The ‘I Think You Should Leave’ Dinner Party Is Returning to Seattle | Eater Seattle

"The second I Think You Should Eat dinner will be held at Madame Lou’s on Friday, June 2; it's a 21-plus event with $100 tickets and will include activities like flash tattoos and a performance by Jessica Dobson of Deep Sea Diver singing songs from the show. Syd Suntha will cook something inspired by the show's upcoming third season (he's not sure what yet) and will be joined by chefs Demond Thomas, Cara Nado Bannwarth, and Nate Fieldson, and attendees are told they can "say whatever the hell you want." - Harry Cheadle

Went here with a friend for a DJ show of house music. I like the venue, it is well suited for live shows and dancing. We had a fun time. The drinks are a bit pricey though so watch out.

Awesome little venue tucked under The Crocodile. The space has an intimate, underground vibe that makes shows feel personal and high energy. Sound quality is great for a smaller room, and the lighting sets the mood perfectly. Staff are friendly, drinks are decent, and the crowd is usually laid-back but excited for the music. Perfect spot to catch rising artists or see your favorite bands up close.

Google
Very intimate venue, which means the artist is right there no matter where you are, and ticket prices are super reasonable! Also has decent cocktails and surprisingly tasty bar food! Old bay seasoned fried and chicken tenders make an excellent pairing. There's some seating but mostly standing so a good idea to get there when doors open if you want a seat.

Madame Lou's is an intimate, smaller capacity venue of the same building as the Croc. entrance slightly west, down the hill. Unsure of accessible entrance location as 20 or so steep steps upon entering with handrail. Killer vibe with several large booth seating areas both close and far from the stage in 21+ section. Of which the bar is well stocked and has great service and drinks alike. *All ages area closest to the low set stage* Niche decor, rich with history. Plus clean, nice bathrooms too. Really, for being a small basement venue, it was surprisingly airy and open while being well maintained. Great experience, nice sound, friendly staff and bouncers (they even had doggy treats for local pups who walk by!). Will be coming back for more shows! Great first impression and LOVED being so close to the band.

Nice venue. Huge bar. Only thing, please be aware there are stairs to enter and can be dangerous if you have been drinking or not paying attention. It also can get crowded quickly on the floor during concerts and performances.

Google
Neat little venue to listen to live music! We have seen Suzzallo and Samantha Crain here and both times it was nice. If you don't show up early be prepared to stand.

Google
Oh wow. What a venue. 10 stars out of 5. Clean venue, the best staff - like seriously noteworthy levels of friendliness and professionalism. Great bar selection. Great food. If you’re in a band playing Seattle - this is the spot. Also a great venue to watch shows. The sound is excellent, awesome lighting. A spacious space that’s not too high. I would highly recommend playing here or watching shows here. So good.

Google
Went and saw a MISSIO concert at this venue. Several other events were happening at the same time within the building, but all staff members were very aware of this and directed me immediately to the correct entrance. I was warned ahead of time that the event would be pushed back by thirty minutes. Security did great with situations. This experience was unforgettable, thank you to Madame Lou's hosting.

Yelp
We saw Infinity Song here. They were AMAZING. It was such a good time. It's almost all standing room so wear a comfy shoe. It's a pretty intimate space so you can see the artists. It does get warm so dress accordingly. They have a full bar and service is pretty fast. They also have nice, clean, large bathrooms. While I don't usually comment on that part of a space, most bars/venues have less than ideal bathrooms so I think they deserve a shout out.

Yelp
I had a great time here. It's a tightly packed venue but the sound was good and everything seemed to run really well. The sound; crowd control, security, bar, etc. The one part I had a problem with was the robust lady who worked in the front end and checked tickets at the front door. She was incredibly rude and I'm surprised she hasn't ate the chip on her shoulder yet.

Yelp
Potentially great venue for seeing favorite bands up close. Sound is decent, drinks and taps are ok, seating is almost nonexistent. Security is good. This is a very difficult venue to enter if you are mobility impaired; long stairs down into the room await you. This almost killed the evening, but we managed. Nope: what sunk it for me was the utter lack of ventilation or climate control. Our sold out show had us packed shoulder to shoulder, sweating bullets, and (by the end) feeling dizzy and gasping for fresh air. We left early and missed the encore. Pretty sure, from the attitudes of the staff I encountered, that they don't care; but if they don't fix this, someone could be hurt. If you or someone in your group is sensitive to heat exhaustion or has breathing problems, reconsider. Not recommended at this time, sadly.

Yelp
A very cosy basement dance club. Staff was friendly, bartender was good, security was solid. The main floor is wide but not deep, so you are REALLY REALLY CLOSE to the artists which is incredible. I think we were maybe 20 feet away, and we were at the back of the main dance floor. We saw Worakls here last night, an excellent show and very highly recommended (DJ + violinist, cellist, and guitarist). Warmup local DJ Samadhi Flow was terrific. I would say the sound quality was OK. It may have been the mixing but the bass was pretty heavy consistently through (...dance club...) and the midrange and high end were pretty muffled. Worakls makes beautiful music so I missed hearing the ranges in their instruments. If you are debating bringing your hearing protection... bring it. I didn't and wished I had. Lighting was functional (good, you could see the band, etc. but felt like there was a lot directed right in our eyes, too.) Strobe sensitive folks might want to take precautions. Brian C.'s review is totally spot on - the club is very difficult if you are mobility impaired. There are a few booths (not all of which have a view of the stage) and a small padded bench that runs along the outside of the dance floor. No chairs, and no seating from which it's easy to see the stage. Basically stand or don't see. I was able to get a seat on the bench and sit/stand when I needed to, but the taller people in front of me blocked most of the view of the stage. Club was not too hot, and not too crowded, but also not sold out (Sunday night). No coat check.

Yelp
Here for a festival. It was an "ok" experience but the sound guy clearly wasn't used to mixing industrial music. Kinda killed my enjoyment of the band I'd been looking forward to most when their tracks were 15-20% quieter in the FOH mix than they should have been. Another evening experienced the inverse as the stage monitors were run so hot that one literally caught on fire (not to mention actively hurting musician ears). Bar staff and house were both great as was attached hotel. All in, I've been to far worse, but I really hope the festival brings some "familiar" ears next year.

Yelp
Venue was fine. Except for the AC fan the staff had raging 20 minutes into the concert. Multiple people in and around my group begged the staff to turn down the AC, one lady even turned it off herself and then was almost thrown out. I personally was told to change locations in a relatively packed venue that I had arrived to early to get a good spot. The fan was turned on well after we picked our spot, and truly ruined the event. The security staff was incredibly dismissive and rude, and everyone in my area was complaining instead of enjoying the music. Fine venue, just be aware of where you stand.

Yelp
Fun concert intimate setting. Don't leave a tab open better yet don't use a card. You will get charged for drinks you did not buy and when you call to dispute they will just tell you that you are wrong.

Yelp
Mimosa Sunday. Great time, super DJ Small food items for purchase. Nice, unexpected good time

Yelp
This is a great venue to listen to "up and coming" bands. Small and accommodating, everyone was friendly. Dream Logic, a local band from Wallingford was why I purchased tickets, and they didn't let me down. They were fantastic, with an exciting lead singer who plays the viola. That's right, a friggen viola. The lead guitarist and bass player were also quite good. However, I felt the drummer was the weak link. Dream Logic will be internationally famous in the near future, and Madame Lou's is a place that will encourage you to say, "I saw them first at this little venue on Wall Street.

Yelp
Worst concert experience, EVER. Was it the band, no. Was it the ambiance, no. All of that was great and Bartenders were Johny on the spot for drinks. So what was it...there is zero, I mean zero ventilation. Dangerously so. Made it so uncomfortable, it was hard to enjoy the show. It had to be over 100 degrees in this place. No joke. Everyone was complaining about the heat, even the band. I would have left, but had to wait for encore to hear my two favorite songs of this band. I would think twice about going to this place for concert entertainment. It will have to be a really special band for me to go there ever again. Which is too bad because it is really a cool venue.

Yelp
Staff is super friendly, great atmosphere, and kick ass local music. I saw local Seattle band Dining Dead here, they rocked

Yelp
Was there tonight for a indie/folk concert, music was amazing but venue vibe went from fine to horrible. Was there with two other people, random guy behind us must've been wired or something and started making aggressive comments at my boyfriend and friend. Was getting angry at us for somehow both not pushing other people forward enough but also getting back into his space (?). That then escalates to him touching my boyfriend and our friends arms and backs and making further uncomfy and aggressive comments including things along the lines of "this is great keep going" and "I like this do you like this" etc. We had been and continued to be in the exact same spot the entire concert. He also threatened to knock our friend out at one point for "constantly spilling" an imaginary drink. For context I was sober and my friend and bf had one glass of beer each all night, we were not being crazy, and we definitely were not spilling drinks. Clearly drew a scene as everyone directly around in an already pretty loose crowd was looking and others came up after the show to ask wtf happened. Security was maybe ten ft away if not less on the stairs and did nothing while this played out over the course of most of the main act, up until the end. Entire show was spent anxious and trying to avoid conflict while someone kept confronting us over something that was not happening. My friend, boyfriend, and I were extremely on edge throughout the show and the one thing I can say is that I am glad I was w my bf and guy friend rather than a group of my girls because it would've felt even more unnerving. Major let down from venue staff and I'm left curious why they even hired crowdwatch/security in the first place.

Yelp
I saw a great band here and loved that it was a small, intimate venue. That said, it was easily 90-95 degrees inside (on an October night). No ventilation or AC to speak of. the singer way dying, it was so hot (and he commented on it). all my friends were sweating, just standing there. Madame Lou's really need to fix this if they want anyone to return a second time.

Liz P.

Yelp
Fantastic venue, great sound but definitely need air conditioning or more air circulation. It was overly warm and steamy; I felt sorry for the band as the stage was so hot for the!

Joel H.

Yelp
Not as great a venue as the old croc IMO, but good sound, and good bar. Haven't been to the new croc yet.
