In Praise of The Florida Project’s Food Scenes | Eater

"A low-cost motel on U.S. Route 192 where the mother and daughter live in cramped, impermanent conditions — no working ice maker, only a soda machine, and no kitchen — symbolizing the ‘hidden homeless’ who rent motel rooms long-term; its proximity to tourist attractions underscores the contrast between nearby affluence and local food insecurity and economic precarity." - Garin Pirnia

Every employee that I interacted with was very professional and polite. When I first arrived, I did my check in with Angie and she was awesome. She was very kind and courteous The room was clean and well organized. During my stay I visited Universal Studios and it’s about a 30min drive. There are numerous restaurants and a Walmart nearby. If your main goal is just to sleep because you’re going to be out all day, I highly recommend this place. They do serve breakfast in the morning, however, the area is a bit small but if you get there early, you will be able to enjoy a good meal.

I really enjoyed my stay, it was quiet, the place was clean, and there was no smell on the pillow and the beddings like some other hotels have. The breakfast was pretty good. No complaints here

The place where we should take breakfast was really small. Only 8 tables for all the guests. |The elevator didn't work and we had our room on a second floor. |The swimming pool hasn't been working for a time ago as many people told us. |One day they didn't leave coffee and teas as in the bedroom because "they went out of them".|It is a shame all these negative comments because the personal at the front desk is really kind and nice. Speciially Angie and Melissa.

The staff was polite and the breakfast was very well put together no complaints. I will stay here again in the future. The room was clean. It was a very quiet area and everything was close to us.

Was very impressed with the large rooms, the beds were very comfortable, front desk service was very good, breakfast buffet area very small and crowded but was actually good. Will consider this place when back in the area.

Yelp
I hate to be negative but this hotel by far is one of the worst I have stayed in. The suite is just a double room. In our other room, the telephone did not work and the vanity light in the hallway did not work. The appliances in both rooms were not plugged in. There were bed bugs I had to get with a napkin and flush down the toliet. The carpet is extremely dirty. If you don't wear shoes while walking around in the room, your feet will get black as if you were walking on dirty asphalt. Furniture was dusty and made me wondered the last time anyone stayed in it. Everything grossed me out in this room. I did not believe the room had been cleaned properly and I would wipe stuff down b4 touching it. The room phones were extremely old and it was very hard to get the front desk on the phone. The people who cleaned, or attempted at "cleaning" the rooms were nice but did not wear uniforms and did not look professional. I'm sorry, this hotel should not be in the service industry. I would give this place .10% of 1 star for at least having hot water to shower with and a working AC. I will not recommend anyone staying at this hotel. My only recommendation is that the health department shut it down or get the owner to do some major renovations in the rooms and the people they hire to clean the rooms.

Yelp
Clean hotel, is a place to rest and not paid high cost for a hotel. Great location close to highway. Hotel has breakfast area that offer, bagel, milk, cereal, juice, and microwave and toaster available to use. hotel has a pool to use. I paid $43 a night.

Yelp
We put a do not disturb sign on our room because we were out late the night before. The housekeeping staff wouldn't stop pounding on our door. The housekeeping staff was yelling at us to get out of our room so they could clean it, it was fine we told them to just skip us. They went & got their supervisor OMG, they just wouldn't stop!!! We didn't party in the room, it wasn't a mess, they refused to let us sleep in! The breakfast is pretty much a joke. However, the front desk people were very nice. I'll never stay here again... if I want to sleep in one morning then leave me ALONE!!!!!

Yelp
All the previous reviews are truthful, everything is old and damaged, but there is pretty good shower, fridge and microwave Main thing, that this hotel is extremely cheap, so what can you expect when you are renting the cheapest place, good enough to stay for a while

Yelp
Feces on the toilet, the tub was filthy. Roach infested, the entire room was dirty. the odor was overpoweringly disgusting. Do not stay there.

Yelp
This is literally the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. In my defense I didn't book it and I never would have. It was cheap and close to attractions. Rooms were very inconsistent as far as accessories. We had 2 rooms for 4 people. The other room had 2 remotes, a telephone, and a working A/C. Our room had no telephone ,the A/C sucked and the plumbing sucked. Our toilet clogged twice because the toilets didn't flush well. The 2nd time it happened front desk said no maintenance person was in duty and that I had to go get a plunger from them and fix it myself. On Wednesday while we were gone someone stole 3 cans of beer out of our friends room out if the fridge and left the fridge door open. This place has had bedbugs in the past (learned this on a previous yelp review) and I may have seen a cockroach. The room attendants were inconsistent. Sometimes they would pull garbage other times not. Sometimes they would make the bed other times not. Also we heard other customer yelling on our last day about something missing out of their room. The hotel does not provide shampoo just a bar of soap that they expect you to wash your body and hair with. Everything is old and outdated. Old and damaged furniture old tube tv's etc... Horrible place...never stay here

Yelp
This place was such a great surprise and it was only 5-10 minutes from the Disney parks- and 1 block down from a 24 hour CVS. The motel was in great condition and the pool area was very clean. Our towels were refreshed everyday & our room was very tidy. The continental breakfast only had coffee, orange juice, cereal, toast, and powdered donuts, but that was good enough for us. I also enjoyed having a fridge in our room- it was nice to come back to a cold bottle of water and snacks after a long day in Disney. Additionally, everyone at the front desk was incredibly nice. One huge plus: we didn't hear a peep from the surrounding rooms. The lady staying next to us even apologized for the "melt down" that her toddler had one night, but I told her that we hadn't heard a thing. One very little warning: bring your own soap and shampoo. They didn't leave any shampoo in our room (I could have asked the front desk, but I didn't). I highly suggest that you pack your own soap too- the bath soap in the room was very undesirable. This wasn't a problem for us b/c we always pack our own toiletries, but I want to warn others.

Yelp
This place should be shit down by the health department! Room was completely disgusting with stained walls and linens! Dried boogers, hair and bugs by the sink! Roaches in room, bug in the fridge! No wifi, kids yelling and screaming while running around property! Elevator was broke half the time!

Yelp
BEWARE!!!!! do not stay at this hotel!!! the second I walked into the room I noticed bedbugs and it smelled like massive mold and smoke. The covers in the bed make you feel disgusted I was itching myself all night. The original room that we were assigned to had piss and pubic hair all over the toilet. The breakfast was a joke. Shocking thing is that we booked it through Expedia I am pissed. The lady manager in the front told me she cannot do anything about refunding my money. simply told me to call Expedia. this is the definition of ratchet

Yelp
This motel room was clean and the ac was on. I had a good night sleep. The elevator was stuck on the second floor, so I had to walk up. The rooms were exterior hallways, not interior. Breakfast was extremely limited at coffee, milk, Frosted Flakes cereal, and a flavored juice drink. They also had white bread, a toaster, 2 types of jelly and butter. There were 8 chairs between 4 tables. For the low price an a place to sleep it was ok.

Yelp
Honestly not the best hotel ever. Some molding in the shower (luckily we don't use shower hotels ever). Me and my two kids went and it was definitely not the most kid friendly area. People smoking on patios, a few sketchy people walking around the motel, and even a party in the room below us (luckily it was shut down by the manager). The manager was a very nice man, he helped us book our hotel quickly. We were staying at Disney for two days, and it was very close to all the attractions and some other cool places that we explored. There used to be a shuttle to Disney, but it's not longer available. I'm not sure if this is due to COVID-19 or not but we were pretty bummed we had to Uber for 15$. Overall not a bad stay, wouldn't go back, but nice to experience and cheap. Close to Disney. Great if you're on a budget. Other than that, I wouldn't really bother with this place.

Yelp
Booked a room last minute (July 2015) because of other hotel error. Upon arrival, the grounds were mystically unkempt, reminding me of my favorite childhood book Where the Wild Things Are. The building was dilapidated, possibly imitating a castle from the fallen renaissance? Within minutes, I was surprised to see how friendly the parking lot locals were...even going as far as to request cigarette from me. The playground had a 1970's vintage theme to it; consisting of two sun-bleached First Step toddler jungle gyms. The pool was home to a couple of unidentified rodents who may or may not have been dead. As soon as I entered the room, I was intrigued to see the vintage theme in further action. The beds were freshened in a natural way, with the elimination of fitted sheets. I suppose this allows for oxygen to circulate for a better night's rest. In addition, half the lamps were broken, allowing for the perfect setting for a romantic evening with the roaches in the drawers (dead and alive). Not sure about the toiletries. I never made it that far into the room. Plus side: They refunded the second night without an argument. Win!

Yelp
Had a room with 2 beds for a business trip with a colleague. The AC, lamps, and every other electronic device was unplugged when we got in the room. It smelled of mold and made it difficult to breath. The door to the next room over was unlocked and open. After using our phones as flashlights and plugging in the lamp we were able to see how dirty the room was. The toilet was clogged and I stopped counting the pubic hair on the floor of the bathroom at 20 hairs and I hadn't even finished one row of tiles. The real kicker was when I flipped back the bedspread and a cockroach went running across the bed. Went to the front desk and he tried to move us to another filthy room with a single bed. Ended up sleeping that night in the car in a Walmart parking lot. After all of that they refused to refund the money for the first night, even though we didn't stay. Expedia wasn't any help either. They kept telling me that the hotel refunded one night and didn't seem to understand that it's unacceptable to charge for a room with cockroaches in the bed.

Yelp
There were only three positives to this hotel. The first was the friendliness of the staff. The second was the adorable Disney themed bedspreads in the room and the third was the perfectly cleaned pool. This was one of the worst hotels I think I have ever stayed at. I was taken in by the purple castle theme but that was a mistake. Everything about this hotel is old and broken. There is no Wi-Fi regardless of what they say. After we checked in she suggested that I come sit in the hotel lobby. There was no phone in our room at all when I inquired about it she said it was because those phone lines weren't working yet. You wouldn't think it was a big deal since both my son and I have Cell Phone's but when I called the front office I had to look up the number so in an emergency that could've been devastating. I had to go to CVS and buy a hair dryer because who brings a hair dryer on vacation? There are always hairdryers in the room. There was also no ironing board or iron. I had to hang my clothes in the shower and let the hot water run for a half an hour to try to steam them. There are holes in the carpet there are chips in the paint there are stains on the ceiling and walls. The adorable bedspreads have most definitely seen there better days. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room and while I didn't use the microwave we did use the refrigerator and I was happy to have it. The pool area is very small and has no umbrellas so if you plan to go to the pool will understand there is no shade at all. If there are two more families there then the pool will be overcrowded. The breakfast was worse than you would expect of a continental breakfast. Nothing was stale but there was no fruit or yogurt. There was white bread donuts and frosted flakes. That's it. For 10 more dollars a little bit up the road and just as close to Disney, you can get way better accommodations. Unfortunately the hotel that I usually stay at was completely full. I will always try to get the maingate lakeside resort first! I've stayed there many times and it has never disappointed. Plus it's cheap.

Yelp
No way!! If you plan to be at any hotel near Disney, forget this one! It's not nice, or a hotel. It's a motel, as in no shampoo or items for rooms, room service is a woman who wears a ripped t-shirt, jeans, and smokes, vending machines don't work and no ice machines either. Rooms look nasty and unclean. Pool area is across the parking lot from hotel. Best avoid and stay at a hojo on west I drive. Anything on the east side, lock your car doors and disinfect everything! Trouble, trouble, trouble!

Yelp
Hotel was booked more than a month ago, upon arrival our rooms with adjourning door which was quoted that the rooms never use wasn't ready until 1500. While inspecting the room, we found dirty linen, stained carpets and furniture. Pillow was flipped over and bed bugs was found. Management was contacted and advised of the situation. The manager walked into the room very nonchalant and smushed the bed bug with her bare hands. She freely discussed the uncleanliness of the room and advised us to contact the agency where we made our reservation. Hotel customer service was horrible, please do no stay at this hotel! Picture of bed bug on pillow is posted bellow!
