My experience with Magazine Cafe was excellent! I contacted customer service to find out when I could expect to receive my order. They replied back right away, informing me that my order was on the way and should arrive within 3-5 days. They were very kind, helpful, and courteous. Much to my surprise, the magazine was delivered in today’s mail, securely wrapped and sealed, and in excellent condition. I’m completely satisfied with this first time experience with this company, and highly recommend them to everyone!

I was a little hesitant buying from this company at first. Never heard of them. I must say that everything was excellent. They responded quickly to my emails and I received my magazine’s in a timely fashion. Definitely recommend them!

We encountered serious problems with the U.S. Postal Service, none of which was the fault of the Magazine Cafe. They were completely understanding and gracious. They shipped out a replacement magazine immediately and didn't charge me a cent. Very friendly and responsive staff. Well done!

I, sadly, do not live in New York or I would patronize this place in real life. I have been ordering from them since 2020 and have always been impressed by the selection and by the excellent customer service provided. Magazines are packed with care and communication is very good regarding shipping and any issues that might come up. I am a customer for life! Order from these folks or go and visit and help keep print and the last of the great newsstands alive!

This place is a MUST for anyone who loves magazines. The selection is amazing – from popular titles to hard-to-find niche publications. The staff is super friendly and helpful, always ready to point you in the right direction. It’s a relaxed place where you can easily spend time browsing and discovering new magazines. Their online shop is awful. I have ordered from them twice, and after not receiving any updates on my online order for weeks, I messaged them only to hear they don’t have the purchased items in stock. There is no initiative on their end to contact the customer with updates, and their online items say in stock when they are not. They are untrustworthy, have horrible customer service, and like to waste your time.

I love coming here to look at physical magazines (they're becoming rare these days). They have a wide variety of hard-to-find fashion, interior design titles, even international ones. I love that I can always find World of Interiors here.

They have reward points which I have no idea how they base them on. But I've received something like 75 points for $1 in reward money. The issue is that when trying to redeem these points their system oftentimes-more often than not in my case-has an issue where the reward points do not result in the code needed to apply to one's purchase. This has happened so many time I believe it to be not a blip in the system but purposely done so customers cannot redeem the points.

Find this little pretty thing in mid town during lunch break. Like the bookstore with stationary and souvenir...vibe. Winter holiday setup feels nice too.

With much anticipation I pre-ordered the Billie Eilish issue at the pre-order price. However this company was unable to deliver the order, to me or to anyone apparently, leaving only the option for a refund when now in the HMHAS frenzy, this issue's is almost sold out and much higher price. Very unreliable

Variety of magazines, including international versions. Lots of notebooks, blank journals, puzzles and postcards for sale as well. Decent snack & drink offerings for on-the-go.

I really appreciate this business. As many know, print media is in decline, causing many publications to shutter or become very difficult to find. The Magazine Cafe has opened my world view through its subscription service. As pretty much a shut in as a caregiver to my mother and throughout the pandemic, I can't state how much I appreciate this resource. A great store and great people! Go buy a magazine from this great little store!

Watch this company, they make it seem like you are buying a subscription when you are just overpaying for one issue of the magazine. They charged me $15 to ship one issue of Kiplinger's sent to me. There are better places to buy, go there instead of here. I would never shop here again!

Living outside of the US, I send magazine subscriptions to friends for their birthday or Xmas gifts. I have made such arrangements with Magazine Cafe and found them highly professional. Ordering Cabana, for an interior decorator friend, they have always delivered. Cabana shipments from Europe are eratic but Magazine Cafe always delivers or explains when they will deliver. Don't hesitate to use them BTW their special offers, I think, are in late summer. Or call and ask them - They're very responsive. Thanks, Magazine Cafe, for your years of assistance and deliveries of this difficult to source magazine.

Love this company! They can't be beat if you are ordering magazines from other countries although they carry many others that are US based . Customer service is top notch, they keep you informed of when a new magazine is now in stock and when I order my order is delivered packed so well it's received in great condition. I am so glad I found them!

I have successfully used Magazine Cafe to gift my mother Italian magazines. Their service is optimal. She loved all the magazines. The whole process was effortless. I've been using this distributor for two years for my British magazine. I've found them to be consistently reliable, with prompt, effective customer service, and competitive pricing. For instance, they weren't able to get an issue because of early Covid days, so they extended my subscription for an extra month, to make up for it. They have a new feature whereby they send an email with tracking info when the magazine has shipped. (I live in California)

If your looking for Italian language magazines, this place has about the best selection I've found so far in the city. If you read this and know of a better location send me a msg! Its too bad they only have magazines and not newspapers as then I'd be buying those too for my dad. Foreign language mag's are in the back, toward the right, right before the adult magazine section.

One of the main reasons I came to NYC is to go to these magazine stores to get my fill of fashion magazines. I'm not used to seeing all these independent and international fashion magazines in one place. I don't think Atlanta has anything like this. Magazine Cafe is a small magazine store. But they know how to cram almost everything into a small space. The fashion/beauty section is right by the door. If you're a fashion or fashion photography lover, they have a decent selection of international and independent magazines. If you go into the back, they have some older issues for a discount. They also sell snacks by the counter. The person that works here seemed like a nice guy. Since I've never been in anything like this back home in Atlanta, I'm a fan.

***DO NOT ORDER MAGAZINES FROM HERE!*** I don't know how this business is still allowed to continue after seeing so many complaints even on Better Business Bureau. I ordered an annual subscription to three magazines in 2018. For each of them, I have had to send an email to remind them to ship it out to me. Each time, they lied about it being shipped already- like I wouldn't find out from the post- mark on the package that it was only shipped after me reminding them. Ugh! The biggest headache was Mousse magazine. This annual subscription was ordered back in 2018. I've received random issues and still missing one more. I can understand if they don't receive all the issues consistently since the magazines are international magazines. But how are they still selling "annual subscriptions" online? So deceiving! I know I probably won't receive the last one after reading the reviews below but if you're considering ordering magazines from them, please save yourself the nuisance. There are so many independent small businesses and bookstores that sell international magazines and they're honest, communicative and more worthy of your money.

I came all the way over here after work to look for a specific magazine and I got there are at 8:30 and it was already closed and locked up. It's extremely unprofessional to close so much earlier then the supposed closing time and inconsiderate of customers who are going out of their way to come to this shop.

I placed an online order and it was never delivered. Magazine Cafe refused to assist in any way, which I have never experienced with a retailer. Do not order from this company - there is no customer service and it is a scam.

You need a magazine. Any kind. They probably have it. Less of a cafe to me, more of a magazine shop. I walked in looking to chill and read and have coffee and wifi and that was not what I happened upon. It was still nice with a crazy selection of magazines, just not what I expected, but the guy on duty was super friendly and inviting.

never, NEVER order a magazine subscription from these people. October 2014 I ordered a Paris Vogue subscription. It is July 2015 and I have only received ONE magazine--there is 10 in a subscription. They are con-artists and deserve no one's money. Go elsewhere.

I was approached and greeted at the door. I was asked if I needed any help and the employee promptly helped me dig up magazines. Note: this isn't a clothing store. It's a magazine store. I got better customer service here than when I'm looking for a shirt in a certain size. There's certainly a large selection of magazines. The international ones are usually fashion and beauty.

Order a subscription for a German magazine and paid with PayPal. Never received any feedback like an order number so I called the company only to find out they claim to have no record of this order! Filed a claim with PayPal to get my money back - $88 - and based on the answer from the company - this is an invalid claim!!! - I am not getting my money back nor will I ever get any magazines. Strangely enough, they still over a subscription for this magazine but hiked the price by 50%!! Bottom line - stay away from this company!!!!

Terrible website - spent two days trying to subscribe to a magazine. Website is amateurish at best. Entered all my information and then could not get it to complete, tried again just now, then called their 212 number - spoke to a man with heavy accent. He was very rude to me, told me to change my browser to Chrome or Firefox, said that the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported. When I said Explorer is the most used browser in the world, he had more rude comments and hung up on me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH these awful people.

Do not use this store for remote orders. I placed an order in September that never arrived. I made multiple phone calls and was told it would arrive soon. The last time I emailed was December 20th, and they told me they'd get back to me in two days. By December 28th, I had no response, so I called again. They told me they'd cancelled the order December 21 -- but they never bothered to contact me to tell me this! Avoid for Internet orders.

a place by my job to pick up newspapers, magazines and foreign reading also. they also sell beverages. coffee, teas, snacks and full lottery stuff. the guys who work here are really nice fellows. the long place have a self service coffee stand to the front right then wall to wall shelves with all types of mags. plenty of domestic and international reading material ,and some of the prices are crazy high. also cigs and lighters, and phone cards. in the extreme back to the right are the smut mags for perverts(porcelli and nunu). you can order a magazine, if its out of stock and pick it up the next day. a huge selection of fashion mags and being in the fashion district it makes sense. i will stick with my people mag which comes out early wednesday afternoon and my daily morning newspapers and i am a happy camper. P.S. the greeting cards are on sale.

So, I am an out-of-towner who frequently travels for a living. Sure enough I enjoy my work as I constantly encounter a wide array of places that leave me with lasting impressions, good and bad. And, then there are places that not only meet your needs as a consumer, but, truly make it worthwhile for you to remain loyal to them. One such place is Magazine Café, located right in the heart of the city between 5th & 6th avenue. I only stumbled upon this treasure of magazines during my recent visits to the city, for both business and leisure purposes. I remember, the very first time I was just shopping at the flagship stores when this elegant looking "Magazine Café", caught my attention. With no particular desire to buy a magazine at that very moment, I walked into the store more out of curiosity and what a pleasant surprise awaited the ardent reader in me. I was simply amazed at the vast arrangement of books and magazines this place carried in every category may it be domestic or international. I personally enjoy fashion magazines from around the globe to keep up with the ongoing trends and I do not believe there was a magazine I could not find here. Not into fashion? No worries. They carry magazines for all interests: Arts, architecture, Food, Travel, Foreign Language, Computers, Business, etc. you name it and they have it. In case they do not, they will gladly get it for you. Not just that, their prices are very reasonable and the staff was quite helpful as well as courteous. The atmosphere was so relaxing and what could be better than a cup of coffee to compliment it with. Yes, it is indeed a reader's dream. I spent much more time than I had expected and also ended up buying a couple of magazines of my interest. I have now been to the Magazine Café a few times and must say I still leave the place with the same satisfying experience as I did the first time. I strongly recommend this place and can say without any hesitance that you shall not be disappointed.

Yesterday, the employee at the counter took my debit card behind the counter for several minutes and asked me for my pin. Today $300 is missing from my account. Will never be going back

MAGAZINE CAFE took excellent care of my order. The particular ELLE UK magazine I wanted was one my Granddaughter had been looking for since the end of July, 2013. By accident, Magazine Cafe's site appeared and there was the magazine I wanted! I called to make sure they still had the Sept. issue and the gentleman I spoke with was very nice and checked to be sure they still had copies. I placed the order right away and the magazine arrived about a week later and in PERFECT condition. THANK YOU, Magazine Cafe!!! I was so PLEASED to find you and to do business with you. I Love Magazine Cafe! I ordered multiple copies of a magazine with Britney Spears on the cover. There were 3 different covers and a gentleman named Baru was very helpful. He modified my order & was awesome to deal with. My magazines arrived promptly & I will order in the future.

Best magazine store in NYC, especially for international fashion mags. If you can't find it, they go out of their way to search around and find what you need for you. Way better that overrated All Around The World, even if it has a smaller selection.

I have been trying to get a refund from Magazine Cafe for over a year now. I purchased a year subscription (4 issues), but I only received half of the issues (2/4) that I was promised. I have been in contact with them, and they have expressed that there are delays with the magazine publisher, though I can see that the magazine is out and for sale on the shelf. Clearly, I am not going to receive the magazines and at this point, I don't know if I will ever receive a refund. I will NEVER do business with Magazine Cafe again.

I order a lot of foreign magazines from here, and have been to the store as well. A very nice selection, with a lot of hard to find issues. They have some back issues too, and sometimes you can find something really good. You have to patient sometimes for your order as it can take a while for editions to come in from Australia or Asia, but that happens at any magazine store.

As a fashion designer, I appreciate the magazines that are hard to find on fashion accessories. I ordered two and they arrived immediately. Thanks for the great service!

The staff is absolutely wonderful! They know every magazine, are very courteous and extremely helpful - they even call me to let me know when new magazines that I want come in! They also offer shipping so its very convenient to pick up a ton of magazines and just send them. They have a truly impressive selection of domestic & international magazines, every possible trend & trade magazine you could need in any design field. Definitely the best & most organized magazine store in NY!

Haven't been there in person but have ordered from them. I applaud their selection. International magazines are harder to find than you'd think it would be in this internet age. Anyway, shipping was fast and the magazines are reasonably priced. If there was anything, its that the magazine I got was a bit nicked around the edges and there was no more and it was an annual collector's edition. Sigh.

These people can be deceiving. I was told over the phone I could order a previous issue of a magazine, but that I had to do it online (they would not take the order over the phone). I ordered the magazine online and wrote a note in the comments section explaining the specific issue that I wanted. I received the wrong issue in the mail and after calling the store they denied that I ever wrote a note and said past issues are never sold through the store. Now I am stuck with a $40 magazine I don't even want. I will never buy anything again from this store.

I ordered a soccer magazine subscription from them online. When it failed to show up in my mailbox after 8 weeks, I called, and Magazine Cafe had another issue sent via DHL with a tracking number to ensure I received it. Not only do they have a great selection, but they are willing to answer my detailed questions in regards to condition and packaging. I really like Manny at Magazine Café. He was extremely helpful, courteous and patient. I had a difficult time locating an International magazine from Italy called Abitare. I called every magazine and book store in the New Jersey/New York Metro Area with no luck. I explained to Manny G. my daughter's article was just published in the December issue and I must have it! Magazine Café had 7 issues and Manny was able to find 4 more copies! He called me on my cell phone to give me the exciting news!!! Magazine Café is the best!!!! The customer service is great! I look forward to doing business with you again in the near future.

Magazine Cafe has a wonderful selection and employees that are more than helpful. This business has wonderful customer service. The office I work at is always in need of multiple magazines, I call ahead and check if they have what we need in stock, if I ask they will pull the magazines and have them ready for me when I arrive. I highly recommend this place!

I went to this store trying to get the Korean magazine of vogue. The guy said it would be 25 on the phone, and then the guy in the store said it would be 45! Oh- it gets worse. I went to the sale section in the back to find some back issues, and the guy said he would give me a "Special" discount of 38. Are you kidding? Only go in there looking like you see through their shit.

I paid nearly two hundred dollars for a year's subscription of a monthly magazine and it never arrived. I called and emailed and finally after nearly six months of waiting, I asked for a full refund.

This place sucks! I was hunting for a copy of a certain international magazine that Magazine Cafe had. They said they were holding all of their copies for one person. (No doubt some self-important writer/photographer). But they would give me one of the copies for triple the price. No thanks douche bags. Nothing like taking advantage of those in need. This guy is also probably the first to complain about Western Capitalism and doesn't understand the irony. Thanks for nothing. I'm gonna check one of the other 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 magazine shops in NYC before I ever even think of giving you a dime. And I spend a LOT of money on magazines.
