Macera Review - Chueca - Madrid - The Infatuation

"You’ve come to the right country if your go-to drink is gin and tonic, and while you can order one at any bar, Macera makes the best G&Ts in Madrid. Stop by before dinner if you want a quiet drink, or come around 1am when the bar becomes more of a party." - Cristina Shipe

The entrance price is good, the techno room is awesome, but the raeggeton uuurgh could be better. BTW the price of a drink 🥃 is very expensive

I was really looking forward to the experience at Macera Club, but unfortunately, the first impression was quite disappointing. The receptionist – a brunette woman – was incredibly unpleasant and unwelcoming. Her attitude made the very first step of the experience uncomfortable and awkward. It’s a shame, because first impressions matter, especially in a place that’s supposed to be about fun and adventure. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures guests are met with a friendly, professional welcome in the future.

A bar open very late and selling lots of alcoholic drinks… but refuses to provide tap water to customers who have paid €18 to get in. Pretty sure that is illegal. It’s definitely a terrible way to treat customers. I will not be returning.

Good drinks and vibe INSIDE the club. Service of the bouncers was terrible. I heard a lot of bad comments about how they treat people in line (even getting physical) and got to experience it personally.

Decent club with: -fun people -respectful bouncers -good music (downstairs techno upstairs raeggeton/commercial) -not overpriced -Good light installation downstairs -Good quality of sound

This used to be one of my go-to spots because of their awesome cocktails made from their own macerated liquors. However, they’ve recently stopped serving their own liquors and have replaced them with commercial brands (not even good ones). Their cover price is still the same (14€ including one drink), which isn’t worth it for the low-quality cocktails currently available. In terms of atmosphere, it’s a mix of Spanish and international people. On the main floor, they play a mix of reggaeton and commercial music, while the basement is electronic music.

Pros: the cocktails are delicious and the staff are great. The setting itself is also really nice. I would return due to the great service. Both the bartender mixing drinks and the servers were on point and I was impressed how fast they were based on how busy it was! Cons: the music is really loud, so if you intend to have a conversation without screaming and asking "what?!" a million times, it might not be the best place 😅

They won't give you a glass of water because there is a legislative "gap". Hay que ser Miserables
