9 Summer Sandwiches That Are Smaller, Less Expensive, and Worth It | Eater NY

"I favor the uovo ($5.75), which features a carefully partitioned egg, a slice of Italian prosciutto cotta, scallions, and plenty of mayo on a roll made by Madman Bakery; it's small enough to eat in five or six bites while I drink a flat white." - Robert Sietsema

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, February 2024 | Eater NY

"The uovo ($5.50) is just the right size for a snack or small meal — sliced egg, scallions, lots of mayo, and an optional slice of ham on brioche — meant to be eaten in four or five bites so you don't feel fleeced." - Eater Staff

9 More Favorite Sandwiches for Spring | Eater NY

"At Madman Espresso, a tiny coffee bar chain with an extreme Italian bent that I’ve long extolled for its baked goods (more than its exceedingly strong and bitter coffee), they squeeze housemade focaccia in a sandwich press with fillings like mortadella, gorgonzola, and—for no apparent reason—extra pistachios ($8); the cheese melts while the mortadella only warms slightly." - Robert Sietsema

Coffee Shops in the West Village | Eater NY

"This coffee bar in the heart of the West Village where Bleecker and Christopher collide has one of the finest collections of focaccia, pastries, and tiny sandwiches in the city — it could be a lunch destination unto itself except for a critical lack of seating, though there are benches and tables outside. Coffee is better than average." - Robert Sietsema

I usually don’t leave reviews unless something really stands out, but I was quite disappointed with the almond croissant here. I visited on a weekday afternoon, and unfortunately, both the outside and inside were very dry—it was tough to chew and reminded me of animal feed. My friend finished it so it wouldn’t go to waste, but honestly, I didn’t think it was worth the calories. I haven’t tried their other pastries, but I wouldn’t recommend the almond croissant.

Cute little coffee shop off Bleecker St in the West Village with a decent amount of options on the menu. Everyone was super nice and the service was quick. I love the outdoor seating area and there’s a small bar with barstools if you’re like to dine inside. It was a hot one so I went with and iced latte with oat milk and it was delicious. Will definitely be back!

This place is busy and crowded. The staff was very friendly and the oat milk maple latte was amazing. I would come here again. There's no seating but the park is nearby with plenty of seating to go around.

The coffee was fine, albeit overpriced. My low review is for the service: person making our drinks had a cropped tank top showing a lot of skin and they had a very hairy torso which was inches from drink while it was being prepared. It was just gross and unsanitary.

Made my cappucino very quickly. Tasted like European style with excessive foam. Menu should indicate to order a latte instead for American-style cappucino. Tastes like something out of a superautomatic.

Been wanting to try their uovo sandwich ever since I read about it on EATER. But for some reason my sandwich came without the prosciutto cotto marketed on the menu and on the EATER article. The egg itself is unseasoned, so the entire thing tasted really, really blant. Not sure if it’s a change of recipe or what, but I’m not well informed about it and hence very disappointed. I ordered pickup, so when I realized this, it’s already too late to bring up the issue to the employee. Tried contacting UberEats, but the customer service is not being helpful (not a surprise) because allegedly, “the order has already been picked up.”

Oct.2022 - A nice location on bleecker street with thoughtful selections, such as focaccia bread sandwiches, and convenient, small portion size Roman style (taglio) square thin crust pizzas slices, and other baked goods and sweets. This pizza: CAVOLFIORE AL TAGLIO: cauliflower, gruyere cheese, parsley and breadcrumbs, was very good, and a mushroom pizza slice: FUNGHI AL TAGLIO - cremini mushrooms, onions, thyme, sea salt (Vegan), was even better, and a reasonably priced $4 by NY standards. They are also flexible to allow you to take out your selections in your own bags/containers to be eco and save in packaging hassle and waste. - 5/3/2023, update: Wed: - I took home a few vegan slices of pizza, a sandwich, and a few pastries, and I was especially impressed with the pizza ingredients such as rosemary herb, gruyere cheese, etc. The pastries are on the sweet side if you are trying to stay with low sugar. The outdoor space looks brand new, is all wood and very nice. I added a few photos. Pizza: PATATE AL TAGLIO - sliced potatoes, onions, rosemary and sea salt (Vegan) ZUCCHINI AL TAGLIO - sliced zucchini, gruyere cheese, breadcrumbs almond croissant, chocolate croissant, bun/donut.

Italian Inspired Coffee Shop in the West Village. Honestly, Best coffee in the WV, Hands Down. Reminds me of Roscoli in Rome. Food is delicious.

Yelp
Probably my favorite coffee place in the west village! The coffee is incredible, and they offer a nice array of small sandwiches and pastries. The staff is kind and patient and really create a pleasant atmosphere. In fact, it isn't uncommon to a have a nice chat with other customers while enjoying your beverage. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This outpost in the West Village offers excellent coffee, Italian sandwiches, and pastries. The barista, a delightful Italian woman speaks to regulars in Italian, adding to the authentic, low-key vibe. The service is friendly, and the food looks delicious. I had the turkey panini, which was toasted and nice and light.
