Very disappointing experience at Mad For Cheesecake. The menu is extremely limited, and despite seeing a review calling the “double chocolate cheesecake to die for,” I didn’t even get the chance to try anything I originally came for. I wanted the Japanese cheesecake and a few slices of different flavors just to sample them, but the cashier told me they don’t have sliced cakes and would not cut any because it was “late in the afternoon.”
I ended up getting a full chocolate cheesecake — not cheap at $22 for a very small cake — since that was the only option. When we got home and cut into it, it was frozen solid. Anyone who understands cheesecakes knows that freezing a fluffy cheesecake completely ruins the texture, and sure enough, once it defrosted it turned into a messy mush.
If you’re going to sell frozen cheesecakes, at least warn customers. They clearly don’t understand what they’re serving or simply don’t care. Drove all the way from El Cajon for this and honestly wish I hadn’t. Very disappointing.
