We went for brunch and had a great experience. We were visiting out of town and it was the perfect spot. They have breakfast food and sandwiches. The staff was great and helpful in making our food selections. When the food arrived it was hot, exactly how we ordered it and delicious! Very great experience on vacation.

If you're looking for a place to relax for a while, you can stop by here. I had been looking for an area where I could find a good smoothie for a while. I've visited this restaurant twice and I loved it. Great food and excellent service. Damaris, the young woman who served me, is top-notch. So don't think twice and stop here... Yes, I know the facade represents a ranch, but when you enter, you will be surprised.

Google
Had a great breakfast and my friend had a great salad. Zero complaints. Friendly staff, large seating area but still quiet enough to chat. Food came out quick. Fair prices. Got potatoes and pancakes with my omelette.

First time here. Was very impressed. Would come back. It was mid-morning on a Thursday. They were busy but not packed. Got seated right away, and our server checked in with us. The server was super good. The waters, beverages, and food were all delivered in efficiency and warm smiles. Thanks Abby! We got a Breakfast Burrito and the Home Made Yogurt. Everything was hot, flavorful, and good portions. The yogurt was especially good, with sliced almonds and just the right amount of honey drizzle. Definitely would put this on this list of excellent breakfast places.

Google
I could write a novel about this place but we all know this is one of the best places for breakfast in the city. I've tried just about everything on this menu and everything is over the top. I could honestly eat here every day of the week. The service is fantastic, the food is always perfect, the restaurant itself is cool! Very farm and rustic kind of feel. I never have turned down stopping here for brunch.

We went to Mad Rooster for a brunch experience that was really something else! We had a good experience using the waitlist. You can’t make reservations, but the waitlist allows you to get in right when you get there. Just make sure you do the right location! Our waitress is very helpful and gave us good recommendations. We brought our baby along, and it was easy to sit here in the booth, although they did provide a stand for her car seat as well. The crêpe burrito was unique, cinnamon, and eggy all in one. The sopas were a little spicy, but also very good, as were the loaded potatoes with feta. But the start of the show was the Montecristo, delicious French toast, fried and cornflakes to make an amazing sandwich. For nothing else, that was worth the trip. We would definitely come back to mad rooster!

Super tasty food!! Wonderful flavors and combinations! The biscuits and gravy are amazing and then to top it with the awesomely juicy and tender corned beef... so good. The service here is always friendly and professional. Awesome place!

Google
I went there for my first time Saturday and what an awesome place for breakfast or lunch! The food and service were amazing! I am always on the lookout for interesting and unusual cuisine, so I ordered the Shakshuka, which did not disappoint. I loved it! Our waitress was an absolute joy -- so friendly and positive. We also did not have to wait for anything -- to get our order taken, food, or bill. Beware that this is a very popular place --and for good reason --so you will have most likely have to wait for a table, but it's well worth the wait. One of the owners even came around and talked to us, and she was just as lovely as our waitress. And last but not least, order the yogurt. It's actually handmade and comes drizzled in honey and with berries and granola. All in all, a very pleasant experience ☺️!

Yelp
Omg-love this place and will definitely be back-highly recommend! The service was wonderful, we got there at a great time and was seated immediately. When we left there was a line out the door and the inside waiting area was packed. The menu was great, lots of amazing options which made it hard to pick! We ordered the Mad Bloody-it was SO GOOD-loved the deviled egg on top. I ordered the avocado, salmon Benedict with upgraded potatoes. Portions were huge. The potatoes alone could have been a meal-absolutely loved them. Ended up saving them and having it for breakfast the next day. The food was truly outstanding, unique and service was top notch. Highly recommend and will be back. Service was great and restaurant was clean.

Yelp
This is a really popular place, and rightly so. But as a Gluten Free person, I want to give a special review of the Greek Yogurt. I ordered the Greek Yogurt with honey and walnuts, and it was the best yogurt I have ever tried. I mean really amazing! The portion size was huge, too, so don't hesitate to order this if you need a filling full meal. (I was worried that I would leave hungry, so I added a side order of crispy bacon, and that was great too. The strips were crisp enough to snap like a cracker without being burnt. Lovely.) I ended up not being able to finish my whole serving, but it wasn't for lack of trying. It was just a big serving! Everyone I know sings the praises of this place. Because I'm not able to eat pancakes, toast, etc, and I'm really not that fond of eggs, I've given this place a pass in the past. Now I'm ready to go back and get more of that Greek Yogurt. Thick, custard-y, delicious!

Yelp
Great food - wish I'd had time to enjoy it. Despite the busyness of the weekend and with it being Father's Day and a graduation weekend, as a group of two we were seated rather quickly. We submitted our names for the waitlist about 45min ahead of our arrival. We received a text about five minutes after checking in our table was ready. After being seated we were asked for our drink order (water and a coffee) which was brought back within a minute and then hurriedly asked what we wanted to order. At this point we'd been there less than 1 minute - and yes we checked. They have water and coffee stations close by so it's not as if beverages we ordered had to be brought in from the back of the kitchen. With so little time to look, and it being our first visit, we asked for another moment to look. She promptly returned and asked our order. Instead of being asked which side we wanted from the menu, we were asked to decide between two. Before we could say how we wanted our eggs, she asked only if we wanted them over-hard instead of how we wanted them. We already felt so rushed and it really set off our visit to be unpleasant from the start. Mind you, at this point all three tables around us were seated and had been served before we even sat down - just to set a clock. Our order was brought out about 10 minutes later. In the interim the server brought out ketchup, for what I don't know but we just figured it was commonly asked for here. We were about halfway through our meal when we were asked if we wanted boxes by a different server. Partially put off by this, but we graciously accepted as the portions are huge here! The menu offered a lot of variety without being overwhelming and felt very fair in regard to its pricing. The original server then returned with our check (to-go boxes weren't back yet). Shortly after the boxes arrived with a bag to contain them. We finished noshing a bit as my spouse finished their coffee. It was at this point I truly lost my patience and cool for how we were being treated. All three tables around us were still eating and enjoying themselves as we attempted to ourselves. The server returned as I began to box my leftovers. Before I knew it she took away my plate before I could finish dispersing my leftovers to the box and THEN proceeded to take the silverware OUT of my hands. I was so taken aback by this I had no time to even register words to say. We finished tidying our table and not needing the bag for leftovers I put it toward the edge of the table to be collected with the rest of our things. She left and returned shortly to close out our check. Finding the bag at the edge of the table she quickly snatched it up, balled it up and put it directly in front of me. Really didn't understand the adamance that I take the stupid bag that I didn't need. And again, all three tables around us are still enjoying themselves and eating their meals in peace. With both of us having restaurant/kitchen backgrounds we're always very kind and patient with staff at establishments we visit because we totally get it. And we're never setting out to be problem children. Heck, we wouldn't have had a chance to if we wanted to this visit with such little contact with the service. I know it's easy to look at these reviews and think they're subjective and that we must've been doing something poorly in order to receive this service, but we were truly surprised by why everything was handled so curtly and why we were treated so poorly. Her attitude wasn't exactly crass or mean but I didn't appreciate being rushed through everything when we didn't do anything to warrant a swift removal. So to pare this all down, we were seated at 11a, and we left the table by 11:27a. All three tables around us were still present and being served.

Yelp
I was a little bit disappointed . I felt rushed . They were very subtle . The food was fine. It was crowded and busy. You can put your name on the wait list! It is casual . I like the Kenosha one much better . I tried this one a couple of times before with a better experience so I am not sure

Yelp
Nom nom! Portions are always plentiful and when I eat here I'm full all day. Service is consistent. Love there is a parking lot. I can see huge groups enjoying it here too.

Yelp
I found this spot on Yelp and had to give it a try. The aesthetic was great and I loved the atmosphere. The service was amazing and our server Hershay was extremely helpful and polite to us! The food was good and I particularly enjoyed the chicken chorizo reds! I also enjoyed their sunrise mimosas. Definitely would recommend if your a local or visiting the area!

Yelp
I always rave about the brunch here. One of my girlfriends and I were looking for somewhere to eat one morning and we drove past here! The granola pancakes, red potatoes, and mimosas were so delicious. I will say that we also tried the cinnamon crunch French toast and I a huge fan. It was cold, and kinda tough to eat overall so we left that alone. The service was great, as always. The staff is so friendly.

Yelp
You can assume that the inside is farm themed and it is! Very cozy and lots of space. My family and I have been many times. With about 15, 8, and 5 people. Making a reservation is easy and we've always been seated rather quickly. Every waiter and server we've had has always exceeded our expectations! The food tastes great! I love their mimosas! Their potatoes are amazing!!! And I always like how they make their eggs. My most recent order was the stuffed French toast and it was so good, the cream was a Bavarian cream and it complemented the bread and fruits very well. I can't remember if this was a half or full order (sorry) but either one is worth it for me. Prices are similar to most breakfast places nowadays.

Yelp
Spicy chicken and waffles So this place does have parking, but it can be a little difficult. You will have to wait for a table, they do have a sitting area. The only thing I didn't like was our seating. Yes, there are only two of us. However, I do not like the tiny two person booths when eating a meal with multiple plates and beverages. The place was busy. Not so much that we should not have seen our server more than we did.

Turqoise W.

Yelp
The food and the service was great!! The drink selection was also amazing for our breakfast/brunch!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
One look at the fruit lets you know immediately that this place is different! I mean, who does pomegranate, blackberries, or mandarins anymore?!? Denver omelet was loaded with ham and veggies, huge, and super filling with multiple flavors in every bite.

Yelp
WOWOWOWOWOWOW OK SO REAL TALK. I don't live in WI anymore, I moved to NC. And there are a few things I deeply miss and have when I go to visit: one, a massive Bloody Mary. I don't drink anymore so I aimed my brunch pick on a photo of a bloody with a deviled egg. Boy did I choose well. From the moment we walked in until we left: impeccable service. Quick delivery, kind waiter, and friendly but not TOO friendly. All of our food and drinks came quickly, even though the restaurant was busy-ish for a Saturday morning. Vibes were great! Not too loud and just the right amount of buzz. My dad got eggs, pancakes, fruit and chicken sausage: everything was great! I, the foodie, first enjoyed my tangy and zesty Bloody Mary and toppings. Mmmmm spicy and perfect! They make yogurt in house and after a lot of eggs earlier in the week, I wanted fruit too. The Mad Style Yogurt was BOMB: creamy, fresh fruit, DELICIOUS banana bread! And the Mad Reds were excellent: well seasoned and perfectly cooked. My only complaint was that I assumed there wouldn't be a half of jalapeno on the potatoes...and I popped it in my mouth and nearly died. That one is on me, and while I can handle spice, I don't recommend it at 9am. Go forth and go Mad Style!

Yelp
We have ordered take out from here many times but finally decided to sit in today and I am so happy we did. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the spicy chicken and waffles and I would have to say this is one of the best in Milwaukee. Hershay waited on us and he was one of the highlights of our experience. Very caring and always checking in with us. If you want one of the best places for breakfast in Milwaukee look no further.

Yelp
Pros: The service and food Cons: I suspect it can get busy Details: Another Yelp recommendation that was great. We went here on our visit to Milwaukee and on our drive out to Madison. It is really close to the stadium. The food is mexican/american style, at least for breakfast when we went. The space is pretty big, but I can imagine it gets busy. We were most impressed with the service. The food was great, really high quality and not insanely expensive. I can see us making this a typical stop when visiting town. The portions were large. We tried, but none of us were able to completely clear our plates.

Yelp
My husband and I chose to celebrate a small milestone with brunch at Mad Rooster and we were so happy with this decision! It had been years since I had actually been at Mad Rooster, usually opting for takeout instead due to how crowded the restaurant gets and how long the wait times are. The key for us on this Sunday morning was joining the waitlist via Yelp before we even left our house and timing our arrival to coincide with what the waitlist said. Once we got to the restaurant, we still waited about 10 minutes, but it was much better than people who joined the list at the restaurant. Once we were seated, we had swift service. We got water immediately and our waitress checked on us a couple times (but not in a rushing way) to get our orders. I got the seasonal sangria and my husband enjoyed a Peach Bellini. Both were very good and I would easily get both of them again as summery fruity brunch cocktails. For brunch, I am a total savory meal with a sweet side and thank God my husband is willing to go along with this! He got a breakfast burrito with a side of fries, I got the chilaquiles with a side of baby red potatoes, and got a full serving Nutella banana crepes to share between us. The crepes were OUTSTANDING - filled to the brim with Nutella and bananas and a side of whipped cream. They're plenty sweet on their own, but I liked them a lot with some syrup as well which came out warm! My husband liked his burrito, which I didn't try. But the seasoning on the fries he got were very good! My chilaquiles were fantastic - some chips were crispy and some were more loaded with toppings. The flavor was definitely there. The over medium eggs were perfectly cooked with a slightly runny yolk. The baby red potatoes were equally delicious with a little more salt that I added.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp and wanted to eat some breakfast before the Brewers/Cubs game this afternoon. Menu has a wide variety of breakfast items so there is a lot to choose from. T had the Greek omelette with fruit and pancakes. The fruit was sweet and fresh and the omelette was delicious. I had the pigs in a blanket. The sausage was excellent with just enough spice to balance the syrup for the pancakes the butter was whipped and easy to spread, not cold and impossible. The service was excellent and the food came out fast. They do Waitlist, so you know how long the wait is going to be. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a nice, cozy spot for breakfast.

Yelp
Many options on this menu along with GF pancakes which I can hardly find! A perfect stop on our way through Milwaukee for a baseball game. Service at Mad Rooster is attentive and personable, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is bustling yet relaxed, making it ideal for both casual outings and special occasions. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Mad Rooster is a brunch spot that promises a memorable culinary adventure.

Yelp
Sophia took amazing care of us. The food was really good: country fried pork chop, enchiladas, chilaquilas! Used the online waitlist and walked right in on Mother's Day! Really cool decor.

Chris W.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! The food is so delicious! I have tried multiple items on the menu and have never been disappointed! The food comes out looking beautiful too! Yum!
google avatar

Jennifer Q.

Yelp
Breakfast with my parents. I got the wildberry crunch pancakes, my mom got the mad morning tacos, & my dad got the española omelette; very sweet, very savory, very filling! The place has a country barn style, perfect for the breakfast scene.

Sue E.

Yelp
Food excellent as always. Olena G. Was an exceptional server. Dining room noise level fine and has delightful decor. Bathroom clean:)
google avatar

Rina P.

Yelp
Country vibe. Clean. Spacious. Really great food. The baby red potatoes are worth the potential 30 min wait. Everything tastes like it was made from scratch and comes out super quick. In addition to the typical breakfast/brunch food, I even had a super yummy mango peach smoothie. If you're going on a weekend, make a reservation.

Melanie L.

Yelp
I had the Monte Cristo sandwich with mixed fruit. The bread on the sandwich wasn't enjoyable at all. It was soaked in something then fried. The fruit wasn't ripe-very hard. I was disappointed with the quality. The service was very good and the place was clean.
google avatar

Manny R.

Yelp
Definitely recommend trying the chilequiles!! Everything is fresh and tastes very good. The waiters were nice and fast, and able to accommodate for speaking spanish if needed.
google avatar

Kristie A.

Yelp
Fantastic choice for brunch! Still a solid five stars for incredible food and great service. Before you arrive, I recommend to jump on the waitlist, located on their website, to shorten your onsite wait time. Even if you try to avoid carbs, make an exception here and do not miss their baby red potatoes "mad reds"!! I don't maintain a top ten list for best bacon in the region but, if I did, Mad Rooster would be solidly on that list.
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
I came here with a friend because we wanted eggs benedict. I got the salmon and avocado eggs benedict. It looked amazing, but sadly the eggs were way overcooked. The whole point of eggs benedict is to have egg yolk and hollandaise soak everything in the dish. It was super disappointing because the other elements of the dish were good. If I can poach eggs at home just fine, a professional should be able to too.

Yelp
After having bad luck with food two nights in a row.We decided to give this place a try. Being from chicago, finding good food anytime we travel is always a mission. When we saw that there were large groups of people waiting outside, we knew this place wasn't going to disappoint!! I had the MAD omelette with fruit and pancakes, my partner got the steak Ranchera both were amazing. We also shared the Crispy-Crunchy Cinnamon french toast, we honestly could have gone without. They were a bit too crunchy for us, delicious but not of fav. Our server was amazing!! So friendly, nice and upbeat!! Can't wait to visit again!!

Yiting K.

Yelp
Fast, efficient service. Came on a busy Saturday morning and only waited less than 5min. Food was delicious and the fruit medley was fresh quality fruit. Pancakes were fluffy, shashuka was satisfying and service was great. Thank you
google avatar

Patti O.

Yelp
We stopped in here for breakfast on our way back home to Chicago. It was pretty crowded for a Sunday morning, but our party of 2 was seated immediately (more of a wait for larger parties). Service was friendly and attentive & the food was great. I was actually a little overwhelmed with the menu because there were so many choices that I couldn't decide! The ambiance both inside and outside was also super cute. We'll be back.
google avatar

Patti G.

Yelp
Went in on a Sunday 10 am -met 2 girlfriends for breakfast/brunch. This restaurant is ALWAYS busy. Do yourself a favor and add yourself to the wait list available here on Yelp. That worked fantastically for us. Very pleased with that. Your whole party must be there to be seated. Pretty standard. There are always groups of people waiting and their parking lot is hairy scary- because customers stop randomly in the middle of anywhere and leave their car to go get their food at the pick up area and all flow in or out of the lot stops. This happened to us and we arrived at different times. But, the restaurant is clean and the service is great. They move and hustle and know what they are doing. They have lots of choices of foods. You'll find something you'll like. We did have one meal with hair in it. The manager came immediately and handled the issue very very well. She made sure we were taken care of properly and she apologized- professionally and nicely. This would not prevent us from coming back. The food was delicious and humans make the food- so sometimes these things can happen. Overall- it was a nice meal and we were pleasantly and attentively served. Be aware of the parking, the busy nature especially during weekend hours, and the waitlist. You'll be happy you used it.

Yelp
Even though I'm afraid of Rosters, this place is great. I had the Apple Streusel French toast, yummy. Oscar our waiter is great, plus the staff works well as a team. The decor was good, except the rosters scaring me. You have to try this place out.

Cyndi R.

Yelp
Today they gave me a 50 minute wait, so we waited. After 15 minutes they called me and asked if I wanted separate tables. Since we were 8 people, it would be 10 to 15 minutes less. To which I said, we'd wait, we wanted everyone together. If it was 50 minutes, the wait was 1:15. I got a message saying that the table was ready. To my surprise, they didn't give it a separate one.

Julia H.

Yelp
Delicious food and good, cozy vibes! Had my first brunch date here and it was great! Lots of variety on the menu. Definitely coming back to try other menu items. Attentive and friendly staff!
google avatar

Osama K.

Yelp
Amazing food good people. Energy is excellent and I highly recommend the French toast

J G.

Yelp
Outstanding breakfast, on the weekends you will wait awhile but it is worth it! I've had close to 10 visits here and have never had one bad meal! Best coffee too!
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
Wasn't impressed. I miss Vicky's - the place it was before they turned a beautiful brick building into a barn. Food is ok. Service is good. I was a daily customer of Vicky's-great food. But haven't been impressed with menu choices or food with Mad Rooster. I understand it is well liked by some so don't let me stop you from checking it out.
google avatar

Bryan A.

Yelp
The food is great but a tad on the expensive side. My biggest gripe is the lack of ability to split checks appropriately in 2025. My colleagues and I have literally decided on other breakfast options because of this one issue. I believe they already have the toast system, it shouldn't be that hard.

Jay H.

Yelp
Best breakfast food I think I have ever had. Came in town for a Brewers game and stopped for breakfast before heading to Chicago. Addy E was fantastic!!
google avatar

Julie Y.

Yelp
It was only a 20 minute wait for a table during Saturday brunch! Food came out fast and was delicious. Didn't really enjoy the banana walnut bread because it was cold, hard, and dry, but the other dishes were great. There were many families around, and seemed like a nice kid-friendly restaurant.
google avatar

Gabby Z.

Yelp
Place was pretty busy so we got on a waitlist ahead of time. Once we arrived we waited another 5 minutes and got seated. The wait time when driving was about 30-40 minutes so we didn't mind it. For drinks we just got water and orange juice, which the orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. The decor inside is super cute, barn like, just how I figured it would be, also makes it feel cozy. Food wise we ordered gluten free pancakes with bananas and a side of sausage links 6/10, I finished one pancakes which it was just okay. Someone had to of put too much salt in the batter or some baking powder or something which it wasn't doing it just ice. The links were good though. Also ordered french toast with side of bacon 4/10, the french toast did not taste good, the bread of whatever they were frying on was tasting like that like the griddle. The bacon was thick cut and fatty so it wasn't too enjoyable. The place is nice though just don't recommend the above. Also service was good.
google avatar

Jeremy J.

Yelp
We stopped in at the mad rooster Café while we were in Milwaukee Wisconsin visiting. We had a really good time in our trip to Milwaukee and we stopped in here because this place had high reviews. I got a bowl of chili and a turkey club and both were excellent. Chili was the best thing I ate it was great, turkey club was pretty good but the chili was where it was at. My wife got chicken and waffles and truly enjoyed that and my kids like their pancake meal. Also service was good I'm beyond was good we had a great time. It was expensive, but it was worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here with my two buddies. We were looking for a lunch stop before we went to watch some baseball and hang out with each other. We were going to the brewers game after. If you are ever going to a brewers game on a Sunday at 1:10, come here before for lunch. That is what I did. Honestly, just come here regardless that is how smacking it is. I got something from the special menu. It had hash and what sauce that you put on eggs Benedict. Was soooooooooo good. My waitress was fun. She was nice too. Every once in a while she would give me the eyes. You know what eyes I'm talking about. We were kind of playing games with each other. Sometimes I would give her the eyes, even if it was not warranted. Then, when I left she kinda pulled a move that confused me but I think we had something good.

Yelp
I would leave a 4.5 stars (ill explain later), but it doesnt let me, so pretend it is haha. Anyways, great restaurant! Entering the restaurant was already an eye pleaser. The place has a very comfort-food ambiance, which i like while eating my breakfast. The server was very attentive, patient, and kind, he even made some recommendations on upgrading my potatoes. All of the food was delicious! What really surprised me as soon as took a bite of it, were the eggs. Plain over easy eggs, but the eggs themselves were so good! I know, it's just eggs, but pay attention next time you eat em! You might be mad at me for this, but i gotta have good coffee with my breakfast, and the coffee was decent. It was a bit too acidic for my liking, which is why i give it a 4.5anyways, highly recommend!

Puddy M.

Yelp
Very tasty breakfast spot. Service was quick and friendly. We did have to wait to be seated but we were able to join a waiting list. There were several items that looked really good. My favorite was the country fried pork chop that my brother got. Would definitely go back again.

Yelp
Yum! A classic Milwaukee staple and usually a wait. If you get there early enough you can get seated right away, but that sweet spot of breakfast/brunch time it is busy! There are plenty of parking spots, but it does fill up quick! Mad Rooster has your classic homegrown, country breakfast feel to it and something for everyone! The menu is extensive and had everything you could want for breakfast! Pancakes, waffles, benedicts, eggs,... the list goes on! Our server was friendly and patient as we decided what we wanted to get. I got the Mad morning tacos, three pretty big tacos with eggs, chorizo, peppers, avocado, salsa and sour cream and a side of potatoes! It was so good and filling! Others at my table got some of the skillets and pancakes! We were all ready for a food coma when we were done!

Yelp
A-maz-ing!! Definitely make reservations before attempting to come here. We stopped on our way to Chicago. Definitely a great lunch spot. The food was delicious!! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Mad Rooster is a popular breakfast spot, and making a reservation for a large table was convenient, though we did have to wait a bit upon arrival--not a huge deal. The menu is extensive, and the portions are huge, which was a nice surprise. The food overall was pretty good, but the bacon was a major disappointment--nobody at our table could eat it because it was so rubbery. Despite that, it seems like a well-loved spot in the area. I would go back again.

Another lovely breakfast with my husband and MIL at her favorite spot. Fantastic service with very delish and fresh food! No complaints per usual, would highly recommend this brunch spot to anyone looking for good breakfast/lunch food any day of the week :)
