"This bright, colourful bistro is known by food-lovers across the country, and it certainly deserves its reputation. It’s family-owned and professionally run by a friendly team, and the menu is an appealing mix of colourful Hungarian and Mediterranean dishes. Classic flavours are in abundance but the presentation is decidedly modern; the beef cheek goulash is not to be missed." - Michelin Inspector

It was nothing out of the ordinary. Food was carefully prepared (please note that waiting times are very long), ingredients were fresh. Starters and main courses were tasty. First and foremost, starters are worth looking out and trying. However, the atmosphere and service were very average for such a place. No pro-activity from the waiter. Tip 12% included in the bill for just taking orders and bringing food.

This was my favourite restaurant in a two week trip to Hungary. I went here each night that I stayed in Eger. The food was delicious, the waiters were so friendly and knowledgeable, and for the quality the prices felt reasonable. Definite 5 stars!

The food was good, but the experience is overrated. The fish was delicious, but the rest was just tasty, nothing to write home about. They have warnings in the menu that the service is slow because all of the food is made fresh, but it was extremely slow for us (people that came after us got their meals before we did etc).

Very pittoresque place at the entrance of the castle of Eger. The restaurant is an absolute recommendation. Service staff is incredible friendly and well educated. The compositions of the dishes are fantastic made with a lot of passion and fantasy. The is a unique experience. Not to forget the gorgeous taste of the dishes we tried. Reservation is recommended. The terrace outside is very romantic but also the covered terrace inside is nice as well as the indoor places. The serve very selected wines as well. What a fantastic experience.

Great place near the main tourist attractions, where taste comes along with a price. Delicious duck breast with surprising sides like fried duck paté in panko. Recipe and plating are perfection to the finest detail. Beef cheeks were also very good, but quite monotonous. For the dessert the Rákóczi cheesecake is a must, with ice cream and crumble. Savory dessert lovers can choose the cheese board in company of honey and phenomenal apricot jam. There is also a wide variety of local wines to choose from. Well deserved Michelin recommendation.

best absolute best meal in eger. tucked a little ways from the main square on a quaint little hill. went for a late lunch in mid october, not crowded at all we simply walked in without reservation. slightly pricey, but not astronomical - perfectly worthwhile once you’ve tried their food! the tastes of each dish were so well thought-out. we had the wild boar soup, the duck liver brulee, and the egri bikaver beef cheek & a glass of Sky from Kovacs Nimrod each. all incredible!! beautiful ambience too. we so wanted to come back for more. definitely not to be missed!

We recently dined at this Michelin-guided restaurant and had a generally good experience. The food was quite good, and I wasn't disappointed. The waiters were helpful and attentive. The only downside was dealing with mosquitoes and flies since we were seated outside. Additionally, inside the restaurant, there was no air conditioning, or it wasn't turned on during our visit, and it was 30 degrees Celsius. Despite these issues, the overall experience was pleasant.

It is worth visiting! Very tasty food - food quality is incredible. Special ads for the beef soup. - prices are ok for a place like this one. They are Michelin recognised, presentation is beautiful and sizes are ok - suitable for a first date. - toilets available - public parking only.
