Machete Grill Taco Factory - Review - Chamblee - Atlanta - The Infatuation
"This barebones Chamblee spot serves so many different Mexican dishes, the menu reads like a graphic novel. But when it’s time to order, take a hint from the “Taco Factory” part of their name. Machete's fish taco has all of the usual suspects (battered white fish, pickled cabbage, and a creamy, spicy sauce) and simply out-muscles the other tacos with its hefty fried coating. But the other proteins are good, too, with enough flavor to almost render their red and green salsas useless. Get a few for $5 each the next time you need a quick meal to scarf down in the simple dining room or out of a styrofoam container in your car.
Food Rundown
Fish Taco
Order this fried beauty first and foremost. It gets a little pizazz from the pickled cabbage shavings on top and the fish breading soaks up a bit of the creamy, spicy sauce.
Al Pastor Taco
Our second favorite protein option, the al pastor comes in bite-sized bits with a slight char that gives it a smoky taste. In terms of toppings, all you really need are the standard onions and cilantro. But the mild salsa verde works nicely if you just can’t pass up adding something.
Enchilada Verde
You should really get the tacos. But if you’re off tacos for the moment, these are a solid replacement. Inside the corn tortillas is a medley of chicken, cheese, and chopped-up jalapeños for a little heat. Order some salsa verde on the side, because it isn’t quite as saucy as we’d like." - Juli Horsford
