Google
chef J makes the best Reuben in town. Seriously, juicy pastrami with just the right amount of dressing and hot sauerkraut. The onion rings were legit made right then and the wings were good as well. Great service, great food :-)

Google
Kudos to the bartenders!!! Conveniently located pub full with great vibes. I love how they have 2 bars with very comfortable seating . The service and food is great . Reasonably priced . No complaints

#1 Go birds #2 I’m from out of town and was looking for a good cheesesteak. Jake had a smile on his face and immediately welcomed us in. We felt comfortable sitting down with our kids. Had a very enjoyable meal. Even the guy running the food was very pleasant. I will say the kids meals are a bit overpriced but that’s my only complaint. Overall great food, good vibes and welcoming atmosphere. I am not upset we took the time to stop here! Will definitely come back! Thanks for being so friendly and welcoming Jake! We appreciate you!

Google
really anticipated this place known for “Philly cheesesteak” uhhhh… mehhh- I mean it was cheesesteakinn but not a lot of meat and as u can see in pic onion rings fried hard in old grease, a bit burnt tasting…. Overall NOT WORTH drive n money

Stopped by for dinner on a Thursday evening. We arrived in time for happy hour beer and stayed for the half price cheese steaks after 7pm. Can't wait to come back!

Tuesday Lunch with Will is consistently the best meal of my week. He knows the menu inside and out, makes great suggestions, drinks, and conversation. Playlist is always bumping as well!

Google
I had the best experience. Chloe was amazing and the food was perfect. The price point was great for 3 entrees and I never had cheese wiz on wings before. The atmosphere was chill and I would def go back.

Okay Okay

Google
This place has a horrible smell. It's a mixture of old beer, sewer water, and an old mop. 3 different tables were sticky and it just felt dirty overall inside. I had a group of 3. The one hamburger looked like it was boiled in water. No sear or browning. The cheesesteak with wiz looked like dog food slop. And the cheesesteak with provolone came out dry and cold. (See 3 pictures) Half of the cheesesteak with wiz was eaten. The other two were left behind. The french fries were good! The old bay wings were crispy and had a really good size. But the wings lacked flavor. Even with the old bay, they were bland. The blue cheese sauce was one of the best I ever had. And the blueberry lemonade crush was solid. It tasted like soda. The staff was friendly. They seemed to be a little understaffed and rushed a few things. My order did not come out with the two things I asked for. And it came out cold like it had been forgotten about. The burger order came out wrong the first time and was sent back. I would never come back here.

Yelp
When people ask, I usually tell them I'm from filly so I know what trash smells like. But originally, I'm from class, Montgomery county, to be exact, Potomac Maryland to be more exact. These fellas make the most extraordinary filly cheese steaks I've ever put in my mouth, and I've put many things in my mouth. If you are craving an original filly cheesesteak without having to go to bum crab sports filly, then come to magerks. Home of the fillideplhia Eagles, cheesesteaks, and Rocky's

Yelp
This pub took me by surprise. My friend told me about a spot with great philly's and I had to give it a try. It was a game day in Baltimore for the orioles, so the pub became busy as soon as we sat down. We sat at the bar which wasn't too noisy. They do offer upstairs and downstairs traditional tabletop seating. The bartender was attentive and asked for our drink orders right away. I ordered water as was saving my taste buds for a sandwich. I decided on the chicken Philly and I added fried onions. It came with a pickle and potato chips. My friend ordered the Philly egg rolls with sweet potato fries. The food came out and the sandwich was huge. It was no way I was going to eat the whole thing. I took a bite and fell in love. It was so juicy and flavorful. I tried the egg rolls and geez, so goooood!!!! I will be back to get another one when I'm back in Baltimore!

Yelp
The last few visits have been positive. The Jam-On burger is a must for us and ask of a little JO sauce on the side. It's a great burger if you like blue cheese. Also got the MaGerk Salad with cranberries, candied nuts and vinaigrette. Good stuff and our waiter was on the top of his game.

Yelp
Lemme just start off by saying Magerks is a special place. Great food, decently priced beers, all the TVs you'd ever need, and usually a pretty good soundtrack too. Now that being said, you might be able to find other places that also hit that criteria but Magerks has some sort of gravitational pull to it. When I think about why there are a few things it could be but definitely one that takes the cake. Obviously half price cheesesteak night is everyone's favorite night of the week. Go in, get you a cheesesteak, hang with friends, have 100 beers, vibes are high. It's just a great time every week but that's not it. Maybe it's having the best seat to watch the game no matter where you are? Nah still not it. The main thing that keeps me coming back is everyone's favorite bartender Courtney. Every time I walk into Magerks I'm greeted with a smile and my go to beer. She always knows when we (my kickball team) show up on cheesesteak night that we mean business. She wastes no time and makes sure she gets all our orders in asap! We usually go and find a table if there isn't enough space for all of us at the bar. No matter how busy it gets in there, Courtney never forgets about her customers. She regularly makes her rounds to all the tables to make sure your cup never runs dry! I even got fussed at (jokingly) one time for helping clean up the table because she wanted to provide the best service she could. Yes Magerks is just another bar but very few even come close when you have a bartender like Courtney! Also shoutout to the rest of the staff on half price cheesesteak night for handling business every week!

Yelp
Always a fun time at Magerks for Eagles games. They truly have the best vibe and the food and service are always top notch no matter how busy they get. Probably the best traditional bar food in Baltimore.
google avatar

Kara G.

Yelp
I love courtney.. she is the best , everything is reasonable and she took care of me .. make sure yall come here !!!
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
Courtney at Magerks is the best. She quickly takes your order and always remembers your usual order, having it ready for you as she sees you walk in. I already came to Magerks frequently, but Courtney ensures I will always be coming back.

Yelp
I love coming here to watch the Eagles games. It's the designated Philadelphia/Eagles bar of Baltimore. They have an upstairs and downstairs area with plenty of TVs throughout. They offer bar and high top table seating with a couple low top tables that can accommodate bigger groups. I recommend getting here early on Eagles game days, as it can get pretty crowded. I got there 30 minutes before the game on Monday night and was able to grab one of the last spots at the bar. It was such a great atmosphere being surrounded by fellow Eagles fans who would chant during an Eagles touchdown! The bar food here is delicious and I almost always get the buffalo chicken egg rolls as they are my absolute favorite! They are also known for having really good cheesesteaks, which have never disappointed me either.

Yelp
The bar manager is amazing! We were in town from Philly and needed a spot to watch the game. My husband asked for a nonalcoholic beer and they were out. We still decided to stay to watch the game. The place was packed! Standing room only. It was amazing. During halftime the bar manager walked through the door with a bag. In that bag was nonalcoholic beer for my husband. She went out of her way to make sure he was included. She's the best! Now for the patrons... a young man gave up his seat so I could sit down. Everyone was nice and having fun. The Eagles chants and Fly Eagles Fly made us forget we weren't at home. I will be in town for a few months for work and this will definitely be my spot for the Eagles games! Go Birds! Go Magerks!

Yelp
Went because I saw that this place got really good reviews on cheesesteaks in downtown Baltimore. And I must say my Yelp community did not fail me. Got a cheesesteak and it was really good. Price was extremely reasonable. Also, I've been here three times so far once to sit in and twice to go when I sat in service was really goodwaitress was super attentive. It was really small in there but like most places in downtown Fed Hill that are sports bars I didn't expect too much as far as seating. Try a few things off the menu, but mostly come for the cheesesteaks.

Yelp
This pub is a great place to grab a drink. Our bartender was very friendly and attentive. The drinks were very good and the atmosphere was outstanding. This pub surrounded by numerous restaurants and places to visit. I highly recommend this pub if you wanna hang out with friends or just grab a drink.

Erica S.

Yelp
Chicken cheese steak was very good. The onion rings were the best along with the sauce. My son had a cheese steak with fries and he loved it. I will definitely be eating there again soon.

Yelp
Great wings! Great sport history! Fast service! Nice bar with good music, pictures and food! The real deal!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a Wednesday day to watch the World Series game. It was great to watch the game on multiple screens while dining. My friends and I got the Chicken Cheesesteak and Tater Tots. There is ample seating--bar seating and high top. Overall great atmosphere and think this would be a great place to watch sports. Cheesesteak came with a bag of UTZ chips and a pickle! Pro: Atmosphere Con: Can get super busy m
google avatar

Joe L.

Yelp
Cheesesteak hoagie was very good and with the game showing on multiple screens, happy hour prices on draft beer....you had the best seat in town!
google avatar

Paula B.

Yelp
Great wings and cold beer! Love that it's right next door to the 8x10 music venue. No photos to share, but definitely loved visiting during a day of good weather. The doors and windows were propped open and the vibe was casual and relaxed.
google avatar

Yelp
Best Philly Cheesesteak I've had. Easily in contention for my favorite pub in Baltimore. Calm setting during the day and on weekend nights the place turns into a great party!
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
A group of friends and I decided to do our own bar crawl. Magerk's Pub was one of the bars we stopped by. It was a cool space and the mixed drinks were good. At least my Long Island Iced Tea was! We didn't order any food so I can't comment on that aspect of the bar. We had a great time sharing laughs and drinks at Magerk's. I can definitely see myself coming back here if we do another crawl! Next time I'll try the food.

Yelp
Ok why didn't I know Magerks had bomb ass cheesesteaks??? Where have I been and why didn't I get here sooner? My office is downtown but I work in the neighborhood often. I've been here, but I can't remember a single thing about that visit so I definitely didn't get a cheesesteak cuz its basically unforgettable. Apparently the owner is from Philly and it shows. I haven't had a better steak outside Philadelphia and I will literally NEVER order one from anywhere else in Baltimore. The steak is juicy but not greasy like so many other places who shall remain nameless. The roll is soft and no doubt made fresh every morning. You can get it with all the Baltimore fixings LTO, mayo, but I'm a purist and you should be too (yes im judging you). I got the #1 which is just steak, provolone cheese (not whiz, I lied im not that pure), and fried onions with hots! Done! Killed the whole thing. Comes with Utz and a pickle. Best $10 I spent all month!
google avatar

Jen F.

Yelp
This place has the best Philly cheesesteaks, fries and especially cheesesteak egg rolls. I say this being from Philly. Food alway excellent. What made this visit special was Leia (spell?). The place was mobbed on a game day and she was the only bartender. She was friendly, fast and attentive under very stressful circumstances.
google avatar

Jay D.

Yelp
I came here for a Ravens game and seriously, the food, beer, staff, atmosphere, it's all great. The bartenders were attentive when they needed to be, the TV's are big and located everywhere, and the cheesesteaks are surprisingly good!! The posters/decor is seemingly random (which I love), and the staff all wear custom Magerks gear (which is cute). No complaints at all. I highly recommend coming here to watch whatever NFL game (not sure if they play other things) you're into!

Icey S.

Yelp
I sat for 15 minutes. Not one person asked for drinks. Ended up Leaving due to poor service .
google avatar

Leah M.

Yelp
What a great place for a drink and a cheesesteak. Great prices and great pours. Nice little bar in the middle of Federal Hill. Great American food. The place feels like home, where you can chill, have a drink, eat a sandwich and head home.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Best Cheesesteak outside of Philly. Daytime bartender/manager was very nice too.
google avatar

Kittrell P.

Yelp
Me and the Wife visit Magerks Pub today for lunch. We choose to sit by the window today because it was nice out. We ordered our Favorites, the Old Bay Wings and the Chicken and Cheese Eggrolls with Green Peppers and Onions. OMG. It was Good as Always. Can't Go Wrong Here. Must Try!!!
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
I can see why this place was so busy on a Tuesday night. Friendly, prompt & helpful service. My salmon salad with arugula, artichokes & olives was awesome! I will be back next time I'm in the area.

Jessica L.

Yelp
best cheesesteak you'll get in Baltimore hands down- coming from a Philly girl born and raised! But I'm a sucker for the cheesesteak egg rolls. I get them every time. great bar food all around & best place to come for Philly sports!! love you magerks
google avatar

Vicky L.

Yelp
My husband and I had been meaning to try the cheesesteaks here forever and I wish we'd tried sooner! I'm originally from the Philly suburbs and gave up on finding anything that would live up to the cheesesteaks of my childhood but the cheesesteaks here do! I will also mention that due to a totally honest misunderstanding via telephone ordering, we got hots on our cheesesteak instead of tots on the side. The bartender offered to fix but we didn't have time. I was very nervous this would ruin the experience for me BUT even with the hots this was still the best cheesesteak I've had in Baltimore and ranks with those in Philly! My only complaint is that ya need to get online ordering at this location (they have at all the others) and our misunderstanding would have been completely avoided. But all in all, really glad we finally tried it and we'll be back but I promise my husband will enunciate "tots" better next time

Yelp
Not the best, but not the worst. That is how I would describe Magerks if I was asked. Being from the Boston area I have been to my fair share of Irish pubs and this fits the bill for what you would expect. The uniqueness of this pub is its tie to the city of brotherly love...Philadelphia. Not only does this place pack up wall to wall for Eagle's game, but their gameday menu also compliments the Philly love with a variety of cheesesteaks. Luckily, I was in good company of an "insider" with knowledge of what makes a true Philly cheesesteak. Although she often smiles whenever any type of food is in front of her, she ensured that these cheesesteaks were legit. I could tell not only by the smile but also the lack of breathing while scarfing it down. Honest review is that you get what you expect coming to a play like this. I would be back to watch some sports, grab a beer, and enjoy some casual pub food with a Philly twist. "E-A-G-L-E-S - Eagles!"

Yelp
COME HERE FOR MONDAY TRIVIA NIGHT!! Do not let your fear of failing stop you!! but actually this is a great bar in Fed Hill for hanging out with friends, there's a great variety of food and a decent beer selection. Happy Hour is half off munchies and $2.50 select drafts! My favorite dish was by far the Crab Dip -- cheesy heaven on earth, with some good ass bread to dip with (celery and carrots too for you rabbits out there). The Fried Mac n Cheese balls, Mozzarella sticks, and Chicken Tenders were alright, but good for the happy hour price. Back to Trivia Night, I had never been to any trivia night before but the host made us feel so comfortable and it was a fun time. We'll definitely be back for more of that crab dip!! And to win some free shots from trivia night.

Finally a Cheesesteak that's somewhat on par with a real philly steak...the last steak I had from a spot that will remain nameless brung me a cheesesteak on a hotdog roll :/...so back to this place...Service was great, place was clean..but you want to hear about the cheese steak right... OK, I honestly felt like I was at a spot in philly wasnt delessandros quality but was def good I give the steak a 3.5 out of 5..I like soft rolls and top quality steak u can tell that wsnt the case here...but it was delicious none the less...filled with meat cheesy and tasty

Yelp
U-M....B-C! After UMBC upset UVA in the NCAA tournament, the city was crawling with UMBC students. The next game was against Kansas State. In preparation for the game, Magerks reserved the top floor for UMBC students/alumni only! Although we lost the game, the food experience at the pub saved my night. I order a cheesesteak sub and sweet potato fries. The cheesesteak was the best that I've ever had. That is not an understatement. Just two days prior, I had cheesesteaks in Philly. I ate at Pat's AND Geno's. Magerks was better lol. People are always going to hate and say, "you can't like Magerks better than a classic Philly Cheesesteak from Philly!" But you know what I always say? Humans are meant to innovate and get better, and that's exactly what Magerks did! - VVP

Charrica G.

Yelp
The cheesesteaks are delicious. I love being able to get an authentic Philly cheesesteak without the 1+ hour drive.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
As someone who grew up in PA and knows the standard that they set cheesesteaks at, MaGerk's was a great surprise for a good cheesesteak. I can't speak to all cheesesteaks on the menu but the #4 Philly is the best bet for capturing the feel of East Passyunk Ave. Cheesesteaks are a big part of the bar but the bar itself is a great place to grab an afternoon or even evening drink. Going for a game or to meet friends, this pub makes for a good place to grab relatively cheap drafts. Hard to find places with such good drink prices on a Friday and Saturday. All day Saturday is $3 drafts. This is a repeat place for me. The only downfall is t can get crowded.
google avatar

Leo D.

Yelp
Even though I visited this place on Monday, it was almost full with people dancing and enjoying their evenings. Bartender was really nice trying to serve everyone in a timely manner. Their cheeseburger is delicious so make sure you try it before leaving. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that i saw two fights starting (but hopefully those people left and went outside so there was no actual fist fighting inside the restaurant). 4 stars for this place overall. I would recommend this place to those people who want to go out to dance and stay until late (we left at 12:30 a.m. so I am assuming it's open until late).

David W.

Yelp
Came in at 5:30 pm on a Sunday and tried to order some food after a football game and they said they were done serving food. Gross. Distasteful. Sad.
google avatar

Sebastian P.

Yelp
Not the best bar on earth but she sure gets the job done. Best cheesesteak outside of Philly also its a must. Go Birds...
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
This Philadelphia Eagles bar in the middle of Baltimore's Federal Hill is know for slopping out delicious cheesesteak after delicious cheesesteak with bread straight from Philly and cheese whiz which is rare in Baltimore cheesesteak spots. The two pro tips for this spots ( other than the cheesesteak) is the cheesesteak eggrolls and the wings. Both should not be missed.
google avatar

Kenneth E.

Yelp
I came here with a friend on a Thursday, which I guess is cheesesteak night. Pretty much everyone I met in Baltimore came up to me asked me if I was going to cheesesteak night. I was a bit confused about why everyone was coming to this bar and getting the cheesesteaks, but after having one, I'm a true believer. We got here at 7:30ish and the place was pretty full already. However, when the Eagles game started at around 8:30, the place became packed out. People were standing around buckets of beer and having a grand ole time. Good vibes only in this place. We ordered a bucket of 5 beers for $15 (WHAT? Maybe it's cause I'm from NYC, but seriously that's amazing) and three cheesesteaks for $5 each (again I'm dumbfounded). I thought the cheesesteaks were going to be like cheesesteak sliders at this price point. They brought the cheesesteaks out and oh hot damn, they were packed with meat. My favorite way to have a sandwich ;). I had the Magerk Cheesesteak. It was steak with white american, fried onions, tomatoes and hard cooked salami with Russian dressing. My oh my. That salami was the perfect bed for all that steak and it was cooked to perfection. I can't explain how good it was, you just have to come. Then they have a bag of utz chips on the side. Utz utz utz. They have a pizzasteak which I think is a similar concept, except it has pepperoni instead of salami and pizza sauce instead of Russian dressing. I'm already planning a trip back to Baltimore to come get it.

Yelp
A local recommendation brought us here for dinner on a Tuesday night. Both people that took care of us were great, very friendly and attentive. We ordered mozz sticks and wings for appetizers. The wings were great, definitely best I've had in a while. I tried one of their signature cheesesteaks and was NOT disappointed. We also ordered a couple different burgers and a shrimp wrap and everybody really enjoyed their food. We have 2 12 year olds so seating at a table is a must and they had a nice quiet one in the back. Perfect place for dinner, definitely coming back for the bar next time!
google avatar

Joseph F.

Yelp
I was here last Saturday night for a late night dinner. It was packed but I still found a table off to the side. Waiter/bartender took my drink and food order promptly. I had the Philly Cheesesteak Passynuk Ave style. It was good but it could have had more onions and cheese on it. Magerks seems like a popular local Federal Hill hangout and I will definitely be back next time I'm in Charm City for a burger and happy hour! Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Pretty much just got a beer from here. Seems like a standard irish pub/sports bar, with spacious ceiling, big open windows, and a dual bar setup
google avatar

Susan H.

Yelp
Was disappointed after reading reviews, seeing the cool building and the festive crowd. (Acoustics leave something to be desired- a noisy place!) The service was spotty (and there was plenty of staff!) and the food, while good, was overpriced. I had the crab cake which was meaty and good (I think the menu says crab cakeS...) but the potatoes and asparagus were both bland; even some parsley would have made the potatoes seem like someone in the kitchen made an effort with the sides..... My guest had the lobster roll. He said it was good but for $22 it came with a dollop of coleslaw (in a ramekin like a side of ketchup is served in) and a bag of chips. Food trucks do better than that with a lobster roll! That more than anything left a bad taste in our mouths, and left us leaving grumbling.
google avatar

Alaena M.

Yelp
This my husbands go to spot for anything sport related. My husband is a Philadelphia fan and this is a Philadelphia bar. Makes sense right ? The crowd is always fun and it's a great place to watch other games too (as long as the Eagles or Flyers aren't playing)! We came here most recently on a Thursday night because it's half off cheesesteaks night starting at 6:30. I've tried a lot of Philly Cheesesteaks and the #4 is pretty darn close to my favorite one in Philadelphia! They usually have other sweet deals during the week too. I definitely would recommend making a trip out here for the cheesesteaks, especially if you're a fan of the ones from Philly!
google avatar

Demond S.

Yelp
Had lunch here yesterday with client and colleagues. Located in a very nice and upcoming neighborhood in Baltimore on South Charles St. The wings were best on the area. By far, the best cheese steak I have had in Baltimore.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
I actually really like this bar; good vibes, great food. However, my friend and I were sitting there for solid 4 hours and it seems like we didn't get a single buy back on a round. Was a bit off putting. Check was a bit heavy, had it not been, I'd have tipped more, and also considered coming back. I know plenty of bars in the area that take a little better care of their customers. I know times are tough now, but there should be a bit of give and take on both sides.
google avatar

Dee M.

Yelp
As a life long Philadelphian who just moved to Federal Hill, I 100% recommend this place for your cheesesteak cravings. I've been to a ton of places in Maryland and nothing else compares. This is the real thing and I'm not talking slabs of beef like Pat's and Geno's. I'm talking chopped up beef with the sweets and hots like you get at the corner store made by your Korean "uncle", who practically helped raised you named Mr. Kim. It's this level of authentic Philly cheesesteak. Only people who grew up in a Philly neighborhood could truly appreciate how amazing this is. Can't wait to come back to watch Eagles games dressed in my all green!!!
google avatar

Zach D.

Yelp
It's a great spot for drinking before and after Ravens games or just in general. They've been around forever and always have great drink specials. The cheesesteaks are what they're known for. Bartenders are always good.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Magerks has the best Philly Cheesesteak outside of Philly. Their cheesesteaks are akin to Dalessandro's. More than fulfilled my craving!
google avatar

Pat P.

Yelp
Very cool bar if your a philly fan, which apparently there are a bunch in Baltimore. They always have any philly sports game on, eagles, flyers, Phillies, etc I usually get they're cheese steaks which are very solid, but nothing compared to an authentic philly cheese steak from philly, but they don't do a bad job. Drink specials are legit, overall solid pub
