Every time I venture to The Woodlands Mall, I park at the Macy's entrance to enter. I've walked through this store countless times and only on occasion have I ever stopped to purchase anything - and that was always at one of the cosmetic counters.
Today, though, I was on a hunt for some children's items. Figured since we were already there, I'd give the big department store a try. Hunted upstairs and downstairs only to eventually be told that the children's department is in a separate mall location. Well, okay, that was helpful.
Get to the children's area, finally. Lovely clothing, but I'm looking for shoes. Macy's used to carry nice kids' shoes in the past but now . . . have to flag down a sales associate who tells me that children's shoes are back in the main store, on display within women's shoes. Huh?
He was very nice, though, so I'm giving him kudos for that. He forewarned me that their selection wasn't that spectacular and I may want to look elsewhere. He was absolutely right, for when I found them, nearly two-thirds of the selection were glitzy, junky girl shoes - talk about inequity!
Disappointed in Macy's merchandise. Really I am. I can remember shopping in the Herald Square store in NY and being blown away by the selection. This is a shadow of THAT Macy's.
If it weren't for the ladies at the Clinique counter, I'd be giving this Macy's a 1-star review. Well, maybe the fact that I love their convenient parking lot entrance, too, but is that because no one is parking there and shopping here? Whatever the reason, I park at Macy's and walk through it. Stop at Clinique and that's it. Sales staff in other areas are personable but there's really nothing here to buy, other than cosmetics.
