Google
Great service and super good vibe. The chili was soooooooo good you must try. I also had the southwest chicken sandwich and it was just as tasty as the chili. They also have a great secretion of beer and cocktails. Nice outdoor sitting to if you don’t want to sit inside. Will come back.

Google
Great spot for happy hour on their patio. Stopped by after a trip to the zoo for beer and an app. All good and the staff was great. Lots of really good daily specials. Saturday was $5 Atlas beers. Perfect location to rest after an afternoon at the zoo. Close to the metro. Great patio.

Came here for a quick lunch. Great grilled chicken sandwich. Excellent flavor. The bacon complimented it well. The brioche bun was perfection. Got the side salad with vinegrette. Cleaned the plate. Excellent sandwich.

We stumbled upon this place one afternoon - and were so happy we did. As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted and made to feel so comfortable. The fries were fantastic and the beer was cold - we will absolutely be back

Google
Incredibly welcoming service for our large party of 10. Kitchen was quick, food was delish, and all staff members were so nice. Haven’t had that kind of pleasant service anywhere else in a long long time. Thank you!

Google
Stopped in here on our way back to the metro from the zoo. This place did not disappoint, service is friendly and food is great. I had a Macintyre Burger with Gouda and Egg - WOW! Anyone that knows me, knows I am a picky eater and I enjoyed every bite of this delicious burger. Highly recommend if you are in the Woodley Park area!

Google
Perfect neighborhood bar. Service, drinks, and food are all good. Hummus, chicken wings, shrimp tacos, fries... all delicious.

Google
My first impression of the restaurant was not good. Upon arriving to pick up a meal order I had placed, the manager on duty did not want to listen to my issue with the amount charged and appeared to be helpless in resolving the issue. After emailing his supervisor, Karl Hemmer, I knew I had found a person with customer service skills. Apparently they had an issue with their website in updating their menu prices. In my mind, however, I had felt they should honor what was published. Karl agreed; and not only gave me the afore published price for the half rack of ribs, but also gave me a 20 percent discount for my having to make another trip to the restaurant. The ribs most certainly did appease my palate as well as being large enough to accommodate me with two meals. The coleslaw seemed to have been freshly made, and the barbecue sauce on the ribs was delicious. I highly recommend this to any fellow rib lovers, and I now recommend the customer service afforded at this restaurant as well.

Yelp
First time here for the CFP national Championship and absolutely did not disappoint! Crowded but not overcrowded, all tv's on with sound. We got the pretzel sticks and I got the pork schnitzel special - food came out very timely and is delicious!! The service here is top tier - feels like a family owned spot. Great portion sizes, excited to make this spot a regular for sports and bar food!

Kendoll C.

Yelp
Stopping by for a quick drink, using my DC Pub Pass, this was a great find for the DC area- Easy street parking, a casual cool sports bar with friendly, attentive, fast service- great vibe. Though we didn't order food, seeing fellow diner's dishes nearby I would definitely return to try a plate of delicious looking wings! Worth the visit, looking forward to re-visiting!

Rajit S.

Yelp
I just read on twitter that this bar is closing :( Bummer. We've been a couple times but the food, drinks, and service were good

Yelp
This will be our "goto" place when we are in Woodley Park. This is a classic pub with traditional pub fare. However, we visited during brunch and had a wonderful veggie omelet served with french fries. Strange, right? But it worked. Service is friendly, attentive and fast. Water glass never went empty and they really seem to care about taking care of their customers. We sat next to a very picky lady...you know the one. Everything was ordered with some type of special request. The waitress was both helpful and made sure she got everything right. The food is great. It was one of the better omelets i have had when dining out. It was made with fresh ingredients and came to the table HOT. The fries...plain outstanding. We are looking to return and try some more of their offerings. They also feature a huge bar with a decent beer selection. Would like to try that out as well.

Yelp
Great service and super good vibe. The chili was soooooooo good you must try. I also had the southwest chicken sandwich and it was just as tasty as the chili. They also have a great secretion of beer and cocktails. Nice outdoor sitting to if you don't want to sit inside. Will come back.

Yelp
Great service, great food, great prices. Cool and casual sports bar. Easily metro-able, just across the street from a red line stop

Daniel R.

Yelp
Solid pub in Woodley Park! Food is affordable, solid, and pretty dependable too. Patrick was a great server! The covered outdoor area is very nice too. Not a particularly memorable meal, but a tasty one nonetheless. Also I did lol at this suggestion on the check haha!

Jake G.

Yelp
This is the best bar in DC. Good food, great service, outstanding beer list, amazing service

Lisa K.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on our way to the Zoo. The service was quick and our server had lots of suggestions on the menu. I ordered an Impossible Burger and broccoli, my friends ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger and gave their approval. We also had a veggie quesadilla, which was a little soggy, but not inedible. I wouldn't mind coming back to have drinks or to explore the menu a little more. It's definitely worth a visit!

Casey H.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch. The potato soup was delish as well as the chili. I would definitely recommend it.

Jasmine A.

Yelp
After our visit to the zoo, we stopped off at Macintyre's for a late lunch. There's nothing fancy about Macintyre's menu, which is typical pub fare, but the food far exceeded our expectations. My husband had a burger and I had a steak and cheese sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back again. In addition to delicious food, the service was great, and prices are reasonable. Also, during happy hour, glasses of wine are $4.50 -- now that's my kind of place! Yelp
So there are two places in DC that if I lived there I would visit them religiously. They're Mission Mexican and MacIntyre's in Woodley Park. Macintyre's was such a nice surprise. We happened upon it after going to the zoo which also was amazing! I love animals, but also love food just as much ^_^. It reminded me of Titanic Brewery in Miami, but like the DC version. I had beer battered chicken tenders and fries and my parents had Beer Battered Fish and Chips. I'm not a beer person but anything that is beer battered has my name on it. It's something about the way the breading comes out it makes it so tasty. It was relatively slow that day and we also went mid afternoon, but I'm sure it picks up at night. It's very much like a pub/sports bar, but it was well-kept and has much personality with memorabilia on the walls. Also the TV's weren't glaring really loudly which is a plus because loud bar scenes can lead to raucous and unruly guests so I'm glad the noise level was low. It was subtle and quaint, but have off very old school pub bar vibes at the same time. There was also an outdoor seating area but it was pretty hot that day so inside was a better choice. Our sever was pleasant as well. I know that this would definitely be a go to spot if I was a DC resident. If ever I am back there I would totally return. Note that the tables inside are all high tops except for two by the windows and then you also have bar seating so anyone that is handicap would probably need to sit at those by the window or outside. Glad we went. Made our Woodley Park venture that much more exciting.

Roy S.

Yelp
Solid pub food, great service, comfortable space, full sports coverage, good specials, and fun nights. Can't go wrong.

Carlos C.

Yelp
Good pub to grab a bite, beer and chill for an afternoon! Ordered the Smoked Gouda Burger and honestly would recommend. Great bbq flavor! Service was alright. Staff was friendly but wasn't anything extraordinary.

Ray G.

Yelp
My family and I were in Washington DC for the first time visiting the sites. We were on our way back to the hotel when we stop to read the menu in front of Macintyre. We started to walk away when a person passing by us said you all are making a big mistake, this place has great service and the food is great. So we went in to Macintyre and let me tell you that person was 100% RIGHT!! The food, service, and the whole staff were all great it surpass the experience we had. GREAT JOB

Sarah E.

Yelp
We needed a spot to host a happy hour for a large group and Macintyre's was close to our hotel. It's a nice spot with outdoor, covered seating which was great for early March. They run a happy hour from 3 - 7 p.m. I would venture back when we are in town again.

Jessica L.

Yelp
Macintyre's doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a great spot for a casual meal in Woodley Park. Definitely has sports bar vibes, with tons of TVs. We've been a few times for lunch and the service has always been good. I've sat outside, inside at a table, and inside at the bar, and we've always had friendly helpful servers. The food is bar food, but it's all pretty good. We've tried the pretzels (the cheese sauce is delish), chicken tenders, quesadilla, burgers, and the buffalo chicken wrap. The buff chick wrap is by far my favorite thing on the menu. It's a well filled wrap with plenty of fried chicken and veggies. It says it comes with blue cheese dressing inside, but I was able to sub ranch with no problem. The fries are also delish. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I will definitely go back to Macintyres if I'm in the area. It's a great neighborhood spot for a casual meal!

Courtney W.

Yelp
This is such a great local spot to check out if you're anywhere near the area! Solid burgers and appetizers (the nachos are incredible), and the draft options are always plentiful! They do a great weekday happy hour special as well as some solid brunch options on the weekends!

Tyler C.

Yelp
Neighborhood hangout. Strong service. Always busy. Food isn't always Great, but is always good enough Nachos have limited toppings are often aren't warm. Bread pudding dessert is good. Hamburgers here are strong. Specials are your best bet.

Ruth C.

Yelp
We had been to the Smithsonian National Zoo and were walking back to the metro. We wanted to stop for a quick bite and a drink before heading back to our campground. Decided to stop at Macintyre's. Nice little place! It has an outdoor patio (shaded!). Great for "people watching!" Food was good. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels - hot and delicious! Also ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and fries. Very good as well. Beer selection is decent. I ordered a sangria - but it came in a can. Still not bad :) I'd recommend this place! Very close to the metro station.

Dan J.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in Woodley Park, DC (lunch or dinner). Owner Karl and server Antonio make my visits feel welcome and made this a local joy. Fortunately, they added their BBQ ribs to the full time menu, so you can now dig in any day of the week. If you like sports, they have many large screen TVs with games constantly being shown. They keep the volume down, so it's a good place to have a conversation. Huge drink list and wide variety of delicious food. Go here.

Juliet T.

Yelp
Tried grabbing a 'night cap' drink with my sister who was visiting from out of town the Friday after Thanksgiving. We walked in at 7:40ish. There were still patrons at the bar chatting away and all the TVs playing when out of no where an employee came storming up to us and said something quickly mumbling. We asked what he said and he forcefully said 'we're CLOSED!' We were very startled and taken aback by being confronted so aggressively and left immediately. Will not be going back, extremely off putting. There was no signage of an early closing that night so again was very jarring to be addressed in such an abrasive manner.

Terrence J.

Yelp
I can't honestly give decent review since the kitchen was not functioning and they could only do a partial menu. The nachos they did were fun though, and my buddy enjoyed the chili.

Sonja G.

Yelp
Great food, a fun atmosphere and the beer was good too! March Madness was happening while we were so that made it even more fun and lively. We liked it so much we went two nights in a row.

Semaria S.

Yelp
A hidden gem we stumbled upon after hotel check out. Pub style vibe with amazing food. The staff are so attentive and welcoming. My quesidella was such a large portion that I didn't finish it all. The brownie was soooo moist and delicious. We received a complimentary pretzel that was hot and fresh and melted in your mouth. I was able to find another sour on this menu that I also enjoyed. Very reasonably priced items for the portion size. Highly recommend 5/5

Jan J.

Yelp
I am always impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Great food. Try the ribs which fall of the bone. Very comfortable restaurant/bar. You will never be disappointed. A neighborhood find.

Bryanna G.

Yelp
Great location post zoo outing. Good for kids and families. Huge beer selection, and food options.

Allen T.

Yelp
The Food was A- The server was A- The Manager was D- The Ginger Ale was flat. I asked that they change the CO2. The server said that she needed to ask the manager. I could have asked nicer. I was a B-. The manager made excuses and declined to address the problem. He was contentious and showed no concern. He said that maybe I didn't know what I was talking about. I pointed out that I was in the movie theatre business for 30 years and DID know when a soda was flat. SHE brought me a can of Diet Coke. I did apologize to her and had a nice chat. He was a jerk and lousy at customer relations. I said that HIS behavior meant that I would not come back and did he care. He said NO.

Courtney K.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch after a visit to the Smithsonian Zoo. There was hardly anyone there, so service was very quick. I had the grilled cheese with bacon and it was one of the best I've had. The fries were good, too. My dad was surprised I ate all the fries because there were so many, but I was hungry. We got a couple of the brownies with ice cream to share and those were tasty, too. Nice little place to visit in DC.

Adi E.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch with my 6 year old son. Ordered around 215. Service could not be better. I had the pulled pork barbecue sandwich but subbed it for pulled chicken. So good with the melted cheese, mustardy barbecue sauce and roll it was on. Fries were just ok. My son loved his grilled cheese. They were super sweet to sub the french fries that normally come with kids meal for strawberries. Lagunitas on tap was cold and delicious.

Stacey N.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food! I had the Steak and Cheese which included tender steak and provolone cheese, with delicious onion and hot peppers loaded onto a warm hoagie bun, with to die for hand cut fries, and the perfect pickles on the side. The service was on par and the ambiance is exactly what you would expect from a well run pub. I recommend stopping by and enjoying an ice cold beverage and some delicious food.

Linda E.

Yelp
Extremely solid. I've walked past this place for years but now that I've gone in, I want to be a regular. Good beer and an underrated house burger. It's got a lively atmosphere and plenty of sports playing on the bar TVs without feeling too much like a sports bar. I'll be back next week.

Darcy C.

Yelp
OMG. So good! Friendly quick service. Ordered the nachos with chicken. Amazing! Next we ordered the baby Bella quesadilla. Delivered quickly hot and delicious as well. Love the atmosphere. Great playlist. Definitely recommend

Joshua G.

Yelp
Service was good and friendly. Owner was fun and also helped the bartenders which was great to watch as that doesn't happen often. Being from Texas, it was weird to see they put cheese and coleslaw on a brisket sandwich but heard it was amazing! This place has a fun chill vibe if that's what you're looking for.

Yvonne G.

Yelp
After the zoo we decided to stop and eat. Didn't really expect exceptional food since this is a bar but it was actually surprising. The lady at the bar brought us our drinks and took our order. We ordered the sausage with was a special for the day , my daughter had the seared tuna on the appetizer menu and it was fresh and very flavorful. And my other kids got the nachos which were huge and didn't finish one. The baseball game was on so we got to watch a game while having lunch it wasn't too busy so it it was nice not rowdy at all. Everyone was super nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to eat. We were in NY shortly after and my daughter noticed she lost her camera, well we backtracked our steps and called all over and Macintyre's said they had it. We were super relived. I asked them if they would be able to ship it to my home in California and without hesitation they said they would. I can't describe how happy we were that they did this for us. We had so many memories in that camera that there would have been lost if they would have said no. We are super happy and thankful to them for that. Thanks again for the great food and service!

Yush H.

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch. Great grilled chicken sandwich. Excellent flavor. The bacon complimented it well. The brioche bun was perfection. Got the side salad with vinegrette. Cleaned the plate. Excellent sandwich.

N P.

Yelp
A nice bar and grill. I had the bbq pork sandwich, and it was great. The sauce was a sweet honey mustard, and there was plenty of cheese.

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Wow. I wrote this in 2016 and forgot to post. lol. Been in draft. Delicious sandwich. A tad expensive but that's DC for ya. Drinks are pretty strong... which I'm good with. If you like beer... this is a cool spot... lots to select from

Andy H.

Yelp
Stopped here with the family after Zoo visit. Great food, great service and very reasonable prices.

Paula J.

Yelp
Soooo after a zoo visit we are now setting a tradition to walk here after the zoo, have some drinks and apps, then head to the train station close by. We had a 200 year old bavarian pretzel and I had some fish and chips paired with a long island ice tea because I guess I had a death wish in the heat, but you know...yolo... Right?

Zion C.

Yelp
Nice outdoor seating, really good food and awesome staff!! I don't recommend the guac because it's not fresh. However everything else was super good; I got the fish & chips and my friend got the angus burger w/bacon both came with fries It was also my friends bday and they were so sweet and found a candle and brought him out some ice cream! Lovely time

Paul F.

Yelp
Great service, nice food! Pleasantly surprised. Drinks are moderately priced and even has a Happy Hour! Definitely place to visit!!

Chad D.

Yelp
Mahi Mahi Tacos were awesome, Beer was great, clean, good music, friendly staff, good atmosphere, lots of TVs... not sure what else you need in a pub!?!

Anthony L.

Yelp
We loved this place sports bar w super friendly staff. Nice brunch good prices. Everything you want from a sports bar on. Sunday football afternoon. Bartender was great, manager was great, servers were great. We are coming back anytime we are in the area

Daniel J.

Yelp
There are a lot restaurants on this block, if you are feeling indecisive pop into here for bite. It is a step up from regular "bar food." I like the simple upgrades made to regular items (i.e. edamame with chili & garlic, if you don't feel like having them salted). I enjoyed my burger, and greedily wish there were more wings but I will definitely eat here again. Good: -Edamame (try it with Chili & Garlic) -Wings (try the Old Bay dry rub) -Carolina BBQ Pork Sandwich -Caesar Salad (added Chicken) -Food came out quick -Several TVs airing sport games -Waitress was funny and polite. Bad: -None

Kseniya K.

Yelp
Came here around noon on a Friday. Seat yourself kind of deal. Empty restaurant/bar. But filled up by 1pm. Bar atmosphere. TVs everywhere, people watching sports at the bar and high booths. Super casual. Ordered grilled cheese and pulled BBQ sandwiches ($14 both). Both dishes were underwhelming. Grilled cheese was very forgettable, as was the pulled pork. BBQ pulled pork was dry--barely any sauce on that brioche bun. Meat was tasteless. American cheese on both was stale and hard. Huge disappointment. Both sandwiches came with tons of fries, so you'll be full. But those fries were on the bland side, so not particularly satisfying. My bf's soda never arrived, but was counted in the bill. Very understaffed establishment. Only one waiter and a few harried busboys occasionally making appearance when serving food. No one checked in on us until we asked for the bill. Wouldn't be back, but this place gets busy in the evenings, as people flock to the bar and cheap, low quality food.

John T.

Yelp
Outstanding lunch spot right next to zoo. Great burgers and drinks! Lots to choose from On the me u and the beers are ICE cold!

Jeff P.

Yelp
Made a special trip to Macintyre's to find out when we get there they close at 8 on Sunday's. Please update your hours on here and on google so you don't waste peoples time and money.

Eric S.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS A PERFECT CHILL SPOT! Very hospitable and friendly folks. The 200 year old German soft pretzel sticks and queso were soooo good! and the fermented citrus creamsicle beer....WOW!! Wandered in on this place after visiting the Smithsonian Zoo in WDC. Definately stop in this place!!

James C.

Yelp
Happened upon this place randomly trying to find a place to watch the Giants game. The staff was amazing and accommodating, beer selection was decent and the food was delicious bar food. Would definitely recommend and come back!
