Mad Crab

I’m upset cuz I spent $107.00 with this company today 1/14/22 on a seafood boil that I’ve been craving. I specifically asked her can she make sure my corn isn’t soggy (From a past experience from a different restaurant) and is fresh and she told me it’ll be fresh, Just to get a seafood boil with soggy corn and I ordered 4 extra. I love corn and the corn I recieved was so gummy and gross. I truly expected my first experience here to be a good one and it was the opposite. Maybe I have to get my food done-in for it to be fresh cause carry out was not it! Couldn’t even enjoy my food!

This was my first visit to Mad Crab but certainly not the last. The staff was kind, the food was neatly packaged,hot, fresh and very delicious! I ordered the 1/2 lb. snow crab and shrimp with all mixed flavors and it was just right! They have left a lasting impression on my family and I. If you’re looking for the bland-only crab boil, this is NOT for you! Each bag of crab boil is packed with flavorful deliciousness!

Five stars for them. This was my first time eating here. I ordered Lobster, Crab boil and fried catfish and shrimp. We loved the food. Seasoned perfectly! My only suggestion is that you sell the tools to crack and eat the crab. Otherwise, perfect food. Service was decent..

Outstanding food. The employees seem to take their job seriously and are through. I wish they were open for dining inside but until then I'll be a regular getting take out.

My wife and I decided to get carry-out from here on our anniversary dinner. Glad we decided to try it! The food was filling and tasty! The green mussels, shrimp and snow crab are definitely hit and we will be returning very soon! (*Sorry the photo only shows what was leftover from our wonderful meal, too hungry for the before pics LOL!)

Mmmm mmmm good ! Staff are friendly, the portions are great and the selection is wonderful. The price is definitely reasonable. I get 1/2 pound of shrimp and the 1/2 pound of crab with 2 corn and 1 potato. The CORN is so yummy ! Hubby gets the same. Tried the sausage and eggs as well, the eggs are okay and the sausage they cut in more of a thinner slice compared to the the typical 2 inch or bigger pieces of sausage that’s commonly used. It’s wayyy Better, soaks up all the juices. We’ve only ever had the seasoning that is all of them mixed mild.I took pictures but it’s so delicious I always forget till it’s too late and it is not picture worthy. This was the 3rd time we have eaten here and it is consistent. Highly recommend

The food came fast and fresh. The calamari was crispy and spicy, probably the best thing I tasted from here. I'll be back for more calamari.

The black lady at the counter is very loud, rude and unprofessional. She act likes she owns the place when she is there. I’ve been coming here to almost 2 years and I never have a problem until she is there. Also it takes longer to get your food when the black lady is there. She is nasty. Her nails are long as snakes and the curl. Which is very unsanitary around food.

The food was pretty good for what we went there for. It's a regular crab boil restaurant and the crab were as expected in the bags and it was pretty tasty. We went in on a Wednesday evening and we had the place to ourselves literally. It appeared clean and in good order and the waitress there helping us was very helpful. Overall, I would definitely try this place again.

horrible service wrote little ass note on door to say they were closed with pencil already previously had bad service but i went back bc of ok food

I'm going to get some hate mail for this one.. it was just... OK. I did a boil bag with one pound of headless shrimp, corn, potato and sausage in the bag. I found the combination of sauce in the bag to be just too salty. All the components in the bag were great just the sauce (meh) Not one to let good seafood go to waste, I took the bag back to my kitchen and poured out some of the sauce. I added some juice from a lemon, a little garlic, onion, a dash of smoked paprika and old bay and NOW we have action. If I were to get this again I'd probably stick with just a garlic butter sauce to prevent the salty overload I experienced. This wasn't the worst by far, but Ive had better

One of the best crab boils around! I highly recommend it! Fast service and attentive staff!

This is take out only still. Called ahead with my order. I got the pound crab legs with the "mixed" marinade. The marinade was good and a bit messy/ spicy. Crab done just right, came with hard boiled egg, corn and potatoes. Not bad- need to come back and try more !

I had a craving for seafood and there's nothing better than a seafood boil. The Mad Crab offers a variety of seafood choices including shrimp, lobster tail, crawfish and of course, crab legs. I decided to create my own boil to include a pound of head off shrimp, crawfish, and black mussels. I chose to blend all of their spices together with medium spice level. Customer service was great - still only takeout due to Covid precautions. Even though I ordered there, my food was ready in about 10 minutes. I think it was a tad bit pricey for those 3 items but if they found a way to keep the same quality and lower their prices, I definitely think they would be even more successful.

Yummy buttery garlicky goodness from Mad Crab in Oak Park. I got the lunch special with crawfish and shrimp and it medium spic with garlic butter sauce it had a kick but was so oh so good!! Service was quick restaurant was clean and my order was steaming hot when I arrived. They also sent lots of napkins and gloves with my order which was definitely needed for the buttery goodness!! I gave it 5 because of the taste and freshness of the food!! Wish they would've had drinks displayed because I was looking for that in my rush to get back to the office. Also could've used one of those plastic bibs I walked around with butter garlic drips the rest of the day!! Hehe well worth it.

Great price, quickly prepared order with quality taste. Haven't eaten inside but looks clean. Definitely would recommend

My first time dining at Mad Crab, it was very good. I went with L. at lunchtime and of course no crowd inside, so we felt ok lunching in. L. ordered the crab and shrimp boil in cajun flavor and medium spicy. And, I had shrimp and crawfish boil in garlic butter and mild (because I'm a coward). We both enjoyed it so much that we had to make carryout orders. I've already got plans to go back -- if they keep it up, I might become a real regular.

I ordered Tilapia fish, got home to discover it was Cat fish. I don't like Cat fish at all. I am very disappointed. I called the restaurant to let them know and the "manager" said all she can do is tell the chief and if he say it's Tilapia, that's what she will go by. I know my fish and that fish they sold me was not the fish that I asked for and I'm very dissatisfied. This was my first time eating there and I promise you I will never eat there again.

Amazing!! Hoping this restaurant becomes a community staple. Ate here (currently carry out only) a week and a half after opening, and can't wait to go back! The interior is open, spacious, and beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Snow crab, mussels, and hush puppies were the highlights of the meal.

Everything was clean but the food was very bland and tasteless, the calamari was hard, I only ate a few bites of my seafood boil and promptly dumped it into the trash...never again

Absolutely delicious! Got the boil bag with everything and it did not disappoint! The mixed hot sauce and garlic sauce was killer and we will definitely be making this our new spot for all things seafood boil. Staff was also super friendly and made sure our order was perfect. Looking forward to when they open back up for dine in but it was still just as delicious to eat it at home!

The food is rotten and the staff are nasty. Don't spend your money here. Really dirty inside, too. Wouldn't ever come back.

New favorite restaurant, I love the black mussels in the Cajun sauce. Literally anything you order is great, they even have king crab legs! There's tons of options of seafood and seasoning, nothing around really compares! It's been very busy each time we went, but well worth the wait!

False advertising on their menu for the prices they charged! Today l called back to talk about the poor quantity of the food in my order and this woman hung up the phone! Mad Crab in Oak Park will never get any more business from me and l will never recommend them!

Pro: Food is very good! They are only offering carry out and it was fast and hot. Con: However the young lady at the front collecting payments for pick ups decides who she provides any customer service to on an individual basis obviously. She was very friendly to customer who came behind me but myself not so much for whatever reason little to no acknowledgement and she seemed in a rush as she screamed my total at me while I checked my bag.I would've given 5 stars had the customer service been half as good as the food.

Hit or miss. I've had their food a few times now and it's been pretty good for the most part. I had to return 1 order of crabs because it was over cooked and mushy but they made a fresh order and it was much better.

Have been craving crawfish for forever and decided to order a pound and a half of crawfish with corn and potatoes on DoorDash. Kind of pricey (around $35) but I am definitely not disappointed! I requested Cajun and lemon pepper seasoning with garlic butter on the side. Came in a plastic bag and with a bib which I appreciated. The crawfish were still warm, jumbo and fresh. It was a little more oily than I am used to but I think that only added to the lusciousness. Yummy!

I literally had a foodgasim eating from here. Some of the best seafood I've had in a while. My husband and I are looking forward to ordering again in the future. So freaking good

The only thing that I can tell you about this establishment is, check your order to make sure it is right. I returned my order. I don't appreciate being beaten out of what I have paid for. They refunded my money with no problem.

We had a great dinner from the Mad Crab. Everything in the order was right. They were taking precautions for COVID. The only downside was the fried oysters. I've had them better. We had a combo with a garlic butter sauce with snow crab, crawfish, shrimp, clams. It was all awesome. The fried basket with calamari, shrimp and oysters was all good but the oysters. We could have used some cornbread but they don't have that. All in all, we'll be back. Glad to have this place in the neighborhood.

Holy smokes. This place is a new hidden gem if you love seafood boils or crab legs. Go for butter and garlic and whatever seafood you crave then prepare to have your mind blown. Want to be a superhero at your next tail gate or pot luck? Get 2lbs of oysters in garlic and butter, buy a loaf of bread, and watch the stampede after you simply dump it into a big bowl. Crab legs were very very good. High quality meat, decent price, worth every penny. Excited to try the king crab legs next time. Oysters are to die for. A hidden gem.

Ordered Calamari it was so rubbery, overcooked. Gave me soy sauce for the dip. I will never order or eat at that place again. When i called the person who answered sounded bored.

I absolutely love this place. Have been coming here for about 2 years and every single time it gets better and better. However sometimes when I get all the spices mixed together the butter can be much but nothing like dipping your seafood in that delicious juice. Also the workers are always welcoming and I don't think I will ever find another place to order my seafood from again! 10/10 recommend this place if you want to get seafood in a bag and don't know where to go. It is a little pricey but hey it's seafood it ain't cheap no matter the place you go to. If it's cheap...RUN! Just not say from this place :)

The workers here are very rude. My boyfriend and I walked in to place an order at exactly 9:00 pm(website states they close at 11) and were told in a very rude tone that we can't place an order since it is after 9:00. The guy was just super rude and didn't care about how he talked to us. He said "we have to go home", like we were not there at exactly 9 pm. I did not enjoy the way I was talked to and I guess I will never try this place because I don't enjoy the lack of customer service and rudeness I experienced at this establishment. Work on your customer service before you push that this is "a great new restaurant". Smh

I order from here faithfully, tonight I arrived at 8:40pm they advertise that they close at 9:30. I forgot my mask, ran back to the car and run back, A young lady turns the open sign off and comes out and to tell me they take their last order at 8:30pm. Why advertise a false time or was I just turned away? Safe to say I won't be returning ever.

The food was not cooked well and the taste was bland at best . Extremely disappointed

Brand new, beautiful place. Only carry out for now. Great friend oysters and excellent fries--not greasy. Oysters were fresh tasting. I lie far away so may not be back soon but after trying other dishes my rating may go to 5. Very much worth a visit.

Very bad customer service the man working there should be in the back not around customers. He very rude and Offensive. Although the food was good I wouldn't recommend or come back to this establishment.

This place is awesome. Great food and great service. The guy with the D hat is nice and talkative. I know this guy. Friendly and and respective. I saw some people left bad reviews. Don't believe them and try it out yourself and you will find out the truth. Some people are just NOT happy about everything. The one says on their website it says the restaurant closes at 11PM. I have never seen that on any of their websites before.

Food was tasty and delicious. Menu has wide array of selection for everyone who loves boiled or fried seafoods. Fairly priced too! Definitely recommendable to family and friends.

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! My order was wrong and they were argumentative and rude when it came to solving the issue. They neglected to put an item in my bag that was on my receipt and I paid for. I feel they based their reaction on me being African American. When I asked for my money back, at first they refused until I became extremely angry and refused to accept that. Finally they gave me my money back instead of just giving me the item that was missing while their order taker, another African American, consistently told them that my order was wrong and missing an item. Also the food didn't look good. DON'T GO THERE!
