"This cafe attached to a renowned motorcycle restoration shop is absolutely as cool as it sounds. Settle in with a cup of coffee (they stock Broadsheet), a square of flaky, sweet baklava, and watch the experts at work through a gigantic back window overlooking the shop." - Erika Adams

Very cool spot! Drip coffee was smooth, but with a heavy caffeine kick. I tried the Tahini latte, unique and delicious. You can walk through the shop and check out bikes and the shop cat. Worth the special trip when coming through Boston, I’d be here all the time if I lived here. Don’t go in a hurry, but definitely go.

I came to this cafe with my sister, we got lemon pound cake, ice chai latte and hot latte. The drinks and food was great, great customer service and the cafe is quite enough to talk with friend or just do your work. I love cute interior design. Definitely would be coming back, next time I am in the area.

Google
Great coffee. Their specialty tahini latte isn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. Unique shop with character. Highly recommend for coffee or bike lovers. There is a high top table, bar seating, 4-5 small tables, and more patio tables outside. Good spot to get some work done, read or chat!

I'm in the minority here where I had a bad experience. Let's start with the good. We came in here and the café looked awesome... you can get coffee AND watch people fix cool bikes and cars. The earl grey latte caught my eye so that's what I ordered, large, I didn't say iced because I wanted hot to go along with the almond croissant. 10 minutes go by and still nothing. My wife with our baby grew impatient and asked, they said it'll come right up. Another few minutes, I finally see them start making my order. Umm, an update would have been appreciated and it wasn't like they were super busy! Maybe their machine was broken? At this point, they gave me the :, not warm (they might not have the equipment to toast/ heat it up?). Finally after 20 minutes, no exaggeration, my earl grey latte was ready. It was iced though. Fine, I don't have the time to wait 20 minutes for another one. Got in the car and took a sip... it was the most watered down latte of any kind I had. Again, if it didn't take so long where we are now running behind schedule, I would have gone in to complain because I could have steeped my own bag of tea and add milk and ice to it in a minute with how diluted this tasted. Honestly if this how it should taste, then please take it off the menu. In the end, I waited 20 minutes for a watered down iced tea (which should have been hot) to go along with an average almond croissant. Maybe they had a bad day but it's enough to deter me from returning. I would have given this place 1.5 stars if possible.

Google
Great code with a strong body, well balanced. In one week I went like 5 times and brought my friends to get a taste of local coffee shop. Barista was patience and customer friendly.

I came all the way from Tampa to get a look at the Motorcycle shop. Before that, I enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee with banana bread. High quality, recipes and coffee beans . Restaurant was clean, tremendous atmosphere with legendary customer service.

Stopped in today while visiting the Boston area from Jersey. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was totally blown away by the interior and friendliness of the staff. This has to be one of the coolest coffee shops that I’ve ever seen. You can chill and relax in the cafe, or you can tour the garage where classic $70,000 bikes are worked on in real time. Will definitely be visiting again the next time in the Boston area!

Google
I went to Mad house cafe as an out-of-towner with my fiancé, since we love to frequent little cafés Every time we go to different cities. if I was edgy, and the food was delicious. Coffee and lattes awesome and being of Lebanese heritage made it even better (which I didn’t even know going in)! i’m just disappointed that I didn’t get to see the 🐈‍⬛ cat!!

Yelp
Stopped in today for the first time. Casual, upbeat vibes. Fun and beautiful aesthetic. We ordered a small iced matcha, flavor was faint and earthy. It does come standard unsweetened. The small hot vanilla latte with cinnamon was well balanced with a delicious natural vanilla flavor. The small hot vanilla latte with oatmilk was delicious and well balanced. The small caramel hot latte was balanced with natural caramel flavor. All four beverages were delicious with beautiful presentation. Staff were kind and welcoming as well as patient. Definitely hope to purchase a crewneck sweatshirt in the future and would certainly return.

Yelp
This is a very cool concept/place- It is connected to MadHouse motors the repair shop. Customers can see the repair shop through the windows and watch the work being done AND meet their new garage kitten (my favorite part). The shop itself is very cute and they have a huge merch wall with some quality choices. We both got lattes and loved them. I didn't try the food but they have Mediterranean options!

Yelp
I love the madhouse cafe. The drinks and food are very tasty, and the decor is amazing. I felt like I was sitting in a friends living room in Palestine or Lebanon. The cafe tables are made of Syrian mother of pearl chess game tables, the metallic calligraphy mural on the wall is beautiful and all the little details make it extremely cozy and fun. I really enjoy the music that they play and their hoodie with a logo is a must have. It's a great place to go with friends or to study alone. Don't forget the fact that the cafe is attached to a motor bike garage makes it so cool.

Yelp
Really good coffee and tasty pastries. The baristas are so friendly and the inside is welcoming. The music is always on point. I usually stop by on Sundays because I can walk over and take a coffee to go, but one of these days I will bring my laptop to get some work done.

Yelp
Just found my new favorite coffee shop in the Boston area. Madhouse is a one-of-a-kind coffee spot overflowing with character and caffeine. This woman-owned business brings motorcycles, Middle Eastern flair, and coffee together in a way that you won't find anywhere else. The cafe is an expansion of an active motorcycle garage so you get to watch mechanics in action while you enjoy your coffee. But don't let the garage and motorcycles parked at the door fool you. Inside is a beautiful welcoming space. The decor is inspired by the owner's childhood backyard where she learned how to work on motorcycles. Seating is under beautiful hanging plants where you are surrounded by cozy Middle Eastern decor, beautiful bench pillows, and motorcycle paraphernalia. The owner apparently studied photography and is an award winning motorcycle designer so she has a bit of an eye. Oh the coffee is spot on as well. They have all the standard coffee drinks. Their signature Tahini latte just feels like a warm hug and has the perfect mix of creamy and sweet. The homemade Baklava is so good - flaky and decadent. Service was great. Shout out to Nicholas! Lots of outlets and strong wifi for anyone looking to get work done. Also bench seating allows for groups to fit comfortably. Only street parking but there is plenty of it. Well worth going out of your way to discover this very hidden gem! Must try!

Yelp
Amazing coffee, tea, and snacks. The atmosphere is cool and laid back. The owner and the staff are super nice. They have a super cool backstory. They also have a motorcycle repair shop. And they support hiring local and using local suppliers.

Deanna B.

Yelp
Delicious lattes and hot coffee. I get the iced mocha latte and it's been very consistent. I have ordered a few times now. I do wish they had a bigger size available as the iced lattes seem to only come in 16 oz. The large for the hot coffee is 16oz. I also really like the beef kibbeh. I have only had this delivered but it seems like great service from the café side. I have passed by and it looks like street parking only (not 100% sure). I have seen a lot of Instagram posts and pictures that show a pretty interior of the café where you can even see mechanics in the next door auto repair shop working. Really cool! I'd definitely order again.

Yelp
Madhouse Cafe is such a charming coffee spot in Boston that offers INCREDIBLY yummy coffee and vegan options in their food menu. The gentleman who waited on us was a native of the area and engaged in nice conversation about the area and even recommended Bar Harbor as a beautiful place to visit to view the fall foliage. Excellent service! I ordered a 16oz Americano with steamed oat-milk and pistachio syrup. He offered to make me something else if I did not like the drink. I thought that was service above and beyond! I loved the drink! My hubby ordered the Tahini Latte and was very satisfied too! This place has cool swag and plenty of relaxing places to hang out. An abundance of electrical outlets too! Toys for the kiddos and plentiful reading materials. We will go back there after our cruise! Keep up the good work!

Yelp
I came here because of the 4.9 stars review on yelp. Food is above average. Since this was 4.9 star so I came with high expectations. For the Crossisant, I will give a 3.3 out of 5! It's soft. Ur it's too much like a bun instead. I asked and they don't make this in house. But if I don't treat this as a Crossisant, it will be a solid 4/5 Service is wonderful! 5/5. Very nice and kind gentleman! For the ambiance, I have to give it a 2/5, I really like this is themed a motor fans owner and also a cafe lover. However, this is an attached to a motor shop and it has a very heavy smell of gasoline. But overall, I love everything about this idea and coffee and pastry quality! Good job

Ren H.

Yelp
Really cute cafe! The pastry was so tasty and the coffee tastes so fresh and good. Nice staff too

Yelp
Very picky about my coffee, this is legit the best coffee in Boston. Thanks to the amazing baristas and good ambiance. Nice spot with a fire playlist. Try the tahini latte when you're there. Thank you guys.

Yelp
Who would've thought such great coffee could be part of a motorcycle repair shop? A very comfortable spot to just read, visit with friends and enjoy some wonderful coffee. Very friendly and welcoming. We are coffee nuts and Madhouse Cafe is definitely worth the effort!
google avatar

Yelp
Recently visited Madhouse, from the outside the name evoked images of the Mad Hatter's tea party and by extension Upstairs on the Square....remember that place? Walking in, Madhouse is nothing like Uots and sports two themes: motorcycles and coffee. The interior is inviting and aesthetically harmonious--very convenient for their adjacent motor cycle repair shop customers while they wait. There are many coffee options with their specialty being the tahini latte--sadly I'm not a coffee fan so did not try it, although it sounded interesting. There is also a smaller tea selection and Middle Eastern quick bites prepared at a sister location, with a friendly barista serving at the counter. If you like relaxing with a cup of coffee and/or are a motor cycle enthusiast, this place was designed for you.

Yelp
The ambiance here is great! The cafe is decorated nicely and very unique! I ordered the iced sweet tahini latte and really enjoyed it! Note: iced drinks only come in one size. Service was great as well!Overall, would recommend checking this place out!

Yelp
Had such a great visit to the Madhouse Cafe! It is such a unique and beautiful space. Everyone working was so friendly and quick to make our drinks. Would definitely recommend as your go to coffee spot!

Yelp
Ordered online and picked up to find that half the order couldn't be done as they were out, and I couldn't get a refund. While everything tasted great, this was disappointing. We had the zatar, lahmajun, almond croissant, and raspberry Danish. I also had a chai tea with pistachio, which was great until it started to cool and then it was incredibly sweet.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Good coffee--they served Broadsheet when I was there. I haven't tried the baked goods yet but they look good. Friendly though inconsistent service. Everyone's really nice, though they got my order wrong one of the two times I was there, and didn't offer to fix it when I pointed it out. But I think that may have been more on account of genuine confusion than anything mean-spirited. The ambience is very cool--you can see back into the repair shop, and there's nice seating. Definitely a good option when you're in the neighborhood, and worth a trip for the unique ambience and good coffee.

Yelp
Good food. The decor had a great vibe, mostly friendly service. Definitely recommend highly. Mayors breakfast

Yelp
AMAZING LATTES!! I came here because i was around the area and i was welcomed with a warm environment. i got the sweet tahini latte and it was perfect. it is also homemade. Catherine, who made the latte, was sweet enough and gave me a piece of the lemon cake to try and it was amazing!! definitely getting more when i go back. it is also beautiful inside

Yelp
This place is a vibe and great addition to the neighborhood. Staff is super friendly. I'm not into fancy coffee drinks, so I keep it rather simple. I've enjoyed the pastries, particularly the chocolate croissants, almond croissants, and berry scones; though their vendor use too much powdered sugar at times. They're also super nice to my dog Toby who'll occasionally get a treat from them.
google avatar

Corey P.

Yelp
Fire vibe, fire pastries, fire peeps! Glad I found this spot on my way out of the city. Definitely stopping in again!

Yelp
The cafe is adjacent to madhouse motors. The Cafe is good and nicely decorated with Lebanese touches and comfortable seating. Along with the usual cafe items (scones, coffee rolls) there were also some Lebanese Fatyers. I'd never tried before but definitely recommend. The cafe looks out on the motorcycle shop and that is where the magic happens. J.Shia (owner) is an artist and craftsperson whose work has to be seen to be believed. If you have a love for vintage motorcycles, custom builds or just being around talented people doing impressive things I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you have the chance to get a tour by J - take her up on it.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!!! We had delicious coffees and desserts, the tahini latte was amazing and the baklava was out of this world - homemade and delightful! The ambience is lovely, very cozy and spacious, I could spend the whole day there. The service was excellent and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The owner was so welcoming, we felt so at home. Thank you J, for your hospitality and for creating this beautiful space! I highly recommend it and we will be back!

Dan S.

Yelp
Nice spot to spend a few hours. The tahini latte is one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had.

Will M.

Yelp
Awesome little spot stayed around the corner and was nice that the neighborhood had a spot for a morning coffee. Awesome idea for the shop and friendly atmosphere and customer service. Didn't try any

Yelp
Loved my first visit to this newer cafe in Dorchester! There's really nowhere quiet like it that I can think of in the Boston area. Not only is it unique due to being next to a motorcycle shop, the food and ambiance have some Mediterranean roots. I felt so bad that there was only one person working the register/behind the coffee bar, but they were so kind and worked to get all our orders in a timely manner. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Mark L.

Yelp
Great restaurant Service was fantastic and the food was wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone.

Alexandria M.

Yelp
A true gem with delicious coffee and friendly service. Promise it's surprising how interesting it is to watch motorcycle repairs!
google avatar

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance, good tea, it's interesting to be able to look into the shop as you enjoy your coffee. Beautiful merch for sale. Limited food options.
google avatar

Kate L.

Yelp
This is the most gorgeous and sweet cafe - with the greatest team. Visit here, it's such a gem!!

Olivia M.

Yelp
This spot is new and I'm so glad I checked it out. It's attached to Madhouse Motors so you can see into the workshop as you sip on your coffee. I got an iced tahini latte and it was so good. Broadsheet beans and a great balance. Local baked goods and merch available too. The interior is also super cozy, looks like a great spot to sit and do work or meet up with a friend. And J the owner is so friendly and super cool. Basically a 6/5 stars if I could.

Liv P.

Yelp
Yelp's rating of "Great" does not fully describe this gem. The coffee and tea are all smooth and flavorful. The range covers a variety of tastes and the middle eastern snacks sold there. Some, like the fatayer, are made by the owner J's grandmother and taste like an elder's refined and loving hands. The homey vibe continues with the well-designed features communicating the shop's history, cafe, and J's heritage. J picked a rich color palette that adds excellent warmth. There is free wifi, plenty of outlets, and unrestricted bathroom access. This is a great cafe for meeting friends or a "light" workday. I say "light" because you might be distracted by the sexy motorcycles visible through the internal workshop windows and friendly conversations around you. The staff is super friendly and responsive to the community on Blue Hill Ave and beyond. Pull up!

Mavrick A.

Yelp
Unique and creative coffee house that offers a great space to study or get work down. The staff are very welcoming and nice. The beverages and treats are delicious. The ambiance is perfect, with a comfortable seating area filled with wonderful decor. Additionally you can view repairs being done on vintage motor bikes. I highly recommend this spot.
