Drag Performers Redefine Paris’s Historic Cabaret Scene | Eater

"One of Paris’s oldest cabarets perched in Pigalle’s neon-lit hills, this historic venue blends heritage and contemporary drag: performers like PowerBeauTom belt out pop anthems (sometimes in French) backed by lively pianists, eliciting sing-alongs and rapt audiences; the club also serves as a refuge with a backstage culture that includes vendors making piping-hot crepes, and it has become notable for integrating drag kings into its roster and for its deep ties to the city’s midcentury trans-cabaret history." - Caitlin Gunther

"Divan du Monde, 18Th Arrondissement Nord by CL Design. Divan du monde'is a place full of history: bal musette, then a favorite brasserie of Baudelaire and Jules Vallès, café-concert, bar frequented by Picasso and other artists, it's a lively placewho now welcomes concerts of all the musical genres and distinguishes itself by its vast and adapted programming. Located in the district of Pigalle, emblematic place of Paris night owls and tourists in a thirst for festivity, 'Divan du monde' is the perfect place for dancing, drinking a cocktail or listening to music!"

The show was AMAZING! Before going, I saw many reviews saying it’s difficult to watch if you don’t speak French. I think that anyone who can’t appreciate the artistry due to the language barrier is absurd. The entire show was pure joy and we were in awe of the sheer talent on stage. It’s a must-see and a true local experience!

We didn't know, what it was gonna be, and it was wonderful. The show was emotional, waives of drama and comedy worked perfectly. Audience clapping and singing together with the artists what makes atmosphere more close and casual. I was impressed and recommend for a night in Paris.

Twas a nice experience watching a show here. I speak and understand french so I kinda enjoyed the whole show but I had with me someone who could barely understand the language so I had to translate from time to time. For visitors in Paris, you might need to consider this aspect before booking for a show or check the schedule which is changing too. You could also enjoy the dance floor after though it was also all french songs and hits which was still danceable even if you don’t know what the songs is all about. Choice of drinks/cocktails was not varied so be prepared for that. Check the menu on this site.

LOVED the cabaret. Neither of us speak french but we really appreciated the art, the music, the performance. Staff were super nice, other customers were also very nice - overall a super enjoyable evening and I would absolutely go again.

we went in for dancing and it was quite crowded. the entrance fee is 20 euro per person, which is a bit pricy.

What a fun evening. Stayed for the Abba cabaret on Easter Sunday with friends whilst we were visiting Paris. Doors opened at 745, show was from 9-10 with a DJ playing music until 1am. What a ball, a laugh, great live show and DJ once the show had finished. A relatively small theatre (standing room only) means that you can get a good view from anywhere. I was right at the back and could see from around the waist up of the performers on stage. I would say upstairs is the best view, but you would have to be at the front of the queue to get in. Drink prices weren't too bad, very much similar to bar prices in Paris over all.

I purchased tickets (€82) for Madame Arthur lifte Madonna and requested a cancellation immediately after payment. Despite acting promptly, the venue refused any refund, citing a strict “no refund” policy, and offered only an impractical exchange (requiring two weeks’ notice). This policy is unreasonable for non-resident tourists and demonstrates zero flexibility or goodwill. Paris is known for hospitality, but this experience was the opposite.

Amazing place, beautiful performers. A bit tough for a non French speakers, I was lucky having Canadian translators near by me, but anyway- we had a lot of fun! Thank you! Lights are great too!
