Macri's was one of my favorite lunch spots while I was working downtown South Bend. Due to relocating to a new office, I don't eat there as much as I used to; however, I still stop in every once in a while, on my way home. Over the last 10 years, I've had a pleasant experience and was always greeted with a smile by the owner when he's there. When I'm picking up food on my way home, I call my order in and ask that they wait 15 minutes before starting due to working in Mishawaka. Today I called with the same request. I get there and my mozzarella sticks were already sitting there waiting to be picked up. I checked them to see if they were hot. They weren't. I informed the young lady my food isn't hot. She turns to the workers and says can you remake these. She didn't want her food to be ready when she got here. I said no, I want my food hot. I pay for my order and wait for them to be re-made. The young lady comes back and the owner, whom I always found to be pleasant (and I was smiling at him thinking I was going to have another pleasant exchange with him as usual), was in front of her. He gave me a nasty look. The young lady says next time wait until you get here to order. I said I asked that they wait 15 minutes to start the order. Before I could finish my sentence, the owner starts yelling at me wait until you get here to order, pointing down on the counter with force with his finger as he's speaking to me. I was taken back. I said you have never been mean to me. He says, I am today. The young lady said, I told him what happened. I responded maybe you shouldn't offer call ins if you cannot fulfill the orders properly. She attempted to go back and forth with me. I told her to have a good day, and I left. My feelings were hurt. I have patronized this business for years. When Dainty Maids closed, I started ordering my anniversary cakes from here. Needless to say, I will not return. The treatment I received today was rude and disrespectful for no reason.
