Carmella is truly incredible, and we couldn’t have asked for a better baker for our wedding. She created the most amazing cake—four tiers with alternating white and black cake, filled with raspberry and cannoli cream—and it tasted just as incredible as it looked. In addition to the cake, she also made an entire spread of cookies, cannoli, and other sweets for our dessert table, which our guests absolutely loved. Everything was beautifully crafted and delicious, and we received so many compliments on the variety and quality of the desserts. The design of the cake itself was stunning. Every detail was beautifully done by hand, with fresh flowers intertwined throughout the tiers, perfectly complementing our wedding aesthetic. It was elegant, timeless, and truly a work of art. Carmella went above and beyond for us in every way. She graciously accommodated us with two separate tastings since we were living out of town, making the entire process so easy and stress-free. And when she learned that my husband and I didn’t even get a chance to eat our own cake on our wedding day, she surprised us two weeks later with an extra cake as a gift—an act of kindness we will never forget. Beyond her incredible talent, Carmella truly feels like family. We couldn’t recommend her more highly. If you’re looking for someone who delivers breathtaking desserts with heart, care, and generosity, Carmella is it.

We cannot thank Carmela enough for the incredible work she did for our wedding. She created a custom cake inspired by my grandparents’ exact wedding cake, which was a lifelong dream of mine and such a meaningful way to honor them. She recreated the design perfectly and every detail was spot on and absolutely beautiful. We received countless compliments from our guests at the wedding, as well as from friends online, on how stunning the cake was. In addition to the cake, Carmela also made all of our wedding desserts. We worked with Carmela at Macri's Italian Bakery for our wedding cake and desserts and were so pleased with our experience. We live in the West Suburbs of Chicago and were looking for an authentic Italian bakery to cater the desserts for our wedding in Berrien Springs, MI. We were so excited when we came across Macri's! We visited in person multiple times and had WAY to much fun tasting everything. The cake turned out exactly how I envisioned and was a stunning centerpiece. And my Sicilian family approved of the cannolis on the wedding day, which says a lot! We were so happy to see everything get eaten up so quickly on the dessert display table (and were happy to have a few leftovers at the end of the night to enjoy!). I stopped into this restaurant for a quick date with my wife and was greatly impressed with the food and service and timeliness of everything. My wife and I have been to Carmela's before, which is a sit-down restaurant in the same building. We have always liked that, but always walked through this restaurant to get to it and have been curious about this place for awhile. We will definitely come here again. We got a Margherita pizza and garlic bread. We will have to try their fresh made pasta at some point. Can't wait to come back!

I hope the owner is reading this. I came here before, to Macris and Carmela's and we enjoy the food. The thing I hope you guys change is your food contamination. This is 2025 and we live in a society where LOT of people have allergies. We got some gelato and sorbet but when we said my boyfriend has a nut allergy, she said she can't promise any thing won't be contained. She did clean the spoon off and there was no problem with the sorbet but we didn't not take a chance with the gelato. Also how the spoon was in the nasty water was not safe even if he didn't have a nut allergy. I really think you should be more open to having option for people with allergies. You can just have all the nut gelatos on one side of the freezer and then all the non nut stuff on the other with separate utensils.

I’ve always enjoyed Macris Bakery and how friendly their team is. Today they helped my youngest by handing him a small treat so I could finish my order in peace! Also, their chicken bruschetta pizza is the best pizza in town.

The best Paczkis in my opinion! A bakery that has something for just about everyone. Even has Italian food like pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.

DELICIOUS! I’ve never had European pastries so when i heard this was the go-to place for pączki, i had to try it. the best dessert ive ever had. 100/10 the parking situation is abysmal so if you can walk there maybe from the park, then do so.

We were looking for a restaurant that served pasta and we found this place. It was a quaint, smaller Italian restaurant. We were able to seat ourselves and when we came to the table it needed to be wiped off. Our waitress came over and apologized for it being unclean. She wiped it off, took our drink orders and gave us the menus. We had an attentive server who was working hard to serve more than just our table. We ordered our pasta dinners which came with a side salad and homemade breadsticks. The breadsticks came with a side of marinara. They were soft, warm and delicious. Our pasta dinners were delightful and served very hot. We were so full after our dinner. It was a delightful place, good staff, and great food.

We ordered a pizza and a bowl of soup.... The pizza crust was great.... Lack of toppings on their sausage, onion, pesto and Fennel ( no fennel was put on our pizza) would make me never order this pizza again..... onions... ummm little bits of red onion.... Sausage.... If there were two smears of sausage on the slice I grabbed I felt like I have the good slice..... the pesto took over the entire pizza.... The red pepper and Gouda soup was lackluster.... Almost like eating a bitter tomato soup... no debth to the product whatsoever.... One flavor and one flavor only.... Let's talk about the busboy... grabbing the disposable 1 ounce Parmesan cheese container that I used off my table.... And refilling it and putting it back in the bin at the counter for someone else to use..... listen the counter girl watched this take place.... No one stopped him.... These are disposable container YUCK. Having to tip the guy who made my meal is not ok either... no waitress no waiter no table service and I'm asked for a tip on your computer screen.... NO

Wonderful pastry case full of tasty options. Tiramisu was outstanding, Italian wedding cookies, same. The cheesecake was light and super yummy. Thankfully, the very generous staff helped me select, there were too many choices for one trip. Obviously, we will have to return soon.

The best gluten free pasta, and I believe all the sauces are gluten free as well. Would definitely recommend this place.

My go to place for imported mortadella and fresh Italian bread. So many options for baked goods. The tiramisu is fire! Staff are always helpful and willing to answer questions. They also serve lunch. The pizza and order it your way pasta.

We stopped by Macri's for a quick dessert to-go while visiting Notre Dame on a road trip. Picked up Amaretti cookies, a cannoli, and coconut macaroons everything was delicious!

My husband is a connoisseur of Italian delis. This one ended his search to find the perfect mixture of baked goods, homemade fresh pasta and wood fired pizza. The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful, not overbearing and incredibly hospitable. They do not sacrifice quality for price and the costs are reasonable. There are huge portions - the pasta could easily feed two people for $13. We tried about 10 of the cookies and baked goods, fresh mafaldine with vodka sauce, excellent bolognese and fresh mozzarella, pizza, olives, and mozzarella sticks. Food prep was super fast and you could easily come in for a quick amazing lunch if you work nearby. Absolutely 10/10 will recommend to everyone

When your hometown bakery is THE dream about bakery. So much so that you casually request your mom to bring you a cake when she's coming down to visit. Cake for cakes sake. You don't need a reason to celebrate! Just out here living. This cake! It's all about the buttercream that melts in your mouth. It's not sugary or grainy. It's actual frosting perfection. The cake is moist and look at those layers! They don't usually have cakes just laying around for good reason ;) all the puns. You must call to order if you want one of these gems! They also have a raspberry filling options. Maybe others. I'm unsure because I'm a Macri cake puritan. Cake not your thing? Unclear how that is possible but the bakery is loaded up with all kinds of Italian goodies from cannoli, lobster rolls, cheesecake, and cookies. There is something for everyone! They are currently under construction (may be finished now!) but make it a point to stop in when you're in South Bend!

Great food and service. I always go for the cheesecake and I always find something new to try. Their desserts are not overly sweet which I appreciate. The flavors are amazing. The kids love the cannoli's. I just need to try their restaurant side. It's bright and clean.

Macri's feels like I dreamed it up. I was looking for an Italian bakery to be able to pick up some desserts for an anniversary celebration and what we found was much more. The gelato is lovely and is a larger portion than you would expect. The pasta is made on site and sits in romantic bundles everywhere. The wine selection is a beautiful range of low to high- with a tower of basketed Chianti in the middle of that nook. The service was friendly and not saccharine. Authentically great. Will come back here many, many times.

I'm only in South Bend on occasion, but when I am, I always go to Macri's for lunch. And I always wish I could eat everything on the menu. They have probably the best pizza crust I've ever tasted. Fast service and an utterly amazing Italian grocery and bakery with hard to find ingredients and all those delicious pastries.

How can you resist?! Just enjoyed their Margherita pizza. Wonderful! Also brought home a couple of cherry turnovers and cream horns. Love their cream...not too rich. Perfect.

Lived in the area all my life and I can't believe I never knew about this place! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. I told them it was my first time there and they gave me recommendations and answered all my questions. The cake slice I got was excellent. Moist, flavorful, and at a decent price. I'll have to come back and try the fresh pasta which looked and smelled good too! This would also be a cute place to work during the day. Lots of seating, very clean, and cozy atmosphere.

What a great bakery!!!!!!! The cake we got from here for my Granddaughters first Birthday was beautiful. It looked too good to eat. Not only did it look great it tasted fantastic. I wish I got a full photo of the cake , but by the time I found my phone , this piece was left. Artistic ability at this bakery puts it levels above many bakeries I have been too. Old fashioned Italian bakery. Give it a try Yelpers and you will Yelp about it too.

You order and pay for your food at a computer screen, they yell out your name and you go up and get your food, you get your own drinks and plastic cutlery, you clear your own table, and they AUTOMATICALLY charge you a 15% tip! What??!! What's the tip for? There's more service at McDonald's. At least they hand you your drink. Food was average.

This is one of my favorite places of all time. They have the best cookies. My favorite is the chocolate lady finger cookie. All of their cookies, cupcakes, and cakes are amazing. They do themed cakes like a Yule Log for Christmas or lamb cake for Easter, which can be a great holiday tradition! I can attest to the lamb cake being delicious. Their deli foods are great too. This time I got a delicious panini, but their made to order pizzas are also very good. Highly recommend getting a full meal here-- panini or pizza, drink, and dessert! They also have a selection of good quality Italian dry goods like pastas, coffee, olive oil, crackers, packaged cookies, drinks, and wine.

The almond cake and tiramisu were really good. The cannoli was good but they should be fresh-filled to order, not left in the case to get soggy. It is lazy and unacceptable. A good bakery always fresh-fills. Cupcakes not so good. The donuts were dense, more like paczki. The fillings were ok. Staff was friendly.

This is the "go to" place for our family pastries at holidays, cakes to celebrate, Christmas cookies, and their wood fired oven pizza. Tip: order the pizza crispy. It's the closest thing I've tasted outside of Napoli with the delicious char on the crust.

This is my second review of Macris, which is becoming a go-to for me for treats for the family (and me!) I decided to try lunch today, and was not disappointed! I ordered a turkey and bacon panini. The counter girl suggested this sandwich. It was made quickly by the staff, I love that the kitchen is open concept so that you can watch! This sandwich came hot and toasty with a pickle on the side. The cheese was melty and delicious, and the meats were clearly higher quality. I am pretty critical of quality products when eating out and Macri's understood the assignment The turkey was fresh and tender and the bacon was perfect. The bread was buttery and toasty perfect. I will be back again and again, thank you macris

So delicious. Got a variety of cookies and loved every single one! Can't wait to go back! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It is a must every time I'm in town.

I love coming by their bakery every time I'm in SB. High quality bakery and always excellent service.

Came in at 4pm and ordered Chicken Alfredo from kiosk. Alfredo sauce watered down. No silverware for dine in customers. Plastic fork is not ideal for long heavy Alfredo noodles. They did have nice music playing in the dining room.

Great cakes, professional service, nice and quiet place, as a business I would like to see more variety options of whole cakes to buy at same day. I only found 3 flavors.

Got a pizza, it was really good but not very flavorful, almost but not quite. The desserts are awesome and the selection is pretty impressive. Super nice people, very clean, family friendly.

Such a cute and delicious bakery! The chocolate covered cannoli was the best I've had. The shell was delicious and was kind of like caramel. The cream wasn't too sweet. We also got the tiramisu which was soft and had a really nice flavor. The raspberry cake was also yummy but I thought the buttercream was a bit thick I guess and. The cream puff was also good but a bit sweet. Overall highly recommend!

Good place for a quick lunch if you are downtown. Good selection of sandwiches and simple pastas if you are pressed for time. And the bakery selections are amazing.

With all the great reviews I was expecting phenomenal baked goods and pastries, but I am a little disappointed. We got a M&M cookie, chocolate cannoli, and a torta della nonna. The M&M cookie was crumbly and somewhat flavorless, the cannoli filling was great but the pastry part left me wanting more. With the Torta Della Nonna, the custard was good, but the pastry just tasted like flour. I would still like the try the tiramisu. They do offer multiple varieties of wine and olive oil which was nice and it is cute inside, however I still left feeling underwhelmed.

Hey Sugar Sugar! Wow... quick service and set me up to be rockstar!! Sweet! Got a couple dozen pastries for a meet up and man! They were the star. See the pics. Eclairs we're great, tiramisu on point, really everything was sweet, tasty and was a sizable serving. But the cannoli was worth the calories, right Prue? Wow.. it was a stroll down tastebud lane and all the treats were invited! Cost... well for 21 desserts it was $77. So less than $4 each. Not bad. Not sure if any discounts for more. Service was great. Claire? Helped me and she was sweet, efficient and answered questions and gave great recommendations. I waited for a sandwich and though it was busy it only took 5 min to make a panini and the guy making it was cool and courteous. For sure I'm coming back. Now I want to try some Italian dinner. This place is so good that I will be making the two and a half hour trip at least every other month for their food. The baked goods, the pasta, the pizza. It's all worth the drive.

INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE! Perfect for a quick lunch or an early dinner to catch up with old friends on their patio!! There is not a bad item on the menu! Every order came out super quick and was absolutely delectable! Pizzas, paninis, and the desserts.. don't even get me started!! Would absolutely recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone!! A must try!

Fresh pasta was fantastic. Be ready for a big crowd if you go during lunch or right after work. But worth it!

I came in from out of town to order my grandmas 104th birthday cake. I spoke with the woman behind the counter and she was be very friendly and made the process to order so easy. My grandma and all of our family LOVED the cake - it was not too sweet and had people going for seconds. The decor on the cake exceeded my expectations and it served our group of 25 with a bit leftover. Thank you, Macri's, for a delicious, beautiful cake and for helping make my grandmas 104th birthday so special.

Absolutely in love with this place--I never thought I'd see a real Italian deli like this outside New York, but Macri's is the real deal. I came to get some lunch before my flight out of town and was impressed by the food and the service. Unfortunately I couldn't take any of the scrumptious-looking cakes with me on the plane, but I settled for a turkey panini half the size of my head and some Italian butter cookies. Absolute heaven!

I went to Macris Deli and bakery this morning. I bought 2 lbs. of imported mortadella. The price was $8.99 a pound. The lady sliced it perfectly thin for me.. I am so glad the renovation is done and I can buy my meat there. About a month ago I went to Oh Mamas. The girl who sliced my meat there weighed it then wrapped it in heavy paper then weighed it again and put the sticker on the package. I had to tell her to unwrap the package, remove the meat and just weigh the meat. . I was also disappointed as it was $14.99 a pound. I'm not really sure why they charge six more dollars a pound more than Macris. If you get the chance go into Macris. You will be very happy with their new deli and bakery. This bakery really made my day. I FINALLY found a bakery that bakes excellent cookies, especially PEANUT BUTTER cookies. I simply cannot wait to return to buy a bigger supply of cookies. I must try the food in the deli as well. Thank you so much!!!!

Best, best pizza for lunch!!! Crust is amazing and cooked perfectly!!! But packaged salad dressing?? Doesn't fit with the authenticity of your restaurant.

Tried this for the first time for lunch on Tuesday have been wanting to go to the bakery for lunch. We decided to get the spinach linguine add chicken and we bought the Italian Caprice sandwich Panini. Very happy with the fresh pasta choice extremely hot when it came to the table however, no chicken was added and you do have to pay an extra three dollars for that. I would give it four out of 10 very little ingredients inside the Panini and was very bland and got one fountain drink lunch for those three items cost us $35. We have no problem with the price, but the food has to stands up to the price and quality however it was a little disappointing. Then, after that we visited the bakery my husband got too large shortbread cookies with icing on top and I got a half a pound of Italian cookies, little expensive but the cookies were worth it.

You should try their baked goods. Far above others. Not to forget to mention try their pizza and lunch menu.

I ordered a penne vodka (fresh pasta) and it was delicious. I also bought some desserts which my son enjoyed eating for his breakfast. Will recommend this place to anyone from out of town.

With the new remodel we have been waiting to try the new and improved Macri's. Food amazing, ambiance great, service better, sadly though we had to given them a few less stars. They do not have a changing station in any of there bathrooms in both Macri's and in Carmela's. No high chairs in site in the main bakery/cafe area. And the staff seemed saddened when I asked if there was any changing stations inside anywhere. I really love this place, we are big foodies. But sadly we may not return as much as we wanted since we have a young toddler with us.

Their food isn't too bad they're kind of pushy there too though anything else you need anything else is there anything else I feel like why do people keep on asking You is there anything else if there was anything else? I will let you know when I'm done I'll let you know. Stop asking people is there anything else? It's really starting to get on my damn nerves Thank you for your response. I just think that you need to leave it up to the customer and they'll let you know when they're finished ordering because they might want to try everything but the girl that was waiting on me kept saying is there anything else you need anything else? I will tell you when I'm done it's just aggravating to me.

We had a simple late lunch of cheese gnocchi and pasta with squid ink. The sister-in-law ordered a San Francisco -- a panini-style sandwich with roasted red peppers, roasted chicken, balsamic-infused mayonnaise, avocado, and (what looked like) escarole. (She loved every bite.) The hubby ordered some god awful (read: decadent and tempting) Italian pastry for dessert -- a wicked looking thing that looked certain to induce a deep and restful diabetic coma at some point later in the day.
