Great place to hang out and catch up! Indoor and out door seating! I love the tasteful decorations inside. All very on theme and cohesive. Come on Sunday morning for the farmers market right next door! So many pastry options and drinks. Lots of gifts to purchase as souvenirs too. Water is your choice of still or sparkling. Bus yourself! This is gonna be my go to pastry breakfast spot on Sundays!

Despite several other recent new bakeries on Mercer Island, Macrina seems to be the place everyone has been waiting for and it’s been busy the few times I’ve been there. I love the outside tables, not loving the inside as much although it’s spacious and nice. Vast selection, good service. My breakfast BLT was delicious.

Great ambience, love the new addition to Mercer island. I love the marionberry biscuits, it didn’t look as good as I removed them but I could not resist getting one. It tasted stale and not fresh:( it was close to end of days t 530 but if you’re going to charge over $6 for something, it should taste good. Disappointed.

Food is good, but you can not modify or substitute anything (I was told everything comes to them pre-made). Service was fast, prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was great! Overall looking forward to coming back.

Google
Great place to meet on Mercer Island. Plenty of parking and seating space, good variety of pastries, sweets, and lunchtime sandwiches.

Macrina makes the best pastries in town, as all the locals know. The food is amazing here, great atmosphere, ample parking, easy walk up. I love this place. You don't have to drive into town to experience great pastries. The prices are not too bad. Kid friendly. Theres a nice park across the street which is Mercerdale Park.

As many have said, once the dining room is full, the noise is shockingly loud. Wow, unpleasant! The food is decent, which is a God send on MI. The menu offerings are pretty limited and I suspect most everything is brought in from Seattle and not made from scratch there. I got a "carne" sandwich, which is actually chicken. Good, but overpriced. I grabbed to go a premade "carne" salad, which is described as marinated steak, but was actually more chicken. Either these guys are anti carne, or really pro chicken, not sure. The salad was good quality and was reasonably priced relative to what stuff costs these days, but the "carne" chicken was extremely modestly portioned. All and all, a decent addition for MI, good quality, meh value, great helpful cheerful staff, but assaultive accustics if you eat there

Coffee, ok-ish. Not great. Sourdough bread, good. Would go for atmosphere but not for coffee.

Come on Sunday morning for the farmers market right next door! So many pastry options and drinks. Lots of gifts to purchase as souvenirs too. Water is your choice of still or sparkling. Bus yourself! Drinks get called up. We made a mistake and forgot about the drink to go grab it and we sat outside so we didn't hear the name or number called. They made us a new one... This is gonna be my go to pastry breakfast spot on Sundays!

Yelp
Macrina's reputation for quality is what brought me in, and I expected the Mercer Island location to reflect that. Instead, the meal felt unexpectedly off. The $12 plant-based sandwich tasted fine, but the flavors were dominated by a sourness that overshadowed everything else. The portion was small, and the overall balance just wasn't there. The avocado toast had that same sour edge, which made both items feel oddly one-note rather than fresh or vibrant. I left feeling more disappointed than anything else. Macrina can absolutely do better, and I hope this location rises to the standard the brand is known for.

Yelp
nice people nice decor infuriating process. -- wait in line to order --wait (separately) to pay --wait for your order. all in separate stations.

Yelp
Nice popular upscale bakery on Mercer Island offering fresh breads, croissants, and tarts. Croissants were fresh, flaky and very tasty. The bakery also offer savory bagels, muffins and scones. This Saturday morning was very busy; many people were having coffee and their specialty sandwiches there.

Yelp
I stopped in the afternoon on a weekday to avoid the rush and crowds that I typically see when driving by. There was plenty of seating and only 2 groups in line. There were also plenty of pastries left. The new bakery space is lovely with plenty of indoor seating and patio seating too. They have a full coffee bar and full menu including sandwiches and food in addition to their pastries. We ordered their famous cinnamon roll and the apple turnover and both were great! They tasted fresh and had good flavor without being overly sweet (though that is relative). The service was medium paced, but it is to be expected on a weekday afternoon. The servers were friendly and working hard. The price was standard pastry prices aboud 5-8$ per pastry. The location is convenient and there is decent parking though it can get crowded as it is a shared parking lot.

Yelp
So happy to have another bakery opening on the island. I have come here a couple of times now with the first one during opening week. I have always love the brioche loaf in the stores so when it opened I was happy to see all the other baked goods. The store is very cute and staffs are very nice. However it is not unkept very well as I have to buss the table for the last two times. I'm hoping there will be more signs so people will clean their own table after using it? The food, it's a mix, I had good experience from the first time and the cheesecake was very yummy, the croissant was decent. This time the quiche was definitely overcooked and the cookies were disappointing. My chai latte was ok. I think I'll just come back for baked goods I like instead of trying new things.

Yelp
New bakery on Mercer Island! Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. There is a a parking lot but with the Sunday market nearby the lot can get pretty chaotic. The decor inside is gorgeous - very modern vibes. We got their coffee, chicken pesto sandwich, and raspberry croissant. Food tasted good but nothing mind blowing. This bakery is definitely on the more expensive end. Service was super quick - make sure to double check your order when you checkout. Overall good spot if you're looking for a place to work or study or have quick lunch.

Yelp
So happy to have Macrina Bakery on the Eastside. Stopped by on a Monday & no wait. Delicious & tempting pastries were on display. We tried almond pinwheel ( I like this better than almond croissants), apple turnover (huge!), and a chocolate peanut butter cookie (wow). Everything was good, free sparkling water is a nice bonus too. Plenty of seating. I left my baguette behind on the counter....ugh..otherwise, a great visit! Same parking lot as Pagliacci pizza. Check it out on Mercer Island! I'll be back soon for more pastries & coffee.

Yelp
Finally a great bakery, cafe and coffee shop on MI! Swing by on opening day and grabbed some pastries and their awesome granola but wished I could've gotten more, which means I'll definitely need to go back again very soon. The bread selections are top notch and the baked items are all worth a try.

Yelp
Oh Boy eastside we are so lucky to have a Macrina Bakery now on Mercer Island. This location opened on 7/5/2025 and it is a beautiful location. Service was fast and friendly and there is lots of places to sit both inside and outside. Just like other locations, there are lots of goodies and sandwiches for all and the coffee is amazing and served in-house in ceramic cups. One of my true favorite things at all of these locations is the option for sparling water as well as still. If you choose to go on Sunday's go early as the Mercer Island Farmer's market is right next door and it can get busy. Love Macrina's and the new location is awesome.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Macrina is a nice-looking café and the baked goods are good, but the prices are extremely high and the service is slow. The ordering system makes no sense: instead of ordering at a counter, someone with an iPad takes your order and then walks you to the register to pay. This creates unnecessary bottlenecks and long waits even when the café is almost empty. I've waited around ten minutes for an eight-dollar iced coffee with no line ahead of me. The experience doesn't match the price point, and the delays make it hard to justify coming back.

Yelp
This is definitely going to be one of my go-to bakery/breakfast spots! The line was out the door when we first got there, but it moved at a decent pace and also gave us time to figure out what we wanted to get once we were able to peruse their pastry case. Everything was so good, but personal faves from everything we got were the Buttermilk Biscuit and Sausage Breakfast Biscuit!

Yelp
The Mercer Island store falls short of the SODO location. The sandwiches are mostly bread, the coffee was weak (a real shock), but the bakery items are ok. It's very popular, and the all the hard surfaces make it hard place to hold a conversation even at a small table..

Deborah B.

Yelp
Edit: The parking lot stalls in front of the restaurant are repaved now! It was exciting to have a bakery with coffee in this location. They seem to offer a wide variety of sandwiches, baked goods and coffee. The store is decorated very nice. I've had several coffees and a matcha. None of them have been very good. Staff is "interesting"... Also because of this restaurant opening here, parking lot is atrocious and the likelihood of getting hit or a fender bender is high. It was bad before..Not the restaurants fault, but the landlord for not taking into consideration the parking lot and repainting the stalls to accommodate the flow.

Yelp
Good food and drinks. Nice ambience. Few servers need to improve customer service skills.

Yelp
So great to have a Macrina on the island. After a few opening week glitches, they've settled in to their system. Great baked stuff, coffee, service, etc. And the location is fun, especially on sunday when the MI farmer's market is hopping.

Yelp
3.55 for a ginger molasses cookie. We came later but they don't have a discount for cookies 30 minutes before closing.

Yelp
With the demise of Tully's and the decline in popular culture of Starbucks, it is wonderful to have Macrina on the Island with it's excellent bakery and perfect coffee (not SBs bitter brew), comfortable seating , parking, and non-grocery outlet atmosphere, it is my favorite. I can almost close my eyes and feel that I am back at Mama's Deli.

Yelp
I was NOT impressed with this place. The croissant and the scone were both dry and hard, and the garlic cheesy loaf turned moldy within 48 hours.

Pedro G.

Yelp
Delicious, but the portion sizes are ridiculous and unhealthy! I want a quaint European cafe experience, not American overeating and sugar overdose. +1 star gratitude for bringing the food to our table (when other places ask for a 20% tip while expecting you to place your own order and bus your own table). Macrina has potential but will need some changes to compete with La Fete and L'Experience on Mercer Island.

Vincent A.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Very nice and tasty bakery treats. I would get the cinnamon rolls every time.

Yelp
I am happy that Macrina's is on the Island. I visited today for the first time. I realize that they are busy, however, they delivered my first sandwich (Breakfast BLT) and I had to wait another 12 minutes for my Cate sandwich. I ordered to go and both to go boxes have grease marks on the to-go boxes. I communicated with them twice to check on my second sandwich. I think they need to communicate better with the customer and complete the food orders together.

Valerie A.

Yelp
I loved this spot! They had great pastries, a lot of seating, and open later than most things on the island! Would totally reccomend
