I've been to this restaurant a few times, and while I'm not sure they're the best for overall Indian food, I've found that they're very good at South Indian tiffin - it's what they're known for. There's a reason it was absolutely packed when I went there for lunch.
I decided to mix it up this time and got the Egg Dosa - which as the name implies, is a dosa with a bit of egg inside. I was a little bit disappointed as there was really only hints of egg inside the actual dosa.
The actual dosa itself is quite good, though. It's very wide - stretching beyond the sides of the plate. What I like the most was how crispy it was, especially on the outside. It's very thin, but the dosa batter they use is fried pretty well. I really didn't notice much of the dosa that wasn't crispy, which is impressive considering how much surface area it has.
I also really liked each of the chutneys, and the sambar. The coconut chutney was probably my favorite, as it was super coconut-forward in terms of its flavor, and I can say a similar thing for the other two. Each of these dips were very rich in terms of their flavor profile.
Maybe the only issue is that this felt a bit unfulfilling. since there was basically no actual egg inside, the only thing is just the dosa batter, which gets a bit old and doesn't leave you with that much solid food. If I were to come here again I might prefer a masala dosa
Price-wise, it's actually pretty cheap. Most dosas are less than 15 dollars, which I would call a good deal
Overall, is it as good as tiffin you'd find in Hyderabad, Bangalore, or Chennai? Unlikely. Is it worth waiting 30 minutes for a table? Probably not. But it's one of the top places in that sub-genre that you'll find in this city. 8/10
