Madrid & Lisbon Restaurant

I ordered fish... but... this fish smells and tastes like nothing grate. The waitress was very nice and took my complaint... but the cooker acts like he knows everything. But how can he know if the fish is grate or worse... him isn't eating it was me. It was disgusting. They charged me and just laughed.

The codfish was amazing! The best fish I have ever had. The desert was also amazing . I will definitely come back here another time and highly recommend this restaurant.

The Girls are great at service and attentive. the food is as good as always and hasn't changed in ages. .. i usually stop in for lunch or to grab a quick creamy espresso before hitting the road again.

Always great food. Staff shows all effort, especially if Spanish is not your strength. The bread is amazing. Calamari were hot and fresh, and the sauce is better than at most restaurants. Vegetables are cooked well. Shish kebabs of shrimp, pork, chorizo and steak is big and tasty. The sangria is very good, red or white.

If any restaurant is not deserving of its low Yelp rating it's Madrid & Lisbon. I was planning on only having a drink, but after seeing others served I had to give the food a try. Soooo glad I did, the bacalhau a braz is one of the best I've had in the Ironbound area. Easily more Bacalao than most other local restaurants. Bacalhau a braz is one of my go to dishes at any Portuguese restaurant and Madrid Lisbon. It's a great way to judge the chefs authenticity. Most places serve more egg/potato than bacalao, but it's the complete oposite here. Serving was easily 60% salt fish to potato/egg ratio. Almost licked the plate clean. Parking is rough, but you can double park and a parking attendant will keep an eye on your car. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

If you're ever in a Jersey stop by this place the food is great the portions are big 2 people can share one dish this and the atmosphere is fun. Great quality food and service.

I was very disappointed with my order it was not what I wanted and I told them multiple times and still wrong order and the food was poorly made and no flavor. What a waste of my money!!! Don't bother going there!!!

I'm back to put this business on my "Shady and Crooked" list. For the record, my last meal here was amazing! We ordered off the specials menu (which changes daily), as well as the regular menu. Every item that arrived at our table was either spectacular or, at its worst, just plain good. For the record, our service on that day was also good. Lucas, our server that day spoke fluent English (not the case in previous visits) and took great care of us. We had every intention to give Lucas a generous tip for his attentive service, but the restaurant took it upon themselves to charge gratuity to our bill. We were only a party of three. I am prepared to see an automatic gratuity for parties of six or more. I may be accepting to automatic gratuity for smaller parties if I were notified about it in advance. Post it on the walls, write it in the menu, whatever! Having been here several times before, I know this is not general practice. This was just what the manager felt like doing that day. We brought this up to Lucas and he was apologetic, yet, he looked uncomfortable since the manager or supervisor that day (a thirty or forty-something man with near-bald hair) was peering over from the bar. They didn't charge much for gratuity and to be honest, we were prepared to give Lucas much more than what was charged. We ended up not adding a dime! The supervisor was the one who collected our signed receipt. He saw that we didn't add any gratuity on top of what he already added, so he rolled his eyes and let out a loud sigh. So what?! We were offended that he assumed we wouldn't leave a proper tip! We just did what he expected out of us to begin with. There you go! You're welcome! We approached Lucas before leaving to let him know this had nothing to do with him. We also wanted to get his name to ensure this honorable mention on Yelp.

Probably the best Bitoque (Portuguese style steak) Ive ever had in my life. Food is very reasonably priced and great atmosphere!

I really love the grilled octopus here. olive oil onions and peppers this place is so accommodating they could serve it to you in any way you would like it hold olive oil hold the peppers garlic and onions whatever you want. very nice popular with local residents.

I did my daughter baptism there a year ago, very nice service, amazing food, very good wine, one of my favorites restaurants in N.J.

The best snapper I've ever had in my life was at this restaurant. Great food, most dishes served with sliced potatoes on the side. I could do with out the oversized TV broadcasting Spanish novellas in the dining room. But excellent food.

this restaurant, nice decorated, the worst food ever tried in a restaurant, from the soup to the main course took 45 minutes, the codfish was as salty as you could get, the wine was good, but the service ignore us, we had to remind the waiter to serve us, we were the only table in a Saturday night, we all regret to pay a visit, and never ever will go back to that place
