Great food, very attentive waitress, and showing up without a reservation at prime time only had about a 10 min wait. Will definitely be back. Came with free bread and sauce. And also ordered the carrot cake. Very moist and smooth cream cheese frosting.

What a great experience! Nice people, great food. We “ended up” here because two of the Italian restaurants we were going to try were closed. “Third time’s a charm” is right! The staff are so friendly - we felt like family! So glad we found Macri’s! The next time we’re in town (from Colorado), we’ll be back!

I felt at home here. The gentleman that helped us to our table clearly enjoyed his job and our waitress was really kind. The food was definitely worth the very short wait. Both my fiance and I opted for salads and those were really standard, but everything else was fantastic. The bread sticks, fried ravioli, and both our dishes were well cooked, not overdone and very flavourful. All the food is reasonably priced and the selection head something for everyone. The atmosphere was pleasant and not to noisy. Definitely will be coming back again.

Our waitress was nice and refilled my son's drink when was empty. We went around 4pm so wasn't busy but food was cooked to order and was hot whsn arrived at table. On Thursday evening they have polish dinner. It was good except for the Sausage had no casing on it so felt like mush when bit into it. The decore was beautiful with many pictures to look at and had a few TV's on around the area. Polish dinner was priced well for what you get. Waitress kept coming back to check on us but when left the bill to pay she put two fountain drinks when we only had one and one water. She took it back and took the extra drink off. Look over your bill to make sure not over charged. Over all a great experience.

Wonderful small restaurant with great food and service. The salad bar was very good and well kept. One of the few places that has sugar free and caffeine free drinks.

Horrible experience! Went for lunch today. The restaurant was moderately busy. We were seated, other families came in after us. Not one staff member acknowledged us, no menus, no drink order. People were waited on who came in after us. After 20 mins we walked out, not one person said anything. We will not return!

Delicious!! Pizza, French dip, sausage tortellini, bread sticks for $60. Really good food for a great value. Food was done quickly as well. Can't wait to come back for more! This restaurant is only 5 minutes from our airbnb!

Great atmosphere in this small family restaurant. The service here is excellent and the staff works together well. I had the chicken marsala with fettuccine. It was piping hot and perfectly seasoned with fresh and delicious ingredients. The unlimited bread served with whipped butter is delicious with a garlic flavor and a nice crunch and soft interior. Highly recommend!

Very nice Italian restaurant. I had their Veal Parm. my wife had their Lasagna. Both entrees hit the mark with flavor and amount of food delivered. Our waitress was very attentive and the restaurant's ambience is spectacular. We came on a Thursday and they had a buffet and salad bar. So if you're hungry for Italian food make a stop here you will not be disappointed.

It is a good/decent Italian restaurant looked like run by family. The Food choices are good including for Kids. Side pasta was enough for one of our kids. We enjoyed Spinach Lasagna and pasta primavera - it was excellent. The service was prompt. Additionally it is super pricey either and quite affordable sit in restaurants in South Bend.

We've only had their pastries but got pizza this time. Very good stuff! Will absolutely order this again.

I don't think I see a lot of buffet offering from an Italian restaurant in general. But if you looking for one around the South Bend area, Macri's is the place to go. They offer all you can eat buffet during lunch hour from Tuesday to Friday. It is not a super big buffet, but I do like the varieties that they offer. They have the full salad bar, pasta, pizza, and some side dishes. The food is super fresh and hot. As the food is low, they continuously adding fresh one. My favorite is the Fried Chicken and the Chicken Noodles Soup. The Fried Chicken just have a thin breading and the meat is super juicy and tender. Their Chicken Noodles Soup is more to the thicker side and loaded with carrot, celery, egg noodles and shredded chicken. I love the buffet option and have to come back and try out other menu items as well.

The food was very good but wasn't outstanding. I loved the pasta, but the pizza was overcooked. The service wasn't the best either. Our waiter spilled our drink but she was a nice old woman and we forgave her. As you would think, the ambiance is delightful which makes me give this place a solid 4/5.

The food is always good, especially the buffets. They have a great, fully stocked salad bar. My favorite is the friendly wait staff. Cute little place with warm and inviting atmosphere.

My brother surprised me with a visit to one of his favorite spots in South Bend and I understand why it's a favorite. The custom pasta was superb and the fresh bread is simply amazing. Service was great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I cannot wait to return. This is my new go to when I pass through South Bend.

Some of my friends and family were in there last night. They were pretty busy and we had to wait for a bit. The co-owner came to our table several times to check on us and gave us some breadsticks to tide us over. The server was awesome and the food was great.

Great service great food great prices. Would be happy to return with out-of-town guest or family group dinner.

We have eaten at Macri's many times over the past few years. Menu dining and takeout has always been good. Our most recent visit was for the lunch buffet. The quality of the food and attention paid to the buffet has consistently gone downhill. During our last visit nothing seemed to be right. One diner didn't use a new plate on a second trip and tapped the serving spoons on his dirty plate. I tried the Mac and cheese on my first trip and it was cold. My wife tried the fried chicken and it was very dry. We both tried the pizza and it to be the worst we have had in a long time. The crust was chewy and the cheese didn't look fresh. It had obviously been sitting in the warmer way too long. Even the service was subpar. Our server indicated she was getting us drink refills but never did. I went up by the register to request the refill. An unfortunate visit as we no longer view the restaurant in the same positive way we one did. Not sure we will try the buffet again.

The carbonara is basically scrambled eggs with pasta. Staff was nice and welcoming but definitely needs to improve at least that dish.

Very disappointed in the $16.95 lasagna as well as the 14" pizza that did not appear to have extra cheese as requested. Plus the pizza seemed too well done and very hard crust. The breadsticks were equally disappointing. Taking a long break from this restaurant, not worth $49!

We went at 6:15 on a Friday. It was busy but our party of 9 got right in- we did do a table of 5 and a table of 4. The garlic knots and marinara sauce are delicious - warm and fresh. Some people in our party got pasta, others pizza, some sanwiches. There's something for everyone. Food came out warm and flavorful. Staff was friendly and attentive. No complaints at all!

We googled places to eat as we were passing through, we took a chance and we were not disappointed! The food was AMAZING! and the marinara perfection. We live no where near South Bend, yet we're treated like we lived next door and eat here weekly. The staff has longevity! A rare thing to see now. Linda AKA hooker! Was simply the best personality I have encountered in a long time. This place is a must stop if your ever in the South Bend area! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Hooker for a wonderful stop on an otherwise mundane trip.

Wish I could give no stars. We waited 5 min for 2 glasses of water, 10 minutes to take our order. We got a side salad after 20 minutes our entree never came waited 45 min was told in 1 1/2 minutes it will be ready . 10 min later asked what we owed for one side salad it was $5.95. Paid it and left. No apologies to us nothing. I wouldn't have paid for the salad but my husband did. We used to come here all the time and we moved 6 years ago. The food then was delicious and authentic . We were hoping it would be the same. We knew right away before even asking if there were new owners, yes. I can't give you a review on the food because we never got to taste it. We were pretty much ignored, the waitress never came to let us know how long it would be before the food was ready, or if we might want something while waiting, nothing. Would not recommend this place.

Great pizza. Relaxed environment, and just a cool place to come grab some good comfort food.

Ordered for takeout as it was the only Italian & pizza opened at the time. The Bruschetta was the only decent thing, although the crostini's tasted store bought and the cold shredded mozzarella on top of the tomato mix wasn't authentic. The mozzarella sticks were mismatched as if they finished one batch of frozen foods and had another type/brand to mix it in with, completely different breading and a bit off-putting. Lastly the pizza, we ordered two large (cheese & veggie) while it smelled and looked delicious it was by far the worst pizza crust I have ever tasted in my life. It was hard and bready, like biting into cardboard, it was almost inedible. Never again. Over $80 bucks and a complete disappointment

Stopped in and ordered the Ravioli appetizer. It was quick and delicious! Hope to go back sometime!

Service was great-but disappointed in food. Shrimp scampi had no flavor, my daughter had spaghetti and meatballs-the meatballs tasted burnt & husband's panini had dry meat and was mostly bread. Last visit there.

We make the trip from Indy to West Michigan frequently and this spot is a great pit stop right off the highway. I've been to their Villa Macri location and had a great experience, and my in-laws often get carry out salads and sliced prosciutto from their downtown S. Bend location, so we knew this location would be good. It was! We ordered sandwiches to go, and shared each other's. I had the hot veggie sandwich and my husband ordered the cold Italian sub. Both were packed with flavor. They were served with chips, though if I were dining in I would've opted for soup or salad on the side. The bread must be either homemade or Gonnella, it was great! The one downside is that they don't offer outdoor seating. Though, there is a beautifully maintained grassy area with flowering trees about 200ft from the entrance. Next time we may picnic with our pup and little kiddos!

I went here on a fairly normal Saturday night. It was not what I would consider busy, and a bus boy greeted me when I walked in and told me to have a seat at the table near the cashier. After five minutes, an older woman who I presume was in charge came and told me my waitress, who was talking to a nearby table, would be right with me. She was friendly and brought me water. And then I sat there for twenty minutes. I am not a shy person, and I kept trying to make eye contact with someone. It's an awkward situation to attempt to ask, "excuse me, are you aware that I am your table?" But I would have done so, if only anyone had even glanced in my direction. I felt invisible. When the waitress walked briskly by after taking an order from yet another table in the small dining room that came in after me, I gathered my things and left. To be fair, this isn't a good review. I've never tried the food. Sure wish I could have.

We come here a few times a year, mainly for family dinners, and it's always been great. Broad array of menu options and the prices are very reasonable (almost always have leftovers to take home). Staff is very friendly, and the interior is well maintained. No complaints.

While going out tonight I wanted a salad my go to is usually Panera because I can rely on them to give me a great salad. I am sorely disappointed in my to-go salad tonight that should've been completely refunded. First off wait was 30 minutes. I ordered without croutons and they put them on anyway. So we pick off the croutons only for me to realize they left off the Parmesan that was to be on this ceased salad. So we took it back in only for them to put on the shaker Parmesan. I then go to put dressing in my salad only to find a piece of hair in the top of the dressing?!? What kind of a restaurant sells a 10 dollar Caesar salad with no real shaved Parmesan and allows hair into the dressing! I'm sorely disappointed and will never be back to this restaurant. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because they did have a military discount.

Really good! Similar to Barnaby's Pizza. Bar cheese and crackers are also excellent! Have eaten here several times and would recommend pasta too

I never post anything. This was the worst pizza I have ever had. Home run frozen pizzas put this pizza to shame. $27 for a 3 topping pizza. I could have spent 7 bucks on a home run and it would have been better than this. The crust was like a premade crust And hardly any toppings. Would really like to support a restaurant on the south side of South Bend But you make it impossible.

Went for lunch buffet Typically not a fan of buffets but friend suggested we try it. Salad was ok. Pasta was ok, mac&cheese bland, pizza ok . Canned pudding desert was funky. Overall paid 9.95 for not much and quality was lack luster. The one thing that stood out was how cold the iced tea was. It was frosty cold! Our server came took our buffet order brought our iceberg teas and never came back. The other server cleared our plates twice. When paying our original server met us at cashier and gave our check to the cashier. Would I go again? Meh maybe not for buffet but maybe menu lunch. Depends on pricing and if every other eatery was closed. You know, maybe for the coldest tea on a hot summer day.

Awesome friendly service, seating was a little cramped but not a big deal, we've been there a few times and love the food every single time! Great to go out on a date night, and enjoy some wine, but also great to take the kids too!!

It was late and another restaurant was out of bread for sandwiches so I went next door to Macri's to order dinner. I ordered the Italian sub and an Angus burger with bacon and cheese, along with two desserts. It was over $39 and I added a $5 tip for a to go order so I thought this was going to be good food and portions. The sub was not even six inches long and I have gotten better subs from Jersey Mikes. The burger was ok for my wife. Based on an Italian restaurant I would think the sub would be a signature item but a big disappointment. I may try the pizza the next time it did look good.

Service was greatly. Restaurant is nicely decorated & clean. I had the stuffed shells and pasta fagioli soup. They were good, not exceptional. My son had the Italian sub; he liked it. Bread was doughy.

So far so good. 8 Pm after the Notre Dame game- Not busy at all. Authentic / classy decor. Bathrooms clean. Ordered the deep dish pizza gonna be a 45 minute wait but that's ok - ordered cheese sticks to start and they are very good with even better breadsticks. Breadsticks (were offered for free)are awesome sprinkled with Parmesan and chewy like the inside of a biscuit. Quick to clear the the dishes but a little delayed to refill an over iced soda. Pizza was massive with massive load of cheese and crust - 8 pieces - We each had one piece . Plenty! $26

Lunch buffet, normally not my thing. But Italian sounded good. 10.65 tax in for buffet and water. Water with lemon, was pretty good water. Salad was good, not a lot of choices, but all seemed fresh. Lasagna on a lunch buffet was a first for me, I liked it. Had pizza also, but only two to choose from at a time. They had another pasta, mac n cheese, fried chicken, Salisbury steak and mashed taters. Oh and some mixed veggies. It was pretty good lunch, not over the top Italian, but was a lunch buffet. Service was fine, never expect much for a buffet. I will try it again and order menu item, they had plenty of specials at the door. Nothing bad here, just not over the top.I wouldn't steer away, give it a try

Excellent pizza! Ordered on a busy Friday night but it only took 30 minutes. The inside is setup for one way in and one way out so pickup was a breeze. I will be ordering again soon because all of their food is outstanding. They get it ready quick and keep you safe during pickup.

Great pizza made with excellent ingredients. I had shrimp Alfredo this time and it was outstanding... The fried ravioli appetizer is yummy. First time trying the house sangria and it is very good as well. Small quaint and excellent food..

By far the best pizza we've had in a long time. The mushrooms were fresh, the cheese was delicious, and the bread was baked perfectly (not doughy at all). My husband and I got a 16 inch deep dish, and we were each only able to eat one slice because it was so big (We normally eat over half a pizza)! The quality and price was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend.

I go here quite a bit. My two favorites are the eggplant parmesan sandwich is my top pick and the chicken parmesan sandwich. I went yesterday to try their lunch buffet which on Thursdays is a Polish style buffet with fried chicken oh, sweet and sour cabbage, kluski noodles, Polish sausage, pizza, mac and cheese, mostaccioli or baked ziti. Include salad bar. The chicken on the polish buffet was very crispy. Everything was good.

I've been here before and the food was amazing. But tonight was a train wreck. Our waitress was wonderful but the kitchen was off. Not their fault they sucked. My Alfredo usually wonderful tasted like buttered noodles thanks frank for the 2 dollar discount. It cost you a customer for life next time do the right thing.

Slowest service; Parmesan chicken had little sauce, very little flavor! Won't be returning. Didn't feel it would do any good to say anything as the waitress barely had time to come by the table to ask about anything.

I'm not sure why this place has bad reviews. We were here last night and had an enjoyable meal The place was busy, but we got a table right away. Our waitress brought us menus and took our drink order. We opted for the Chicken Parmesan and egg plant Parmesan. We started with a salad which our waitress brought before the entrees. It's a decent basic salad, nothing fancy. The food arrived and was very hot It was a large portion of pasta. The chicken and eggplant were both delicious So was the garlic bread that comes with it Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. No issues here. This is a nice place

I'd love to review the food, because it smelled pretty good, but after wasting 20% of my lunch break just hoping to be noticed by the wait staff, I muttered something rather unchristian under my breath (rhymes with "duck it") and left. They clearly don't want my business, so I'm not going to trouble them by trying to give it to them.

Ordered a large thin crust pizza after a long day driving into South Bend. Great flavor and a huge large pizza. For thin crust, the crust could have been thinner but the flavor and fresh ingredients more than made up for the crust not being as thin as I prefer. We will go back!

Finally, something fantastic and unique on the South Side! You'll be magically transported from a strip mall across from a WalMart to...well, you can at least pretend you're in Italy and not be too far off. Macri's offers a generous variety of Italian food for more than one price range. Don't underestimate their wonderful sandwiches. People just don't understand how amazing eggplant can be.
