"With just four large communal tables, Magnolia is a simple, cosy spot enlivened by bold colours, vintage décor, and chandeliers. Their à la carte menu offers tasty, well presented fare from across Thailand. Dishes are distinguished by vivid, gutsy flavours; fried sun-dried squid with peanut sauce and fresh watermelon with desiccated salmon are exemplars. In lieu of a dessert menu, they serve lovely complimentary pandan pudding. Do visit their wine shop next door." - Michelin Inspector

The atmosphere here is absolutely incredible! The staff goes above and beyond with their amazing service, making you feel right at home. And the food? It’s a must-try—every dish is a delightful experience! This is undoubtedly the best spot in Chiang Mai!

The ambiance was decent amongst the Chiang Mai restaurants. We killed two mosquitos while waiting for the food. The service was disappointing and nonexistent, although the staff was quick to rush us out. I agree with the other reviewers that the food was not deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. We got the "Panaeng" curry with chicken and there was a raw piece of chicken. The curry sauce was too oily. Overall: There are better options in town. Note: you have to spend over 1,000 baht to use a credit card.

My friends and I decided to visit this restaurant on our last night in Chiang Mai. We had been enjoying the local street food for the past few days, but we felt a bit tired of the bustle and wanted to have a more relaxed, refined meal. So I searched online and stumbled across this place. Magnolia Cafe was an extremely suitable place for us. The Michelin ranking is well deserved, as both the restaurant’s staff and the decor make you feel very well taken care of. The food is excellent and reflects a healthy balance of creativity (watermelon cubes with salmon!) and authenticity. Everything we had was cooked to perfection, and the prices were extremely affordable. A restaurant of this stature and quality could easily charge more, and it would be well justified in doing so. We even got complimentary canapés and desserts - totally unexpected and very well crafted. Do visit Cafe Magnolia if you have the chance, it will be worth it!

We went for dinner without reservation, fortunately server helped to arrange a table at the room of the back side which is very exclusive and nicely decorated. I have no ideas that it was a Michelin restaurant but the signage posted on the entrance really impressive. We ordered the following, Watermelon cubes with crispy fried salmon floss, it's very common now in Chiangmai, salmon floss taste rich. Penang Curry, mildly spicy and with a hint of nutty flavor, however the chicken didn't taste much. Fried Mackerel with Nam Jim seafood , the fish fillet is fried to crisp, taste fresh but a little salty. Grilled Pork Neck with Nam Jim Jew, the most tender pork neck I've ever taste, the meat is very tender and slightly pink in color, thank you for server's recommendation. They offered complimentary welcome canapes, which was a tiny meat ball on pineapple. Also complimentary dessert, gluey pandan coconut cream per guest. But I still ordered durian sticky rice which is too tempting. The medium soft durian laid on a bath of warm coconut milk and sticky rice which was a perfect finish of our dinner. Servers were all very polite and attentive, you will not listen to anyone talking around you. The whole restaurant full of collections of glasses and pottery wares and plated which are hand made. It's enjoyable for eating and appreciating those beautiful items. Thank you for such a good dinner.

Don't mistake this place for a "cafe" as the name suggests. It's a Thai restaurant with a well deserved Michelin guide status for 3 years. It feels like eating at a friend's (who can cook incredibly well) home. The food is authentically Thai that brings to life the best of local ingredients and culinary creativity. Since it's contemporary Thai food, you won't find the usual popular Thai dishes here. I also love the homey atmosphere and great service. Recommend to come in group so you can taste many dishes!

Had an amazing time out with a couple of friends, ordered a variety of dishes and not one disappointed us. The staff were professional and the place had a very homely and comfortable atmosphere.

Simply AMAZING. You know it’s good when every dish tastes “hmm sooo good”. I wanna say it feels like home-cooked food, but it tastes much better than that. Must order the grilled pork neck. If you are in Chiang Mai, this is a must visit!

Luckily we made a reservation as the place was full and we were allocated a private room all to ourselves. The food was fantastic and service excellent. The food was not only tasty but well presented. Certainly lived up to the ratings and hype. Would certainly come back.
