This madeleine cake shop is truly exceptional! The cakes have a great taste—perfectly soft, buttery, and delicately sweet. The owner provides informative explanations about their flavors and ingredients, making the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the customer service is warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch to every visit. Highly recommended!

My very first time visiting and bang! I could say this is the best place ever for Madeleine fans! My favourite would be mugwort, corn, orange & cherry. Overall, they all contain unique flavours and are made of various combined elements that make them stand out from each other. Of course, other flavours are worth a try too as this place will have a tantalising selection that never lets you down. Very recommended

So yummy! Not exactly cheep, but they are a fun little treat or gift. Yuzu is always my favourite - also the earl grey. The specials are always really fun, much richer than the originals. Fun branding & shop - staff are always really nice. Sometimes have a gluten free option, but not always.

not so quietly, I really want to like their madeleines and what they're trying to do... but... for the price they're asking, and what I got that day... I simply cannot justify it. It's not quite worth the value they perceived their products are worth. They look absolutely beautiful ! vibrant colours and creative. The flavours were subtle and lovely... but... 5 out of the 7 Madeleines we got were dry and the size relatively on the small side... and for the price that they're charging for them (7 relatively basic flavours for nearly $50) ? I expected more for it. When you want your product to be in the category of luxury treats, I expect it to be near perfect and consistent all way through. It has to be worth every single dollars that I chose to spent it in your shop, rather than the 2 full meals that I could get out of it somewhere else. Again, It's just my opinion and how I perceived values. This time, it's a miss. Perhaps I'll try again somewhere down the line, but there are plenty of others around to try first.

Madeleine de Proust is a patisserie located on Lygon St, Carlton. The name “Madeleine de Proust” is clever, a French expression used to describe smells, tastes, sounds reminding you of your childhood or bringing back emotional memories, but also their main product and star of the show, the Madeleine, a shell shaped sponge cake. 🇫🇷 Co-founders Hyoju Park (ex head pastry chef Attica, The Langham) and Rong Yao Soh (Matilda159, Sunda) use traditional French patisserie techniques with a distinct Australian twist and an additional layer of Asian fusion in their creations. It took around 400 test batches to perfect their signature recipe! They have three different categories: the more basic and unfilled, the filled creations, and finally the more boujee selection - which features fillings and a chocolate outer to form the unique shapes like popcorn or pistachio. The latter change seasonally or when they run collaborations, like their current partnership with @beautymusicalau. 🥀 ✔️ Fresh Baked Madeleine - served hot! ✔️ Pistachio - yum! The pistachio got a bit lost due to the jam overpowering it. Kinda tasted like a wagon wheel. The design is unreal - a work of art! ➖ Earl Grey Dulce ✔️ Brown Butter & Leatherwood ✔️ Raffaello - indulgent! ✔️ Strawberry To drink, their hot chocolate isn’t very sweet, but it is their own blend they make in-house. They don’t have chai latte, just black chai (tea). Staff are incredibly friendly, and will happily talk you through the entire menu - along with recommendations. I think is as good as madeleines will ever get! Perfectly crispy on the outer, with a fluffy interior. I personally can’t go past their hot freshly baked madeleines, which you can only get on weekends for $4 a pop! Any will stay good for 3 days. They pack them so cute too, so they could make a great gift!

The madeleines are a bit too sweet and slightly on the expensive side. However, the presentation is lovely, and the shop is beautiful.
