!

A rare street food gem in Milan! I ordered Genovese Panini/ Burger (?) and they made it right there! Really yummy and worth the long line I had to wait in.
The place is inside a market in the Navigli area, so you can takr it outside and eat it by the river, to have a little "wanderlust" experience in a day!

So far, it has been the best meat based street food in the city. The burgers are just glorious: simple and fresh and juicey. A must try indeed.

This was a very interesting spot located in the Mangiari di Strada. A focus on sandwiches made from specialty parts animals. They were pretty good but felt we needed some sauce or extra seasoning to give them better flavor. Weird menu but chef was extremely helpful when ordering. Wine list is also all natural wines, which I do not prefer.
