Came here for the first time in Jan last year so figured this will be my annual event! Came for the aura reading & knew exactly what to expect. Got lucky as it was an insanely cold day & for once there was no line or wait. Pic taken rite away & about 8 mins of having the colors & meaning interpreted. I paid the $40 bux & left happy. See ya next year!

Came here yesterday with some friends and it was such a cool experience, we did the picture and the readings and personally everything that they told me completely resonate with me. It is a beautiful thing to do at least once in your life!

Cute small business! They take aura photos and have crystals and jewelry for purchase. $30 for aura without reading $40 with reading but they have a deal for $20 if you spend $50 in shop. They are friendly and attentive to customers. I recommend going when it’s not super busy cause it’s small inside and can get a little crowded!

I really wanted to like this place, but one of the women who does the readings had a really awful attitude towards us. There was a review from a year ago where another customer mentioned about getting the reading from the woman with short hair. We had the exact same experience as that customer. First of all, she did a reading for a customer who came after us, which was fine because we were hoping to get a reading from the woman with gray hair, we were listening to her explain a reading for a group of people and she was so kind, thorough, and smiley. Unfortunately, we were stuck with the other "reader" and said two negative things about the aura color and repeated herself over and over and pushed us to buy crystals. We really want to come back to get a ready from the woman with gray hair. If you go, I would ask to wait for her if you need to. It is more worth your while honestly!

I had my Aura read here a couple months back. I really enjoyed the experience. You are not allowed to take photos inside. Once you get in you sit down at the photo machine. If you pay extra you also get a a reading about what the colors mean. It was worth it! I got my reading and I felt the woman was very accurate and genuine. It reads your Aura for 2 weeks. I highly recommend getting the reading as well!

We stopped in today with a group of friends! It was a really cool experience for all of us. You can feel the peace when you enter. The two ladies were very kind and patient with us all. A few of us ending up buying some stones and got necklaces made. Can’t wait to return

So I only come here to get my aura photo done. I came here a total of 4 times to reveal my aura back in 2021 to date. I want to come again but don't know if I should or not because I don't want to waste any more money it is $30 to take the photo and $40 with the photo and an explanation. They place you in a wooden chair with these two silver metal plates for you to put each hand on. Then you have to look into the camera lens in front of you and then a big flash. Both times my aura were the same and the other 2 times weren't. So I'm just hesitating if I should find out if I still have the same aura. The last time I got my aura taken, the staff said money will come from you and I'm like what!?! And she also asked if I were from NYC. I'm like wtf because I don't even look foreign born and I spoke in English. Oh wells, so now I'm hesitant in going back. Their crystals are kind of expensive for me although I did buy a black lion head for protection along with quartz beads. The staff created the bracelet out of red lanyard and made a nice criss cross sign in the bracelet. The lion head is very shiny when you turn it side to side. You can always come back for cleaning for free if it becomes dirty.

Decided to get my aura photographed during my vacation in NYC in 2022 since there was no such service in my city. It costs $30 to get it photographed but if you want an explanation along with it, it will cost $40. Though it was a unique experience, I will only give it 4 stars since I felt that the explanation was a bit lacking.

I came here with one of my friends for the Lunar New Year. It was really cool. Everyone was bustling in the shop. Customers and employees alike. When it's your turn, you sit in the chair and put your hands on the contacts. The lady tells you to breathe and relax and your pictures are done soon. I chose the option where I'd get a reading along with my photo. And I don't regret it.It was really informative and really cool. The photos are unique to each person. I will probably do it again next year.

It was fun to visit & get an aura photo & reading. The reading was insightful & spot on. I also had a crystal bracelet made & got a discount on the aura photo! Staff is friendly & store has good energy! Gets crowded fast. The aura photo & reading is a good value and a fun activity!

Why not start the new year w an aura reading? Have had this on my to do list for some time & happily went w my bestie yesterday. Going at the tail end of the day means you are dealing w a crowded store but def worth the wait. Probably took an hour all together w the wait, aura pic taken, wait for the explanation & it was 100% worth it. The lady that read ours was very good at explaining how the aura works & probably spend a good 10 mins on mine. Lots of info to digest & I'd say nearly 90% of what was said is accurate specific to me. Keen to go back in the spring for my next reading. Price is $30 for pic alone, $40 w explanation.

I moved out of New York and always make it a point when I go back to New York to visit magic jewelry for my aura reading. I truly love this place and hold it very near and dear to my heart.

Great spot for aura photos, love the option to pay for a reading versus just for the photo. We have a running tradition of coming here and watching our auras transform over the years. No big product here, had our photos in 5 minutes. The crystals are ridiculously overpriced but that's not why anyone goes here. If you know anything about auras, skip the reading because it's pretty basic but we got the reading for kiddos first aura photo. Highly recommended!

I was skeptical for sure, but I thought it would be an interesting souvenir if nothing else. My sister, my wife, and I went to get photos done and it was an absolute pleasure. I only wish they would have let me take off my mask for the picture. I recommend getting the reading done. Otherwise you've just got a colorful polaroid. The readings were unique for each of us and quite spot on. Either the lady is just really good at reading people, or there actually is something to this. I enjoyed having this done and would be interested to do it again.

This is a really special Chinatown spot! I'm pretty into aura readings, tarot readings, etc, and this place was suggested to me by a friend pre-pandemic. I finally made it and was not disappointed! The people at the store were really friendly and kind. The store is small but they have a good selection of crystals and jewlery to pick from. You can definitely get any of the basic or well known crystals pretty easily, and the prices were really fair. The process for the aura reading was pretty quick, too. The entire photo and reading lasted around 10 minutes. During the reading, my friend and I asked a bunch of questions, making our reading a bit longer. I would suggest asking questions so that you get more bang for your buck, because it's about $40 for the entire process which lasts less than 15 minutes. That being said, this place is legit. I got an aura reading a few months ago and was told that 2 of my chakras were closed. In this reading, I was told the same 2 chakras were blocked, but not completely closed. Glad to hear the stuff I was working on is paying off...

I got an aura reading here. I was actually inspired by two pictures I found on twitter. I was able to make it to nyc from dallas. The store is small. But the lady was really kind and gave me a reading on my aura.

I went here on my birthday because I've been wanting to go so bad so I treated myself and I also got a reading which was really really good ! Very on point, she was telling me just from the colors of my aura that she could tell I have shoulder n neck pain, I'm sensitive, and I have anxiety- which is all very true! I was shocked!!! But overall- it was a really good experience and I recommend it to all u guys! They also have jewelry, it is on the pricier side because everything is high quality! Many crystals if you are into that! I picked up a jade tiger and the nice woman turned it into a bracelet for me which is super cute and easy to get on & off! If you have time, I recommend you stop in here and experience this! 10/10 keep up the great work guys and thank you so much for making me feel special on my birthday!

I decided to get my Aura read for my birthday. I've done it before but never had an experience like this. This was a little crystal shop in Chinatown, NYC. The women who took our Aura pics carefully explained our pictures to us. She was very knowledgeable and kind. It was a fun and beautiful experience to share with my bf :) 40$ for aura picture and explanation

Can you believe it!? I finally got to take my Aura picture. I'm not knowledgeable about auras and anything somewhat related to it so I won't say anything about it. I don't wanna give out the wrong information. I do, however, have a few tips for people going for the first time. TIPS: 1. Go on a day that is less hectic. Just in case there's a long wait and you always wanna be relaxed or in a mood when you get your picture taken. 2. This does not tell your future. 3. Have fun! Enjoy the different color(s) you project out into the world. I was surprise how spot on their readings were. Even my husband was impressed and decided to have his taken too. It is a small room so having a large group might be a tight squeeze. It was an amazing experience and I would definitely be back again.

I've been here twice and I love it so much! The first time was last year and my aura was orange and this year purple! I do aura readings every few years, it's beautiful way to see how the energy is flowing. The service is always top tier. It's usually busy and definitely worth the wait, the line goes pretty fast!

I FINALLY made it to Magic Jewelry for an aura reading! Luckily I came before January 1, 2019 because the price went from $20 to $30. Yes, there's a line, but it moves quickly. I think I waited for 15 minutes or so. The whole process is pretty cool and the employees do a great job in educating you and explaining the photo. I also like that they don't try to up-sell their crystals and other products. Great experience overall!

I got my aura photo done here and had such a wonderful experience. I came 30 minutes before closing and they were still able to take my photo and do a reading. The reading was very detailed and insightful. I would highly recommend anyone to do this. It's such a fun experience.

This store is on every list I've ever seen for "things you have to do in Chinatown". You can have your aura photographed and explained to you! The coolest thing ever. You sit in their chair. You put your hands on the sensors. And they photograph your aura. I found the reading to be spot on describing me and my life. Most unique thing I've ever done in the area!

Looking for a unique experience in NYC? Come to Magic Jewelry for an aura reading! If you're into crystals, they also offer a variety of crystals and also crystal cleansing. The store itself is very small, next to KFT (may have a little wait but it's worth it I promise!!) When you go inside, someone will lead you to the back room where you sit and stare at a vintage looking camera. Your aura picture will then print like a Polaroid! When getting your reading, they also show you the chakra chart so that you fully understand your aura. Mine was pretty spot on. They also gave advice on what to do to improve yourself/ how to better obtain your goals in life. I didn't feel rushed during my reading and everyone gets their quality time with their interpretation. They also offer crystals to help, but they don't pressure you to buy or anything (which is a plus!) In the end, they put your picture in an envelope and also date it. I was told to return if there were any big changes in my life since our auras change then! I will definitely return to see how much has changed! I highly highly recommend you to visit this place. I had so much fun!

Over priced and rushed. I came here with my boyfriend on a Saturday evening. The line was to the door and it was packed. We waited a bit before we got our photos taken and then we went up to the counter to have our auras read. I was optimistic that something about the aura reading would resonate with me. I love reading horoscopes and personality types, so I'm usually very open to this kind of stuff. They revealed my aura first- pink and red. Then they revealed my boyfriends aura- also pink and red- and in the same exact pattern. Maybe a weird coincidence, but after looking at them in detail they are identical. Probably just a malfunction in the camera with however they make the auras appear. The reading was extremely disappointing and absolutely nothing like my boyfriend and I. We also got ripped off because we really only got one aura reading because ours were identical. It's cute for the photo op, but not worth $30.

I love this place and have been a customer for many years now. This place is a must go and I will give you the secret tips and tricks to making sure that you have the best experience. As you read in many reviews, Magic Jewelry has become highly popular in the past year which means more people, cramped spaces, and long long long lines. (It can be overwhelming but ALWAYS worth the wait and patience). Be the first one there. It opens at 11:30AM, I like to situate myself around 11:15AM outside to make sure that I am the first one seen. If you're the first person there, it's quiet and the energy is just lovely to experience without all the people. Is it raining outside? GO to Magic Jewelry!!!! For some reason, the rain deters many people. Ask questions, if you want answers. And there are so many more types of crystals available, just ask, give them your budget....they can make everything and anything under the sun! I started out with my first lapis lazuli for $30 and have been slowly building a collection since. Their crystals are very pure, intimate, and opening energy. A lot of their customers have started with the company since the very beginning, opened many many years ago. What does that mean? Good reputation for them to survive many many many years in a city like New York. Sit your butt down in the recharge station and take a moment to clear your energy. (I also find it highly fascinating the correlation between people leaving bad reviews, and their auras looking dim + dark vs. people with beautiful, colorful auras, leaving bright reviews)!

stumbled upon the store when I was waiting for kungfu tea next door, always wanted to have my aura photo taken so I went ahead and did it. The results are pretty accurate and the lady was very nice. Price as of feb 2021 is $30 without interpretation, $40 with interpretation, $20 with purchases over $50.

This is absolutely the first spot I hit when I land in New York. Chinatown is endlessly classic, and I am always wanting to know how my aura has changed since my last visit. I love that they offer you homemade tea while they do your aura reading, and the women who read to you are so excited to do so. All of the women are kind and feel like a close friend or even a great aunt. Energy is such a powerful field we all carry around us on a daily basis. I believe it is important to be mindful of personal growth and an aura photo shows just that. I love seeing the progress between my photos, and gaining the insight and knowledge on my path of life. Do not skip this. Let your light in and open your mind.

Very cool spot ! I've never had my aura read and my reading was pretty spot on! It costs $20 to get a reading. My photo turned up with light blue and pink colors. Without going into specifics (because I know you'll find it boring since you're a stranger) the things the reader said about me/my personality/my life were so accurate it was kinda freaky. Everyone else in my group (if the store is busy, they do rounds of readings in groups of 5) were not only all returning visitors but very pleased with their readings. PS - if you don't want a reading, the store has lots of cool crystals, beads, knick knacks that are fun to look at.

Fun and unique thing to do in Chinatown. They are pretty strict about only 4 people inside at one time and they give you a squirt of sanitizer upon entering. Not today, satan covid! $30 for the aura photo and $40 for the photo plus explanation. If you purchase a crystal valued $50 or over, then you only pay $20 for the aura photograph plus reading. I read people saying that they can't tell if the photo is legit or not because you can't even make themselves out in the photo. I am here to tell you that that is a damn lie or they seriously need to go see their local optometrist. I could totally make myself out in the photo. My reading was so-so because nothing is going on in my life, but she did describe some things about me that are very true. My friend however has a much more exciting life and her reading was on target and very accurate. It was eerie. I don't believe on crystals, but do enjoy a good reading. The woman also took her time explaining what the colors meant. We did not feel rushed. Would recommend as a quick fun experience. Try to go during the week earlier in the day as it can get really busy on weekends.

Love this - tiny shop. Still reminds me of old New York with tight spaces stuffed with all sorts. Not junk , though. An aura reading is $20. Depends on the reader - can be really good or hmee ok I can say that about myself. Aura reading is about one week to your past, this moment and your possible next week. In general it is about a month into your life. Yes take it with a grain of salt. The stuff is pricey but worth it if you like gems. No worries they will take your credit card. They also will "wash" the gem for you lifetime. There is a crystal recharge station. Fun and nice for us overcharged New Yorkers

This is a tiny shop in Chinatown that sells crystals and jewelry, and is in particular known for their aura photos, which is what I come here for. I was at first skeptical, but I've had my aura photo taken here 6 or 7 times now over the course of 2 years, and it's remained pretty consistent - it's always purple hued (which fits with my personality and proclivities), so I don't think the camera is just spitting out random colors. The readings are fairly accurate if also somewhat generic, and often quite similar from what I've heard (for myself as well as for some others: i.e. overthinking, poor sleep, tiredness, coming out of past negativity which needs to be let go. Though we live in NYC so these diagnoses apply to like 90% of the population? ). Maybe because I'm a tarot reader so have higher expectations, but I find the readings superficial and not very nuanced. However I've also had friends who say their reading is dead on and were given quite specific advice or were told something about themselves that was relevant and true at the time, or had a health or physical problem pointed out that they are indeed suffering from. This could perhaps be due to the skills of a particular reader they have on any given day/time, since from what I can tell everyone in the shop knows how to give readings, though I imagine the talent level must vary (and some might also be better at 'cold reading' than others). Your aura reading is supposed to correspond to a chakra chart, though since the readings are generally brief (about 3-5 minutes, depending on how busy it is), the functions of the chakras are not referenced in much detail and you're better off Googling the meanings of your aura colors and chakra correspondences later on. Don't be afraid to ask questions though if you don't understand something, such as what a color or where it appears means - you are better served if you ask follow-up questions as it allows the reader to give better advice and be more helpful. The ladies who work at the store are all very nice. They won't rush your reading if the store isn't too busy or has a long line of customers waiting. The photos are cool, and it is very fun and entertaining. I've brought and referred literally dozens of friends and out-of-town visitors to this place. The photos cost $20, or $8 if you make a crystal purchase, which they'll occasionally recommend but never hard-sell you on. The crystals are a bit pricey, but they do charge them for you (energy-wise). And you can bring them back for recharging, free of charge (ha!). And there is also an area where you can sit and place your hands on a clear quartz and an obsidian crystal, which is supposed to recharge your energy (the quartz) while removing/absorbing negative energy (obsidian). It is a charming shop and worth a visit. Tip: the store is actually located on Centre St. between Canal and Walker (not on Canal as per their address).

What a cool little experience in Chinatown! On my recent vacation, my friend asked if I wanted to get my aura photographed. I'm always down for some mystical business so we headed down there. The shop is quaint with just a few seats and a large jewelry case featuring crystals. My friend and I both requested a reading and although there was a line, they took care of us quite quickly. Photos in the shop are seldom allowed, unless you want to take a photo of your photo or perhaps the aura diagram. It goes a little like this: You sit down in this special section of the store, you place your hands on two hand-shaped metal "platforms" if you will, and then you stare into a giant old called, I think, the Aura 3000? Something like that! Then, once your photos are developed you'll see your aura color(s) and get a specialized reading. It was pretty DEAD ON considering both my friend and I were told we were exhausted (fact) and that she was always "go, go, go." Although, I found it weird that she felt I was peaceful, because I'm a ball of anxiety! Perhaps I was peaceful in that moment because my friend brings out the best in me. :) Either way, we had fun, it only costs about $20 per person and it's about a unique of an experience as they come! I DO wish they would give you a written reading so you can look back and reference it. I forgot at least 50% of what she said although I guess I could've written things down myself. Whoops!

This place is so cool and the crystals and jewelries here are just beautiful and of high quality. I discovered this place by accident one winter evening and to my surprise, they do aura pictures and the colors were spot on each time. However, I never cared much for the interpretations/readings afterwards because I found most their interpretations are more based on their personal life experiences and not accurate. My pictures turned out to be clear/indigo/magenta in the cooler months and clear/yellow/Indigo in the warmer months. The pictures are $20 each and they accept credit cards. They also serve you hot tea while you wait for your picture to be developed.

This has been on my bucket list for awhile now. I am happy I finally visited Magic Jewelry. I got my Aura photo, so cool! After a quick photo the woman at the counter gave me a reading, she was spot on! She took her time reading me. I really understood. I am so into things like this that I will return.

So I went here on a date after it was recommended by a friend. My date was really into auras so I thought it would be a fun experience. It was definitely fun - mostly for the business because they got $70 for reading mine and my date's aura in 5 minutes. All in all cool and different experience, would definitely recommend. Wouldn't do it a second time.

It was a little hard to find and it is a very small space. I did not have a reservation and only had to wait 5 minutes or so while other people got their reading. The experience was very fast, so not sure how much of my aura it truly got but I love the photograph. The reading was very brief but fun. Come into it with the expectation of just a interesting photograph.

I heard that people wait for hours to be seen here. I did not see any lines. I was seated right away and got my aura pic taken. It is really expensive. $30 for pic only and $40 for pic+reading. What was being told to me was pretty generic. Nothing too exceptional or magical about this place...

It's always a blessing when someone takes a moment of their time to pour into your life. This someone happened to be David. He helped me find the jade pendant that was meant for my spirit. He also took the time to review my aura photo. Thank you David for an experience that was vibrant, teachable, and memorable. The shop also sells crystals that she recommends based on your aura but they aren't pushy in terms of selling. Overall it was a cool experience.

My boyfriend and I came here to get our auras read. It was an awesome experience and something I'll treasure for a long time. They are very thorough when explaining your aura. I defiantly recommend coming here, it's a magical experience!

Went to Magic Jewelry for a picture of my Aura. We went late on a Saturday, it was about 5pm ish, we waited for about 20 minutes. The shop is small so it fills up with about 5-6 people. But the main reason we waited 20 mins is because the ladies, really take their time in explaining the Aura picture and the meaning of the colors. They make recommendations for crystals, and other tools but they weren't pushy in selling the items. Overall my experience was wonderful and I cannot wait to go back and see how my Aura has evolved with time. I definitely recommend Magic Jewelry for those looking for insight to the their aura or spiritual tools.

Cool experience in Chinatown. It costs $30 for an aura photo, or $15 if you make a purchase over $30. You sit in a seat in front of the aura camera and place your hands on sensors. Then, after the photo is developed, one of the workers interprets your aura for you in great detail. Each reading is reflective a 3-week period. Whether you believe in this or not, it's a unique experience for sure, though a bit pricey. No reservations necessary; I just walked in and was serviced very quickly!

I was visiting New York for work, and did a bit of research on Magic Jewelry before I arrived in the city! I took an Uber to Canal Street an hour before they were scheduled to close. I called them because I was unable to find it on the street. When they answered they informed me that Aura readings were done for the day. I explained that I came allllllll the way from South Carolina to get this done, and she graciously gave me directions and said she would do it for me! It was a great experience. She explained my photo at length. She answered all of my questions and I was very happy that she allowed me to get it done! I will return again and again!

I'm okay with spending $20 on a fun photo with a hoaky aura reading but not $30. $20 seems a bit expensive for a fun experience but $30 and the image is not all that interesting felt like a ripoff. My advice is to skip it and download an aura image app.

Stopped in on Friday afternoon after a tip from a woman a met the night before who said the one must while you're in NYC is to have an aura photo and reading. It took some time to find the shop as its on Centre by Canal Street, not Canal as one map indicated it was. I was able to walk in and they were ready for me right away, since it was a bit hot outside, they gave me water & let me have a moment to relax and prep for the photo. It took a few minutes for the photo to develop and wow was interesting experience. My aura is sunny and a lot of the reading what she said was true, I'm a positive person and have been busy and have had several signs to rest and she told me the same thing. I purchased a pair of crystal earrings which are a great memento of the reading and of my recent trip to NYC. They gave me a card to come back to have the crystal cleaned anytime. Cool experience, stop by during your next trip to NYC.

Man, this place is a racket. They charge $30 per person to read auras and the photos don't even have your picture in them- just colors. It didn't seem like that's how it's supposed to work. Plus, my husband and I got the same advice: "you seem tired, all this red means you're very busy. You should take a rest." Really? Also, she may or may not have mixed up our photos- who can tell since our faces were not really in them. The whole thing was the most expensive 10 minutes of my life. I told my husband we never have to do that again.

This place was the worst decision of my life and money... Let's start out with the long line which lasted for over an hour. (Don't go Saturday's or even at all). I made sure to ask each person leaving if they enjoyed their experience. Few said yes and a few said no. When it was my friends and my turn, we came in and each of us took a picture and placed our palms on this chair. After that, this asian lady used the picture to read my friends aura reading by the color of the Polaroid picture. She mentioned that my friend was stressed out a week before due to work and school, has a weak mental health, and will face relaxation in the current week (well duh because she's on vacation). Next was me, she said the EXACT same words to me as well. I was so furious. She said I was weak or sick the week before, which I WASNT. My health is perfectly fine. Last but not least, she explained to my other friend that she was also stressed from school and work the week before. (Obviously, who isn't stressed, ugh). I couldn't believe this at all.... everything sounded so similar!!!! I felt like she was trying to get us out as quickly due to the amount of people waiting. All of this for $20. This was probably the most regretful decision ever !

I have been shopping here for years and got into the VIP program, note that the VIP program requires more than 20K worth of purchase to be part of it. My recent visits there have been nothing but frustration. They would ask you for cleaning card to clean your crystals. Well I have never got any of those cleaning cards as 20K worth of lists won't even be able to fit on that tiny little card! And as a regular customer I was never required to show cleaning card... lately they start asking for those cleaning cards that I have never received.... Very lame and annoying service system

This is a really fun place to go! I got my aura read in the winter with a few friends and I really enjoyed the experience! It was a relatively quick reading but that is kind of the appeal I guess? I don't think there aim is to give you something to psychic reading. It was short and sweet (about 10 minutes for me and two friends). They also sell and assortment of crystals! But it is very small, so small, that I was having a difficult time hearing my aura reading.
