The Best Bakeries and Pastry Shops in Montreal | Eater Montreal
"Elegant and imaginative French pastries abound at this Beaubien Street shop. Run by French couple Vincent Clément and Lucile Devert, Patisserie Madeleine serves haskap and lavender tartlets; lime, cucumber, and mint éclairs; and for something more savoury, a cheese and miso croissant. Be sure not to leave without one of its close-to-perfect madeleines." - Daniel Bromberg
We came here because our favorite coffee shop in Montreal had these pastries and they were incredible so we had to check it out. Even the simple ones were light and chewy which was perfect. The strawberry one we got was very fresh and not as sweey as we thought. I personally would have preffered it to actually be a little sweeter but I think it would have been perfect for someone else. Overall a great spot.

Highly recommend! I didn't have high expectations but I had one of the best croissants in Montreal here! Crispy, flaky, airy ✔️
Will definitely try again, because their pastries change by the season, and the tarts are just 👌🏻 so delicious.

Such an awesome little pastry shop! Delicious little treats, with some quality drinks. Best London Fog I ever had and my son's hot chocolate was smoother than Antonio Banderas in a tight t-shirt. Top notch customer service. Will visit again... And again... And again... I'm not losing any weight this year, am I?

A cute little shop with delicious cakes and friendly staff. I took the recommendation from the staff and got the pistachio tart and it was so freaking amazing. The miso cheese croissant was probably the best fusion kind of croissant I’ve ever tasted. The Paris brest was really good too but didn’t impress me as much. Seating is limited to 3 tables but it wasn’t too busy either so still a good place for some coffee, some cake while getting your work done.

Great local pâtisserie with a delicious and eclectic range of pastries, chocolates, desserts, and cookies. They have flavors that you can't get elsewhere like a cheese and miso croissant - which was very good. The croissant was good as well. They have hot drinks too. They have a few tables and places to enjoy your great pastries.

One of the best pastries place in Montreal. From outside, it smells so good. So tempting to go inside. Inside, the decor is very minimalist and welcoming. The staffs are super nice and knowledgeable. The pastries and coffees are out of this world. I will definitely come back.

Best almond croissant I’ve tasted in my life.
I was visiting from Toronto and I would usually try local patisseries anywhere I go and this place sold the best almond croissant. It’s full of almond paste fillings, perfectly caramelized bottom of the pastry which gives the gooey taxture, punch of buttery aromas, and flakey layers of croissant. It’s got everything that I can ask for for a almond croissant. Good thing I don’t live too close other wise I will end up gaining 100lbs just eating their almond croissant. 😂
Paris breast was also good. Bold in flavour.
But none of their cakes and pastries impressed me more that their almond croissant I end up buying 3 more.
Customer service was also exceptional. I can’t speak French but they were trying their best to communicate with me and answer all my questions and accommodated me.
Also the price of pastries are reasonable which is very nice (Toronto patisseries are too expensive 😭)
I would 100% go back if I’m in MTL.
Thank you for amazing work and service!

Everything was soo good! I ordered a miso and cheese croissant, a gianduja croissant, paris brest and a hazelnut entremet. I truly recommend this pastry place. Definitely one of the best one in Montreal if you're looking for fine french pastries.
