Maggiano's Little Italy

From the moment we walked through the door, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, inviting atmosphere immediately transported us to a cozy trattoria in the heart of Italy. Our server Max greeted us like family, and the service throughout the afternoon was impeccable. The dishes were masterfully prepared—the pasta was perfectly al dente. You could taste the quality of every ingredient and the care that went into each dish. Thank you a first time awesome experience!!

Visited Southpark and this excellent restaurant. Atmosphere was up beat and relaxing, the service by Abby excellent informative and efficient. The facilty reminds me of a old style Italian restaurant from NYC which I have experienced. There is near by public and valet parking. I was deeply appreciative of their military discount and appreciation of service. They seemed proud to honor your military service personnel. All in all a great experience and I encourage everyone to visit and "say high to Abby". The bolenase was large size and very tasty with sausage, beef, carrots and onions. I had the Maggiano's salad with blue cheese, mixed greens, avocados, bacon and red onion.

My husband and I went here for the first time earlier today , Sept 26th for late lunch at around 2:00 PM. Our server was so nice and attentive! From the moment we got in, everyone was smiling and greeted us promptly. Their food is also really delicious in my opinion. I liked the Wagyu meatballs that we ordered! Overall, service was excellent, the ambiance was amazing, people are friendly and their food and presentation were also very good! We will be back!

This was my first time trying Maggiano’s , my partner is from up north and has raved about this restaurant and how great it was. Well that was not my experience We ordered a Strawberry and a Raspberry Lemonade right away our waiter brought out a Mango one instead of the strawberry, which was fine people make mistakes. We proceeded to get the bread it was okay for the better part. We placed our order she got the Branzino imperial crab and I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, my chicken was burnt and dry the pasta and sauce were cold , her asparagus and mashed potatoes were ice cold. Our food was also not brought by our waiter but a different guy who had two other tables as well. Which probably was the reason for cold food, we also waited 10 minutes for our server to come back we never received any silverware to eat the food with we had to ask another server. The server we had would disappear for extended periods of time.I asked for my food to be reheated they cooked it again, brought it out once again no silverware. After that I just asked for the check I didn’t even want the food anymore. They gave us a dessert which was also not good they could’ve at least asked if we wanted something different, nothing was offered. For our food to have been one hundred dollars I would expect a better dining experience . Overall, I wouldn’t visit this location again maybe it’s just this one but I was disappointed by the entire experience.

Maggiano’s at SouthPark never disappoints! The customer service is always exceptional and the staff is friendly, attentive, and truly makes you feel welcome. The food is consistently delicious, fresh and the drinks are always made perfectly. My mom and I always go here when we do our shopping trips and always get the Rigotoni D it’s our favorite dish. We travel from the Columbia South Carolina area which is almost 2 hours away and always look forward to eating here! We wish they had one by us! Every visit is a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this location for anyone looking for amazing Italian food and outstanding service!

This restaurant was crowded.(at South Park Mall )The wait was 35 minutes. It was a long wait for everything..The food was ok.. I had eaten at the restaurant years ago, so I wanted to try it again. The waitress was cordial, but too busy to handle a large party and other guest at the same time. My meal entree was not what I had ordered..so the wait was even longer. If I go back and can’t get seated when I arrive. I will not wait, because the service won’t be good.

This was my 1st time attending this restaurant. I choose it from the sign outside. I like trying new restaurants. Sure enough I walked in and immediately had a classic scence. I went in and asked for a table. I was told the tables near the bar are open. I went ahead and sat down. I got a menu with a glass of water to start off. I got a spaghetti 🍝 and it was filling. The amount of noodles took me by surprise. It is plenty and very delicious. Everyone was friendly. Even the coworkers had high spirits. I notice everyone loving their food. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food and actualy good chicken Alfredo. Fish was cooked perfect, the beef tips and meatballs were amazing. Authentic wonderfull taramisu and lemon cookies for desert. Had a wonderful time here with the family.

Well, it has been a while since I come here. It has changed, and not in a good way. We came here on a Sunday afternoon for early dinner late lunch. It was not that busy, but the service is not good. First of all the food was ok, it was Hot and tasted good, the price is higher than other chain Italian restaurants , it should make it up by the experience for the high price but the experience at the restaurant is not good. Here is the whole experience: We arrived and were quickly seated by the entrance, which I don't have a problem with the location, but the seat was not clean. We didn't have silverware sets on the table. So we cleaned the table ourselves and later found a used napkin on the floor at my booth. The waitress was nice and kind, I told her about the silverware after ordering the food, our appetizer came out before we got our silverware. The hostess has to bring us Silverware set and she also brought our bread for us. I still think our waitress is not too bad, but just the attention to details. Later on while we eating other waiters and waitresses starting to hangout by the host area and just have his whole body on the booth, I just found that very uncomfortable. I don't think I will be coming back soon, the problem with chain restaurants, is they don't care too much as long as someone still comes in. Looking at other reviews for this location, they don't seem to care about reviews. If I have to pay this high price okay good with below average service, I will just go to other restaurants that have better service. Don't recommend this place.

I went here with family on Thanksgiving knowing there would be massive quantities of food, plenty for leftovers. Let's face it, this is a chain, so the food won't be of the quality of a small, independent restaurant, but it's good. We had the Caesar and house salads, Rigatoni Alla Vodka and baked ziti, salmon, turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli, apple crostada (I think) and pumpkin cheesecake. The salmon wasn't my favorite though there wasn't really anything wrong with it. Food may be a little over-salted, too much sugar, a dash too much nutmeg in an otherwise delicious cheesecake, but none of that would stop me from going back on occasion for the value. Our server was great, and the holiday decorated ambiance was pleasant. Just make sure to bring a jacket because it's a little cold in there.

Maggiano's Little Italy is a chain restaurant that falls somewhere between casual and fancy, while providing a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels classic like a blast from the past. This location here at the South Park Mall has been the scene of many family nights out, prom night dinners, and all kinds of celebrations. The inside feels like an hour of school hotel, with high ceilings, a separate bar room, and a mezzanine overlooking the main dining area. Historic pictures adorn the walls as mementos of days past, and hits from Sinatra, Dean Martin and the likes set the mood. I recently came in on Thanksgiving with my girlfriend and her parents, and they have a great Thanksgiving special for those who don't wish to cook. For $55.00 per person, you get a family style meal that includes two salads, your choice of two out of three meats, two out of six pastas, and two out of three desserts. That's not all though, while the entrees come with sides, you also get to select two additional sides! It turned into a feast. The service was great, and when we ran out of mashed potatoes and turkey they were quick to provide a top off for both! With that much food we got some to-go boxes, and had leftovers for all! While there are plenty of new and trendy Italian restaurants, I think it would be a mistake to write off places like Maggiano's. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service.

Made my way to Maggiano's for a celebration. Appetizer: Wagyu Beef Meatballs The meal began with an order of Wagyu Beef Meatballs--an enticing blend of rich Wagyu beef nestled in a tangy tomato sauce, served alongside a generous dollop of whipped ricotta. While the presentation was inviting, the meatballs themselves leaned toward the dry side. However, when thoughtfully assembled--swirled through the sauce and finished with a touch of the ricotta--the dish revealed a more harmonious bite, suggesting that the elements were meant to work together rather than shine individually. Notably, the accompanying bread was a standout. I'm not sure what sort of alchemy the kitchen applied to it, but its crisp exterior made it utterly irresistible. Entrée: Fettuccine Bolognese The Fettuccine Bolognese featured a well-balanced medley of Italian sausage, beef, onions, carrots, and a tomato ragu gently infused with white wine. The sauce was subtle and restrained--although perhaps too little so for the American palate, which often craves a more lavish coating of sauce. Still, the flavors were cohesive, with each ingredient complementing the others without overshadowing the whole. The pasta itself was cooked to a perfect al dente, providing a satisfying textural contrast to the rich meat sauce draped across it. Cocktail: Limoncello Prosecco Unfortunately, the Limoncello Prosecco proved to be a misstep. A cocktail that should have been a bright, effervescent ode to citrus and celebration was instead muted by the ill-considered addition of ice. As the cubes melted, they diluted the vibrant lemon essence, resulting in a drink that tasted more like sparkling water with a whisper of what could have been. I know this is a chain but I had never been to one before and I actually really liked it. The interior had a very fun vibe that was perfect for dinner with colleagues. We sat in the bar area and our server was fantastic, she had great recommendations for both food and drink and was very attentive. The food was good but not great, I definitely didn't need such large portions but I guess that's part of their thing. Overall I prefer this spot more for drinks and apps than a full meal but I would still come back for dinner.

They sat our party in what felt like an odd spot. They put us at a few mismatched tables that felt like we were seated in a walkway. Granted, we were a party of 12, but we had made our reservation months ago. So that part was kind of weird, but our server (Dez) was really friendly and helpful, and overall we had a very nice time. We ordered a charcuterie tray, mozzarella, and spinach-artichoke dip as appetizers and an array of dishes for our entrees. I tried the spinach-artichoke dip and the lemon-herb salmon, and both were tasty. I didn't hear any complaints from the rest of our party, so I'm guessing they all enjoyed their meals too.

The Cheesecake Factory was over an hour wait. So we came here to the bar and had some good pasta. I got the spaghetti and meatball, it was okay. The calamari was a good choice for appetizer My husband got the shrimp Alfredo. Which was good. Had a bottle of wine to relax after an evening of shopping. Great friendly bar staff.

Came here with my family for an early birthday dinner for my aunt while we were all together. It was very busy, as to be expected on a Saturday afternoon. We made two reservations for our group and were seated near each other. I got the maggiano salad and calamari. I really enjoyed the salad and the calamari was amazing!! So tender & seasoned well!! My fiancé got the stuffed shells which he enjoyed. I got a peach Bellini but it tasted like a sweet slushie, so I gave it to my fiancé to finish for me. I got a pomegranate martini that was really good. The other part of our family got the family style meal which looked great. Definitely will try that next time!!

Came in for a nice lunch and was not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. The server we had was also amazing and had great recommends when it came to drinks. The ambience was great and above all very clean.

I used to go here all the time in Washington DC so excited they have one here. Food still tasted really good, but just sad how restaurants have had to reduce the size of their portions significantly to save cost even when it's supposed to be family style. My favorite appetizer is the stuffed mushrooms and they used to be these giant portobello ones and now they're regular little mushrooms. Our chicken Parmesan meal came out lukewarm, but the place was so busy and we waited forever to get it so we just ate some and took the rest home

An amazing lunch visit. Had not been there in a few years. Celebrating a friend's retirement and our group of 12 wanted for nothing. We sat at a long table but there are booths for intimacy close by. Service was pretty good as we had a pre fixe menu. Everything was delicious and worth the visit: 4 cheese ravioli, spinach and artichoke dip, zuchini fritte, house salad, Caesar salad, beef tenderloin medallions over garlic mashed potatoes. And dessert: vanilla bean ice cream over warm apple crostada. Family style for the win!

I recently visited Maggiano's and it has gone down hill quickly. When we arrived, the hostess completely ignored us -- she greeted and seated guests of another race who came in after us but barely made eye contact with me. After waiting 10 minutes without acknowledgment, we told her we were leaving, and her response was simply, "OK." No apology, no attempt to make things right. The bartender kindly offered to seat and serve us instead, but he was clearly overwhelmed managing the entire bar area on his own. When our food arrived, the Alfredo sauce was practically soup. We waited for fresh Parmesan, but by the time it finally came, we had already finished the meal. To top it off, they charged $4.75 for a soda. Between the lack of basic courtesy at the door, poor service, and disappointing food, this visit left a very bad impression. I've always expected better from Maggiano's, but someone needs to check in on them.

I'm not a fan of Italian food. It's not at all my "go to" cuisine. But I decided to go outside of that box and try something new and I think I may have been missing out over these years cause after having this chicken piccata my mind has completely shifted. I also had the stuffed mushrooms with the chicken stock on the side. The food overall was delicious!! I'll have to give some of the other options a try another time. The waiter did a great job in pointing me in the right direction. The restaurant is dated tho and needs to be updated. The dying flowers didn't help either. Point loss on decor.

The worst customer service every , made reservation still had to wait a hour and watch the host take in walking ins , we were a party of four they sat us right by the elevator where staff was coming and going with other customers food uncovered . Had to keep asking for a waitress or supervisor to get some professional service , but that never happen the only thing that was worth the trip was food besides that I see why people get their food to go or door dash because the service is horrible

Stopped for a drink and light meal. Sat at the bar because the restaurant was fully booked. Enjoyed the service and recommendations that our bartender made. Tomato soup, 2 salads, lasagna. Only complaint was having to witness an over zealous and LOUD manager give militant-like orders to the staff. Management by fear and the staff prioritized his orders over caring for my needs. Had to ask for silverware after food was delivered, for just one example. At these prices, customers expect a higher level of professionalism--and expect not to hear and see it when it's not. We've enjoyed Maggiano's at South Coast Plaza in California for decades. I'd like the same in Charlotte.

The only thing positive thing I can say about this restaurant are that the drinks are strong I had the blackberry bourbon sour. It is always be pretty packed because it's located at Southpark mall. We went on a Saturday in the middle of prom season. We had a party of 11. Our server was Texas he was pretty good. But he seemed to be busy given how crowded the place was. The appetizers were ok, I got that Maggiano salad, it came with avocado, bacon, onions blue cheese salad and the house dressing. I got it without the avocado and blue cheese. The bacon was hard almost burnt, the onion was in chunks and thinly cut. The salad was horrible it didn't even come with tomates. The house dressing was ok. I our order took a while for the food to come out and then it did come, we were missing three orders finally the two came out but every was done with there order. I ordered the chicken Franchise it was made in a more creamy lemons butter sauce, the sauce was too heavy was was horrible. I won't be back!

Huge portion sizes, loved the atmosphere, and amazing service. When our server found out it was our first time there, he gave us an appetizer on the house. For food, we got lasagna and chicken piccata - recommend the lasagna which was amazing. Great spot for a nice but not too expensive dinner out!

We recently visited this restaurant for my son's graduation dinner. The hostess was absolutely magnificent--polite, understanding, and very accommodating as our guest count changed. However, once we were seated, the experience quickly declined. Our waiter seemed annoyed from the start and had a noticeable attitude. At one point, he poured water so carelessly that it spilled on the table, which unfortunately set the tone for the evening. All 12 of us placed our orders at the same time. The food was brought out by other staff--not our waiter--and dishes were handed to the wrong guests, adding to the confusion. One of my guests never received his meal. We brought this to the waiter's attention multiple times, but he did nothing to resolve it, despite returning to the table several times and clearly knowing there was an issue. Eventually, I had to leave the table myself to find another staff member--possibly a manager--who took the matter seriously. He went to the back and ensured the missing meal was prepared. By the time it finally arrived, the rest of us had already finished eating. While the restaurant did comp the meal, the way the situation was handled felt completely unprofessional. On top of that, my own pasta dish was extremely dry and nearly inedible. Thankfully, the person who helped with the missing order also brought out extra sauce, though it didn't do much to improve the dish. Overall, the service was horrendous and completely disorganized. I'm so glad I didn't book a banquet room. I will not be hosting another event here. Even my son said we could have gotten better service at Chick-fil-A.

This place is absolutely charming. We visited mid-day before the rush and chose to sit in the bar area. Unlike other restaurants where the bar area tends to be loud, this spot was pleasantly quiet--our first plus! The second highlight was our amazing waiter, Josh. He was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and overall exceptional. Throughout our visit, our drinks were always full, bread was promptly delivered, and the food arrived hot. Josh truly made our dining experience exceptional.

Food was okay; service was good , ambiance has changed. I was shocked that the layers of the lasagna were lessened and the prices have increased: the quality has seemed to diminish as well. On top of that no more take one home for free. Some Waiters had tattoos on their faces. Just veryunhappy. I don't think I'll be returning to my once favorite Italian restaurant.

The 5 stars is for the service. Desmond was amazing! He was so interactive and so full of life. He needs a raise. Soon as we sat down he brought us some complimentary bread with oil and butter. He asked us if we're celebrating anything today..just A1 service all around from him. I was a little hesitant about this place reading the reviews like an updated Olive Garden, however it did not disappoint. We did family style and loved it. Had plenty of leftovers to take home. I thought it was well worth it. Food was great. The mussels in white sauce were my abs favorite. The bar back had taken the mussels by mistake off the table and Desmond was so kind enough to get us another fresh bowl of it. My toddler devoured the spaghetti and complimentary bread. It's also kid friendly in here which is great. Reservations are a must here. Very happy with this place.

10/10 dining experience at this restaurant. Beautiful establishment, and clean bathrooms. The food was fresh, and presentable. The drinks were delicious. Our server Marie was an absolute gem. She was full of grace, professionalism, and knowledge. She has an amazing attitude, and she made my experience worth it.

It is everything I love and more. Everything was cooked to perfections and we had a free appetizer reward and got the meatballs I will say I like the meatballs better than the sauce but they got everything right. The atmosphere was perfect and everyone was friendly especially the waiter. I have been a few times but this time was extra special.

The best family restaurant on earth. We've come Here two years running for my daughters birthday and they are super accommodating and willing to Make all the magic happen. We will always treasure Maggianos and how they made us feel like part of their family. Thank you

The food service was terrible. I went on a Saturday afternoon. The waiter was rude and dismissive from the moment that I walked in. He never introduced himself or asked how the food was or if I needed anything else. There was neither any eye contact nor any greetings. I will not be going back due to the lack of service. There are much better Italian restaurants in town for the same price.

For starters, the lady at the front took her call, then turned her back and started conversing with the lady behind her. I waited until she was done. She looked at me and asked what I needed? I told her it was our first time and didn't know if we were supposed to come up to check in. She stated they will call once ready. Once called, she sat us right at the "Not an exit." However, people were still using the door. I asked my waiter if we could move, he said no but would lock the door. Well, another server came, unlocked the door and someone came back through the "Not an Exit. It's 33 degrees and after asking twice if we could move, I was told no. Decided I'd box my food and pay. The only reason I stayed is because my kids were enjoying their food. Really hate this was the experience.

Went here for the murder mystery dinner. It started at 7, but I got there abt 6 to sit at the bar and relax beforehand. I go to the bathroom and omg it was DISGUSTING!!! Stalls were all gross, with the handicap one being the worst, toilet filled to the brim unflushed. Trash and tissue all over the floor. NO paper towels to dry your hands. If I didn't have to go so bad I wouldn't have used the facilities at all. I go to the hostess desk to inform her so she could get on her walkie talkie to get management or something. Did she? No. She practically shooed me away to get to the next guest behind me. So I told a young man behind the bar and he seemed to care abt more abt my concerns. If I hadn't already bought a ticket to the mystery dinner I certainly would have left this establishment. Terrible experience. On another note the mystery's dinner was a lot of fun, but the issues I had prior to it, highly doubt I'll come back.

We had a great visit this time. Desmond was our waiter and he was wonderful. The food was delicious as always, but we were very disappointed that they did away with the Gigi's butter cake. That was our favorite!

I prefer supporting local Charlotte spots but my friend chose Maggiano's Little Italy for her celebratory party this week. I didn't realize this place was a chain but the location at South Park and the large dining space definitely made it feel similar to an Olive Garden of sorts. The servers were friendly and we sat at a nice both, although it was tough to hear in the loud environment. The overall interior was very pretty and there was even a live saxophone player which was neat. I chose the chicken parm for my entree and was happy with the spaghetti and tomato sauce, however the chicken almost felt like a giant chicken nugget and was nothing too special. However, I enjoyed how large the portion size was for the price so I even got to bring home leftovers. Overall, it was a decent spot that definitely has something for everyone, I just personally prefer some of the other smaller Italian spots in Charlotte.

Service, on a busy Friday night was great with a number of large tables keeping the Team hopping ! I decided to splurge and order an over-priced Veal Parm and it was served over cooked. It looked over cooked. Is anyone watching? If another guest hadn't already complained about their Lobster pasta, another overpriced dish, being salty I would have voiced my dissatisfaction. Seemed to be a bad night in the kitchen as my Bride's Chicken parm had a similar trait...OVER cooked! MLT hasn't resisted the opportunity to increase their prices but if you can't manage your quality you likely enjoy a decline in your sales. Pay attention to the product you serve! Not likely to return anytime soon~ds

This place is amazing, I came here with my mom and she was in love with the chicken parm and the ambiance. The service was super quick and they brought bread with oil super delicious, I will definitely come back.

Such great service from our waited Deepan but this is only a better Olive Garden. Not much flavor in the food and the best part of my meal was the bread. Lots of families and couples there which was nice to see but if you're going for true Italian...this is not it.

This review is only for the bar. We made a quick stop in over the weekend to enjoy a couple drinks before walking through the mall. The bartended was excellent, we enjoyed our short visit and look forward to returning again. Friendly staff :)

They have so many gluten free options! I got the sirloin cut steak with broccoli and potatoes. It was delicious! Our waiter was fun and upbeat.

This was my husband and I first visit, the other people in my party have been before. They were disappointed with a part of the service. Our server Mike was excellent, but why did our appetizers come out with our entree. We didn't have room on the table. And our drinks were all mixed up. One of the guest was asked, "are you paying for that" TOTALLY RUDE! One guest did not get her entree with the rest of the table. The food was good but not TOTALLY blown away

Quite possibly the worst chicken parm I've ever had. Reminded me of an elementary school cafeteria meal. That being said, the service was good and the calamari was good.

Kaian was phenomenal taking good care of our party of 8! He never missed a beat! Whatever we asked for he provided!

On of the greatest places I've ever ate at went there for my fiancés birthday and we had the most amazing experience ever our server was very nice and awesome he was the best server we ever had the staff was very polite and the service was amazing, we both got the fettuccine Alfredo and we both agreed that it was the best Alfredo we have ever had and we got a free cheesecake for my fiancés birthday and it was amazing the food and drinks were amazing and the price was very good for the quality of food we paid $100 for our meal and honestly it should be like a $300 meal with how good it was. Overall the experience was great the ambiance was beautiful. If you are looking for a very nice restaurant that has great food, drinks and service than I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Last night my best friend and I went out for our birthday and we had an amazing time! Great food, drinks, and service. Jermaine was our server and he was absolutely wonderful and helpful. He worked to make our night extra special. We absolutely will be back!

We had a Celebration of Life dinner there on the evening of 3/7/25. Everything was fantastic, from the initial meeting and discussions to the actual event was very well done. The food and service were excellent. The dinner was for 21 people and was handled by 2 servers. We had a slight issue with our bill but a phone call to our contact person had it resolved with no questions. Highly recommended for large or small groups as the food, service and cleanliness of the restaurant are fantastic.

I had their seafood pasta dish that consisted of lobster, shrimp, and mussels. It was supposed to be made with a spicy tomato sauce and there wasn't anything spicy about it. It was very bland and the mussels were disgusting.

Always a hit! You can't go wrong with Maggiano's. The rigatonis were perfectly cooked and sauced. The drinks were delicious. Zucchini crispy. Quite a good crowd for a Monday. Service was great! Bread delish!

Max my waiter was attentive and possessed good customer service. My fried zucchini was delicious. I enjoyed Mom's Lasagna and my daughter enjoyed her Chicken Alfredo Pasta. I alerted my severs and management I was celebrating my birthday and they treated me like Royalty! I love my birthday desert. The staff here are professional and courteous. Nice vibes during the entire dining experience.

The food was mid at best. Ordered blackend salmon with shrimp. Salmon was dry. Husband ordered lasagna. He described it as cafeteria type lasagna. Both salads had wilted lettuce. Crispy mozzarella sticks were good along with the complimentary bread. Big difference from Maggianos that we went to years ago. Noticed at least 2 patrons returning their food. On a bright side, all staff were very nice. Our server was great too.

The food was excellent as we ordered the blackened salmon over mashed potatoes & spinach, lasagna, the apple crostata, and butter cake with honey and strawberries. Unfortunately, I had to ask a server if they could let our server know we were there after waiting at the table for more than 10 minutes with others just walking by taking orders around us. Once our server came he was nice, but I also noticed he was helping the table in front of us and had been back and forth to them at least 3x. Therefore, he knew we were in his section and could've acknowledged us even if to say it would be a few minutes.
