Come for the wings they said, they were good, had the blackberry chipotle and garlic Parm split half and half. To much sauce on the blackberry coated to the point the wings were as little soggy, The garlic Parm were double cooked falling off the bone. They were ok, not bad not great. Good size and an amazing value. Service was good, very friendly staff. I would have ordered another drink if anyone had asked. Felt grungy, but wasn't dirty. The bar selection was underwhelming. Like they'd raided a college party. Overall worth trying. Just felt like something was missing.

Sadly, most of the food tasted like rancid grease. The onion rings, toast, and burger bun. Spinach dip was chunky (curdled-ish) and just mid. Waiter/bartender was great, and service was quick. My pineapple draft beer definitely tasted funky, unfinishable. Probably won't be stopping in to eat here again (or have a draft beer) but would like to try their special martinis and cocktails sometime.

Food was ok, the bartender was doing a good job of tending the bar and being the waitress.

Our recent experience was highly positive, despite the high volume of patrons. The service was efficient, and the quality of the food was excellent, particularly the beef stew. We also recommend attending the wing night. We found the atmosphere and the people to be quite enjoyable.

Food was amazing but before we even got to that, the service team was amazing. TL; DR: servers/bartenders were amazing and fast! When we got there, the tables were packed so we sat at the bar. They weren’t sugarcoating that it might be a little bit for our food. Wasn’t very long! By the time we were finishing our first drinks they were clearing a table and offering that we could move from the bar. The servers and bartenders were funny and sweet. The food was amazing. I had the bacon Mac and cheese burger with fries. The drinks were fantastic. Wish I was local!

overall 10/10, really good and i really enjoyed it. plus you’re able to get the wings naked then get a variety of sauces :) the peach sweet hot and blackberry bbq were two of my favorites!! will definitely be back 10/10 recommend

My server was a dude with glasses. He was very helpful and friendly. I got wings and mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had. The wings slapped too. Great place

Absolutely great. The food is elevated bar food. They have all the classics like burgers, wings, nachos but the quality of food is just better. The environment and atmosphere here is a pretty traditional American Irish pub. Very enjoyable and welcoming people, customers and staff. The drinks are generally the classics and spins on the classics. Mules, sours, martinis. They have been here for 90+ years for a reason. They rival big city pubs in all aspects. P.S. If you are looking for what to order just get the wings, top 3 wings I've ever had.

Stopped in on St. Patrick 's day for a pint. Had the Guinness, was ok. The food specials were good. Had the Irish stew. Was pretty good. Good ambience and attentiveness from staff.

While I'm traveling I like to find the the unique places, old places, historic places for new experiences and Mac's tavern was around the corner from my hotel and dates back to 1934. The place is beautiful with what looks like original tile floors and wooden bar with booths. The food smell in the air was amazing and everyone was ordering food but I had dinner plans. The staff was very friendly. After having a couple cocktails and the never ending smell of good food I said F it let me see a menu and I wouldn't have drive to the dinner restaurant and go back around the corner to my room. The buttermilk southern fried chicken sandwich with choice of flavored Mayo and side sounded really good so I opted for garlic Parmesan Mayo and frys. I opted for my fresh toppings to be lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. The bun was perfect because it was a fresh egg wash hearty bun but not hard/dense that didn't fall apart with the hearty sandwich. The chicken breast had a crunchy tasty batter but not super thick and perfectly golden brown for a sandwich. The fresh toppings were awesome on the chicken sandwich. The frys were average and needed to be seasoned better but still ok. Overall Im a cheeseburger guy but I'm really getting into chicken sandwiches lately because they can be so good and this one was so I'm so glad that I changed dinner plans.

We're in town visiting & decided to come here for dinner, was trying to decide what i wanted until i seen the option of the Blackberry Chipotle BBQ sauce for the wings....OMG.... The server said this was the most picked choice and I can see why. I'm usually a traditional hot wings person but this was by far the best sauce!!! I wish I had gotten the 12pc. I also had the Happy Ending drink, which also was exceptional!!! Wish we lived closer to be able to come back often. They also took a lot of time to decorate for the holidays.

Service is key! I stop in when in town on business. Tonight's experience was up to par as usual. Jordan took care of me and did a phenomenal job! The Saturday afternoon burger special hit the spot and the beer was cold. Service was attentive and friendly. The bar has the character and charm from days gone by. This could be our new "Cheers!" Definitely will come back for more!

Great local place that has been around for decades. Great wings, sandwiches, nachos, etc. will keep going for many years to come, great dive bar atmosphere!

The Bacon Mac n Cheese burger, was an overall solid meal to consume. Normally, when eating Mac N Cheese burgers, a mess could be expected in your future; however, this burger was made in such a solid way, that the mess was kept to a minimum, while still holding the taste and value of a great burger that just so happened to be topped with Mac n cheese. I highly recommend this meal if you are ever so happen to sit down at Mac's Tavern.

I live out of town but when I come home, Mac's is on my list! The bartender is friendly and the food is delicious. Martini Tuesday: don't miss it. Been coming here for decades and it's still the best in DT Davenport. Thanks Gary and staff family!

Fist time. Service was excellent. Fish fry smelled fantastic. We had fish and Mac and cheese. Both were excellent. All this and they had one person tending bar. He also waited all the tables. In the kitchen they had only one worker too! Wow. On top of that the place was clean, comfortable, and cozy.

Mac's is a good spot to meet up with friends for drinks! Very casual atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and some really good happy hour and late night deals. They also have a full menu for dinner. It's mostly your standard bar food, that arrives hot and greasy. I think the real draw for food is their wings. They have a TON of sauce options and wings are only 65 cents on Wednesday. I probably wouldn't go here specifically for food, but when the drunk munchies hit, it tastes pretty darn good.

Food is actually fairly priced and delicious, hard to find that nowadays but inside the vibes are priceless. Quickest way I can sum up Mac's. Easiest 5 starts I've ever given.

Worst service ever! Tried to place an order through GrubHub. They never acknowledged the order. Then told the driver that they were on a limited menu because it's St. Patrick's Day. So we cancelled the item that wasn't on the limited menu. Then when the driver arrived to pick up the rest of the order they told the driver that the kitchen was closed. This is ridiculously bad service. What? You couldn't adjust the online menu for your limited St Patrick's Day menu? You couldn't mark yourself offline so that you wouldn't get online orders? What poor planning and horrible service!

I've visited Mac's Tavern twice now, and it's a great place to hang out. I love just sitting at the bar, taking in the abundant decor. My parents bought us dinner here on our second trip, and I honestly think that Mac's has the best wings in town. I know I'll be back for more. The macaroni and cheese was both delicious and cost effective. It was around $4 for the entree size, though for a few more dollars you can add on meat or veggies. Mac's has been around forever and I can't believe I'm just now figuring out what a cool bar it is. My next goal is to get there on a Thursday night for karaoke!

GET THE SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH. I don't have a photo because I swallowed it fucking whole. It seriously was better than any piece of chicken I have ever digested in my entire life!!! Don't get the burger don't get the wings get the chicken sandwich

Great food and ambiance. Jordan was a rockstar. All seats at the bar full, large party at the back and many booths seated . He knew everyone's orders , drinks etc. he was hopping with the biggest smile and best attitude. Vintage tile floor, if that's your vibe. Nice beer selection. I recommend the Ruben , yum

Soo good the wings were delish. The Jamaican jerk 3/10 just bbq flavor with spices. But the garlic parm was 10/10

Can't mess up a tap beer. Service was good. Unfortunately mixed drinks might be hit or miss. Ordered an old fashioned and it was the worst one I've ever had.

We are from Chicago and have to say best wings!!! Had Buffalo and Parmesan garlic with a side of spinach artichoke dip!!! Excellent!!! Beer was good and cold! Will stop again before we leave town! Thanks Gary and Sasha!!! Angie says hello!

Staff was super nice. My boyfriend loved his Mac and cheese burger but my Mac and cheese was just not what I expected.

Good wings average burger good service good atmosphere, kind of what a tavern used to be. If I lived in the area I would be here every week or two.

We were introduced to Mac's by our friends. Loved the old timey atmosphere! Food was very good; we have since been there 2 more times. I hate to complain, but the only issue I have is with the service. Every time we were there, the bartenders had to wait on the bar AND the tables! We felt bad for them, there is no question. But we kind of felt like we were an imposition because they were so busy. We had what I call "drive by service", where they drop off what we asked for as they were jogging to the next table. I can't blame the staff for that: I think they need another person around dinner time.

Am from out of town visiting friends. Stopped here to get dinner. There was only one guy serving tables, seemed to be very understaffed for a Saturday evening. The total experience was ok. The food was good, burger was a bit overdone as it was kind of dry. But otherwise a good meal. Would try again if I came back to town.

First time here and I will definitely be back again! Upon arrival the owner came to us straight away and let us pick a table wherever we wanted on the patio. Gave us enough time to look over the menu and got us drinks right away. The smokehouse burger was absolutely delicious and the fries are super good too. Also have amazing wings and plenty of different sauces to choose from. The service was beyond amazing as well! Can't say enough great things about this place. Definitely a place to check out when in downtown Davenport.

The word "Tavern" has lost translation. It has become generic. Walking into a vintage joint like Mac's Tavern warrants ordering a classic cocktail. We asked the "Stone Faced" bartender if he can make an "Old Fashioned". He was irritated with the request...a shit rendition was delivered. So, obviously he was only capable of opening bottles of beer. Truth be told, classic cocktails are not easy to make. A vintage tavern should be able to represent the classics and know the difference. However, none of this swayed my opinion of a unique vintage building with an amazing vibe.

I can honestly say this place had the best wings I have ever had. The bartenders were very nice and welcoming to us. We sampled 8 different kinds of wings and none of them disappointed. We will be going back for sure.

I LOVE their chicken wings. Literally the best chicken wings I've ever had. If you're only coming here for drinks you're seriously missing out. Their food is so good!

A friend and I are in Davenport for work this week and we like finding the places to eat that we feel are hidden gems. This one just might have been the best yet. If you want an amazing burger, killer fries, and unbeatable service then stop in here. We both got the Smokehouse Burger and we ate every single bite. Give these folks your business, they won't disappoint!

Super friendly local tavern. Bartenders interact with everyone, food is also pretty good! We come every couple years from IL and always make sure to stop in, have a few drinks and grab a T-shirt. Definitely a place to stop in!

Fantastic service and food. Serving sizes were incredibly generous. The drinks were amazing. The service was wonderful. The gentleman at the bar made us feel right at home. We found it online while were in town on vacation. We loved the atmosphere and the music. The wooden bar is beautiful. Highly recommend the macaroni and cheese and the burgers.

We found this little gem last year and have been back several times. The drink variety is pretty good and the food is even better. Dive bar feel with cool historical well laid out vibes. Highly recommend you stop on and try the stew.

Went there on Saturday afternoon while in Davenport for show choir. Stopped in. Ordered burgers and wings. Solid burger basket. Especially loved brioche bun. Wings good flavor. Got macaroni and cheese as side. Very good space. Great food and reasonable prices. Only reason not a five is because we were only ones in bar. Son it sure how great when busy. But very good experience

Mac's Tavern is a fantastic bar in the Downtown Davenport area that offers nearly anything anyone would want from a tavern in the Quad Cities. If you enjoy a well-crafted martini, an Old Fashioned, a tasty import beer (and I don't mean Guinness or Blue Moon), or a Bud Light, the awesome bar staff at Mac's can offer you greatness. I don't eat at Mac's nearly as often as I used to, but the food there is tasty and inexpensive as good bar fare should be. The tacos are some of the best bar tacos I've ever had. The liquor selection is daunting, with varieties on all of your favorite liquors, and some more exotic fare. They can make any shot or mixed drink your little heart can muster. The beer selection is good, but not great. If you're looking for a hall of beer, ala Old Chicago or more local venues like RIBCO, you will be disappointed, but what they do have is still mighty tasty, and can handle most all of your flavor requests. The atmosphere is good, the booths are comfortable, but the real star of the show is the bar staff. They're good folk that make you feel like you've been there for years from minute one. Whenever I'm in Downtown Davenport, Mac's is usually my first and last stop.

After noticing the sign outside a while back, I decided to try out Mac's last night and see how it is. The inside decor was kinda cool, it had an old fashioned feel to it. The drinks were good and there was plenty of seating. The music they played was very good (especially for what I've been hearing in most bars in Davenport). Lots of more obscure indie rock instead of Top 40 type stuff. I ordered a grilled cheese and fries and I think it was the best bar food I've ever had. The staff was really nice and accommodating too. As it got later and later, the crowd naturally got a lot bigger. However, even though it got crowded the people weren't really too annoying. We will definitely be returning to Mac's in the near future!

I went here with my service dog and was illegally asked for his 'paperwork' by the employee. A second employee was involved who also asked for it. We explained the ADA laws, showed him the ADA website, and law cards. He said he didn't give a 'f**k'. That's not how you treat a customer. A business can only legally ask 2 questions. 1. Is that a service dog? 2. What task(s) has it been trained to perform? We said we would call the police to have them explain the laws if needed. He threatened to kick us out. Someone in a service dog handler Facebook group messaged them, and the employee lied and stated that I claimed my service dog was a support dog. The only way he stopped harassing us was asking to see my dogs vest, while legally a service dog does not have to be vested. Poor experience and we will not return. The man didn't even apologize once to us.

Great food! Mac n cheese with steak was good. The menu is pretty large and some of their burgers are the best! I havevtried a few items off their menu and enjoyed every one of them. Service was excellent. Its a 40 minute trip , but worth it! We will be back.

This place was great - the music was outstanding (no Top 40 - talking heads, Elvis Costello, etc.), the food was really good (their cheeseburger with jalapenos -yessss) and the food I saw others order looked great too (for anyone willing to melt their face off, my bar stool neighbor asked for the hottest wings they could make - the cook made ghost pepper oil for the wings and god knows what else. He loved them, we all loved watching him eat them. Hilarity ensued. There are a few TV's for sports and whatnot, and there's also a side room with bags (aka cornhole) and some other bar games for you to enjoy. Overall a solid choice. Beer choices were good - domestics and microbrews like lagunitas, rogue, etc.

This is such a great place! Food was awesome and you won't leave hungry. Very reasonable and really fun staff. Definitely will go here again

Simply the best. The best bar staff in town and chef never ever disappoints. You can never go wrong with a martini and with chefs cooking.

Fun place for the pals and I to hang out after a day on the golf course. The canned beer was interesting. It is my second favorite "Mac's" in continental United States.

I'm new to the QC and decided to check out the Irish pubs in downtown Davenport for St. Patrick's Day. I ended up at Mac's Tavern and was very impressed. Even with the holiday crowd, the service was top-notch. And they make killer bangers and mash. And the decor and music really added to the ambiance of a real Irish pub. Will go there again!

I have been drunk here. I mean drunk. The kind of drunk that brings shame to your dead family members. To my surprise they serve food. Recently discovered this when I came down with a brief bout with sobriety. Yes, when I stay sober I hang in bars. Don't judge me... Jerk. Anywho the food is really good. Or maybe it's my cup of tea, chorizo on nachos and pizza. The pizza also has a handmade taste and texture. Great wings with unique sauces. Pricing that is very reasonable. It's a proper downtown bar. Note: this is a regular night, at a reasonable time, before the kids get in there with their unst-unst-unst. Channeling my dad now... And suddenly I crave Camel lights.

I have been driving cross country and stopped for the night in Davenport. I chose Mac's for dinner because of the excellent Yelp reviews. This time Yelp was spot on. The place was just right, with excellent music (tending toward Indie) and the best bar food I have ever had. You MUST try the Irish stew. The bartender told me the secret ingredient is Guinness beer. :) The drinks are good and inexpensive and the people were nice and not at all smug.

One of the best bars in the QC that hasn't turned into a chain like bar. Love this place whenever I'm there and the foods alway awesome too.
