I had high hopes for this place. It is walking distance from our house and MIMO really needs a good breakfast place.
The good: It's a cool space, nice location, good vibe and server was great.
The bad: The food. There were few redeeming qualities. In fact, it was the worst food experience I've had in a long time. Not only would I not recommend eating here, I highly recommend avoiding the food.
My wife ordered the avocado toast ($16) and I am 95% confident the "avocado" was simply store bought guacamole spread thinly on a piece of toast sprinkled with seeds. 2/10
My son ordered the pancakes which had lemon in them, not mentioned on the menu and were very dry. The server was kind enough to offer a replacement so he ordered a medium rare burger. The burger arrived 20 minutes later cooked "extra well done." We took it to go and promptly discarded it when we got home. 1/10
I ordered the Eggs Benedict which, according to the menu, (and tradition) is supposed to be served on an english muffin. Mine came on a bagel. Eggs were perfectly cooked and the sauce had good flavor but c'mon!? A bagel? 5/10
I also ordered a side of sausage. Inedible. It was store bought precooked sausage, recooked and forgotten about on the burner b/c it was dry. And, it's hard to dry out chemically laden, store bought sausage.
Maybe, just maybe, their business can survive on the motel guests willing to overpay for bad food b/c it is convenient. But, if they want to thrive, they need locals (there are many!) to support them. And with the current chef/management/quality I suspect it will not be around much longer.
Note to chef: I understand the need to maximize your margins. However, if you use low quality ingredients, charge premium prices yet customers do not return; are you really better off?
