Pretty chill place with great burgers. The Bacon Jammer was fantastic and it all starts with the perfectly charred burger. The fried jalapenos and bacon jam tie this all together, but the meat is the star, great crust and perfectly seasoned. Second time here and they always treat you well.

Google
We’ve visited twice now and love the place! We’ve tried a few apps, but motz bites are great, pizza is fresh, and we can’t wait to try more!

Mark Rudd

Google
This is a nice place, with cool vibes and some nice paintings on the walls. Service is good. They have a nice selection of their own beer which is below average, and a good number of guest taps. I did not try the food, but lots of other people were and it looked good.

Alexandria Pecor

Google
We went here exclusively because of the name of the Brewery but stayed because the drinks and food were delicious! They have some really fun food options, we tried a goat cheese PB & j burger and it was super good, but I believe they change up their menu every so often, another hit was the Macaroni, and the jalapeno bacon jammin' burger and the fried pickles 🤤 if you love fried pickles like we do then you won't be disappointed ordering them here! We tried some of their brews they had on tap and they were good! (I'm not a beer drinker but I brought two beer lovers with me to try!) They also have a large selection of other beer favorites for you to choose from! Also, we loved how friendly and kind the staff were with our kids! Friendly staff is always a bonus! Overall we enjoyed our time and will be back to try more of their beer & food! Tip: they have a kids menu but you have to ask them for it as it's not on their menu which is digital.

Google
Bring back the Haze! Looking forward to that being back on the menu, one of my favorites. I do enjoy the rotation of taps. The Patty Melt is glorious, keep that available please! Like the ease of viewing the menu via QR code as it changes with each visit. All of the staff is fantastic and a pleasure to visit with. Highly recommend. Cheers.

Google
The beer is amazing. Food is absolutely stellar. Went here with a group and was just blown away by the food, drinks, and service. Would highly recommend. Burgers, steak, and appetizers are just simply epic. Would come back to here again whenever in San Antonio.

Google
I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and they didn't disappoint. The pizza clearly was made from scratch and the sauce was house made and delicious. The mac and cheese was great as well. The cheese sauce tasted like a beer cheese sauce. The chicken sandwich was a bit overcooked but it still tasted good. My wife said she wasn't a fan of the batter of the fish and chips but thought the fish was flaky and delicious. She also thought the fried pickles were amazing. I'll definitely be trying this place again but at the location because it looks amazing and I want to try their brews.

Google
Great atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent drinks! First time visit and we will be back for sure. So many menu options we'd like to try.

Yelp
Dear Jason, First of all, Tabitha is amazing we love her so much. Seriously, continue to take care of her, she is WONDERFUL. Second of all, we love your brewery and come at least once a week to hangout, eat the amazing food and drink the beers. We would love it EVEN MORE if you would consider bringing back Left Hand Mexican hot chocolate and Belching Beavers peanutbutter chocolate stout. Sincerely, Cassidy, a frequenter and local

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Excited to try a new brewery and Mad Pecker did not disappoint! We started out with the friend mushrooms and friend pickles. The spicy ranch that comes with both dishes was tasty with the right amount of spice! We ordered the Meaty Pecker pizza and you could tell the toppings were fresh! Everything was delicious. The service was amazing. They had all the games going on the tv's throughout the restaurant. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Back in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and a friend recommended we meet at Mad Pecker for drinks & dinner. I haven't been to this spot in 7 years according to help..f*ck I'm old. Anyway, the place is much like I remember: a small little pub with plenty of seating. The bartenders are friendly and the food was pretty good. It had a Cheers-like atmosphere because all the people in the place knew my friends. It seems like a pub that has regulars. I kind of like the vibe. Super friendly people, decent pub food, and good beer. What more do you need? Great spot if you're on/near the far west side of San Antonio. Sort of hidden off the main highways but that just means that on a Friday night it wasn't crowded at all. Happy to recommend.

Alexis S.

Yelp
Came here for a meal and drink after a long day. Service was okay, took a lot of time to come to us on several occasions and there wasn't that many people. The beer selection was subpar. The vibes were okay, the music helped. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich and said it was overly greasy so he could barely eat it. The only reason why I'm giving this a 3 star is for the ambiance and the cheese bites! Those were spectacular!

Laura F.

Yelp
The service was good and I liked how huge the portion of the Madchos, even though I got the half order. Nice ambiance during a football game but not too crazy.

Scott L.

Yelp
I'll admit without the cool name, I'd never visit. And, even then, not at night, as it's in a small strip mall, with massage parlor and maybe a tattoo place. It's not the establishment's fault that Texas isn't friendlier for Al Fresco Dining and I was outside with my three dogs sweating in % HUMIDITY and no less a swarm of flies than descended to plague Pharos' Egypt whilst gobbling down excellent fried pickles and guzzling a couple of nice Mexican style ales before insects carried too much away Service was prompt and friendly. I may even say sympathetic. We all wished I could come inside. Instead, I ordered Hawaiian Pizza to go. Crust was good, but toppings seemed skimpy and carelessly applied (see photo).

Venessa Y.

Yelp
Tabitha ALWAYS does an excellent job! Great food, service, vibe, and atmosphere. We have been a loyal family since their opening and will continue to be. Highly recommend! (P.S. Maple bacon wings are a MUST!!!!)

Wendy W.

Yelp
Thank you to my fellow Houston elites your reviews! That's how we settled on this place. I was a little hesitant when we pulled up, it's located on the end of a shady looking strip mall type thing. We walked in and right away you know the owner is a hip hop lover. Especially the homage to MF DOOM. I don't drink beer, but that's why most come here probably. The menu looked super enticing too. I ordered the bacon Mac and cheese for the table. It was beyond salty, but I love salt. Idk if it's usually that salty, it was a bit much. The mushroom burger was good and the fries were the bomb. I love crispy fries. The Astros game was on for baseball lovers like me! Go 'Stros. Our waiter was super friendly. Just a good all round vibe going on. Bar seating, high tops and a regular tables. Also seating outside. All types of patrons. Folks there for the game, couples, families. You name it. When in the area, I'd definitely hit up again!

Joey A.

Yelp
The food here was delicious. It just took forever to get appetizers and the food as well. I ordered fried pickles which were good and came with spicy ranch with option of regular ranch. I ordered the messy pecker fries and they were amazing! Everything was cool they had football playing its more of a bar setting than a food restaurant, I'll probably come back again maybe.

Jasmine G.

Yelp
Service was okay and quick. Food was AMAZING. best fries I've had in a really long time.

Brittany W.

Yelp
THANK YOU, BENJAMIN! Absolutely excellent service! There were two different burgers that sounded delicious, so I combined them into one burger and freaking delicious! Fried pickles were great and the kids pizzas are pretty big... probably around 10". So glad we found this place on a whim. Great place to grab a brew and a burger.

Alexandria P.

Yelp
Great vibe in here. Great service and the beer is next level. Food is likewise very good. Wings are huge, and there are many flavors available, and I haven't had a bad one yet. Also, this is actually a great place to watch sports, plenty of TV's and a very accommodating staff. Blue Plate winner for kitchen cleanliness.

Toby H.

Yelp
Very good atmosphere. Had their pizza, and pretzels. Great beer collection, had sports playing which I liked.

Christina K.

Yelp
First time here, great service and Tabitha was amazing! The vibe is chill and inviting. We will be back with friends!

Liz B.

Yelp
Went in for an early dinner. No one was there except a couple of people at the bar. Fried mushroom appetizer was good but very greasy; it was served with a spicy ranch dressing that tasted like Hidden Valley salsa ranch. Chicken sandwich was good, hot and tasty. Cheeseburger was bland but fries were hot, greasy and good. Probably won't return.

Rod J.

Yelp
Great food, service and beer. The wings are HUGE !!! The beer is good and cold- had Both a Stout and IPA , the Habanero wings, fried dill pickle chips! Jordyn was my server and she was excellent!

Xavier C.

Yelp
Located in the vibrant Northwest San Antonio, Mad Pecker Brewing is a heavenly oasis for beer aficionados. Nestled amidst the bustling streets, this divine brewery offers an unparalleled selection of brews fit for the gods themselves. From crisp lagers to bold IPAs, each sip is a transcendental experience. The ambiance is as inviting as the beer is exceptional, making every visit a pilgrimage for beer enthusiasts. Whether you're a devout beer connoisseur or simply seeking a taste of perfection, Mad Pecker Brewing delivers a divine experience that leaves you craving more.

William B.

Yelp
Amazing food and beers. Very casual and kind of obscure location. Loved the unpretentiousness and the good food and beer. The Ridge Creek Blonde hopped with belma was a delight. The Ripper with 15% alcohol was dangerously smooth. .No bottled take outs.

Kellie S.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of going to Mad Pecker Brewing for an early dinner. The ambiance was great. Very chill and comfortable with good music. The service was very friendly, enthusiastic, and fast. We shared a half order of Madchos with pulled pork and jalapeños and an order of fried pickles. Then we ordered Jalapeño Bacon Jammin burgers. For drinks I got the Vanilla Bean Hard Cider and my husband got the Breakfast Stout. The Madchos were good. Pretty standard nachos with light and crispy restaurant style chips. The jalapeños were fresh and not pickled. The pickles with spicy ranch were fantastic. The burgers were epic! They were nice and crispy without being thin or dry. A nice balance of what I like between smash burgers and traditional burgers. They are the burgers I've been searching for since I moved to San Antonio years ago. The Vanilla Bean cider was so good. Soft and sweet, it smelled like a cream soda. It's definitely a good gateway drink for those who don't drink often. The Breakfast Ale was pretty strong and tasted like coffee and chocolate. I had a sip and my first thought was that it was a little bitter but quickly settled into "but I like this... wow" I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I wanted to give a 3.5. I'd wanted to visit for a while and finally got my chance. It just happened to be the Saturday before Valentine's Day. I wasn't expecting the setup given the then-upcoming holiday. There was a vendor just outside selling scented candles and the like. Here's what I liked: the jalapeño cheese balls were good by themselves or with the accompanying dip. We (my sons and I) got a half-and-half pizza the was hearty and delicious. I think the prices were fair. Here's what I didn't like: the scented candles' aromas were wafting in and their smells didn't compliment the foods' smells. The very outer edge of the crust was burnt. Like the outermost half inch or so; not enough to ruin the pizza, but enough to not enjoy "the crust". Lastly, just a little pet peeve of mine is when places don't have any form of uniform, even if it's a T-shirt with the location's logo. I don't love the "employees just wearing shorts and whatever shirt they happen to be wearing" vibe. That said, they were friendly and nice. My boys and I all agreed we'd like to come back to try sandwiches and burgers...just maybe not then there's a romance-themed holiday right around the corner.

Yelp
Disappointing, gross, and a bummer. Visiting from Houston and traveling with a small dog, we were interested in a dog friendly brewery that served pizza. 'Dog friendly' as defined by this establishment are 5 wobbly fly-swarmed picnic tables in front of the building. As we approached the entrance, we were stopped by a kind patron who advised that the restaurant was not actually dog friendly and the staff did not like dogs inside of the bar/restaurant. With this in mind, I stayed outside waiting for a table free up. Luckily, the person who told us about the dog policy was leaving, so we scored their table. Otherwise, we'd be SOL. Upon verifying with a server, she confirmed, "Yeah, we don't care for the 'dog thing'. We don't like dogs inside." My husband went inside and scanned a table-top QR code to access the menu, as they do not have tangible menus. We each ordered flat-tasting beer and mediocre pizza. Their pizza tasted the equivalent of a freezer, store-bought pizza. In any case, we couldn't finish our food or beer because, together, our 4 hands swatting at all of the flies were not enough to the let us comfortably consume what we paid for. Once the flies made it into our beer, we left. We're ashamed that we stayed as long as we did - that's on us (LOL). Also, apparently, this not a family friendly place as the staff was overheard EMPHATICALLY agreeing on the idea that families with children should not be allowed to visit restaurants. Weird and unfortunate.

Rose R.

Yelp
Friendly staff & convenient neighborhood location. Sports Bar ambiance with big screens. Food is mostly burgers & fries, which is good. Some specialty items that folks like. Good beer selections, some wine & cocktails. Overall, good place to visit & have a good time.

Hanna D.

Yelp
It's been a few years since I last wrote a review, partly because I moved further away and haven't been back as often as I'd like. But now that I moved close again, it's time for an update. Years have gone by and they're still A+ in my opinion. Great beer, great food, great service, great atmosphere. This time my fiancé and I ordered the poutine and nachos, plus a couple of beers for our Friday night. Not only was it super quick, everything was phenomenal. Hands down one of my favorite places... ever. Will always continue to be back!

Carolina E.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood place with craft beer, tv's to watch sports, kitchen with some good food and live entertainment at times. Owners are very friendly and always agreeable to host groups here. Lots of parking as well. Drop on by.

Monica G.

Yelp
Been awhile since we've been in, but came about 2 weeks ago to watch the basketball game. Sat at the bar and had a good time. I had a flight (don't remember the ones I got) Bartender was very nice and attentive, she was busy but made sure to check on us since we were sitting at the bar. The Spinach artichoke dip was DELICIOUS!!! It stays warm and we asked for more chips as we continued to eat. Love this place, close to the house & good eats

Scott C.

Yelp
Good atmosphere. People are great and friendly that work there. I generally like going to smaller bars and this one is a go. Not a make a special trip go but a go if you're close. Local brewed beers where good, the food that we had which was pizza and chicken sandwiches was good. Nothing spectacular but worth a looky

Michelle S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a beer and also had there version of jalepeno poppers! Beer and food was very tasty. The bartender was very friendly and welcoming.

Deb P.

Yelp
Food was ok fries were burnt. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was a weird smell. Service was fine. Not interested in going back

Dorie B.

Yelp
This is obviously a regular haunt for us. They never fail. The rotation of beer is nice, there's always something new to try. The burgers and pizza are always solid. The spinach and artichoke dip is a favorite and the messy pecker fries are my comfort food in times of crisis. The servers are always sweet and the atmosphere is laid back. They have pub quiz and music bingo on certain nights too. Couldn't be any better for a neighborhood bar.

Adrian R.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. Been here a few times and it keeps getting better. Had several times of pizza, and all have been great - not too saucy or too much meat, perfect pizza balance. All the apps are solid as well. We decided for fried pickles and it was delicious. The place has a great feeling to it, very laid back and chill. The service was quick and she was attentive to our orders.

Brandon S.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend. Tabitha was an amazing server and made sure our needs were attended to in a timely manner. nothing was too quick or too low. It allowed us to have great conversation and enjoy our food/beer. This brewery has a quiet calming atmosphere, the music is enjoyable and blends into the conversational background. I highly recommend the Mad Pecker for some great beer, food, and atmosphere!

Tina G.

Yelp
It was an excellent experience. Initially I found out about mad pecker at a beer festival with my boyfriend and thought to try it out. Entering the place was great, the music isn't blaring, it's relaxing and nice. Our server Tabitha was amazing, she was kind and attentive. The beer was awesome, she provided samples and made sure to double check our preferences. The food was also very good what a nice time

Tina R.

Yelp
I've tried to like this place, and I've given it three different chances and every time the food comes out and it's either cold or gross.. Not to mention that you almost have to flag down the server if you need anything else. This place needs a major overhaul, it's like a dirty dive bar, but a restaurant. Don't recommend!! Will not be giving a fourth chance.

Sherry M.

Yelp
No stars if I could. Really cool concept on this side of town but this place is lacking SO MUCH. you walk in and have no idea if you're supposed to seat yourself. Don't bother asking questions about the menu when one of the waitstaff finally approaches, she'll just tell you to scan the menu & she'll be back. After you've navigated their 19th century wordpad menu you still need to flag her back down anyway. We ordered 2 beers and asked if their fried mushrooms were fresh or frozen. Her response was "Fresh" in the most unappetizing way to speak to another human that I've ever encountered in my life. I thought we were being pranked the entire time we were there, this spot is a joke. Created my Yelp account just for this review. Extremely underwhelmed

Liz D.

Yelp
Best food, best beer, best company. i have been a loyal customer for 5 years and it has never disappointed! I love the Pecker!

Gene S.

Yelp
I've been enjoying Mad Pecker since way before Covid. Living in the neighborhood make it my go-to for a pint of excellent house-made beer and a tasty bite from the back. While the bar always has a wide variety of craft beers, I stick to the house mostly - Cosmic Rye, Cool Pool, Bitter Soul, and the Ripper are some of my favorites. Service is always top-notch - even when I sit outside with my fearsome Shih-Tzu, Biggie Smalls.

Dylan Q.

Yelp
I'm not going to lie overall I'm pretty disappointed by this place because I was expecting more. The food was awful and the beers tasted kind of flat. I will say the service and atmosphere was much better than the food and drinks. With that being said I probably won't be returning any time soon.

Dani M.

Yelp
I have tried several burgers in SA but boy this one was surprisingly outstanding! This mouth watering burger was a day party for my mouth! Lol! Went with the Jalapeño Bacon Jammin burger and it did not disappoint! The meat was juicy and so flavorful! They make their own bbq sauce which awakens up your tastebuds like none other! The fried pickles were so Crispín good and the sauce was on point! Can't wait to come back to try more menu!

Frank M.

Yelp
Good food good ambience, we had the "Jalapeno Bacon Jammin'" it is AWESOME, a must try‼

Donovan T.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. They have the best service. The food is so on point and the beer is great that they brew. They also carry other beers on tap that they call guest taps. So they don't lock you in to just there iq of beer. It's a local neighborhood bar that doesn't make people feel unwelcome. If you walk in you feel like one of the regulars.

Darlene U.

Yelp
Food and drinks were great! Definitely try the Meaty Pecker. Service was awesome, ask for Rebecca.

Felix S.

Yelp
Great wings, Attentive Staff, MF Doom Murals and a large selection of craft beers! There's also the option of outside seating.

Karmen K.

Yelp
We're so excited to have this cool spot right in the neighborhood. We arrived during happy hour and scored a good deal on some tasty burgers. We also got a flight of their hoppy beers. Customer service was awesome- super friendly and helpful.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
It is a decent looking place in a bad part of town. It looks like a dive bar. When we went it was seat yourself but in a very empty restaurant. A lot of tables were reserved. Never did get to try the food. Husband and I left due to them having no menus and still relying on outdated QR codes for menus. It's amazing a place like this cannot even have a paper menu. The waitress stated she could tell me what's on the menu would not recommend.

DeVon P.

Yelp
I go for the food Aaron is an amazing chef Tabitha was our waitress and she's very personable and attentiv.

Allyson W.

Yelp
We came for dinner on a Monday and were greeted right away. They put some tables together for us since we had a large party and it's a pretty small place. They have a good beer selection and it was $2 off appetizers. We ordered fried mushrooms, a pretzel and fried cheese sticks. They all were good and the pizza looked good too. Good selection, nice staff and the place was clean. They didn't bring us silverware with the food and our waters kept running out but other than that, great place to watch a game and hang out with friends.

Mia V.

Yelp
Small and chill food is pretty good and beer selection is great great neighborhood stop if your not feeling to fancy vibes are casual

Elexia C.

Yelp
food was okay but the service was trash. I had Jordan (the girl with purple hair) I heard her talking about a customer that obviously heard her too and how she hated working at the brewery like if you don't like working there why are you there? It made no sense. Very unprofessional. The beer was amazing tho just the vibe with some of the bartenders was off. Coming from one brewery bartender to another usually the community is very friendly and nice this was just awful experience all around. I will not be returning.
