"Enjoy a flight of Scotch from this bar’s selection (or a whiskey-based cocktail like a Penicillin). The food menu here is pretty standard pub fare — a French dip, a grilled cheese — plus a few U.K. touches like Scotch eggs and fish and chips. Brunch is popular." - Missy Frederick

Google
Great place for weekend happy hour. It's a small restaurant so reservations are highly recommended. They have an extensive cocktail and spirits list, and they also offer whiskey flights. The food was delicious, although I would skip the fries because they were soft to the point of being soggy. I recommend the Scotch eggs, the bruschetta, and the super tender short rib. As for the service, it was good but maybe a little too quick. We asked for apps and the entrees to come later, but we didn't get much time to finish our apps before our main meals were out, so our table got kind of crowded. I'm guessing with such a small place they need to get their reservations in on time.

Google
After grabbing dinner, me and a buddy were just walking around the Mosaic District and stumbled upon this place by just luck (sometimes better lucky than good)!!! We were both visiting from out of town and knew nothing about the Mosaic District. We were able to get a couple of seats at the bar and the bartenders immediately welcomed us! They were all very friendly and genuinely seemed happy to answer any and all of our questions (of which there were many). Their selection is AWESOME! They have something for everyone--small dollar to high dollar, peaty to sweet, it's all there!! We ended up getting a couple of flights of scotch and bourbon!! Just a great way to wind down after dinner!!

Google
The food is atrocious. Came for Sunday brunch. The dressing for the salmon salad was the consistency of water. Tater tots were frozen. And most importantly the Whiskey selection was worse than duty free at an airport. Service was good. Not enough to make up for the basics of a good restaurant operation. Avoid .

Cuisine Quest

Google
This is the best whiskey bar in Virginia that I have experienced. The service is excellent, the selection is vast, the ambience is homely and comforting. (For interesting travel and cooking videos please visit cuisineQuest on YouTube, cheers!)

Google
Always a good time here. I get to sample different bourbon I've been considering buying. Pricing is fair and the service is always good. They normally have some good barrel picks as well.

Google
Beautiful place. I asked to see what their martini skills were. Unfortunately it tasted like tang. Everyone was friendly, service was soso, but ambiance was excellent. Will come back and have dinner to give them a chance.

Google
Great service by Amanda the bartender; wonderful cocktails. This place is a nice vibe and the prices are really good compared to DC cocktail bars. The iPad menus are a nice touch and the lance is designed really well. I didn’t dive in but they have a massive selection of spirits. Great spot for a solo trip, date or even hanging with friends. Well done.

Google
Food, service & atmosphere are great. But as a bar that prides itself on its drinks the choice to cheap out and use generic store brand mixers is mind blowing. More importantly it ruins mixed drinks. In response to the below comment: I wasn't confused. Staff clearly use supermarket brand tonic water in the G&T's. If I'm ordering top brand gin I'm happy to pay for top brand tonic such as Fever Tree...

Yelp
I was spending a Sunday with friends in the Mosaic district and we were looking for a place that was still doing happy hour. MacMillan actually runs their happy hour until 7pm which was awesome!! They had some apps and specific cocktail specials which was great. We were seated pretty much immediately and I loved the inside space. I felt immediately transported to a tavern or old library. I absolutely loved the decor. The menu was on an iPad which was interesting, but pretty easy to navigate and our server had some great recommendations. I did a bourbon smash which was pretty strong, but delicious. We also got a few apps to share, including the buffalo chicken sliders and chicken quesadilla. The apps were super delicious and perfect portions for happy hour. I loved the crema that the quesadilla came with! Overall, really delicious and quiet spot for drinks. Definitely check it out if you're in the Mosaic district.

Yelp
Really good selection of whiskey I ended up getting a single serving of Blanton. Which was pretty good! The rest of my party got rye which is a limited selection and unfortunately one of my other friends did not like the cinnamon whiskey they provided, malarkey, as opposed to fireball. Prices are also on the high side. Ambiance is pretty good parking is on the street if you come to the Mosaic district on a Saturday night be warned it is extremely busy and it's picked up in popularity over the years apparently. Overall if I was in the area I would definitely come back.

Yelp
This whiskey bar has a huge selection of whiskies along with a large selection of great food. My favorite thing was the Bourbon Cinnamon Baled Apples-perfectly ratio of bourbon taste with the sweetness from the vanilla ice cream. A perfect spot for a date night with great service! Apps: Scotch Eggs and Smoked Gouda Sliders Entrees: Braised Short Rib and Honey Chipotle Chicken Pasta Dessert: Bourbon Cinnamon Baked Apples Drinks: Mint Julep and Whiskey Sour

Yelp
A nice variety if you're a whiskey drinker though there could be other places with slightly better options. The food was great! Would definitely recommend the salmon or the brisket. The place looks small from the outside but inside it's not quite as small, but probably not the best size for a large party. The service was good as well.

Kelly M.

Yelp
The service, the food, and the ambiance were terrible. What an awful place--never go there. Please, if you have the chance to go, don't do it.

Will M.

Yelp
This place has many more whiskey bottles than seats available. Happy hour deal is really good for any cocktail fan, even for non whiskey drinkers. Would have liked to have more whiskey's neat available for happy hour thought. Apps packed a lot of flavor. Fries had a really nice crunch. Each table has a tablet to explore the menu.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Happy hour is every day between 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. SAY WHAT?! Does this include Saturday and Sunday? YEP! These three special hours provide $2.00 off any food items from the dinner menu, $2.00 off any cocktail on the menu, $4.00 a dram of any house spirit, half off all non-premium wine bottles AND $5.00 house beer or house wine. Awesome. You must come and give them a try when in the area--all their cocktails are dreamy.

Nina R.

Yelp
Stopped by one evening after dinner for a night cap. We tried the Whiskey 101 Flight. You can read about each type of whiskey so it makes you pay attention to the subtle flavors and undertones. Great way to try them out if you're not certain what to get. The atmosphere is amazing. I felt like I was in a secret world or something, like Harry Potter with all of these mystical bottles of magical elixars up on the whiskey wall! Nice vibes and atmospehere. The waitress was sort of abrupt and would just announce things to us super loud out of nowhere, like no chill nor engaging. I would certainly go back however, and try food items from the menu. Very impressed.

Yelp
Made a stop here during the Blooms Festival that was happening at the same time. My friends and I saw a sign that promoted their Kikori Sakura Whiskey Drink. We wanted to sit down for a bit after walking around and checking out the various booths. Walking in, I felt like I was transported to a library, or a really neat looking tavern type of aesthetic! We got sat promptly, admiring how pretty this venue is. Already deciding on what we wanted, my friends ordered their drinks while I got my whisky. My drink came out in such an interesting look. It's all pink with actual sakura petals on top which made it all prettier to take photos with. After my phone ate, I took a sip and immediately realized that it wasn't bitter. It was really strange. Drinking whiskey always felt like there was a strong aftertaste to it but this was smooth. The top was foamy as well and it masked off most of the drink until I made my way to the bottom of the drink. And that's when I went, " Ohhhh, there's the whiskey. " We were there for a bit to talk and discuss what everyone else's alcohol was like. I really had a fun time. Although I'm not much of a whiskey person, I'd love to try out their floats!

Kamali F.

Yelp
What a great place! Great drinks, great food and great customer service! The vibe here was really cool from the iPads at each table to view the menu, to 700+ bottle selection, to the decorations. They also have outdoor seating. I believe I saw on their menu that they have a daily happy hour!

Ian K.

Yelp
Macmillans ambience and inventory impressed me, but not so much for the service. We stopped in for a quick couple drinks before heading to dinner. The drinks were delicious and there is something here for everyone, not just whiskey and bourbon. The menu is on an iPad at the table but you don't necessarily order off of it which I thought was kind of odd they don't have physical menus. Why have the iPad if you can't order directly off it? The service was cutthroat and since they were busy, it felt like we were being rushed because there were multiple parties waiting to get seated. I was not happy when I closed my tab and the "tip" option on the mobile card terminal was defaulted to 30%. PROS: - Great ambiance and atmosphere - a true whiskey room - Selection of drinks and bites (offer more than bourbon and whiskey) CONS: - Cutthroat service (what I experienced) - Tip option is defaulted to 30%

Yelp
Met friends for brunch here, reservations for a table are recommended as the restaurant is small. There is a time limit on the tables depending on party size. Great brunch menu, seasonal drinks and massive whisky selection. Service was attentive. Recommend for those looking for a more reduced noise environment, compared to the larger restaurants in Mosaic, the noise level was not high and we could hold a conversation at the table without shouting at eachother.

Kamlesh S.

Yelp
I would actually give it 3.5 stars but rounded up. Ambiance is nice, food is always delish! There was 6 of us, Just weird that 1/2 the bourbon we ordered they were out of. How is a Whisky Room ever out of whisky? Especially Angels Envy! Any then they were out of Salmon...at 6:00!!??? But rounded to 4 because whatever we ordered was great. Old fashioned was a little too sweet.

Samantha T.

Yelp
MacMillan has great service, food and drinks. I highly recommend the short ribs and mashed potatoes. They have a wide variety of alcohol selections and the drinks are flavorful and strong. There's a daily HH from 4-7 with drink and food specials.

Aarti B.

Yelp
Delicious cocktails and crispy tots - try the House Cocktails! The cool ambiance feels like a whiskey library full of bottles from floor to ceiling with plush leather seats. There's a small section of outdoor dining in front of the restaurant. Good Happy hour deal with $2 off cocktails and dinner food items. Surprisingly, wasn't too crowded in the bar area (some of the bar seating was empty). The Maple Rose with Bourbon, maple syrup, rosemary, lemon juice, bitters, and topped with foamy egg white really hit the spot! It was hands-down my favorite cocktail and my pick over Glasglow Mule and Mint Julep (both were good too!). The cocktails pack a boozy punch! My pick is the crispy tots over the fries. The mac and cheese with smoked gouda cheese was fun to try, but not as memorable as the tots. As I nabbed some of hubby's tots from his BLT sandwich, we ordered a side of tots! Will be back for the Maple Rose and tots!

Yelp
Location: 2920 District Ave. Fairfax VA Website: https://themacmillan.com/ Menu: see website Hours: see website Price: moderate with low and high-end price points available Service: impeccable Parking: free lot parking with 1-2 blocks) Best whiskey bar, anywhere. Period. Selection, customer service, ambience, great food are all top notch here, a rare find and highly recommended. We had reservations for 6pm and had a large booth with great viewing of the entire space. MacMillan Whisky Room has an impressive collection of whisky, including bourbon and scotch. If that is not your taste (so sorry for you) they also have tequila, vodka, rum, brandy, wine, and beer. Their cocktail menu is impressive on its own but to also have hundreds of whisky options? My goodness you will be so happy here. If you're not, I don't want to know you. Our table of 6 had some dinner as well. The Buffalo cauliflower is remarkably, hauntingly good. Battered and fried perfectly and seasoned perfectly. Our table enjoyed three orders. The Buffalo chicken sliders and chicken sandwich rounded out our table's food order. (I won't comment on the loaded tots order for two reasons: (1) they are tater tots and (2) they were ordered without bacon, which was a little sad) We focused on whisky and cocktails. Our server was amazingly friendly and the perfect amount of attentiveness. The cocktail menu is full of great recipes and we loved everything. Every. Thing. The food was well-priced and perfect portion sizes. The quality was stellar. We cannot wait to return. I'm checking the hours now to see if I can go back for one more pour of the Jane Walker... Just kidding.

Yelp
There are bars and then there are events. This location is a place you will always have an event. The choice selection is amazing. The atmosphere the patio is open if you want to be outside, but I prefer the inside being able to look and enjoy everything that was there. It was a good place for groups but also for intimate conversations.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
Giving this place a 3 star for food, 4 star. The whiskey selection is great, the service is good, the food is ok. Come for the drinks and maybe apps.

John B.

Yelp
Located in Fairfax in the Mosaic District, the MacMillan Whisky Room may be better described as a whisk(e)y library. Hundreds of whiskeys line the walls with ladder access for the staff. Unless you want a seat at the bar, I'd advise a reservation. We had one and were told they had a time limit. Tables remained full the entire time we were there. Being good means you're going to be popular. Flight options are offered and can be customized. Individual pours can be had by the size of your choice. We started with the Triple threat old fashioned and Black Manhattan, then the Dalmore cigar malt reserve and Mcallallan 18. For food we had Scotch eggs, Boom boom cauliflower, Steak Frites, Steak & Guinness Pie. All items were top notch but the drinks are the star here. If you're not a whisk(e)y connoisseur (I'm not) I'd recommend looking up some options to sample as it's certainly here.

Mark N.

Yelp
An awesome whiskey bar with a whole bunch of whiskeys from throughout the globe - Bourbon, Japanese, Irish, scotch, some wine, beer on tap (Guinness, IPA, Stella) and great food to accompany the great selection of libation. My buddy and I usually go to a local beer joint, but based on a recommendation from a colleague, we visited MacMillans and I am thoroughly impressed. Every square inch of the establishment (up to the ceiling) has whiskeys stocked - by type (bourbon, scotch, etc) and alphabetic - thus, the bottle of Monkey's Shoulder stocked next to MacAllen 12, 15, and 18. Access is by a ladder (like you would find in an old library). The "high end" whiskeys are locked away in the shelves to the right as you enter the establishment and yes, it is impressive. The "Happy Hour" specials are decent (when we visited, it was Jameson, Four Roses for $4 for 1 oz). In addition to the special we had other whiskeys. The food menu is extensive - we did not order any food, but it did look tasty. A relatively small establishment, it gets crowded quickly for a good reason - great selection of whiskey and food. We sat on the bar so was able to watch the bar tenders work their "magic" pouring and mixing various whisky cocktails. Located in the upscale Mosaic District in Fairfax, its a hidden gem. Parking on the street can be a bit tricky as there are many establishments in the area - however, there is a parking structure to the rear of MacMillans. Service can be a bit slow due to the crowd, but it's worth a visit.

Yelp
I come here every six months to meet some friends and catch up. Service is great, food is always good, and you have an infinite choice of beverages. Also, the place is very cozy. Highly recommend, but make sure you drink responsibily. Time and the amount you consume can really get away with you. Place isn't cheap either, but worth it compared to other places I have been recently.

Mary H.

Yelp
We came for lunch. The place was pretty much empty, yet we had to wait to be seated plus they still managed to get my order wrong?!? I ordered steak and got salmon instead. Btw, looked dry. Hamburger-juicy and flavorful. Steak salad-beef was tender and tasty. If this place was empty and we had issues, not sure about them being busy? Maybe we'll just stick with cocktails?

Mychelle H.

Yelp
A friend recommended this place and I had a chance to dine in recently. I made reservations on open table as I wasn't sure how busy they were in the evenings. The few times I've walked by it, I always found that they were always a packed house. On this day, I had already eaten dinner so I was all about the dessert menu. It's beautifully decorated inside. I ended up sitting at a high top and I will say, if you plan to order a lot or are with company it's a little tight space. I ended up deciding to try their bourbon-cinnamon baked apples. I loved that they separated the apples and the ice cream. It made it truly enjoyable instead of feeling rushed. I think I would prefer it with some type of breading on top but overall was a great dessert I would get again.

Tar R.

Yelp
The MacMillan Whisky Room at the Mosaic is a true gem, and my recent visit left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped by the inviting ambiance of a rustic, dark whisky lounge. It's a setting that instantly transports you to a world of warmth and relaxation, making it a place that anyone can enjoy. The service at MacMillan Whisky Room is truly top-notch. The staff is not only attentive but consistently checks in to ensure your drinks keep flowing, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. Speaking of drinks, the cocktails here are expertly crafted. While it might not be a place where they're pushing the boundaries of mixology with avant-garde creations, they stick to what they know and do it exceptionally well, especially with the classics. Each sip is a testament to their commitment to quality. One of the standout features of this establishment is its wide and impressive whisky collection. Whether you're a seasoned whisky connoisseur or just looking to explore, there's something here to pique your interest. MacMillan Whisky Room is the perfect spot for a happy hour with friends or a leisurely catch-up session. The inviting ambiance, great service, well-crafted cocktails, and delicious food make it an all-around fantastic place. It's a destination that effortlessly combines the joys of whisky and camaraderie, and I can't recommend it enough for those looking to unwind and savor a memorable evening.

Yelp
Overall: I tried to make a reservation for a party of one online, but I received a message that my party was too small and to contact the restaurant directly. I decided to try my luck and I went without a reservation. I had brunch on Sunday, MLK weekend at around Noon. The place is small but cute on the inside and it was not crowded at all. Definitely a good place for a date in the AM or PM. Service was speedy and pleasant, and I plan to dine here again in the future for dinner. Food: The menus are on tablets if you sit at the bar. I ordered the French Toast Breakfast with a Grilled Pineapple as my drink. My food came out fast, like within 10 to 15 minutes. The French toast had a sweet apple taste to it which I enjoyed. I chose sausage over bacon, and you get one sausage patty but the whole meal was a hefty portion size and it filled me up. The Grilled Pineapple drink was strong but decent. It tasted like a Patron Margarita to me which I do like but I'll try something sweeter next time. Restrooms: There are two single stall restrooms and the one that I used was clean and spacious surprisingly considering the size of the establishment. There was a baby changing table and lots of bin storage space to place items such as a phone, purse, or diaper bag. I'd say it's big enough to roll a wheelchair into the restroom as well.

Christine R.

Yelp
Way too sweet on the Knob Creek old fashioned - sugar bomb. However amazing vibe & the old Oak Elk was great!

Christina V.

Yelp
Came around 7pm on Saturday. The place is very packed! There was a wait for a table inside, but no wait for outside. There are heaters outside which kept us warm! They have QR codes to view their menu, but I'm sure if you asked they could give you a paper menu. For drinks, went with the virgin mojito and the spiced apple cider. Our food was the Buffalo chicken sliders, French onion soup, and a side salad. The servers were very nice :) food was good too. Really loved the ambience of the restaurant. Definitely a good date spot, I would go on a weekday night so it's less crowded.

John A.

Yelp
I came here for a date night. For those you you who don't have the kids and are looking for an establishment that provides the bang for your buck, and a nice getaway, this is it. The service was absolutely fantastic, our waitress was attentive, kind, and accommodating. The food was top notch, and the drinks were delicious. I like adding price points in my reviews. The price was fair, I see a lot of whiskey/bourbon joints up charging, this place didn't.

Lexie F.

Yelp
The food was good. They don't smoke their whiskey. WEIRD for a whisky bar. And the server was a huge dick. Real rude.

Julie E.

Yelp
Slow service. Lots of things out of stock. Good vibe but the crowd makes it miserable

Irving A.

Yelp
Great place and great food combine with the best drinks, Highly recommended for a happy hour and service is great and fast. The ambiance is relax and welcoming.

Margy C.

Yelp
Our friends suggested this little place of a gem prior to a showing of a movie across the street at the Angelika Film Center. Since I wasn't planning on partaking of the alcohol, I had hoped the food would be good. And boy was I surprised. Who knew a whiskey room could make such great food? We had a party of six and got a table outside. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and their meals. I ordered the sweet bourbon salmon with extra veggies instead of the mash potatoes. The kitchen gave me a good portion of sauted asparagus. I thought it was interesting that the menu actually said the salmon would be cooked at medium. My biggest complaint with salmon is that at many places, they are often too dry. There are a few places that do it right and this place has done it. I loved the sweet bourbon sauce on my salmon. Every bite was just perfect. My partner ordered the fish and chips and thought it was also well done. The batter on this fish was crunchy and tasty. The place is small. There is not much seating inside or out. Reservations are a must. Service was fantastic. Our server came back several times to check on us and to make sure we all had our food and that it was correct. After the movie, when we had to walk by the Whisky Room again, we noticed that the people sitting at our table had a nice fire pit on the table. That was nice since the evening had gotten a lot chillier since we were there a few hours ago.

Singi D.

Yelp
Brunch here was excellent, service was very good, attentive & friendly staff. That beautiful bar will want you to come back again & again. Perfect quiet spot for date night. I'll definitely be back

JC R.

Yelp
Nice lively ambience and checking in was nice as we were accommodated for inside seating (vice reserved outdoor table) and it was a rainy night, so a plus. Waitress was okay at the beginning but we'd to waive more often for service or additional drinks so could improve on service. Bad part was the waitress said she would give us a sip or try the local red wine but without even asking the bartender, I observed her quickly came back and said no! Wow! Another bad part was she said she would come back for our request for ranch dressing but she never came back at all until we flagged her yet again, for the check. Definitely not professional service by our waitress and luckily, another waitress tended part of the time and the latter was definitely better at service and saved them a star. Good thing, the ambience was great as was aesthetics though the hallway leading to the restrooms was a bit cramped and if not careful one would definitely bump someone sitting at the table near that vicinity.

Shayne S.

Yelp
One of the best selections of whiskey in the area. Great service and a homey feel really bad parking though

Tara F.

Yelp
We visited for lunch on a Tuesday and had no problem parking right in front of the place. When we walked in the place was completely empty. I love the feel of the place with the shelves to the ceiling and ladder up the whiskey shelves. Even though we came for lunch they still allowed us to order the scotch eggs from the dinner menu. We also ordered the beef sliders. The food was pricey but all of it tasted amazing! The drinks were ok. I ordered a Moscow mule and it was very strong on the ginger. The person I was with ordered an old fashioned and a sazerac. He wasn't a fan of the sazerac, and hoped for a smoked old fashioned, but said the regular one was ok. Overall, the food was worth it, but expect to spend quite a bit.

Cali W.

Yelp
Amanda, the bartender, exuded genuine warmth and hospitality. She suggested a few drinks for me to sample, and I decided to try their Manhattan not once, but twice because it was absolutely exceptional. I particularly enjoyed the addition of the Luxardo cocktail cherry, which added a delightful touch to the cocktail. I also indulged in their WHISK(E)Y 101 flight, which featured Four Roses Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Templeton Rye, and Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or (subject to availability). It was a delightful experience! I didn't have the opportunity to try their food during my visit. Jessica, the waitress attending to me, made me feel incredibly comfortable, despite being alone and seated at the end of the bar. The ambiance of the place was cozy and inviting, with a dimly lit interior and a charming Western-style decor. Given its limited space and immense popularity, reservations are a must at this establishment.

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
Make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance! Very cozy and limited space but really pulls together the romantic, speakeasy-like vibe. A whiskey library wall sits behind the bar giving a plethora of options for all pallets. Service was a bit slow but the food was rich and flavorful. The braised short rib was very tender but on the saltier side and the carbonara was creamy and just the perfect pasta portion. Our appetizer came out when we were done with our meal and the waitress was very busy and didn't check on us often for us to cancel the order. Overall, a great date night spot but would keep it to a party of 4 max.

Chris G.

Yelp
Old fashions and the selection of bourbon here is incredible. Food options were very tasty and their staff was very friendly. I didn't like their menu being all on a tablet which was confusing and difficult to navigate but as automated as that seemed I still had to order thru a server which was very slow. Atmosphere was very old time bar feel and a great place to take a date or a friend to catch up.

Pedram H.

Yelp
First time here and I definitely liked the experience. I liked the ambiance and the decoration, it gave me the feeling that this place has a character. For drinks, we tried old fashioned, penicillin, and French 75. I liked the old fashioned for sure and that was what I expected from an old fashioned. For the penicillin I was just a little bit disappointed since it tasted just a bit watery to me (that's the only reason I'm not giving the five star this time). For the appetizer, we tried the boom boom cauliflower and the smoked Gouda sliders, I liked them both, maybe the sliders even a bit more. Overall I had a great night here, friendly people, and I'll definitely go back.

Ebony W.

Yelp
I took my Whiskey loving friend here, and he loved it. The food is decent, and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm hanging out with Harry Potter and the crew. I love the aesthetics.

Clarence B.

Yelp
They seemed uninterested in having my wife and I on a Saturday afternoon. Seating required extra questions, ordering was challenge. So we left before we ordered .

Marcus D.

Yelp
Nice little clubby place, not a lot of seating so consider making reservations for your seating. I did, showed up on time along with a friend and the person that sat us said "you can sit here but need to leave by 8:30" just as we were seated. No drinks or food ordered yet. One ounce pours aren't crazy prices but kind of expected a bourbon list more diverse with less commonly seen bottles. Was thinking this was a smaller Jack Rose. In the end had their barrel flight, four high proof one ounce pours for $25 and it was very good. The small plates we had were also good. The staff outside of the young lady that seated us were super.

Kay R.

Yelp
Great ambiance, pretty good food options for a whiskey bar. I particularly like the chips and the different sauces. I think it was a trio. I also had steak frites. While there might as well pick a flight!

Klara C.

Yelp
We came here when they just opened and I did absolutely love it but had to wait a long time for their mulled wine to heat up. It's in the Mosaic district so some parking garages and street parking around. We sat at the bar and they had their menu on iPads which was cool. When it was served, it wasn't quite hot enough but the flavor was absolutely delicious. There was a slight mix up with our tater tots where two orders ended up being put in but we got the loaded with beer cheese and bacon. Tots were really good, super crispy and the beer cheese and bacon had a great flavor. After the mulled wine, I ordered a Mexican coffee which was very strong but still good. I probably should have mixed it a little better. My friend ordered an old fashioned and an International Whisky 101 flight: Masterson's 10 Year Canadian Whisky - pretty smooth and easy to sip. Nikka Japanese Coffee Grain Whisky - loved this one and probably my favorite out of the 3. You can definitely get the coffee notes out of it. Amrut Fusion Indian Single Malt - this was very very smoky in both the taste and the smell. This is something that I would likely have to pair with food and maybe with a cigar. Small interior and some exterior sitting. It's a really cool place and the staff was really friendly. I definitely want to go back!

Yelp
We used to go here a lot but this happened to my boyfriend in 2021. I think the owners response says everything you need to know about this business.

Yelp
Do you like whiskey? If so, you need to go to MacMillan Whisky Room. My husband and I visited Macmillan's a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night, with a reservation. I highly recommend a reservation because the space is fairly small and the business is obviously popular in the already popular Mosaic District. They also do not allow for standing at the bar, which I get because of the overall small size of the restaurant. I witnessed a couple stand outside for 20-ish minutes because they did not have a reservation and the bar only had one seat available. They left and 5 minutes or so later another couple showed up also without a reservation, but got lucky because a gentleman was just leaving the bar area and happened to be seated next to the one empty seat. It is that much of the luck of the draw; so do yourself a favor and make a reservation. That being said, we had an awesome evening of food and whiskey sampling. The Scotch Eggs are worth the hype. The Boom Boom cauliflower was also good. For entrees we tried the Irish stew and the steak frites. Both were delicious. We sampled several different whiskeys to include the Blackened Van Henderson. They also offer whiskey flights. We definitely plan to go back. Thanks for an awesome evening! :-)
