"The Italian owner of this cute little European-style cafe knows from panini, so count on the real deal layered with the likes of prosciutto crudo, goat cheese, and fig jam or coppa, fontina, giardiniera spread, and arugula. (He also makes breakfast sandwiches, deli items like pasta salad and quiche, and, ma certo, excellent coffee.)" - Josie Sexton, Eater Staff, Ruth Tobias

Yelp
Great food even better customer service. I talked to Ricky and she was the sweetest! And the bagel was both affordable and scrumptious!

Yelp
Another amazing discovery! This tiny coffee shop/cafe/bakery is tucked in between two bigger businesses. At glance, it's very much overshadowed by them where you might miss it especially if you are driving to find it. Parking might be tough as it's located in the Highland area. Well, I am pretty you'll manage to park for a great place like this. The offerings are quite large despite the size of the cafe. Tiny body but big heart they say when people describe something/someone with a small stature with huge personality/characteristics/generosity. This cafe is exactly that. The young lady upfront was very pleasant to me. I had all kinds of questions about the items on the menu which she patiently answered. I'm a huge Italian gnocchi fan. Their Gnocchi Alla Romana didn't escape my notice. These guys are a bit different from the traditional kind the Italians make. She described them as "polenta" in their texture but corn is not the ingredient (so they still use potatoes to make them was my impression.) They come in a set of six but the price is super reasonable at $7. And each one is a good bite size. She asked me how many of them should be warmed up/baked as they have to be cooked to be served/consumed. I asked for one to go with my doppio. Totally my bad. I should have said everything was for to-go. She then apologized saying that it was her fault not asking. This kind of polite/considerate gesture is simply top-notch. She then transferred my doppio into a to-go cup. In my car, I sipped my doppio and ate the one cooked gnocchi. And oh my heavens, the gnocchi was superbly made. As she described it, it does have a similar texture to polenta but it does taste like the gnocchi but with a different something (can't really describe how different though!!) Amazing! I can rave about this place to my friends and family but today, I chose the easiest way to do so: by posting this perfect 5-star review on none other than Yelp! Maci, you truly are a hidden gem.

Alex L.

Yelp
Cute cafe with friendly staff! Got the fumo (4/5) and the smoky paninis (3/5), as well as a well needed iced mocha (4/5). Great for a quick bite.

Mary F.

Yelp
I didn't take a picture of the food but I ordered the usual, spicado, and the gigia. The sandwiches were a little dry but my favorite would be the spicado cause it has the nice little kick with the avocado balancing it. Ordered a chocolate croissant which was a little too rich for me and two bombolonis which were good. For a small shop it was very busy, would definitely recommend ordering online!

Keanie T.

Yelp
Amazing cafe in Lohi. Reasonable wait times. Some of my favorites are the Usual or Spicado for breakfast and the Debra panini for lunch. They also have delicious lattes. I recommend this spot to everyone. If you download the clover app you can order ahead and redeem points

Noah K.

Yelp
Love this place so much that I almost don't want to write a review and make it busy . Awesome morning spot to hit before work or early on a weekend before your morning walk. Great selection of iced and hot coffees along with an eclectic mix of bottled beverages in the refrigerator. The baristas are always friendly and helpful if you need a recommendation. Quaint inside with around 8 seats and an additional few tables outside. My favorite part of the menu is the breakfast sandwiches and breakfast bagels. The uniquely named sandwiches are all fantastic. I'm currently addicted to the Spicado.

Lex P.

Yelp
hidden lil sando' gem! don't be misled by the "panini" label as i assumed my sandwich would come out pressed and melty. pleasant surprise - the bread is soo fluffy & they have tons of toppings to choose from. i had a Debra (veggies, chz, olive tapenade) and added salami. i love fresh crunchy veggies on my sandwich. minus 1 star because it was not that busy and it took remarkably long for my sandwich to be ready. worth the wait though. there is a small patio available and some indoor seating as well. very simple aesthetic. they offer breakfast sandwiches and burritos as well!

Aundya A.

Yelp
Their green chili combined with their mozzarella sandwich was a great combo for lunch. Their lunch deals were great, and they didn't take too long to make. This local shop is fun to drop into for any meal, and the staff is very friendly. There isn't much indoor seating, but the outdoor patio was perfect on a nice fall day.

Jamiah A.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches are alright. Light on substance. Decent coffee. Order the Terriano it's their better sandwich option. The sandwiches are meant to be served on a brioche bun but I received 2 bottoms of a bun which disrupts the quality of a sandwich and softness that a brioche bun would typically have. Surprised that the chef would put that out... really ruined the experience as I was looking forward to trying this place out

Laura R.

Yelp
I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance, and I'm on a mission to try everything Maci has on their menu. Their ingredients are incredibly fresh and the ratios on the air paninis and sandwiches are always on point. They offer a variety of high quality drinks and baked goods as well. Run, don't walk to Maci's

Cindy L.

Yelp
Maci cafe is a smaller bodega style cafe. They have a few tables of seating both indoor and outdoor and a pretty decent menu for food and drinks. I got a usual breakfast sandwich and thought it was just okay for $7. Other reviews note the sandwiches so maybe those are a bit better than their breakfast. Not sure I'd return unless i was in a pinch.

Louis N.

Yelp
Love this place! It doesn't look like much on the outside, but man is this place a great little spot for coffee, paninis, and pastries. They have very little indoor seating, but do have some cute outdoor seating. Can't go wrong with a classic cappuccino, almond croissant, or the fig and Bothai panini (fig, prosciutto). Definitely worth a stop if you are in LoHi!

Andréa N.

Yelp
A great fast and casual spot! Came here on a whim looking for a quick snack and was very impressed by this little Italian cafe. We tried the fig and prosciutto panini which was so delicious and a great mix of flavors! We also tried the almond croissant which was one of the best I've had! It was flaky and crunchy but not too sweet. I also got a cappuccino which was really delicious and authentic. Will definitely be back!

Rebeca O.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere, as well as fast service. The hurry panini is scrumptious, highly recommend.

Trish C.

Yelp
Stopped in during a short trip to Denver and was not disappointed. The gentleman that took my order was so nice and personable (and funny!). Most importantly, the sandwich was phenomenal for a great price. Filled me up perfectly and I enjoyed the nice patio. Will be back.

Hunter F.

Yelp
If you want a dry, small, sandwich for $12 this is your spot. Breakfast burrito is eggs in a small tortilla for $8. Next to no sausage in the one I got. Went to try it out living nearby. Very disappointed.

Avery C.

Yelp
This is my go to breakfast spot when I lived in Denver. It's such a petite restaurant, but wow the food is so good. We like to sit outside and enjoy our breakfast. Love this place!

Taylor V.

Yelp
This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I are now addicted and come back every weekend to try a new panini! Love their little outdoor patio.

Cam R.

Yelp
Great but tiny sandwiches! I would order two but than it would be a $24 sandy still 5 stars cuz the sandwich was dank

Grecia P.

Yelp
This cozy little spot amidst the bustle of the Highlands might be easily missed if you walk by too quickly, but you'll definitely want to check it out! LOCATION + There was no line on a Saturday morning and plenty of seating! There is also free street parking out front, as well as a paid lot that is close by. + It's small, but plenty of tables to sit at. There's also an outdoor patio for nice days. FOOD/COFFEE + There are plenty of food options and all the common coffee drinks. I have a vanilla latte that was decent and hit the spot. I also had the kaiser roll breakfast sammie - they were kind to switch the ham with turkey for me! It's pretty affordable to come here too with all the expensive restaurants nearby.

Robert W.

Yelp
Great coffee but the highlight is clearly the food -- especially the paninis. Chef Mas formerly Executive Chef in Italian restaurants in Aspen, Vail and Cherry Creek plus il Fornaio in LoDo before they lost their lease. Creative interpretations made with high quality ingredients. I've eaten at least five different sandwiches -- all brilliant. Small place so takeout is recommended.

Diggity D.

Yelp
Stopped in for a coffee and quiche, what a pleasant welcome and experience. Thanks for a beautiful lazy Thursday.

Michael F.

Yelp
What a great neighborhood cafe. So reminiscent of Europe. The staff is great and welcoming and the coffee is on point. The "Awesome" sandwich, add prosciutto is on point. Why add the prosciutto you ask? The more meat the merrier. Ha ha. If you are more of a breakfast person check out the burritos. They carry 4 flavors and man are they delicious. My favorite is the Pork Breakfast Sausage, but I have tried them all and ....mmmmmmmmm. If you have not tried Maci Cafe, put it on your list, grab and go and sit in the park and enjoy!

Janelle S.

Yelp
My new favorite sandwich place (previously was snarfs)! Unique and tasty sandwiches! Fast service too! I never get a side but the pasta salads and sweet treats look really good too! Most recently I got the roasty and it was delicious! I also got a flat white coffee (on a cold Rainey day) and that was really great as well! I have to remember they serve good coffee options!

Anna B.

Yelp
Great location for some great sandwiches. I've been meaning to write a review of this place for a while. This was one of the first businesses I visited in Denver; when my now husband and I were doing long-distance in 2014, I came to this cafe to get a sandwich and get some work done (I was working remotely). Their sandwiches are simple; they remind me of the simple (and delicious) European paninis we got in France and Italy. And I'm pretty sure that's what they're going for in this shop. They've nailed it! You can get breakfast variety or lunch sandwiches, both are perfection. They also have an assortment of other snack foods & coffees. Great spot in LoHi. Hope this place sticks around forever!

Andrea S.

Yelp
Finally tried out Maci's since my husband and I are on a sandwich kick. My husband hadn't had breakfast and I was ready for lunch... so Maci's fit the bill. My smoky panini (prosciutto with arugula, smoked mozzarella, and olive tapenade) was just what I wanted on this hot day. It was filling but not heavy like a lot of sandwiches can be. I did only get a few bites of smoked mozzarella and olive tapenade... so that was definitely a bit of a bummer! Otherwise it was a very solid panini.

Amruta J.

Yelp
Stopped by the cafe when visiting denver recently. It's a really cute spot with indoor(limited) and outdoor seating. We are vegetarians and ordered several different items that were all tasty, although not everything is made in house. I had the Vegetarian burrito, and family ordered the bagel sandwiches and iced matcha latte. The flavor profiles weren't as exciting as the menu made them sound but all tasty nevertheless. The cashier was fun with a punchy attitude, nice entertainment.

Amanda P.

Yelp
What a cute little cafe with an awesome vibe!! It looks kind of unassuming from the outside but it's awesome. Their paninis are bombbbb. I got their special, the meatball, but holy cow was it spot on! I was gonna save the rest of it for home but your girl ate it real fast! Bummed around a bit after lunch with my laptop and was super into their speed of wifi (that's important!). And then they were just streaming Star Wars on the projector like hello that's so chill. Highly recommend! What to try: paninis!

Katie S.

Yelp
Screams European coffee bar! Serves Rosenbergs bagels and delicious breakfast sandwiches. I think the owner Maci made my Revel breakfast sandwich (turkey and veggie cream cheese on a plain Rosenbergs bagel.) The shop has a great European vibe with very little wait time for my drinks and food. The selection of food and drinks is impressive. Leave the uber trendy breakfast spots with long waits for this quick and cozy coffee shop.

Aspen D.

Yelp
I love this little Italian cafe! They have incredible paninis for lunch and delicious coffee in the morning. It's a funky style inside with brick walls and colorful art hanging. It's small inside with just three small tables and a bar, but there's a large patio outside. The staff is friendly! I live in the neighborhood and am making this my go-to coffee.

Jackie W.

Yelp
I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was frozen which was subsequently reheated for me. The breakfast burrito was OK, not great. I could tell the flavors weren't fresh. I'd like them to make their foods fresh.

Ella M.

Yelp
Love this cafe and lucky to live nearby. The staff is great and the food/coffee is amazing! Favorite breakfast sandwich is the terriano :)

Jane P.

Yelp
Pro: if you like artichokes - get the HRQ. The breakfast burritos are like super cheap. Everything is very well priced. It's a very great neighborhood cafe and the service is great! Con: they only have like 4 patio table so you gotta really time it right if you want a spot haha

Robert S.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in LoHi! They have a diverse menu with a bunch of healthy options. Their bagels are unmatched! I would also love to buy their homemade pasta to cook. Truly a hidden gem for breakfast or lunch.

Sara M.

Yelp
ordered two matcha lattes and it was more milk than anything else and the girl helping us was very rude and gave an attitude the matcha wads nasty. Don't recommend bad service and nasty products.

Melanie S.

Yelp
This place is special. I wandered in here while I was killing time before an appointment, as the cold weather had me craving soup. I was immediately feeling warm and fuzzy based on the way the woman working the counter greeted me, which was really friendly and welcoming. I inquired about their soup selection, and she did a good job at explaining what the soup that day was like. I asked for a cup, and parked nearby. At first I was thinking it was taking a minute more than I expected. Usually there's just a vat in the back, or they stick a pre-prepared soup in the microwave, but soon I saw who I assume was the owner slowly heating up the soup in a pot on the stove. I loved this! At a place this small and with this many options, it is not crazy to have soup pre-made, and I thought it was lovely that he was taking the time on a busy day to slowly heat the soup to make sure it was delicious. When it was set in front of me, I was delighted to find it was amazing. I was reading a book on my phone, so appeared a bit disengaged, but the owner took the time to come over and explain that his friend prepares this soup, and asked if I wanted sriracha. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a full body sriracha suit, and would put it on anything, so I was thrilled! Sriracha was just the ticket to take this soup to the next level, as was the owner going out of his way to make sure I was eating the best version of the soup I could be. Later, I noticed a little girl run behind the counter to give him a hug, and saw how genuinely delighted he was to see her. I figured it may be a relation, but after observing the interactions between the owner, the girl, and her mother, it seemed like they may just be regulars. He then wandered to her table when things calmed down so she could excitedly show him videos on her phone. Another man began leaving, and the owner made sure to let him know he still had his book, and would be returning it soon. I have never really seen interactions like this in the city, especially in the super trendy and popular Highlands. This owner knew almost everyone in the shop (and it was pretty busy for a random mid-day), and everyone loved him. It makes sense, he took the time to speak with me and offer me sriracha when I was completely unwelcoming and absorbed in my phone. The magic of this place is in the ownership. There are a lot of cafes, and even though my soup was amazing, there's a lot of good soup. The thing that will make this cafe a staple is the amazing warmth of the staff. It was like a small neighborhood spot in a giant city. I left raving about it to my husband, and telling him I couldn't wait to come back and try it with him, knowing he would love it. Never change, Maci! What you have is so magical.

E P.

Yelp
Consistently the best. My husband and I lived in LoHi 2 years ago and this was a go-to spot for breakfast & lunch (they close at 3). We just came back to Denver for a visit and got our favorite sandwiches (the Angi and the Crudello (add balsamic mayo)) and they haven't changed one bit. Go and treat yourself to a delicious sandwich!

Samantha C.

Yelp
Favorite breaky spot hands down. I've been going here since I was a teenager and everything remains the same fantastic quality.

hailey s.

Yelp
Don't let the tables and chairs fool you, just got kicked out for sitting down to enjoy my coffee and donut. Could have been told a nicer way instead of, "you know we don't do indoor dining, right?" by the girl behind the counter. 9 months pregnant wanting a treat because I was early before an appt. Thanks.

Annabelle W.

Yelp
I live down the street and have been coming here 1-2x per week for the past 5 years. I love the food, but won't be returning often due to negative experiences with the staff. If Massimo (the owner) isn't in expect bad service.

Nicole Z.

Yelp
The people who work here don't have a CLUE. I came in on a quiet morning ,wasn't busy, and simply ordered two sesame bagels, cream cheese on the side. The man at the counter kept asking for clarification but finally it seemed he got it. I sat down under the assumption he was preparing my simple order. I sat waiting holding my credit card thinking I'd pay when the order was ready. I sat there for about 10 min when a woman from the back says "I'm ready to take your order" I politely said "he's helping me already thank you" to which the man replied "I don't have an order for you. It was too complicated so I didn't make it". TWO BAGELS W CREAM CHEESE ON THE SIDE IS TOO COMPLICATED? I SAT THERE LIKE A SHMUCK WAITING FOR AN ORDER THAT THIS BOZO COULDN'T COMPREHEND OR COMMUNICATE HE WASN'T MAKING. Unbelievable. I'd give 0 stars if I could. How can you run a business when you give up on a simple order and keep someone sitting there waiting without saying anything. Ps the baked goods looked dry af Don't waste your time here but if you insist I recommend speaking slowly with simple sentences.

Hannah S.

Yelp
My all-time FAVORITE lunch spot in all of Denver. I always feel like I'm stepping into an authentic Italian cafe every time I go. Also, the folks who work there are always super fun and friendly. It's also so good that my fiance brings a lot of his clients here for meetings each week. The Bothai is the best sandwich and best part is, they have tons of gluten free options! The GF bread is so good, I had to go back up and make sure my sandwich wasn't on regular bread. 10/10 would recommend. To me, this is a restaurant staple in Denver.

Ranjita J.

Yelp
Great customer service! Good iced matcha latte. Slightly overpriced bagel but breakfast sandwiches were decent. Needed sauces to make them tasty. I wish they had more gluten-free (corn tacos or gluten free bread) options in their breakfast menu. This place had a fun vibe, the employees were masked, and we were able to sit outdoors. It is definitely worth another visit!

Sabine M.

Yelp
Cute neighborhood place with outdoor seating. A nice place to come with a friend, sit, and enjoy some very delicious coffee. Made me feel like I was in Europe. Had the iced coffee, but need to go back and try an espresso. Prices are reasonable!

Amanda M.

Yelp
This cute little cafe has a variety of beverages, salads and sandwiches. Everything was has came out in about 7 minutes and was delicious. The service is friendly and they have a nice indoor and outdoor seating area. It's conveniently located close to REI if you're in the area.

Ly V.

Yelp
This place is always on point! Great variety on freshly baked goods, quiches, gluten free, kombucha, paninis, coffee and so much more!! I tried the nitro coffee and Boy was I glad! It's smooth, clean and has enough richness just to satisfy the palette. I'm no coffee Conniseur, but it satisfies my craving for a nice dark roast coffee. It pours like a Guinness so IGers pull out your cameras for that slomo. Sadly I didn't catch it in time. Got the quiche and it's always made right to fill me up. There's a few tables and chairs outside to enjoy the nice weather too.

Andy D.

Yelp
Awesome prosciutto sandwich (called Hurry but I was in no hurry whatsever as his sandwich was delicious). Christy and Annie were fabulous and very down to earth/personable and you can tell many regulars frequent this joint as they were in first name basis with many of the patrons. If I lived nearby, I'd be here every day! It's the little things, like offering a gigantic glass for water when every other coffee shop provides what seems to be a shot glass, just to get the patron to pay for a bottle. Love this place!

Todd F.

Yelp
Great breakfast stop in the Highlands section of Denver. Unique menu and friendly staff

S S.

Yelp
This spot is great! We had both gluten free and regular egg sandwiches and they were delicious! Will definitely come back. Quality food and a variety of options.

Muriel B.

Yelp
Food and coffee is simple and good but service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's perfectly friendly and other times it's surly AF and who needs condescending agression first thing in the morning?
