Magnolia Café

We walked to Magnolia Café after a relaxing Thai massage, having spotted it in the Michelin Guide. I’m glad we did. This is one of those places where expectations are quietly met—and then gently exceeded. The food presentation is genuinely impressive. Each dish arrives beautifully plated, with clear attention to detail. More importantly, the taste fully lives up to the visuals. Flavors are well balanced, thoughtful, and work together naturally. Nothing feels overdone. The setting is relaxed and comfortable, not flashy. Service was warm and attentive without hovering, that made the meal flow at just the right pace. This isn’t a place you visit just because it’s in a guide. It’s a place you’d happily return to. We certainly would.

Thank you for letting us experience the best Thai homemade food we have ever tasted. Every dish was exquisite: fresh, creative, and full of joy. The waitress was absolutely extraordinary: warm, attentive, and genuinely loving. Food, service, and ambiance were all a perfect 10/10. An unforgettable experience that we would recommend without hesitation.

Wonderful cafe! We found it on Michlen star list. Everything except watermelon appetizer was so good! The duck, soup, some other appetizer from Noth Thai cuisine. Sophisticated experience! Many thanks to the team and chef!

Highly recommended! Homemade transitional Thai food, every dishes taste amazing, we went twice and love all the dishes. Recommend to book the table first consider the popularity.

Nov2025. We came here for our first meal in Chiang Mai. Started with appetizer, it was tune with pineapple cube. The first dish was the signature watermelon salmon flake. Tom kha which the seafood coconut soup, it was nice.

The ambiance was decent amongst the Chiang Mai restaurants. We killed two mosquitos while waiting for the food. The service was disappointing and nonexistent, although the staff was quick to rush us out. I agree with the other reviewers that the food was not deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. We got the "Panaeng" curry with chicken and there was a raw piece of chicken. The curry sauce was too oily. Overall: There are better options in town. Note: you have to spend over 1,000 baht to use a credit card.

The atmosphere here is absolutely incredible! The staff goes above and beyond with their amazing service, making you feel right at home. And the food? It’s a must-try—every dish is a delightful experience! This is undoubtedly the best spot in Chiang Mai!

My friends and I decided to visit this restaurant on our last night in Chiang Mai. We had been enjoying the local street food for the past few days, but we felt a bit tired of the bustle and wanted to have a more relaxed, refined meal. So I searched online and stumbled across this place. Magnolia Cafe was an extremely suitable place for us. The Michelin ranking is well deserved, as both the restaurant’s staff and the decor make you feel very well taken care of. The food is excellent and reflects a healthy balance of creativity (watermelon cubes with salmon!) and authenticity. Everything we had was cooked to perfection, and the prices were extremely affordable. A restaurant of this stature and quality could easily charge more, and it would be well justified in doing so. We even got complimentary canapés and desserts - totally unexpected and very well crafted. Do visit Cafe Magnolia if you have the chance, it will be worth it!
