Today I Learned: stick to the pastries and baked goods. Their almond croissant, as many have raved, is OH EM GEE delicious. Today I made the mistake to pop in for a Parisian - after all, what else says light, quick, affordable, Paris street food than a Parisian baguette sandwich? I got the chicken with sun-dried tomato. The flavors were good, but I was shocked at the price: $18.50. Only because I was really hungry, not feeling great, and the gal had already troubled herself to go get it for me did I go through with the transaction but had I known upfront that was the price I would've passed and gone elsewhere. I think that price would've been justified it if there was a good amount of chicken breast, but I could tell it was good quality just skimpy on the ingredients. While I would enjoy eating one again, it's not something I can see myself justifying in the future.
That said, their sweet pastries are the way to go here. Croissant anything, flakey anything, cookies, etc. If I was rating their croissants, specifically the almond one, this would be a five star rating, hands-down.
This is not a spot that I would come to on the regular.
It's very cute for a coffee date or meeting with the gals but beyond that it's grab a to-go box.
In terms of their coffee, it's just OK. When I'm looking for a quick cup of coffee that taste like quality I usually go elsewhere given all the choices on the peninsula and near Redwood City. I might suggest that partner with a local (or better) roaster, or maybe bring in some organic regenerative coffee of a higher quality.
