Charming little seaside sandwich spot offering breakfast and lunch options, perfect for a beach day pickup. We tried the chicken salad sandwich and the BLT with turkey. Both were generously packed with fresh ingredients, and even half was enough to satisfy. These are the kind of hearty, well made sandwiches you find yourself craving.

I drove 45 minutes to try a sandwich from here and can confidently say it was so worth it! I got a sunrise blt with turkey, it was amazing and huge! The staff was so friendly and the shop was in the perfect location. Can’t wait to come back and try more :)

I absolutely have to just update this review, so sit back and relax for my ling winded telling of how amazing this place is. I drive OVER an hour to come here! Is it worth it? Yes! The Sunrise BLT is amazing! Bad day? Sunrise BLT! Good day? Sunrise BLT! Bored? Sunrise BLT! Busy bee? Sunrise BLT. It's so good and its GIMUNGOUS! 2 meals for me!! Is Gimungous a word now? If not, feel free to use the pic of this sandwich Websters when you add it to the dictionary. Eat here! Try everything or be like me and try the SUNRISE BLT and never turn back!

Outstanding Little Sandwich shop! great food, great prices, and great surface, What more can you ask for? cut the lazy Susan and the Uncle Stevies, and both sandwiches were spectacular. Everything tastes like it's made from fresh ingredients. The sandwiches are definitely large sized so you'll have enough to take home.

Absolutely incredible. Many sandwhich options that you can customize to your liking! Lots of grab and to stuff from the fridge as well like soups, dips, and pickles! The staff are all so so friendly and the service is fast even when it's busy. I wish i lived closer becuase I'd be here all the time!

I ordered the Mae's salad with chickpea salad on top, and it was absolutely delicious! Fresh greens, a generous scoop of chickpea salad, and plenty of fixings. I opted for the tahini ranch on the suggestion of an employee, and it was very tasty. I appreciate the homemade quality of the food and fresh vegetarian options. Great cold drinks too. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will definitely go back. The place is adorable, clean, and has plenty of outdoor picnic tables to eat at. Thanks for a great lunch!

I had the roasted turkey and Swiss. Excellent sandwich, bread was thick with crispy edges. One of the best things I’ve had in ages. A gift to the area. Baked goods are also excellent.

Excellent neighborhood sandwich shop. It's literally in a neighborhood alongside houses, next to a Church, across from the ocean, and they make excellent sandwiches. People are nice, life is simple, and the food is good. Took my Dad for lunch on a sunny Sept afternoon. The meatloaf sandwich was a daily special and I had that. My Dad had the Uncle Stevie which he liked, and he agreed w/reviewers who described it as huge and messy. My meatloaf sando was loaded up with a great mix of fresh veggies and served with secret sauce on their famous homemade bread. I ate half, was full, and am looking forward to leftovers.

Omg is all I can say about Mae's. I live less than a mile from the place and have never tried them. I ordered the Stevie which was a roast beef with all sorts of toppings that sent me to the moon! I can't say enough about how delicious it was. It also was huge so I ate only half. If you haven't been you need to go and have the experience of a lifetime. Sooo goood!! Oh and the staff is so nice which is always important! I'll definitely will be back!

Mae's is a *gift* to the South Shore. I enjoyed a vegetarian sammie that made my top five sandwiches of all time. Why? (01) Mae's makes their own focaccia, and it is so soft and pillowy. (02) Choice of veggies: Mae's chose roasted carrots and squash for sweetness + fresh, crunchy cucumbers and peppery arugula. (03) The feta adds great salt, while the romesco is rich and savory. It's a thoughtful combination that makes for a superb sandwich. Sandwiches aren't the only standout. My sister convinced me that we needed a pint of spicy cheddar dip (their take on a pimento cheese), which wasn't that hard to do. Am I glad I said yes! I recommend you pair them with a bag of chips. I 1000% recommend Mae's for a picnic (table) lunch, and I have a feeling you will too if you dine here.

For years now I've heard Mae's is a must try on the south shore, but for whatever reason we've never crossed paths. After much ridicule from friends in town, I finally made the trek out there to grab lunch and I immediately understood what I've been missing. Not an overly big menu by any stretch, but like American Provisions in South Boston, a former favorite of mine, what Mae's lacks in variety, it more than makes up for in quality, and being a big roast beef guy, I decided to start out with the Uncle Stevie. Roast beef towered high on a delicious focaccia, accompanied by cheddar, slow roasted shallot slaw, black pepper mayo, lettuce and tomato, it made for an excellent sandwich. After washing it down with a cold brew, I was very happy with my first impression of Mae's and I will certainly be back. On my way out I noticed that they also have breakfast sandwich options that could potentially give local favorite Slacktide some competition. More to come on that front, but very happy with today's debut.

Great sandwiches! We stopped by here on the way back from Cape Cod and tried the roast beef and turkey cran sandwiches. They're HUGE and we couldn't finish them but great flavor and tons of fresh ingredients packed in there. Would definitely come back!

The best sandwich I've ever had - every time we had guests we got the saw sandwiches- always on focaccia bread! Chicken salad is my favorite.

We're new to Marshfield and got a recommendation to try Mae's. Boy are we glad we did! The food was delicious and the service friendly and great. I had the Sunrise BLT and my husband had "the Stevie". We would both order them again. The store is tiny but they do have a small seating area with bar height seats. Next time I'm saving room for the amazing looking pastry. What a gem and I am so happy a fellow parent told me to check it out at a playtime for my infant son.

Annoyed but proud that TikTok is what got them the recognition they have always deserved because now I have to wait a little longer in line but it's always worth it! There isn't a sandwich that doesn't make me drool - their small attention to detail around taking their flavors to a higher level is what makes them truly unique!

I've been here twice now and I love this place! Today I got their rosemary ham sandwich. It's the herb & mustard butter that really makes this sandwich unique. In fact, all their sandwiches are made with ingredients that you don't generally find in other sandwich shops. They also have a nice selection of craft sodas. The people here are friendly and provide great service. Also, there is ample outdoor seating, with umbrella-covered picnic tables, which is really nice during the warm weather. I'll definitely be back whenever I come down this way. Mae's is a great choice if you want a nice fresh sandwich with a unique twist.

It's all about the food. After all, you don't eat the wrappings and presentation, which are impeccable. But the sandwiches are excellent and massive. Best in Marshvegas!

Probably the best Italian sandwich I've ever eaten 10/10. Location is right across the street from the beach, so take your things to go and sit on the sea wall :)

I had uncle Stevie and the meatloaf sandwhich. The focaccia is soft and delicious. Both sandwiches were great. Not your average spread....its was better. Messy but finger licking good. I also bought their homemade spicy pickles. Must try!

Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had! A generous amount of avocado and bacon, and the pepper mayo ensures the sandwich isn't dry. Bread is amazing too!

One of the better sandwiches I've ever had. Was staying in Plymouth for a weekend with some local friends and they couldn't have recommended a better spot just up the road. Fresh bread and fresh ingredients made this sandwich a knockout. Highly recommend the orzo salad too! It's in a great downtown area for walking around after you take down one of their huge sandwiches.

My husband and I decided to do a last minute trip to New England and we found this little sandwich shop. We got the Mae Day and holy cow what a treat! We're are not vegans but totally devoured it! When we returned to Atlanta my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday dinner and I said Mae's! Go to this place even if out of the way!

Friendly staff, different choices, creative menu. Meatballs sub was delicious. Not your typical cookie cutter deli. Food choices had character like homemade pickled veggies and spiced aioli and jams. Will def be back when in Marshfield again.

I got the Uncle Stevie sandwich. It was BUSS'N must try 10/10. It gets a little sloppy when eating cuz of the bp mayo, but you just gotta embrace it. Definitely don't get it without the bp mayo cuz that would be a disservice to yourself. I'd share a pic but its gone now

The roast beef (uncle stevie) is very good. Messy, but everything is fresh and homemade. My wife gets the BLT and says its the best she's had since we moved to the south shore. Love what they are doing here, keep it up!

Mae's is a quaint little spot in Ocean Bluff. You probably wouldn't find unless you were looking for it or went there. Excellent food and service! I was leery of ordering a sandwich that was made on focaccia because of past experiences, however, it was highly recommended. I'm so glad I tried it! I ordered Uncle Stevie's which is Mae's Roast Beef, black pepper mayo (I substituted regular mayo) on focaccia with white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and roasted shallots. Outstanding! I also brought home a raspberry thumbprint cookie, which was delicious, and from their little market area, some of their own pasta, salad, All fresh, and fabulous! It gets quite busy, but you can call in your orders, and they are reasonably fast. The place is neat, and clean, and stocked with snacks, and all you might want. A must try!

I can't imagine how they could improve. Everything we've had has been delicious, especially the bread of the sandwiches and the baked goods. It will be difficult to not be disappointed by comparison in other sandwich shops here on out.

If you want to find the best sandwiches on the south shore here you go!! I drive down to Maes whenever I'm craving a nice sandwich and a beach view. I have not been disappointed by their menu nor the service. It is take out only, but the staff are super friendly when you pick up your food. I recommend the Dr. Rich, but it's only available Fri-Sun while supplies last. My number one sandwich. Second would be the roasted chicken salad sandwich. Both 10/10 recommend. If you like cold brew, you should get a cup in the morning/ afternoon. As for other items on the menu, I've only tried the sticky bun and was disappointed by it. Overall great shop to get a quick bite and park at the beach down the street.

Maes is incredible! The sandwiches are fully loaded and come on the freshest bread. There are a bunch of housemade items for purchase in the fridge (pickles, rice pudding, dips & more) along with local coffee from Speedwell & other delicious snacks, drinks and condiments. The cold brew and blondies are awesome, too! You can easily order online & everything is ready in a reasonable amount of time. Everyone who I've interacted with who works there has been friendly, the atmosphere is super comfortable there. Can't recommend this place enough!

Oh we just LOVE Mae's---food is soooo fresh and even the focaccia is freshly made. We have ordered almost everything on the menu and it is outstanding! I usually change the bread , add avocado, extra dressing etc and it s all on o point every time!!

Holy Smokes! That about sums it up! Sunday morning we made our way to Marshfield for some ocean air and stopped at Mae's Sandwich Shop and boy are we glad we did! This great little shop has a dynamite looking menu and though we hoped for just a quick snack we immediately turned our order into something much larger. Barrington Coffee Roasters from Western Massachusetts is the coffee served and we weren't disappointed with one hot cup of coffee and a cold brew, as well. Three of us ordered egg sandwiches, two without meat and one with bacon. The sandwiches were described by our oldest daughter as, "The best egg sandwich I have ever had." The sandwiches are served on a brioche roll and have American cheese and a black pepper mayo on them that adds a nice kick to the sandwich. The bacon was crisp and plentiful; a must have order next time, for sure. It was hard to pass up the maple pecan sticky bun, so we didn't. This sticky bun was about the size of my head and was absolutely loaded with flavors. If you were to enjoy this alone I wouldn't judge but plan for a solid nap post-consumption. A perfect shareable treat and one worth driving to Marshfield for. Our youngest daughter opted for the PB&J sans the J and scarfed it down. Served on fresh, homemade bread this was not your average PB&J. We picked up a bag of homemade granola to enjoy during the week and sat outside on the picnic tables outside the shop. Mae's Sandwich Shop is definitely a spot we will be heading back to in the not too distant future and we encourage you to check it out soon, as well! A great find!

Scrumptious Barrington Roasters cold brew - a full pint for $3.50. And the sandwiches on house made focaccia?! Yoooooo. Snagged the Capozzoli and a bag of spicy pickle chips, and the end result was a fantastic lunch. Despite Italian meats in copious qualities being notorious for causing midday comas, Mae's version with thinly sliced provolone and a carrot-laden take on hots (think a spiced giardiniera) is hearty without becoming a lump in the tum. Also grabbed a $5 container of Mae's hummus for my kiddo. It's thick and chunky with loads of lemony flavor. Tastes like summer. The COVID setup means calling in or ordering online, with an inside table blocking the entrance acting as a makeshift pickup counter. Employees are masked and gloved - safety first!

Great food! Grabbed sandwiches for the beach, and they were yummy and plenty of food. I feel like I got a good deal for what we got, and it was delicious and fresh. Great little shop to pick up lunch or bagels, they have great dips and hummus too. We'll be back next time we come down!

All the hype is true. One of the best sandwiches I have ever had... got my order to go and so surprised that they gifted me a delicious raspberry shortbread cookie!

On a recent nostalgic drive to Marshfield, where I spent summers as a youth, we spotted Mae's Sandwich Shop on Ocean Avenue that looked welcoming with their picnic tables. I quickly checked the Yelp app and saw very positive reviews while also noticing they would close in 15 mins (3PM). Now, Mae's only offers takeout service which was just what we wanted; originally thinking about sitting on or near the water, but deciding on their picnic tables. We ordered a couple of sandwiches from the staff who could not have been more friendly, caring, helpful and understanding of the need to read the menu. We were conscientious of their closing time, but they assured us to take our time as they were not going anywhere. First ordered was the Salad Sandwich which was a veggie option served on freshly made focaccia bread with hummus, green apples, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard. We asked for no dill and since they custom make each sandwich, that was not an issue at all. The second sandwich was the Roasted Chicken salad; with dried cranberries, lettuce, tomato, and red onion served on multigrain. Both were delicious and very healthy in size. Oh, and this Sunday afternoon (10/3) just happened to be their 2nd anniversary which meant we received two complimentary pieces of chocolate birthday cake! Happy Birthday Mae's!! So happy we stumbled across you, so happy you survived the pandemic, and so looking forward to our next drive to the coast as we will definitely pay you another visit!

Stopped by after a work meeting to grab a bite and I am glad I did. Great location set across the street from the water which is awesome, quick service and fantastic food. I ordered the Uncle Steve and it was amazing. I absolutely recommend Mae's and I will be back again soon.

I had a chickpea salad sandwich here two days ago and cannot stop thinking about it... delicious, fresh, and fast. Friendly staff and close to the beach. I hope I find a good excuse to come back to Marshfield soon just to have more of Mae's. Yum.

My favorite sandwich shop!!!! The ingredients are so fresh and flavorful. I've had the hot tuna, lazy susan, rosemary ham, uncle Stevie, meatball sub, classic egg sandwich (the brioche bun and black pepper mayo are soooooo good), the chocolate chip blondies, and the yogurt jam & granola. I love it all. The Lazy Susan is my personal favorite. If you haven't yet, you have to try Mae's!

Exactly the kind of sandwich you want for a beach day. Heck, any day! I got the Italian sandwich on a nice homemade focaccia bread with yummy yummy hot pepper relish. Asked for the relish on the side so it wouldn't get soggy in the cooler and was happy I did. Wife got a salad with turkey and homemade dressing, a hit. Would recommend this joint to anyone, pay them a visit today. Or tomorrow. Or whenever!

First time visiting Massachusetts and stumbled across Mae's...now I'm looking for real estate in Marshfield. The Hey Loretta sandwich is VERY DELICIOUS and is hands down the best sandwich I've had in my life! You can't beat the focaccia bread is bonkers! Friendly staff and outside seating on a nice sunny day made our experience incredible!

Maes is a great little find! We have been wanting to stop in for a while now and are so glad we did! The Mae Day has amazing flavor that go together so well. The capozzoli was so fresh and both came in focaccia bread that was light and chewy. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Can't wait to try breakfast sandwiches. Oh wow, where do I start?! Are you looking for city quality sandwiches with amazingly fresh ingredients and combinations of flavors that are spot on every time? This place should be a chain and have a cafe inside: it would be packed everyday. They instead have focused on their deliverables which are amazing sandwhiches. They do it with perfection and it's easily the best sandwhich shop on the south shore.

The most unassuming, and the most delicious sandwich shop! We ordered our take-out via phone with credit card (Covid-19 protocol) and ordered a breakfast sammie and a lunch sammie to try both. For the breakfast sammie we opted for the Ham, Egg and Cheese on a bun. We were pleasantly surprised how much ham was on the sandwich; it was piping hot and perfectly melty. For lunch, we shared the Capozzoli- Mae's Italian sandwich. Once again, the sandwich did not lack any meat! It was perfect to share given how much they put it, and the surprise aioli completed the sandwich. I liked the focaccia bread rather than the typical ciabatta, however I did miss the crunch of the bread. If ordering the Capozzoli again, I would ask to have the bread toasted. Overall a great local spot that I would support during Covid and beyond!
