Madewell

Went shopping here with my girlfriend and it was my first time ever entering after walking or driving past tons of times. What this store isn’t is cheap. Everything here is a bit to the pricey side. But with that being said, quality and design appear to be top notch. The staff is all friendly too but be prepared to drop a couple of dollars in here for sure!!

Went here with my sister in law who made a larger purchase. The merchandise is well laid out and the staff is polite. There are two stories of products, don't miss the second level. They have fair trade denim, cool shirts, jewelry and fun shoes. I like the spot overall. My nephew was running all over the place pretending to be a superhero and the staff was exceptionally patient with him 😂

I had a very bad shopping experience at that store. The Cashier was the worst and rudest person i have ever met who pulled hard the price tag out but failed when i asked her to use the scissors(the scissors were in the box but i don't think i should take them out without asking for help) so it ached my heart to look at the way she handled so coasrsly my beloved necklace. She was so rude that she made me unable to enjoy the jewelry I bought there. The associate was Kelly that day who was snobbish too. My suggestion is: Your store has such beautiful products, you don't have to chase your customers away with low-class and cheap service.

The staff here are so nice! Bianca helped me find a pair of jeans. I have been looking high and low for a pair of jeans that would fit for months at different retailers. I thought I would give Madewell a try, and I’m so glad I did. I’m so glad Bianca was the one to help. Buying clothes is always a rough experience, but I left with a big smile on my face!!

Location is great and I'm a fan of their shoes and clothes. Great quality products and the staff is always willing to help. Update: Staff is so friendly and attentive. Had a great shopping experience. Purchased some items, exchanged an item and took advantage of their alterations service.

The staff here is very friendly. The store has a beautiful old/new feel to it. The blue jeans recycle program is really cool. Bring in any brand of your old jeans blue or black and they'll give you $20 off a new pair of jeans. The old jeans get recycled into environmentally friendly house insulation. There isn't free parking and the street is usually crowed but it's a college town so you expect that. All and all a great experience in the store.

I haven't bought a pair of jeans in 3 years and finally decided to go to Madewell because so many people said that they are the best! Since I didn't know my size, I asked someone there for help. Both employees on the floor were super helpful in explaining the return policy and making sure I found the best jeans for my body type. I am so happy with my new pair! Plus I got two super comfy shirts. Highly recommended coming in to this Madewell!

My wife loves this place so I usually go here for gifts for special occasions. It's in a good spot in Old Town Pasadena next to Zara.

After losing our home to the fire, we were left shaken, overwhelmed, and uncertain about what came next--especially having to rebuild a professional wardrobe. But in the midst of all that chaos, Madewell became a source of steady support and genuine care. They didn't just offer help -- they showed up in every way that mattered and continue their support to fire victims. It means more than I can put into words. When you lose so much, you begin to see very clearly who stands with you -- and Madewell is the place I've been able to go. Thank you for being a light in a dark time. This company didn't have to go above and beyond -- but it did, and we'll never forget it. I put my outfit together today and realized something was missing -- a belt. Sadly, all of mine (including everything I owned) perished in the fire. I'm wearing the belt I came in to purchase to complete my look, and walked out wearing it. I am obsessed.

Oh my gosh! I had the best time at Madewell recently. An associate named Sarah helped me find the best holiday outfit! I had been dreading going into the store this holiday season but Sarah made it so great! I got a great pair of jeans and a new mini bucket bag. So excited to wear it!

I came in today 9/15/24 and was welcomed by the kindest team. I shop at this location often, but today was different. I came with a friend who has never shopped at madewell. She was like " it's not for girls like me". It was like she lacked the confidence or didn't know how to style herself and was too shy to ask. Well, I was kindly treated by Katie, and when I say it was a different experience, it truly was. I came in to help my friend, I had no intention in purchasing myself but I was trying to help my friend elevate her look for a work promotion. That's when Katie came along. Katie was so kind! She took the time with us and literally showed my friend what jeans would look good, how to elevate the look, how to pull the jeans with the tops together. I saw a light in my friend that I hadn't seen before. She had this huge smile on her face and was like I've never shopped here before, I didn't think I fit your image, but you made me feel so welcomed and so confident, we walked out with 3 pairs of jeans, 2 tops, and a belt.... For now. My friend smiled so much as we walked out and continued to say how amazing Katie was and how kind the team was and how much Katie helped us! We kept saying our stylist Katie. She was soooo great, so kind and honestly kept me as a forever customer and definitely made a new customer with my friend. We are so happy we came in to madewell today, and look forward to shopping with you in the future.

One of the few Madewell locations left in my area. Absolutely very friendly and helpful staff! Only con is I tend to not really find my sizes here but Century City typically does have it (I'm XS for reference). Overall though the store is very well designed and laid out! Love shopping here!

I came here for one thing and ended up walking with five items. Coincidentally, they had an additional 30% off sale on their items, so I was definitely tempted to shop a little more. The customer service here was great. Everyone was making sure I was being attended to. You definitely get what you pay for. The average price for a pair of jeans is about $100, but you can definitely feel the difference. I parked on the street and paid for 2 hour parking which was about $2.

Recently bought a pair of jeans online which were too big so I thought to exchange them in store. Unfortunately that specific style was only available online but the store got the best of me and I ended up finding a great pair that I exchanged for with the help of two amazing salesgirls (I believe their names were Audra and Michelle?) I'm horrible at remembering names but will never forget the incredible help that these two lovely ladies helped me in finding the perfect pair of jeans! Michelle was so helpful in finding me various colors and sizes to try on, and explained to me the difference in rise, which I so very much appreciated! But overall, the service at Madewell was amazing! I will definitely pay this store a visit again soon and hope these two saleswomen get the recognition from the store that they very much deserve!

Very friendly and helpful staff. They go out of the way to help you find sizes and order online items. The shop is always immaculate and clean.

Wonderful service!! Most of the workers over there are actually really nice and very friendly! The store inside there is really cute, charming, cozy, and spacious!! They do have a lot of clothes and nice accessories to choose from!!! I definitely will come back to buy more of their cute clothes and accessories over there in Pasadena, California when I get the chance to!!! Thank you all so much for everything! Alba was the most helpful sales associate to ever work at madewell! She is caring and kind and went above and beyond to get me the perfect jeans. She is a star and the best person to ever work at madewell!

This is the BEST Madewell location for me! Always well stocked, store looks pristine and the service is truly the best. Lauren helped me with my online purchase and she really took the time to ensure my address is correct, she gave 100% customer service and I did get my item in 2 business days! I had an online order back in November at the Glendale location and it was not as smooth. Everyone who works in Pasadena are consistently going above and beyond (i go every weekend) ! Kudos to Madewell Pasadena team!!

Justine and Janice were uh-mazing! First off, Janice helped me pick out the two types of jeans I was eager to try and ended up falling for both! Justine gave me great customer service at the counter. So 100% happy thank you ladies!

This is such a nice madewell location! The zipper to my favorite pair of jeans broke and they were able to help me exchange my pair old pair for some new ones. Thank you guys for going above and beyond!

I shop a lot with Madewell. This is the unfriendliest boutique I've ever been to. I've been here dozens of times and nearly every time the workers are rude. Mind you I usually go in head-to-toe in Madewell and spend quite a bit. I stopped shopping at this location and switched to online and other boutiques because of the attitude of the workers at this location. A big contrast from the workers at the Americana who are super engaging and friendly.

I needed to buy new jeans and found this store on Yelp. Lauren assisted me and was incredibly helpful. She was able to guess my size and recommended a cut based on my preferences. She was spot on. I bought the first pair I tried on. She also let me know that when you bring in old jeans they recycle them and give you a discount. I ended up buying two pairs and will definitely come back.

What I got: An amazing pair of great fitting black jeans! How was it: Such a breeze!! Tyler was just amazing! I called ahead to make sure they had my size which is really hard to find in most stores since I'm shaped like a real woman. He put some aside for me and but reassured me when I came in that I probably wouldn't need such a big size since their jeans were generously sized. He was right and I was impressed with his knowledge and expertise on sizing and fits!! Service: On point!! From beginning to end! Price: So worth it!! Overall: I used to hate shopping for jeans, not anymore! Thank you Madewell Pasadena!

I've ordered online but hadn't been to a Madewell store. This story was busy but well staffed. I was offered help in each section and assisted in the fitting room area. Sadly many items were out in my size but I was offered help finding them online or in another store and I purchased three great items. I have an online order coming too and plan to order a few more pieces after seeing them in store. Clean environment and clothing nicely spaced, not crammed together like some stores.

I typically don't write reviews anymore, but wanted to recognize an associate that works there named Kelly. :) I was returning and exchanging an item this past Saturday and she greeted us as we came in and was ready to help us out right away. I had a quick return and exchange to make. Kelly was so friendly and kept the convo going during the entire transaction. She was so upbeat, nice, and accommodating, which made for SUCH a positive experience! I actually live a lot closer to the Madewell at South Coast Plaza, but the service in Pasadena is so great, that I actually will drive out this way if possible to visit this location. Every experience I've had at the Pasadena location has been so warm and friendly. To management: Covid has really been challenging for businesses, but the people at this store are really going above and beyond expectations. Having worked in retail previously (Apple), I understand how challenging it can be to keep things running smoothly and recognize when someone is really providing excellent customer service. Please consider rewarding these hardworking employees, as they're really just kicking ass and going beyond what is required of their role.

Have to leave an appreciation review here for the lovely sales associate who helped me process my returns and exchanges close to closing time. Went to the Pasadena Madewell an hr before closing on Tuesday night (not an a-hole, I get off work that time!) with a handful of returns, exchanges, PLUS store pick up items to return. The sales associate who helped me out was friendly and patient with everything. Thank you for the great customer service! Parking is street metered parking (coins or app only) or parking structure on Delacey free for first 90 min.

I'm typically not a big shopper, a few trips to Shop Ashiya during the year supplemented by Ross, Target, and Goodwill does it for me. But the other day on the train I complimented a girl on her shoes and she told me about Madewell. Everything is seems like solid quality, with today's cozy basic style. Bern V and I browsed a bit and then really were interested in the sale shoes area when Robin noticed us and had great input on what was available, fit, and style suggestions. Items are quite pricey, but the sales rack helps. Plus because of the excellent service and classic style, it seems ok value wise. I love my new dress and shoes!

Love their clothes and the range of sizes. We can all shop there together. Also like the denim bar and leather goods.

Shoutout to the girls helping me on Thursday 8/24, very sweet and helpful trying to help me find my post partdum size. Had to exchange since I think I'm size bigger and they're very understanding wanting me to get the size right to love my jeans. That's customer service!!

I used to be all about Madewell years ago but my core style and taste has shifted in the last 4 years. I still have a select few of their pieces that are simple/minimal classic styles in cotton, linen and silk fabrics and one pair of low stacked heel shoes. Other than that, I have nothing else from them. I favor ethical and sustainable brands as well as local designers who are environmentally conscious. The ones who create pieces that are sleek, stylish, minimal and chic at the same time. If you can buy Madewell pieces second hand that are in excellent condition, I think that's awesome! It keeps the economy circular instead of linear. If you like Jesse Kamm pants but it's out of your budget, Madewell has a similar style. Look for the Emmett (even comes in a slim version) and Langford wide leg pants (I have this in olive green, bought it second hand. Kamm pants don't fit me even in their smallest size). I believe it's a best seller on their website and is probably now a staple piece stocked every season. They have pretty good customer service. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience in the years that I was a customer. Their sales are quite generous too from what I remember. Usually they'll even have an additional percentage off and if you're a student or educator, you get 15% off discount 247! (not sure if it's stackable, I don't remember). If you like J.Crew's style but are looking for a bit more of a relaxed youthful flair, you'll like Madewell however it's good to know that it's fast fashion.

Kelly, manager, is the best! Great fall clothes, great store, excellent customer service, COVID safe practices-- such an uplifting and confidence-boosting shopping experience.

Who's got a bunch of money sitting around with nothing to spend it on? Come to Madewell! Pasadena's Madewell is my favorite location so far. The layout is spacious and it is also extremely close to home. Everything at Madewell is really good quality, cute, fashionable comfortable, and made...well? I bet you didn't see that coming. I don't think all their clothing sizes are consistent so I'd try them on to be sure. They've got a great program that lets you donate a pair of jeans and get $20 off a pair of theirs! Every discount works because Madewell is not cheap. From jewelry, to shoes, bags to sunglasses, you can find so many gifts for yourself and your lady friends! I don't think they make men's clothing...yet? The only downside to this Madewell location is the parking. It's Old Town Pasadena so you've either got your standard parking structure, free for 90 min and $2/hr after, or you park at meters.

Such a delightful store with great quality products. I always stop in along our walks on Colorado Blvd. I often want multiple things but have yet to actually try some things on to check their fit. Their denim bar is really cute and has tons of options. Great looking tops, jackets, shoes and bags. This is a great store for a casual relaxed yet very well put together look.

Cute store to explore and shop. Always have cute tees and denim items. I can wear a lot of their clothes on a daily basis which I love. I'm more casual so their outfits are perfect for me. Their denim items have lasted a long time. I bought a tee from here that didn't last so long. The neck stretched a bit but I still wear it

I know I'm getting old but can't some of these stores bring in merchandise that most people will enjoy. Most of the shirts are very boxy and frumpy. The majority of their jeans are high waisted. There are lots of petite woman who have a shorter torso. The dresses are made for a 6 foot women. Lately Target has been looking like their buyer is from "Little House on the Prairie ", Maxwell is heading that way, they are on their way to that town. Do better for the prices you are charging please. Btw. The employees in the Pasadena store are delightful, this review is towards the buyers and upper management who seem to be out of touch.

Not a great experience, just popped in from going to Banana Republic but was also not even acknowledged as I was walking around the store. Definitely not a welcoming vibe that would make me want to visit again-completely ignored until "I" initiated conversation. I will go online instead....

I consistently have a mediocre experience at this Madewell. My wife loved the clothes here and I shop there often enough, but the workers just aren't friendly. I have often felt unhappy leaving the store and one shouldn't, having spent as much money as their clothes cost. I think they have a great selection of clothes, which is why they get 3 stars. It's well-designed and good fitting! Just wish their salespeople were friendlier

My favorite clothing brand and store in the whole world. They have great sales associates and customer service is a plus. I've been going here since 2013 and the quality of the clothing is amazing after going through the wash. I have their denim, handbags, shirts, jackets and their shoes. If you haven't gone here you are missing out. Sizing is good and they have a variety including petite and tall.

I was shopping for jeans and KELLY gave me the absolute best customer service. She was very knowledgeable in the denim department and made my shopping experience very pleasant. I bought two jeans online for full price that said final sale because I didn't know which one would fit better. Madewell has made exceptions for me in the past as I am a Madewell star status so I brought the jeans that didn't fit into a store to make a return thinking that the manager would have some common sense and at least give me a store credit. She told me flat out that it was a final sale and she couldn't make an exception I told her that's ridiculous considering i clearly purchased two pairs of jeans that were full price that is still in stock online. She ended up letting me make a same-day exchange that said Madewell is supposed to be known for their good customer service and it seems like that's been falling short these days.

Extremely unhappy with store policies, and the management was incredibly rude. I bought a pair of jeans for my girlfriend, and went to exchange them 3 days later. The jeans we wanted to exchange were the same price, yet they insisted on charging us $40 more, refusing to let us switch out a pair of jeans that were exactly the same price as the pair we bought. Incredibly unhappy, and I will not be shopping here again.

Lemme preface this review by saying... I have never really been a fan of Madewell. Mainly because I am more of a GAP shopper and well, I will never be better than the GAP. So, I mosey into this joint with some gal pals. My friend is ALL about this brand. Naturally, she is all up in this place, while I am waiting around to see her come out of the dressing room. Whilst waiting, a kind worker bee asks if I would like some water, as it is an unusually hot summer day. I say yes and to my surprise, and delight, she hands me a bottled water. This little ounce of kindness, along with a friend finding me an amazing coat for a killer deal, led me to my first Madewell purchase. Definitely worth checking out, if not just for the great customer service and amazing sales in the back.

Madewell is one of my favorite stores and the girls who work there are so sweet. I was looking for a particular top and they located it for me in Chicago and were able to get it shipped over to my house for no charge. I buy everything only on sale or with my 15% teacher discount as Madewell prices can be steep. I love their tee's and their style of tops as well as the cool rings. I am currently eyeing one of their leather totes but thus far it is still full price.

Friday 6/15, 8pm 5 STARS for stellar customer service! The other reviewers have given you a sense of the Madewell style: part of the J Crew empire, but younger, hipper, quirkier. Two words to summarize their style: Alexa Chung. Only you know how those two words make you feel... Not everything works for or appeals to me and I think their prices are high. Having said that, their denim is inventive and most of the fabrics are high quality. Anyhoo. In a world of horrific customer service, the Madewell crew shines bright. Helpful, not hovering. Willing to give you space or honest feedback. Truly happy to share info about discounts, so you get the best price possible. This staff just "gets it" and I'll see them again soon. Welcome to Pasadena, Madewell.

I just love this Madewell in Old Pas! I was there during their sale to buy the Emma Wide leg crop Pant in Burnt Sienna for my daughter. Even though her size was completely out of stock in the store and on line, Jess went out of her way and found her size in New York!!! Thank you Jess for all her help and Tyler for his recommendation for my new transport bag in dark cabernet at Madewell!!!

I sincerely love the style and quality of Madewell. It's cool girl tomboy chic and under the J. Crew umbrella. After a workout, I stopped in to check out new fall items and really liked a pair of velvet pants. I purchased the wrong size and didn't try them on. I went back to exchange them but they ran out of my size so they placed an order for me online. It was more complicated than anticipated but appreciate them taking longer to make sure it was done right.

THIS IS MY NEW FAVORITE STORE! It's like a heavenly cross between Anothropologie and maybe Lucky Jeans- a bit of whimsy but that sort of western edge. They've got great basics and lots of interesting pieces that you wont find elsewhere. I really felt a boutique vibe, even though the store is large. Customer service is EXCELLENT and the place is so tidy at all times - even the SALE area is so well kept that it's hard to tell it apart from the rest of the store! My sister and I were looking at all the sale things for quite a while before we even realized! Looks just as special and nice as all the other displays.

Sometimes I don't understand why I should pay $70 for a top. But, Madewell proved their clothing to be worthy of the money. I tried on a shirt dress and was immediate impressed by it. The material was amazing and although it was a flowy top, it fitted me like a glove because it had structure. This is exactly the kind of clothing I am looking for. I like to feel comfortable, look stylish and most of all, look clean and well put together. Madewell has gained itself a new customer! The store employees were very nice. Also, what I liked most about the store was that they were too strict about the changing rooms. I hate to get those number cards and wait for employees to unlock the doors.

I've heard great things about this company in general so I thought I would give their jeans a try! At my age, I'm realizing that forever 21 jeans won't cut it for forever. I was walking down Colorado blvd with my BF when I realized there was a Madewell right in front of me! So I stopped, shopped and grabbed a couple pairs of jeans to try. One on their employees, Emma, was so kind and gave me other pairs to try etc. She was so nice and so helpful and made my stressful jean shopping situation so much easier!! Thanks Emma and Madewell! Can't wait for my new Jean wearing experience.

Went in today bc I needed a few pairs of denim. I walked in and the girl at the entrance doesn't even acknowledge me she just stared at me and walked away. Which I was totally ok with, I'm not asking for attention. As I'm shopping around I notice her kinda following me around and finger-spacing everything I was touching. She made me feel uncomfortable and made me not want to shop .I though that it was maybe time to close and she just wanted to get the store clean to leave. But it was only 4pm I ended up leaving and not purchasing anything.

I love that there's a Madewell in Old Town - this has quickly become one of my fave go-to stores every time I'm in Old Town. You are almost virtually guaranteed to find something amazing/cute every time. I recently bought a blue printed long-sleeved silk dress and get rave reviews from people every time I wear it.

Have shopped here two years in a row for Christmas gifts and each time has been great quick staff is super helpful and more than willing to walk around the store with you to find the right items and make gift suggestions. Great service

I love Madewell clothes but the staff at this location can be pretty rude. They'll ignore you in the store, no greetings when you're coming or going, and give off generally judgy vibes. It's fine for making a return or picking up a held item, but the Americana location is much friendlier.
