From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and at home. The barista greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel like a regular. But what really blew me away was the coffee - rich, flavorful, and expertly crafted. Every sip was a delight! The service was genuine and friendly, with a personal touch that's hard to find at bigger chains. The cozy atmosphere and inviting decor only added to the charm. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just looking for a friendly spot to grab a cuppa, this place is a must-visit.

First time in. We purchased a few beverages. Nice coffee shop on the outskirts of town. Really cool spot. Will visit again when I'm going to Abilene.

Everything tastes better when the service is amazing! My husband and I have been here quite a bit because it's the closest coffee shop to our home. The drinks have been consistently great 👍🏼 and so has the service 😀 Get a donut! They are so good! Went in on a weekend and husband was able to get some biscuits and gravy. He LOVED them. I got a croissant sandwich with egg and cheese and thought it was good.

Google
The servers were great. The coffee was among the worst I've ever tasted. They brewed it for me 2 ways in an effort to make it drinkable but obviously the owners are sourcing coffee from the local dump.

Leah G.

Google
Loved the feel of this coffee shop right off the bat. They have so many flavor options! Plenty of sugar free ones also, which is a plus for us. I got a sugar free hazelnut latte, extra hot, and my husband had a sugar free Irish crème latte. We also got an everything croissant with sausage, egg and cheese. The croissant was so soft and delicious! They brought our coffees and food out to us. Friendly staff.

Google
Great Spot. Great People. Great Coffee. A warm and welcoming environment with an array of offerings. Excellent place to grab a cup to go but also to work, to meet or to relax in.

Google
Beautiful cool spot. Very friendly, personable servers. I wasn't a fan of their cold brew but it was a neat place. They have dog treats.

James Spreter

Google
We came here based on the online reviews and found our visit to be ok. Nothing was bad but nothing really stood out as good. The people were super nice and the service was responsive. The overall decor and environment was quite lovely. The doughnuts we looked forward to from online reviews came out frozen, the breakfast bagel was ok but had no type of sauce and the mustard they gave me was all expired and dehydrated (think play doh)

Yelp
Coffee is always made correctly, I go every morning. Cash discount of 5% Girls running the drive through are always super friendly, sweet, and efficient. Love my stamp card! Inside has comfy seating and clean dining area, calm and relaxing atmosphere

Yelp
MAD is the perfect name. Tried it for the first time and seeing RED. There was no one else in line to order at the drive thru had to repeat my order several times before it was understood. I ordered a small cappuccino and Chai latte. Went forward. One person waiting at the pickup window. What felt like an eternity later they get their order and drive away. Pull forward. Wait. Wait. Wait. Crickets. Wait. Wait. Wait. I'm going to be late..wait. wait. Wait. I could have brewed my own coffee by now. Wait. Wait. Wait. Finally someone comes to the window. Yay! $9.20 later we get our order..a medium Chai and a small cappuccino and NO discount even though I paid cash. Drive Thru should be 50% off their regular prices because the service and ambiance are not included. Geez. No thank you I will brew my own at home. VERY MAD

Yelp
My cold brew was great! Muffins always are excellent and is a quiet place to study/work.

Yelp
Dig This spot. Relaxed vibe, great drip and nice crew. Cool place to chill or have a meeting.

Yelp
We stopped by this coffee house while in Abilene for our daily afternoon coffee. The place was very busy but service was quick and attentive. We are just your basic drip coffee folks, usually with Splenda and half-and-half, and maybe a shot of flavoring. Our coffee was fresh, hot and perfectly blended. It's a good place to go and hang out if that's what you do. The atmosphere was very nice and calm. We are in Abilene quite often so I know we'll stop by again.

Yelp
Glad to stop there and try it out. I may just have not ordered the right thing, but it had an odd after taste. The customer service was great and the overall was excellent

Yelp
Great people, great food, great drinks and great atmosphere. Very cute interior with lots of seating and WiFi.

Yelp
One of my least favorite coffee shops. Most of the girls behind the counter shouldn't be taking orders. They can't remember what is said 3 seconds after it's said. Example "I'd like a small black coffee with no room". Their response differs slightly but goes like this "was that a large coffee with cream". Unfortunately, it's the closest coffee shop to where I live and it's clean. So I come here about once a week. So two stars. Train. Your. People. However, if you want some good coffee shops go to Maslow's, Mezamiz, the Hallows, and Monks. In that order.

Yelp
It was nice of a one time adventure; Great atmosphere, nice staff, but the prices are very high

Yelp
Mad Coffee is a great place to relax if you want somewhere that's like Starbucks but more quiet and friendly! The workers all seem very nice and they have great cinnamon rolls, muffins and all sorts of great drinks both hot and cold! I don't love the coffee but I'm not a big coffee drinker anyways and I'm certainly no connoisseur! Their smoothies are all very good too but my favorite is the frozen hot chocolate!
google avatar

Loresa M.

Yelp
The coffee is fantastic and the staff are super nice. Love this place!! I will go out of my way to get coffee here from now on!

Yelp
Quaint little place just off the highway. Very convenient for our travels around town. The staff are very friendly and fast. Espresso is good, plenty of options for espresso drinks. Cool mix of breakfast foods and treats, nothing spectacular, but gets the belly full. We enjoyed the Lemon Blueberry Togo very much! Excited to make this a more regular stop for us.

Yelp
At first, I was pretty worried that I wouldn't be able to find a good coffee shop in Abilene when I moved back last year. I am so happy that I found Mad Coffee and the wonderful staff that make up this nice little spot for coffee, study, community and the like. They bring in their coffee from Austin and it's really, really good. I normally get a medium cup of what they call a "Green Eye," that is three shots of espresso and the rest filled with regular coffee. It makes for a tasty and very caffeinated treat and will last me the entire day. I dare not to drink it all at once so consider yourself warned. :) My other favorites include the peach/mango smoothie and their beloved cold brew coffee. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with either of these options. Besides the coffee and the treats that they offer, you will be happy to find yourself inside a comfortable and very welcoming coffee shop that has very clean bathrooms and nice background music. While I have found a few other coffee shops in the area, I continue to come back to Mad because of the super friendly service and the coffee, of course. I am so happy that I found my hangout, here in Abilene. I highly recommend giving Mad Coffee a try. Stay caffeinated, my friends. MLA

Yelp
A cute coffee shop located right off the highway in Abilene, TX. It is by itself across from a gas station, kind of out of the way from most stuff in Abilene. I stopped here while on the road and order an ice coffee. I thought the coffee was good but was quiet acidic, which I do not care for. Apart from that, the coffee did its job and the staff was nice. The shop itself had a lot of comfy looking couches so it may be a good place to go study or hang out. Overall a decent place in Abilene.

Cindy C.

Yelp
They are always quick and very polite. Coffee is always hot, or cold, which ever way I like it that day the location is convenient from where I live.
google avatar

Shane S.

Yelp
The barista seemed unsure in her knowledge about the coffee/product. They use a Texas coffee. The cold brew tasted a bit sour like it was possibly an old batch. The espresso in the latte was quite bitter. It is a cute shop, but one of the least informed. I visit a ton of local coffee shops and I like to ask questions about the coffee, flavor and methods. The coffee was simply okay, not much to choose from in the area.

Chloe S.

Yelp
Excellent place to hang out with a friend over coffee, although their non-coffee options are also splendid. Their iced chais are a guilty pleasure of mine, and their smoothies are very nice as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee shop. It's located a little on the outskirt where nothing is surrounding the shop. A pro and a con in itself I guess. Super spacious and they have outlets available! What more could you ask for? Very study friendly or a nice place to catch up with your friends. I went here on a Saturday to study with a friend and I was surprised to see how clean this coffee shop was. Don't get me wrong, that's what I expect of most places, but I assumed it would be a little rustic but this place is actually pretty modern. There is even an area that allows you to open the windows to enjoy the outside air (another bonus). There is a bar area seating away from the actual place they make drinks which is nice. That's where the outlets are for regular plugs and USB ports. A lot of different options to get as far as drinks. You can add different flavors and make your own creation or just ask the barista. The staff was nice and they were very chill too. A lot of the times they just sat on the couch and relaxed until a customer stops on by. There's also a drive-thru for those who are in a rush and want a cup of Jo. Snacks are also sold there as far as baked goods. I'm a definite fan of this place and am so glad I stopped by. I got the ice matcha latte. It was definitely matcha but I would have liked it sweeter like at Starbucks. They allowed me to add syrup but I felt guilty adding more so I just drank it as it is. Next time, I'll try another drink and try to experiment more.

Yelp
Probably the nicest coffee shop in Abilene. My go to place when I want to get out of the office and work somewhere else. Good wifi. They also have abundant plugs and most of them have USB outlets built in so you can charge your phone if you bring the cord.
google avatar

Yelp
Love their coffee and friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience. It is a nice place to hang out in the evening with a few friends while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. Support local!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in shortly after they opened. What a great place. Really nice inside and one room has some half garage doors that open when the weather is nice. Oh, and the coffee was really good. I'll be back.
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
Pretty, but even more expensive than starbucks. Coffee was just ok, I was expecting better for the price. It actually had a bitter taste :( Going to sound a bit spoiled but I was expecting better sugar for the price as well (like the sugar in the raw) just wasnt too impressed. Second visit I got a Carmel machiato and it was actually very good. Better than starbucks!
google avatar

Margaux F.

Yelp
Stopped in to check out another one of Abilene's coffee shops and this one was great! Friendly staff, fair prices and a ton of selection. I got a sugar free chai latte with skim milk (love that they have sugar free chai!), and my mom got the regular coffee, both were very good. I noticed they have a large selection of sugar free and regular flavors, great bonus! They also had pastries and foods but I did not try any. Lots of seating as well and right off the highway so it is easy to get to. Will come back!
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Great coffee and amazing customer service! Interacting with the friendly staff made my day so much better and they were patient with me as I asked about lighter options. When I got to the window the gift card I was using was a few cents short and they waved it despite my insistence to find the loose change. I will definitely be returning!

Rebekah W.

Yelp
They were not that friendly. Their "iced latte" was just brewed coffee milk and flavoring. When asked to add a shot they just added more brewed coffee.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Big place and cool atmosphere. Latte was very good. Service fast. Be really cool if they served the dine in coffee in cups. I would come back again for sure.
google avatar

Sherry E.

Yelp
Okay let's talk serious. Hands down best gluten free dessert. The chocolate torte. Holy yummy. It also come in vanilla but I think the chocolate is better. The frozen hot chocolate is very good also. I get whipped cream mixed in and on the top:)
google avatar

Cheyanne C.

Yelp
Overpriced for the quality they serve. You can get better and cheaper from Starbucks, which is shocking.
google avatar

C. W.

Yelp
Great little spot. Coffee was good and they also had donuts and bagels. Workers were very nice and helpful

Tim M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place with a lot of personality. It is a great place to enjoy your coffee with two distinct sections. The main area is large with plenty of tables and there is a covered annex with two sets of couches. There is always a quiet place to read and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Not many places in the U.S. would beat this place on charm.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Not too bad of prices, about the same as anywhere else. For my first visit, the service was quick and the baristas were kind. I ordered the signature red velvet and it was amazingly rich and delicious. There are large tables for actual homework, studying, and work to be done. It was such a relief. They have a lot of seating including low tables, counter seats, as well as comfy couches. There is a quaint, rustic feeling in the decor. There is a fish aquarium which is super fun to watch. The bathrooms were nice. There is even a party room which can be reserved for large parties and gatherings. There is a TV playing "Dear John", radio on pop hits, free wii, plenty of outlets for laptops and chargers. The sell their own merchandize. The whole time I was there which was for several hours, not many people were there so it was a nice, non-distracting environment. Even when there were people there, everyone was studying in the main room and talking in the party room; therefore, no distractions. I really enjoyed visiting here, and I hope to visit again soon.

Yelp
My cafe breve this morning was really good. The baristas were very pleasant and helpful. Pricing was on par with what you would pay at any coffee shop and I appreciate another coffee shop in town with a drive-thru. The location is a little out of the way, but if you are in the medical area, Wylie schools, or the couple of large churches on 707/Beltway South, I'm sure it's worth the few minutes to get there. I'll be dropping by again.

Yelp
Mad Coffee and More is a nice, quiet coffee shop tucked into southern Abilene, and is a hidden oasis, serving some of the town's best coffee. I'm an amateur connoisseur of coffee (or at least I am in my head), and I've been making my own coffee long enough to be able to judge a quality roast from a cheap one. I was impressed with Mad Coffee's house brews, and I think it's an absolute travesty that it's so often overlooked by Abilenians because of its somewhat obscure location. However, due its lack of mass popularity, Mad Coffee cultivates a charming atmosphere that kids these days would likely refer to as "chill." I personally enjoy the quiet ambience that is so often sought after in coffee shops. I would go so far as to say that the coffee shop itself--its design, its atmosphere, the décor--are more impressive to me than the coffee itself. Either way, I give Mad Coffee and More 5 stars. 10/10, would recommend.
google avatar

Evan Y.

Yelp
The BEST coffee in Abilene! Believe me, I've looked. I try to make my opinion based on the black coffee since the bean is the most important part, and Mad Coffee does not leave me disappointed at all. PLUS, they have cold brew and it's great! The atmosphere is nice. More restaurant than coffee shop, but the people are genuinely welcoming and it's a nice place to gather with friends. Every time I pass by I will DEFINITELY grab a cup from them.
google avatar

Barrett L.

Yelp
This place is awesome. They have a great menu--20oz lattes. They have beautiful furniture and a lovely building overall. Great atmosphere. The customer service was refreshing and clearly purposeful. I was personally handed by drink before leaving. My hazelnut latte was great. I didn't see any food but it was on the menu. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I would also suggest that they open a location somewhere on north judge Ely.
google avatar

Huntress T.

Yelp
This is an awesome place. Service is great. I have had cappuccino's from some of the finest restaurants and this place is right up there with them. Blows Starbucks away!!
google avatar

Richie E.

Yelp
They may not have the world's best-tasting cup of coffee, and their milk may not be organic, but this place is one of my favorite coffee shops in Abilene. Nice environment, many tables and outlets (with USB outlets!) and very friendly staff. Tip: If you plan to stay, ask for your drink in a reusable mug! Otherwise the default is a throw-away cup. Tip: Ask for a loyalty card. 10 drink purchases = 1 free drink.
google avatar

K B.

Yelp
Great coffee, great South Abilene location, and great atmosphere. I enjoy spending the afternoon here with a cup of coffee (when I can). There is a back room (sun room type area) that can be rented out for small get together upon request. The parking is semi-limited especially on Wednesday nights and Sundays around noon. Those times are often when the coffee shop is crowded as well.. If you are looking for a quiet sit down those aren't the times. However that doesn't effect the quality of the coffee so stop by for that whenever.

Jennie D.

Yelp
Mad Coffee is on my morning commute route so we gave it a try one morning instead of going a few minutes out of the way to our usual place. Since then, we stop at least 2-3 times a week and haven't bothered with the longer wait times and extra drive to go anywhere else. They're always so kind and quick. The wait is never long and my orders have always been spot on. It's perfectly made every time and the fact that it's so perfectly convenient is a bonus.
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
Expensive, watered down coffee, smoothies that taste like eating frozen sugar, powdery frozen hot chocolate, a rip off of the Starbucks atmosphere, no in- house food, etc. What's not to like?

Joshua A.

Yelp
Cappuccino was good, but low ratings for poor service and not having what was ordered. Don't order Chemex coffe, mine was weak and no refund.
google avatar

Florence U.

Yelp
Mad Coffee brews such delicious coffee that I felt compelled to buy a bag for home (they use Laguna Las Ranas, which is based out of Austin). I never seemed to make it the same at home though, so I kept going back to the shop instead. There are ample outlets for laptops; plenty of seating from tables to stools to couches spanning both rooms; quick Wifi; and good ventilation with their ceiling fans (so important when sipping coffee on a hot TX summer day). Every time I've gone, it's been busy, but never crowded like Sbux that you can't seem to concentrate on work or your book, and instead are too focused on what the peeps crammed next to you are working on. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Abilene (the other being Monk's on the north side of town). It won't disappoint.

Matt S.

Yelp
Ok . So I am now on a mission to try all the coffee shops in Abilene. I tried Meza and I loved the atmosphere but the coffee was a 4 out of 5. The coffee here is a 5 out of 5. Atmosphere is 4. I wish there was more couches and less tables. They do have outlets and a great bar area so if you are working ot surfing it is great for that. If you just want to chill and read a book by yourself not the best. Overall the friendliness of the staff and the great coffee make it a 5 for me

Darshia33 ..

Yelp
Great coffee, calm and relaxing environment and super friendly staff. I love going to this establishment and suggest it to for anyone, even if you don't like coffee, they have a variety of cold drinks and Italian sodas and delicious desserts.

Mark D.

Yelp
Pros: Good hot drinks. Many more sugar-free options than I've seen in other coffee shops. Friendly staff, plenty of seating in different rooms to keeps the echoes down. Con: Fish tank needs a good cleaning, desperately.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
What a great coffee shop. The coffee is good, staff friendly and the garage room is great for meetings. Sometimes the barista can be slow, but it is not often.

Miller G.

Yelp
Had a coffee and a ham and cheese still looking for the ham. Did get a mouthful of cheese. I've been drinking coffee for over 50 years I didn't finish the cup I received from this shop. Wish them well hope they improve for future customers they won't have to worry about me.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this coffee joint. Being from Washington state, there are corner coffee shops on every intersection. I was extremely disappointed in several aspects: One, the parking lot was far from full but it took almost 10 minutes to receive my drink through the drive through. Second, I already knew what I wanted before I got there, but wanted to read it directly off the menu so that it would be easier for the barista. I spoke word for word off the menu, but the barista acted confused and said we don't have that. I said I'm reading the menu and she asked to just describe what I wanted. Guess what? She responded by saying what I was partly thinking in my head, but a full on drink name from Starbucks. Know your own menu, Mad Coffee. Finally, the drink itself was disgusting. It tasted like water with a drop of coffee flavoring you'd get in those squeezable containers at the grocery. I forced myself to drink half since I paid an arm and a leg for it, but couldn't finish it. Honestly, I think this place has potential. I believe they take too much effort in making the place presentable, which is good, but fail to provide what the entire establishment was built for: coffee. Seriously, I could make better coffee using a Bunn coffee maker.

Leasha O.

Yelp
This place frustrates me. The location is very convenient and the staff is friendly but the drinks are overpriced and never taste the same. It's like each person has their own recipe. I like the Carmel Frappe. It cost me $7 and some change for just the medium!! Price has actually gone up twice now since they opened and the drink NEVER taste the same. There have been a handful of times that I have gone and it taste so delicious, other times it's average at best, today my drink taste awful. I order the same thing every time. Not sure why it's never the same. If I am paying over $7 for one drink it needs to be delicious every time. Over all taste is just so inconsistent. I think I'm done wasting my money and hoping each time I like the flavor of what I'm getting.
